While you are on one farm the other is paused.

FAQ

1) Q: Do I have to go to England? A: No.

“The answer to this one is simple. No! You don’t have to complete any of the quests and you can continue on your own farm any time you want. We want you to go to England to experience all the new features, items, and quests but you don’t have to.”

2) Q: Is storage universal? Can I transfer items between farms? A: No.

“Currently, Storage is not universal between farms. Each farm has its own individual unique storage space. Once an item is placed on one farm, it cannot be moved to the other farm. “

3) Q: What about my Gift Box? A: Yes & No.

“Many items stored in the Gift Box can be placed/used on either farm. This includes many decorations, buildings and animals. Unique quest items, collections, and certain consumables may only be used on one of the farms, depending on the item. This also means purchases made from the Model Farm, which go straight into the Gift Box, can then be added to whichever farm you wish. Once you place that item, however, it cannot be moved to the other farm.”

4) Q: Where can I get a ram to start sheep breeding? A: Et Tu, Brutus? Quest

“You can get a ram by starting the Sheep Pen quests on your English Farm; by completing them, you will get you Brutus the Ram, which you can breed with. Other rams can be acquired by purchase in the Market or through your neighbor’s feeds if they are sharing newly bred rams.”

*See FarmVille Freak’s English Countryside Quest Master Guide for a rundown on all the quests in the English Countryside!

5) Q: How come I can’t sheep breed on my Home Farm yet?

“Currently, Sheep Breeding is only available in the English Countryside, however we’ll be adding this ability at some point in the future for players who have mastered their English Farms. “

This week’s official FarmVille Podcast is out and hosted by FarmVille Community Manager, Grimwell. Lexilicious will return to host the podcast on February 18th.

Also, making its way to FarmVille tonight is the FarmVille Greenhouse which was released tonight along with lots of new crops for you to work on! This major new feature will slowly be rolling out for farmers so you may not have access to it yet.

You can listen to the podcast video below or read our FarmVille Freak Summary and find the entire transcript provided by Zynga at the bottom of the post.

FarmVille Freak Podcast Summary

FarmVille Greenhouse (previously called the Glass House in prior Podcast) is released tonight.

3 Phase buildable building.

Used to create up to 10 new crops.

The Greenhouse (decorative building) has been renamed to Glass House.

For more details about the Greenhouse click here.

The Farm Coin option 28×28 Expansion is coming next week! We learn that this expansion’s delay was because it was going to be part of a new feature. This idea was put on hold and expansion will be released as normal.

In the future when you do not receive a Mystery Seedling from harvesting your Orchard, you will receive 2 Watering Cans and an additional can that can be shared with up to 10 of your FarmVille neighbors via the Facebook news feed.

(Reminder, Snowmen will have the ability to produce Watering Cans for the next 3 weeks only.)

New special crops will be introduced that will award extra XP and more Farm Coins than normal crops!

To learn more about a specific item on the Model Farm mouseover or click it to preview.

You can purchase items ont the Model Farm directly by clicking the “Buy” button.

Clicking “Send” allows you to purchase the item and send it to a neighbor.

Each day you visit the Model Farm you will get a special prize just for visiting.

The Model Farm will be updated and change with new items and themes.

FarmVille Valentine’s Day Kicks Off

The Cupid’s Castle is a constructible building that you will be able to harvest for Valentines later.

You will be able to redeem Valentines for special items in the future.

The Cupid’s Castle frame is free, but you will need to be at least a level 5 farmer.

There are 3 Levels to Cupid’s Castle building phase with the following materials needed:

Level 1 = 12 Parts, Level 2 = 45 parts, Level 3 = 60 parts

Obtain parts via neighbor requests, free gifts, Special Delivery Boxes, or Farm Cash.

As each phase is completed the Cupid’s Castle becomes bigger and better!

FarmVille Collection Limit

Due to automated programs designed to automatically collect all FarmVille news feed shares new limitations were placed.

Each player has a maximum number of 125 items they can collect from the Facebook news feed per day.

Any player collecting a high number of feed items per second will be sujbect to a throttle that limits the speed they can collect for the rest of the day.

Limit resets daily at 9:00 PM (PST)

Wall-to-wall posts between two neighbors, barn raising requests, and fuel posts do not count toward this limit.

This limit is not set in stone and FarmVille will be monitoring the results of the limitation and accepting player feedback.

FarmVille Podcast – Jan 24th!:

Hey Farmers and welcome to this week’s installment of the Official FarmVille Podcast. My name is Lexilicious, and I am here to bring you the latest news and information about FarmVille from Zynga. This week, we will be discussing our latest releases, and all of you will be getting a sneak peek of things coming to FarmVille in the near future.

So first up this week is the release of the new Model Farm. Now, this feature should be available to a majority of you right now, but some users still do not have access to this release, as we are working on fixing some bugs. Now, users who have not yet checked this feature out may be asking: What exactly is a Model Farm? Think of it as a showroom for Limited Edition and other thematic items where you can see a wide variety of buyable goods arranged in a display farm.

You can visit the Model Farm at any time by clicking on the Model Farm card, which you can see on the far right-hand side of the neighbor bar. Once you click on it, you’ll be taken to the Model Farm, which works similar to visiting your FarmVille neighbors.

On the Model Farm you will see quite a few Limited Edition items. Some of them may not be available, as they may have expired in the Market, or could be coming soon, and a few may be regular Market items. Each item that can be purchased will have a glowing price tag next to it that fades in and out over time. Move your mouse over that item and you can see what it is and if it’s available. If you want to know more, just click on it and you’ll see a preview window similar to what’s currently in use in the Market.

You can purchase items from the Model Farm by clicking the “buy” button. If you click “Send” you’ll get a window showing all of your Farmville neighbors. Please note this option may not be available for some items.

And as a special bonus, every day you visit the Model Farm you can get a special prize—just for showing up! Every so often the Model Farm will be refreshed when we have new Limited Edition themes or other things we want to show off.

FarmVille also started gearing up for Valentine’s Day a bit early this year with the release of Cupid’s Castle! Cupid’s Castle is a multi-level constructible building that you can build up now, and harvest for Valentines later. Similar to the Haunted House, you’ll be able to redeem these valentine’s for special goods at a later date.

You will get the initial frame for Cupid’s Castle for free the first time you play FarmVille after the update, and you will immediately be entered into Placement Mode. You can place the Cupid’s Castle frame on your farm now, or you can choose to place it in your Gift Box for use later. You must be at least Level 5 to place a Cupid’s Castle.

As stated earlier, Cupid’s Castle is a multi-level constructible building. Each level requires a different number of building parts to complete. Level 1 will require 12 Parts, Level 2 will require 45 parts and level 3 will require 60 parts in total.

Like many constructible building parts, you can acquire these items via neighbor requests, the free gifts page, Special Delivery Boxes and Farm Cash.

As you complete each level of Cupid’s Castle, it will become visually bigger and grander. Now, if you do not get Cupid’s Castle initially or wind up accidentally deleting it, you can purchase it in the Market under the Buildings tab.

Stay tuned for more information on Cupid’s Castle coming your way soon!
And lastly, we would like to share some information about the new collection limit. If you regularly visit the FarmVille Forums, you are probably already familiar with the information I am going to share. However, many of our users do not visit forums, so I would like to share the Producers Letter with everyone today.

Now, as we all know, FarmVille is, at its heart, a social game . A game that is fun because you can play it with your friends and family. We’ve heard from all of you that one of the most fun parts of the game is the ability to share cool items and rewards with your neighbors. Sharing that rare foal from your stable with friends, or sharing holiday gifts with your neighbors – these are the things that really show how important the social side of farming is to everyone.

We also know how exciting it is to see that someone you know has posted an animal or decoration you want for your farm, and how it can be a letdown if you don’t get that item. Especially if you never seem to get the items you want because they are gone in seconds.

Over the past year, a number of computer programs have been written that will automatically claim everything posted to the feeds. The result is that, while one person can get a massive number of rewards, everyone else is left out with almost no chance to get anything. We receive regular feedback from players who feel as if it’s not even worth trying to collect items and animals from their feed any more. Not only is this a bad experience for our players, but the use of these programs is a violation of the FarmVille Terms of Service.

To improve this experience for our players, we have recently implemented two changes to FarmVille.

Firstly, each player will have a maximum number of items that they can collect from a feed in a single day.

Secondly, Any player seen collecting a high number of feed items per second will also be subject to a throttle that will limit the speed they can collect items for the remainder of the day.

The vast majority of players will never hit either of these thresholds. Players who use programs to automate feed collection will quickly find that they are either dramatically slowed down or are stopped at their limit, and they will be unable to grab everything that is posted for the rest of that day.

Currently, our daily maximum is set to 125 feed items collected per day. This limit was selected after looking at feed item collection behavior in our game, and is meant to limit only the most extreme feed collectors – most of whom are using these automated programs. As mentioned, the vast majority of our players will never hit this limit. This limit will reset daily at 9:00 PM Pacific Standard Time. Wall to wall posts between two neighbors, barn raising help requests, and fuel posts do not count toward the 125 items limit.

Our goal is to make sure that both of these limits are restrictive enough to prevent automation software from creating bad experiences, but also high enough that most people playing the game are unaffected. We will be monitoring the results as we roll this out in the coming days, and may tune the limits over time. We invite and encourage you to provide your feedback in the FarmVille forums.

We would like to thank all our players for the time they spend playing our game with their friends and family, and we look forward to working with you to continually improve the experience.

If you have any feedback you would like to share with the FarmVille Team regarding the new collection limit, please make sure to visit the official FarmVille forums and let us know what you have to say.

Now for the coming soon segment this week, we have a very special guest named Charlie. He is here to share some news with everyone about our latest upcoming feature.

[“Good Afternoon, Farmers! Soon you will experience a new and exciting way to play your favorite game. We’re sure it’s going to be a jolly good adventure so make sure to keep an eye on your farm this week for some very exciting foreign news!”]

Thanks Charlie! And along with this special surprise, Farmers can also expect to see the new Glass House in the coming weeks. This three-stage expandable building will allow you to breed your own special crops that can be mastered. Each stage will unlock more breeding trays so you can create even more hybrid seeds.

Alright folks, well that’s it from me this week. Again, my name is Lexilicious, and I would like to thank everyone for tuning in this week. I will be back on February 4th to bring you all of the latest news from around the farm. Happy Farming!

FarmVille Podcast – Jan 7th!:

Hey Farmers and welcome to this week’s installment of the Official FarmVille Podcast. My name is Lexilicious, and I am here to bring you all the latest news and information about FarmVille from Zynga. This week, we will be discussing our latest releases and you will all be getting a sneak peek of things coming to FarmVille in the near future.

Now, due to the holiday season it’s been a few weeks since our last podcast and we have a lot to talk about today. But before we get into discussing all of our latest releases, I would like to give a quick thank you to all of the players who participated in our Winter Holiday Decorating Contest and Greeting Card contest. Not only did our players show off their ability to decorate a farm this year, they also showed us their skills with paper, coloring pencils and a whole lot of clichés. All of the winners of both of these events have been selected and can be seen in the Discussions section of the FarmVille Forums. Congratulations again to all of our winners, and make sure to enter our next contest for your chance to win big.

So this week, our major releases were Pig Pen expansion and the long awaited “open all” feature for Special Delivery Boxes. Now, the open All feature was only just released, so I would like to give a quick explanation of how it works for our listeners.

You now have the ability to open multiple Special Delivery Boxes at the same time, see the results of what you get, and have all of them inserted back into your Gift Box. No more massive amounts of clicking to see what’s inside!

For example. If you have 47 Special Delivery Boxes in your Gift Box and you click on the “use” button, you will see a new window open up asking how many SDB’s you want to open at once. The default is all of them; however, let’s just say you want to open just forty. Clicking on the up and down arrows will adjust how many you want to use.

Now all you need to do is click on “Use” to open up all those SDBs. Please note that you can click on “Cancel” to stop this process before you get started opening. Once you click on “Use” there’s no going back.

Once you choose to use the SDB’s you will see a message that lets you know that FarmVille is working diligently to open your boxes.

As a word of warning though, please wait until you see this message close before doing anything else (like refresh your browser). Opening up large quantities of SDBs can take a little bit of time, so you may have to wait up to a few minutes for the message to disappear. Please know that this is totally normal.

When FarmVille is finished opening up all the SDBs another window will pop up showing what you got. If there are more than six items you’ll need to use the arrows on the right (or left) to scroll through everything. Click on “Okay” and you’ll be sent to the Gift Box where all of your newly opened goodies will be waiting for you.

Pigpen expansion was also released on Tuesday, increasing the number of pigs that can be stored in your pigpen at any given time. You can expand your Pigpen twice and each expansion will increase the number of pigs you can store by ten and the total amount of Pig Slop by five.

You can start expanding the Pigpen by clicking on it and selecting “Look Inside”. At the top of the Pigpen window you’ll see an option to “Expand”.

Click on “Expand” and you will see how many parts you will need, (and how many you’ve already spent) on that current expansion. The first expansion will require thirty-six total parts and the second expansion will require sixty total parts.

Like other expansions, you can acquire these parts via Farm Cash, Neighbor Requests and Special Delivery Boxes.

As I said earlier, each expansion increases the Pigpen storage capacity by ten, and the amount of Pig Slop by five, so after all expansions the total amount of pigs you can hold is forty and Pig Slop is twenty.

Now both the SDB Open All feature and Pig Pen expansion are big releases, so as per usual, we are looking for your feedback. Please make sure to visit the official FarmVille forums if you have an opinion about our latest updates that you would like to share.

Alright! On that note, let’s go ahead and get into the coming soon segment of this week’s podcast. First up on our list this week is Duck Ponds. Duck pods will be a constructible item that you can use to store your ducks and swans. Similar to orchards, it will display up to 5 ducks or swans of your choice when being used. You will be able to collect from the Duck pond once per day. When doing so, you will have a chance to find a yellow or brown duckling. The type of duckling you receive will depend on the types of ducks in your pond. Once you produce a duckling, you will need your friends help to raise it. The faster your friends help you raise the duckling, the better your reward will be.

And similar to our haunted house feature, we will soon be releasing a new buildable Valentine’s Day item. I’ll have more details for you on the Valentine ’s Day feature as we get a little bit closer to February.

Alright folks, that’s it from me this week. Everyone on the FarmVille team hopes that all of our listeners had a safe and happy holiday season, and I will be back on January 21st with all of the latest news from around the Farm. Happy Farming everybody!

Now, before we get into discussing all of our newest features, I would like to give a quick thank you to all of the players who participated in the FarmVille Dessert Contest. We challenged everyone to bring FarmVille to life with ovens, flour and just a sprinkle of creativity. Well Farmers, you rose to the challenge like true baking champions. The cooks in our Dessert Contest whipped up some of the most creative and edible works of art we’ve ever seen. Choosing the winners of this contest was no easy task, but after much deliberation, the FarmVille Team decided upon the most creative, delicious and well presented FarmVille desserts. If you would like to check out our winning entries, please visit the official Farmville forums and congratulations again to our winners who will be walking away with 1000 Farm Cash and 1,000,000 Coins. Remember Farmers, these contests are a great way to showcase your talent and earn some extra farm cash, so make sure to enter next time for your chance to win big.

So the past couple of weeks for FarmVille have been absolutely packed with new features. From great new Winter Holiday themed items to brand new features, FarmVille has been going all out to celebrate the holidays this year.
First up was the release of the Winter Workshop. This new constructable building is the first major step to our FarmVille holiday season and soon enough you’ll be able to harvest special Holiday Gifts from the Winter Workshop for special use later. But first, however, just worry about getting them built as much as you can.

You’ll get the base for the Winter Workshop for free the first time you play FarmVille, and you will immediately be entered into Placement Mode. You can place the Winter Workshop base on your farm now, or you can choose to place it in your Gift Box for use later.

You’ll only be able to have one Winter Workshop at a time. If you sell yours and want another, you can find it in the Market for 5,000 coins. You’ll need to be level 5 in order to place and use the Winter Workshop.

Now, the basic Winter Workshop looks pretty but you’ll need to level it first before you can start using it to collect Holiday Gifts. To level your workshop, you will need to collect parts like our other constructible buildings. You can acquire these parts via the free gifts page, farm cash, special delivery boxes and neighbor requests.

Harvesting for Holiday Gifts will begin soon, so make sure to finish constructing those workshops soon.

Our other big feature this week was the release of quests. Now, this feature is currently only available to a randomly selected group of users, but I want to give everyone a quick explanation of how this release works so users who do have it understand the benefits, and players who don’t can be better prepared once it arrives.

Coupled together with the introduction of the Winter Workshop, the Winter Wonderland Quest is a mission to make your farm into a beautiful wonderland and earn some cool gifts along the way. To get started, click the quest icon located at the lower left-hand side of the game.

Clicking on this icon will bring up the quest window, which will display your current quest, your quest progress and objectives. Your first quest objectives are to Place a Winter Workshop on your farm and buy one Candy Arch from the Market.

You’ll see a green checkmark by the objectives you’ve already finished. Once you complete these objectives, you will be awarded a prize. The prizes will automatically be awarded to you and you’ll return to your farm. You also have the option to Share the special gift with your friends by making a post to your feed.

A new icon will show up if there is another quest to complete. Your next quest’s objectives are to change your landscape to the snow blanket, place 4 parts in your workshop and acquire holiday lights from your Neighbors. Once you complete this quest, you will receive a special reward. Now, the rest of the Winter Wonderland Quests are all similar in structure to the ones I’ve just explained. Now, I don’t want to give away all of the surprises, so get out there and start questing today. If you are in need of any additional information about this feature, or you have feedback that you would like to share with us, please make sure to visit the “Game Updates” section of the Official FarmVille forums.

Alright! So this week’s coming soon segment will actually give you guys a little bit more insight into a feature I know everyone has been waiting for. This year’s holiday tree will be making an appearance in FarmVille soon, but it works a little bit differently this year.

You will need to collect holiday gifts from your Neighbors and place them into your tree. As you add more gifts, the tree will grow and change in appearance. As you collect gifts, you will be able to redeem your gifts for special prizes along the way as you unlock them. Similar to how the Haunted House could be used to collect Candy, the Winter Workshop will become harvestable for holiday gifts once the tree is released.

Keeping with the holiday spirit, when you redeem a special prize, instead of sharing an extra one via your feed as per usual, we’re going to let you pick which friends you would like to send it to as a present. Players who participate in this feature may also see a special present from Zynga this year, so make sure to keep an eye out for this release in the near future.
And lastly, we have the new snowman feature coming to farmville in the coming weeks. Players will be able to have snowball fights with their friends by visiting their farms or joining in on other friends snowball fights. With all of that snow being thrown, you will eventually end up with a big pile of it. You can use this pile of snow to build a Snowman, that may even dance for you if you can find the right item for it.

Alright folks, that’s it from me this week. Again, my name is Lexilicious and I will be back on December 17th to bring you all of the latest news from around the Farm. Happy Farming everybody!

Hey Farmers and welcome to this week’s installment of the Official FarmVille Podcast! My name is Lexilicious and I am here to bring you all of the latest news and information about FarmVille from Zynga. This week, we will be discussing our latest releases and you guys will all be getting an exclusive sneak peek of things coming to FarmVille in the near future.

This week we will be spending a majority of the Podcast discussing our new Thanksgiving Feast and new Limited Edition items, however before we get into the details of our latest releases, I would like to give everyone a quick reminder about our latest Community Event. Now, we know that our Farmers can harvest crops, plow fields and tend to livestock like no one else. But the holiday season is fast approaching, and the FarmVille team has decided to celebrate the fall harvest a little differently this year.

It’s time for everyone to get off their tractors, put down their pitchforks and grab an apron! We want to see FarmVille come to life… in baked form! Get those creative juices flowing and recreate your favorite FarmVille themes, animals or decorations into yummy desserts and post a picture on the forums for us to see.

We’ll be picking five winners for the best cakes, five winners for the best cookies, and five winners for any original dessert! (This means you can make pies, cupcakes or whatever dessert your heart desires). Bonus points will be given to farmers who name their desert and give us a brief explanation of their creation.

The winners from each category will be receiving 1000 Farm Cash, 1,000,000 Coins and any Limited Edition FarmVille item of your choice (as long as it is currently available in-game or has been previously released*).

Now, there seems to be a little bit of confusion around how this event works, so I just want to re-iterate that this contest requires you to go out to your grocery store, bake something for us in real life, take a photograph of your creation and post it on the Official FarmVille forums. This is not an in-game event.

The dessert contest will be ending at 6:00 PM on December 1st, so pre-heat those ovens, grab your flour and enter today for your chance to win big.
And as we all know, It’s now the season to give thanks in FarmVille and what better way of doing that than distributing some tasty Dishes to your neighbors and collecting enough to redeem some exclusive prizes along the way? The new Thanksgiving Feast allows players to not only show their generosity to their Neighbors, but also gives you a chance to earn brand new items for your Farm.

You’ll get your Thanksgiving Feast for free the first time you play FarmVille, and you will immediately be entered into Placement Mode. You can place the Thanksgiving Feast on your farm now, or you can choose to place it in your Gift Box for use later. You’ll need to be level 5 or higher in order to place and use this new feature.

Once the Thanksgiving Feast is on the farm you can click on it, then select “Look Inside” to see information on your Feast. The Thanksgiving Feast works like many of the other “basket”-type events in FarmVille. You can gather various Dishes and put them into the Feast and then redeem these Dishes for one of six exclusive prizes like the “Thank Ewe” and “Harvest Fountain”.

You can acquire Dishes by Requesting a Dish from your neighbors directly, purchasing Dishes with Farm Cash, Opening Special Delivery Boxes and Harvesting your Turkey Roost.

As you gather the Dishes in your Gift Box, just click on the “Use” button and they’ll go into your Thanksgiving Feast. The corn meter will fill up on the left side of the Feast window as you add in more Dishes. You can click on the “Comparison” button to compare how many Dishes you’ve accumulated with your neighbors.

There are 5 dishes available on the free gifts page that you can redeem for Prizes. To get a prize, simply click on the “Redeem” button next to the prize you want. if you have enough Dishes, you’ll be asked to confirm the purchase, and if you hit “Accept” the prize will be stored in your Gift Box.
The look of the Thanksgiving Feast on the farm and your event “title” also changes depending on how many Dishes you’ve accumulated. The more dishes you have gathered, the more colorful and elaborate your Feast will be.
If you sell the Thanksgiving Feast, you can purchase a new one for 5,000 coins in the Market. After December 1, 2010 you will no longer be able to gift additional Dishes, ask for additional Dishes, or purchase Dishes with Farm Cash from the Market. The Thanksgiving Feast will also be removed from the Market and Dishes will no longer be available with the Special Delivery Box.

Along with the new Thanks giving feast, we have also released new Limited Edition Thanksgiving items and a very enchanting new theme. The Agricultural Alchemy Limited Edition set was introduced on Tuesday, bringing with it some very magical new items, like the Sorcerer Pig and the Griffin. For anyone who has purchased the Sorcerer Pig, please know that we are working on fixing the animation for this item, so your pigs will soon fly around your farm as originally intended. Now, our Agricultural Alchemy theme is a completely different take on our Limited Edition items, and we are very interested to hear your feedback about this particular style of art. Are you a fan of items with a fantasy theme? Or would you prefer that our Limited Edition sets were more realistic? Make sure to let us know what you have to say by visiting the “feedback” section of the Official FarmVille forums.
And on that note, let’s get into the coming soon segment of this week’s podcast!

First up, I want to let everyone know that the Limited Edition Winter Holiday items will start in the very near future, and will feature re-releases of some of your favorite items from last year!

We will also be releasing expansion for your Chicken Coops and the new Winter Workshop! The Winter Workshop is a constructable building from which you can harvest coins. When the Holiday Tree makes its debut, you will also be able to collect special goodies that will help you make presents!

Be on the lookout for all of these great new features in the coming weeks and make sure to tune into our future podcasts for more details. Alright folks, that’s it from me this week. Again, my name is Lexilicious and I would like to thank everyone for listening. I will be back December 3rd to bring you all the latest news and information from around the Farm. Happy Farming everybody!
