"I can't stop watching my crops!" – FarmVille Freak

We are bumping this post because some of you FarmVille Freaks asked for the guide.

The prized Pigs are here in FarmVille! Now, that everyone should have the Prize Pig feature we’ve put together this handy guide to help fill you on this new FarmVille feature.

The Prize Pig feature allows you to work together with your FarmVille neighbors to grow and feed special Prize Pigs so that you can unlock new exclusive pigs and gain some rewards such as new exclusive pigs in the process.

Note, this feature does not involve all FarmVille Pigs. No, sir. It takes a special kind of pig to be considered for the Prize Pig title, so you won’t be able to use your regular old FarmVille pigs with this feature. Every farmer will receive at least one free pig, the Magnificent Pig, to get started in their Prize Pig endeavors.

To get started place the Prize Pig Scale on your FarmVille farm. You can find it in your Gift Box or in the FarmVille Market where you can scoop it up for free (or a few Farm Coins). You can only have one Prize Pig feature across all  your FarmVille farms. There’s no construction on this feature, so once it’s placed on your farm you’re ready to roll.

The Prize Pig Scale comes with one free pig to get you started. You don’t have to place your Prize Pigs in a FarmVille animal pen. They can be placed anywhere on your farm. For starters you will be able to place up to three Piglets on your farm. If you want to grow more right away, you’ll have to ante up and pay 25 Farm Cash to do so which will unlock the ability to grow more pigs at one time. Remember, you can naturally unlock the ability to raise more pigs at one time just by leveling-up this feature and honing your pig growing skills.

FarmVille Hog Chow

Growing Your Pig with Pig Chow

The purpose of this feature is to raise and feed your very own Prize Piglet into a thriving, healthy, and huge Prize Pig. The catch is that you will have to beat the clock and feed your piglet as much as possible in the time frame of just 7 days. Once you’ve fed your Piglet 100 Pig Chows (a new type of food especially for Prize Pigs) or the 7 days comes to an end- you will be able to weigh your Pig and win prizes! Pigs can be weighed when whichever of these happens first- either feeding your Pig 100 Pig Chows or at the end of 7 days.

Getting Pig Chow

Getting Pig Chow for your Prize Pig can speed up the process of waiting the seven days to weigh your pig. You can try to get as much Pig Chow as possible in one week. Pig Chow can be obtained several ways which are listed below.-Post a Request for Pig Chow to your Facebook News Feed (once every 8 hours).

• Remind your pig-raising partner to feed your shared pig (this will post a message on your partner’s wall with a Pig Chow)
• Clicking on a friend’s feed from the Facebook News Feed
• Craft Pig Chow in your Craftshop (Pig Chow Recipe requires Parsnip, Wheat,  Sorghum bushels)
• Purchase Pig Chow with Farm Cash

Pig Chow that you collect will go to your FarmVille Gift Box.

Growing Pigs with Friends

You can speed up the process of raising a Prize Pig if you recruit the help of friends. You have the option to chose a a friend to help you grow your Prize Pig. Simply mouseover your piglet and click on the blue “Add Friend” button. Once you click the button, you will see an option to choose a FarmVille friend that you will be able to send a help request to. Once a friend has accepted your request for help, you will be able to see their profile picture when you hover over your Prize Pig Scale.

Any requests for help that you send will be displayed in the Prize Pig feature, not the FarmVille inbox.There is also a “Requests” tab which is located when viewing inside the Prize Pig feature. This keeps track of your Prize Pig relates requests.

Once your friend accepts this request, the two of you can then work together to supply the Pig with as much feed as you can before time runs out. Any Pig Chow that either of you gives to the Pig will count toward growing him.

Weighing Your Prize Pig & Getting Rewarded with Prizes! 

Whenever your Prize Pig is fully grown up and ready for the weigh-in, you will be able to collect your prize. After weighing in your pig, you will see a final weight displayed along with at least three prizes that you can win for growing your Pig. The prizes include consumables that you can use on your FarmVille farm such as Unwither, Turbo Chargers, etc.) and there will also be exclusive collectible items that you will only be able to obtain through the Prize Pig feature (this is what makes them exclusive). If you’ve partnered up with a friend to grow up your Prize Pig- you both get prizes!

Once the weigh-in is complete, you will free up a space to grow a new pig.

Unlock Mystery Prize Pigs

At first, you will only be able to grow up to three pigs at once. As you grow more and more pigs, you will be able to unlock additional growing space for more pigs.

There are four different varieties of Prize Pigs which include the following:

• Magnificent Pigs
• Noble Pigs
• Fabulous Pigs
• Majestic Pigs

Each variety of pigs has five different collectible Mystery Pigs within that variety. For example, there are five types of Magnificent Pigs, 5 types of Noble Pigs, and so on.

New types of Prize Pigs can be purchased only through the Prize Pig feature by clicking on the “Pig Market” feature. Whenever you purchase a new pig, it will first appear on your farm in its infant state. Once it’s fed it will eventually become one of the five different collectible Mystery Pigs within that Prize Pig variety.

FarmVille Freak

FarmVilleFreak.com is gearing up for Halloween and the release of FarmVille Haunted Hollow farm which is expected to release next week and possibly Monday, September 17th 2012 for early access! Early access means that you can opt to pay Farm Cash (possibly 35 FV$) to get there early before it is released for free. Of course, this could change and when it does go live it is likely to be on a slow roll out. Since so many of you have asked– this is a good date to place bets on!

When does it start!? 

FarmVille Early Access to Haunted Hollow

Similar to FarmVille Jade Falls and Hawaiian Paradise, you can expect the FarmVille Haunted Hollow farm to have an early access date as well. Expected Early Access date is Monday, September 17th 2012.

FarmVille Haunted Hollow Early Access

Early Access to Haunted Hollow is expected to cost 35 Farm Cash (from unreleased images) but this information is subject to change without prior notice until it actually goes live. Paying the price of early access grants you access to the new farm typically one week before it’s released to everyone else for free. However, with the purchase of early access you get a few perks such as a free Tree and access to an exclusive early access quest line along with its quest rewards if you complete them (FarmVille says its worth 80 Farm Cash). FarmVille Haunted Hollow Release Date

Now, after all of that information, what we really want to know- when will FarmVille Haunted Hollow be released?

There is no official date, but expect Early Access to begin soon! Zynga knows that this is a timely release as Halloween is coming soon and everyone will want to enjoy the farm and create their own Halloween Town farm before the actual holiday. It is very likely that it could be releasing as early as next week for early access and possibly Monday, September 17th 2012 (Early Access).

With the new Roaming Dinosaurs you will be able to entice FarmVille Dinosaurs onto your FarmVille farm and if you catch one, they are yours to keep. Yay for free Dinosaurs!

Before you dread the thought of working on yet another FarmVille construction project- there’s good news. The Roaming Dinosaur feature is not a buildable. *Sigh of relief* It works similar to the adoptable Lonely Animals that show up on your FarmVille farms. The Roaming Dinosaur Pen can be found on the outerskirts of your FarmVille farm where Lonely animals usually appear. It’s a pretty big pen, so you can’t miss it! If you are still having trouble locating this new feature, look out for the in-game icons located on the Right side. The Roaming Dinosaur feature is represented by a Dinosaur icon. Just click that to get started.

To entice a Roaming Dinosaur you will have to complete some tasks and then it’s yours to keep forever. Each stage will have a different Dinosaur, for a total of at least six different Dinosaurs for you to obtain. The first stage kicks off with the Bambisaurus Dinosaur. In order to entice it to stay (and keep it) you will need to collect 8 Fern Fronds by posting a Facebook News Feed share. When your friends click on the share you will get a part and they will get one for themselves as well. So remember, help a friend in need and help yourself too!

There’s also time constraints in place, so you will have to complete the task in the given amount of time to get your free dino.

FarmVille Jade Falls Farmgoddess' Tea Garden (Level 1)

FarmVille Jade Falls introduces us to our new crafting restaurant, or Tea Garden!

In our new Tea Garden, you will have access to craft new Jade Falls Recipes. Everyone is given a free Level 1 Tea Garden to start with and upon your first visit to your Tea Garden you’ll find that you have one recipe of Milk Tea at 100% ready. Don’t click it just yet, make sure you are fulfilling the first quest requirements before you click.

If you’d like to prepare your bushel supply for the new recipes (even if you aren’t going to Jade Falls early) then you’ll want to plant or collect some ingredients from regular crops. Stock up on some regular (non- Jade Falls) bushels below which are ingredients you will need to start crafting the new recipes.

• Green Tea bushels
• Wheat bushels
• Ginger bushels
• Basil bushels

FarmVille Gas Pump Completed

There’s more good news, besides the free Fuel this little Gas Pump will produce, it’s actually physically small and doesn’t take up a lot of that precious green space on your farm.

When the Update is made available to you on your farm, you will receive a pop-up like the one shown below inviting you to place the Gas Pump on your farm. If you haven’t received it yet or can’t find the Gas Pump try searching for it in your FarmVille Gift Box or keyword search in the FarmVille Market (found under the Buildings section).

Here’s how it works. There are three stages of the Penguin Escapades. In each stage you will be helping a different group of Penguins make their way to Winter Wonderland. How do you do that? With friend help of course! For example in Stage 1 you’ll need to get 5 friends to help “distract the ticket inspector” so that the Emperor Penguins can board the train for Winter Wonderland.
