FarmVille has another new exciting feature: Lighting Collections. These new Collections, such as the Gemstone Collection, can only be found when planting crops on your farm. Players will also have the option of purchasing the items in the collection for $FV.

Note: Lightning Collections are not yet in full release. If you do receive a Gemstone, use it at your own risk it may be lost.

FarmVille Lightning Collection - Gemstone Collection

The Lightning Gemstone Collection has 6 components.

Free Gifables ( 3 Items ) or available for 1 $FV:

• Topaz – Common
• Amethyst – Common
• Turquoise – Common

The remaining 3 Gemstones can be found while planting crops or purchased for $FV:

• Ruby 2$FV – Uncommon
• Emerald 2$FV – Uncommon
• Diamond 3$FV -Rare

So you can be patient; accept gifts and try to find the Collectibles  OR purchase them for a total of 10$FV (the complete set).

When you complete the Gemstone collection you can share a few extras with neighbors:

But, currently you will not be able to complete this collection again, as the congratulations pop explains:

“You won’t be able to collect more Gemstone items, but you can still share extra Gemstone Collection items with your friends.”

What are your thoughts on the new Lightning Collection feature?

With tonight’s release, there seems to be a new collection in town!

The FarmVille Lightning Collection teasers are as  seen below. However, this feature does not seem to be “live” as of yet, as it cannot be found with the other existing Collection sets and no farmers  are reporting finding any Lighting collectibles.

According to the Official FarmVille Forum, a new Collection set, the Button Collection, was supposed to be released with yesterday’s updates.

Due to technical issues, the Button Collection was postponed until the near future without an official release date as of yet.

The Button collectibles will join other existing FarmVille Collection sets such as the Gardening Tools, Country Kitsch, Bugs, Butterfly, and Feather Collections. You can find collectibles (collectables) by completing tasks in FarmVille such as plowing, harvesting, or fertilizing.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen FarmVille make any updates to the Collectables, now it looks like a new collection is in the works!

As always, we cannot guarantee if and when these unreleased items will be released, but it’s great to get a sneak peek and hope that they are.

FarmVille Crop Mastery is a part of FarmVille that often goes unmentioned. It rarely gets much attention, although some farmers appreciate it for what it is, the ability to “master” a crop. As FarmVille Freak Jessica says below, it is “downplayed” in comparison to other aspects of FarmVille. Mastering a crop rewards you with XP and also a Crop Mastery Sign designating mastery for that specific crop. Sadly, even Zynga will not replace “lost” Mastery Signs due to in-game glitches, which seems to be a somewhat common problem.

How do you feel about Crop Mastery? Do you try to Master all the FarmVille Crops available for Mastery? If so, how many crops have you mastered? Has anyone mastered them all?

I have been playing FarmVille since September and my interest has always been in crop mastery, which I’ve noticed gets downplayed a lot in comparison to many other aspects of FarmVille. (Although hopefully that will change with the upcoming Farmer’s Market!)

Today I finally mastered raspberries, which I’m very proud of since it took 21,000 individual plots and I did it despite the drawback of never getting XP during harvests. I’m attaching a picture of my raspberry mastery sign in hopes of being featured on the FarmVille Freak website.

While my farm is nothing to write home about (because most of my land is reserved for crops), I have quite the collection of crop mastery signs to show off, so I have also attached a picture of that. I currently have 26 crops mastered (60% of the 43 permanent crops) with many other crops mastered at one or two stars.

I’m curious- has anyone mastered all 43 crops yet? Hopefully I will get there soon!

I love your site (thanks for all the heads-up) and I adore Farmville… I have no problems spending real money for Farmville Cash to get all the really fun stuff and be fully entertained… but I’m running out of space! If you can hear me: Help me FV Gods and Goddesses! My storage is full of bitchin’ stuff I JUST HAVE to keep (mostly LE items), almost every inch of my land is used for some awesome thing or other… even 40 slots of my gift box are used for storage… LOL! Where am I supposed to put anything new??? I’ve already cut back on my crops soooooo much, it’s going to take a long time to earn my masteries. Farmville, you need to expand land and storage!!! Or I’m going to end up cropless!!! And then stuck! I’d like to maintain a balance between a a working and decorative farm…. Thanks!!!!
