This week’s Official FarmVille Podcast for July 23rd 2010 is live! FarmVille’s Community Manager, Lexilicious, is this week’s host.

While this week’s Podcast mostly covers a summary of the tutorial on Crafting Buildings and how they work, some more exciting news from the Podcast reveals that FarmVille will be making an effort to concentrate on technical issues and bugs, instead of releasing enormous amounts of new content. Many disgruntled farmers will be happy to hear this news considering that oftentimes new content overshadows the annoying bugs and errors that slow down our farming.

You can listen to the Podcast by playing the video above, read the FarmVille Freak Summary below, or read the entire official transcript provided by Zynga at the bottom of the post.

FarmVille Freak FarmVille Podcast Summary (July 23rd 2010)

Crafting Buildings

Why do some users have access and others don’t? To insure the stability of the app and to be sure that it is being used as intended. Eventually all farmers will have access.

Pick your profession from Winery, Bakery, or Spa. Each building has their own unique Recipes and required Goods.

Everyone starts with a Good that is one minute from completion.

To make Recipes will need to collect Bushels from your friends or collect your own.

After making Goods, they will need time to “Cook”.

Selling Goods improves existing Recipes and unlocks new ones.

Selling Goods to your neighbor gives you 1 XP for your Recipe points.

All farmers earn 90% of items sold.

Leveling your Crafting Building unlocks new Recipes and also improves your business’ success.

Higher level Recipes yield higher Goods.

Crafting Buildings currently can only be leveled up to 5 star levels.

You can trade in crafted Goods for Fuel rewards.

You may only have 200 crafted Goods in your inventory at one time.

If you want both buildings you can purchase with farm cash for 80 farm cash.

COMING SOON

FarmVille has finally listened to lots of farmers including FarmVille Freaks requests! They are planning to release a smaller amount of content and fix bugs instead!Especially since the release of the Crafting Buildings, they want to give users adequate amount of time to absorb this feature and start using it before we are bombarded with more stuff!

More New England themed limited edition items including: New England Mansion, Minature Horse, and Coastal Beach.

Are you happy with FarmVille’s decision to work on quality control and improvement of in-game errors and bugs over providing new content?

Please find the Transcript of this week’s podcast below:

FarmVille Podcast – July 23rd:

Hey Farmers and welcome to this week’s installment of the Official FarmVille Podcast! My name is Lexilicious and I am here to bring you all of the latest news about FarmVille from Zynga. This week’s podcast will be slightly different from others we have had in the past. As I am sure some of you know, the new Crafting feature was released this week… and it’s a big one. We will be spending most of this week’s podcast walking through this new feature which will provide some helpful tips for users who already have access to it, and it will give people who don’t have the Crafting feature a heads up as to what to expect when it reaches them. In addition to this, I will be giving you guys a very brief sneak peek as to what will be coming to FarmVille in the near future.

Now, I have seen a lot of questions from players lately asking why some users have the Crafting Buildings and others don’t. Please be aware that this feature is being rolled out gradually to all of our users to ensure the stability of the app and to make sure it is working as intended. I know it can be frustrating to have to wait for a big release, but please know we would not choose to release the feature this way if we did not feel it was important to do so.

And on that note, let’s get into a quick walk through of FarmVille’s latest release.

If you are level 25 and above, you will be able to turn your bushels into crafted goods with the new Crafting Buildings.

Once you have access to this feature, upon logging into FarmVille, you will see a tutorial. This tutorial explains the basic functionality of this release. I want to highly suggest that all of our players take the time to participate in this tutorial so you can better understand how Crafting works.

Once you have read the information, it’s to pick your profession. There are three types of Crafting Buildings available; The Winery, Bakery and Spa. Each building features its own unique set of recipes you can use to create crafted goods.

If you did not pick a profession when the Crafting Buildings preview was released, you will see a different pop-up than users who have. This pop-up shows you how many of your friends have selected each type of building. Clicking “What is this” will give you more detailed information on each of the buildings. Once you have decided on your profession, clicking “Yes, Place” will close the pop-up and let you place your new building on your Farm for free.

If you already selected a profession in the Crafting Buildings preview, you will receive a different pop-up. If you are happy with your initial selection, simply click “yes, place”. If you would like to choose a different profession at this time, click “choose another”. This will bring you to the menu mentioned above where you can select the building of your choice.

Your Buildings Recipe menu will automatically appear once you have placed your building.

In this menu, you will start with a good that is 1 minute from completion. You will also see one empty crafting spot.

Clicking on “Make a good” will bring you to your recipes menu. Here, you will be able to make your first crafted good. Depending on what profession you have selected, your default recipe will be different. Click “Make it” from the bottom of the menu to create your good. Remember, to make recipes, you need to collect bushels from your friends. These bushels are the key ingredients for your goods. If you would like more information on obtaining Bushels, please visit the Official FarmVille forums for a guide on the Farmers Market feature.

Once you have made your good, it needs time to cook. Click on “Make Goods” to return to the main menu. Once you have done this, you will see that the level 10 good you started with is now complete.

Clicking on “goods I am selling” from the crafting menu will show you the goods you currently have for sale. Selling goods improves existing recipes and unlocks new ones! Each time you sell a good to your Neighbors, you will receive 1 recipe experience point. One important thing to know is that selling your goods is the easiest and most efficient way to level your recipes.
Down the bottom of this menu is your “Sales Report”. This report shows you what goods you have sold and how many were purchased. If Neighbors purchased from your store while you were away, a bouncing arrow will appear over your building.

All farmers earn 90% of the sale price of items sold. The Daily Sales Report will display the amount of total coins and experience earned in your absence.
Now, if you wish to make a thriving business, you will need to level your Building. The level of your Building determines the number of crafting spots you have available for use. Leveling your building will also unlock new recipes. You can level your Building with Farm Cash by clicking the “Cash Upgrade” option or you can level with coins by unlocking the option. To unlock the coin option, you have to level a certain amount of recipes.

Now, leveling a recipe is quite simple. Each time you make a recipe, it will count towards your level progress. Simply keep making goods of that type to level your recipe up. The higher level your recipe is, the better your crafted goods will be. There is no limit on how high you can level your recipes.
Currently, your Crafting Building can only be upgraded to 5 Stars. Once you have a 5 star Building, the buttons to level with coins/cash will disappear.
In addition to selling your crafted goods to your friends, they can also be traded for rewards. To access goods that you have in your inventory, click “Use” from the crafting menu and select “Goods”.

This menu will display how many crafted goods are in your possession. Please note that you can only have 200 Crafted Goods in your inventory at a time.
If you click the “use” button underneath a good, you will trade it for fuel. The higher the level of the crafted good you use, the more fuel you will get. You can see your fuel gauge increase within the inventory menu. Please know that in the future, there will be additional rewards for trading crafted goods besides fuel, so make sure you work on leveling your recipes before they make an appearance!

Alright, now that you know how to use your own crafted goods, it’s time to move on to purchasing goods and bushels from your friends. There are two different ways you can visit your Neighbors Buildings.

From the Crafting menu, click “Buy”. You will then see the option to select “Shop for Goods” or “Shop for Bushels”.

From this menu, you can select the type of good you would like to purchase. Clicking “select” underneath a good will bring up another menu that will automatically display the highest level goods for sale first.

Alternatively, when visiting a friends Farm, simply click on their crafting building to open the menus mentioned above.

Upon purchasing an item from your Neighbor’s store, you will receive a pop-up allowing you to post a feed to their wall informing them of your actions. The first 3 Neighbors to click this feed within 24 hours will receive 1 good of the same type as the one you purchased.

Remember, Goods purchased from your Neighbors can also be traded for fuel, so make sure to visit their shops often.

And if for some reason you wish to delete your Crafting Building, all progress on the level of the Building and recipes will be saved. However, you will lose all goods that are being sold in your store. If you wish to purchase a new Crafting Building, it can be purchased from the “Buildings” section of the Market for 100,000 coins, provided you do not have any other Crafting Buildings on your farm at the time. If you wish to purchase the two additional Buildings, they can be bought for 80 Farm Cash apiece. This ability to purchase a different building for coins is very important, as you can change your profession later on if you do not like the building you currently have.

If you are looking for a more detailed guide on how this new release works, it can be found in the “game updates” section of the FarmVille Forums. And as with all of our big features, we want to hear your feedback. If you have any thoughts or opinions you would like to share with us about the new Crafting Buildings feature, please make sure to visit the Official FarmVille forums or www.famville.com.

Now this week’s coming soon segment is going to be much smaller than normal Farmers. Over the past few months, we have been hearing tons of feedback from you guys expressing that we release a smaller amount of content and focus more on fixing bugs. Well, we’ve heard you. The FarmVille team just released an enormous feature, and we want to give you a chance to absorb Crafting Buildings before throwing more big stuff at you. Right now, let us clean up the experience for a bit and we will have more great content for you soon.

However, I am happy to let you know that over the coming weeks, we will continue to release more stuff from the New England theme to help you finish decorating those Farms, including great items like the Miniature Horse, New England Mansion, a coastal beach and more.

Alright folks, that’s it from me this week. Again, my name is Lexi and I would like to thank everyone for listening. I will back next week to bring you all of the latest news from around the Farm. Happy Farming everyone!”

FarmVille Podcast – June 18th:

Hey Farmers, and welcome to this week’s installment of the Official FarmVille Podcast! My name is Lexilicious and I am here to bring you all of the latest news and information about FarmVille from Zynga. This week, we have been very busy with all of the new updates and releases, so this week’s podcast is going to be a little shorter than usual. I am going to give you guys a quick re-cap of our latest releases and of course, you guys will all be getting a sneak peek of things coming to FarmVille in the future.

So this week proved to be another very exciting week for FarmVille, with tons of new highly requested features and Limited Edition items being released.

Much to the excitement of many of our higher level players, On Tuesday we raised the level cap. Levels 70 through 90 were released, along with new high level crops, items and gifts. All of the new crops are level 50 and above and some require previous crops to be mastered before they can be unlocked. Now, if you have some high level friends, make sure to ask them for some of the great new high level gifts like the Dutch Rabbit and the Mangrove Tree.

More Limited Edition Island themed items were also released, which will allow any players who are getting into this theme to further decorate your farms. Yesterday’s release of Island items was the last installment of this particular theme, so if you are interested in turning your farm into a tiki paradise, make sure to pick up these Limited Edition items before they disappear from the market.

Now, one of the most exciting releases this week was the addition of rotatable buildings! Most buildings in FarmVille can now be rotated, which will allow you to decorate your farm with ease. Currently, there are some buildings that are not yet able to be rotated, but please know that we will be adding the rotation functionality to most of these items in the near future. If you would like a detailed list of what items cannot be rotated as of yet, please visit the official FarmVille Forums and check out our “updates and announcements” section for more information.

And to celebrate this long awaited and highly requested update, we have also re-released some of your favorite old Limited Edition buildings for a short time. If you missed out on some of our French Chateau items or maybe you have been dying to pick up the Adobe house… well, now is your chance. These re-released buildings will be in the Market for another 7 days.

On Wednesday, we also made some minor tweaks to the Tuscan Wedding feature that I am sure most of you will enjoy. In addition to extending the Tuscan Wedding event until June 29th, now, whenever you send any Tuscan Wedding gifts to your friends they will receive more. Instead of only sending one item per Tuscan Wedding Gift, your friends will automatically receive 2. We have also discounted the favor cost of the cake, sheep, Pig Art, Apollo Butterfly, fountain and Tower so obtaining these items should be significantly easier for everyone.

And as most of our users may know, yesterday marked FarmVille’s 1 year Anniversary! As a thank you to all of our dedicated farmers for your continuous support, a special gift was given to all of our players that can be found in your Gift Box the next time you log in. We also released the first installment of the Limited Edition Japanese theme last night, along with 7 new flags and the new Cupcake crop! The cupcake crop is a limited edition crop that is required for the new 1st anniversary co-op mission that also made an appearance with last night’s release. For anyone who may be interested, the cupcake crop is an 8 hour crop, costs 25 coins to plant, yields 60 coins when harvested and is one of the few Limited Edition crops that can be mastered.

And lastly, the wheat crop has been changed, as I mentioned a few weeks ago. The wheat crop is now a 12 hour crop, costs 13 coins to plant, gives 1 experience point and yields 61 coins when harvested. This change was made because the wheat crop will be a key component in the new Crafting Cottages feature and we did not want users having to use a multi-day crop for their first recipes.

And as with all of our big updates, we want to hear your feedback. If you have an opinion you would like to share or an idea for how you think we can improve farmville, please make sure to visit our official FarmVille forums or talk to us on Twitter at www.twitter.com/zfarmville.

Alright! On that note, it’s time for you guys to get a sneak peek of things coming to FarmVille in the near future.

So our new Japanese Garden theme will be continuing through next week, so expect to see even more Limited Edition Japanse items in the near future. This theme will also be bringing with it a new buildable Japanese Barn. The Japanese Barn will be a limited edition storage building.

We also have a new feature being released soon that our baby animal lovers will enjoy. Soon, you will be able to get piglets from your friends by rescuing an expecting lost pig.

And lastly, an all new Mystery Box will be coming next week that will have one of your favorite feathered friends from a looooong time ago in it.

Alright folks, that’s it from me this week. I will be back next Friday to give you all of the latest news and information from around the farm. Again, my name is Lexilicious and I would like to thank everyone for listening.

Happy Farming everybody!

Official FarmVille Transcript for June 14th 2010

FarmVille Podcast – June 14th:

Hey Farmers, and welcome to this week’s installment of the Official FarmVille Podcast! My name is Lexilicious and I am here to bring you all of the latest news and information about FarmVille from Zynga. This week, we will be discussing our latest releases, I will be answering some questions from members of the FarmVille Community, and you guys will all be getting a sneak peek of things coming to FarmVille in the future.

We had another week absolutely jam packed with new items for you guys to decorate your farms with. On Tuesday, the first installment of our new Island Theme made an appearance in FarmVille, bringing with it some items unlike any other you may have seen in FarmVille before. This new theme is very different from others we have released, which is wonderful for any users who are looking for a little variety in their game, or for those of you who like to stand out in a crowd. The new Island theme includes some great new animals and crops as well. The Spider Monkey, Pelican and Island Pig can now be found in the market along with the new Pink Hibiscus and Flamingo Flower.

For anyone who may be interested, the Pink Hibiscus is a 22 hour crop, costs 140 Coins and Yields 310 coins when harvested. The Flamingo Flower is a 16 hour crop, costs 35 coins and yields 200 coins when harvested. Both of these crops are limited edition so they cannot be mastered and they will only be around for short time, so make sure to plant them while you still can.

Along with the new Island themed limited Edition items, the new Soccer theme also made an appearance this week, along with the “Tea Party” Cop-op mission and the level 5 trick for your dogs. Remember, different breeds will do different things to help you around the farm, like fetching consumables, harvesting cows and harvesting sheep.

We also have a new feature that has been implemented as a thank you to our users for signing up for email! For a limited time only, we will be giving out fuel to users who are level 12 or above that you can only claim through email.

You will receive 1 email a day for the next two weeks containing free fuel. However, make sure that you claim your offer quickly because each fuel bonus expires within 24 hours. And the best part of this special promotion? You have the chance to get up to 3 tanks of fuel each day!

And on Tuesday, the new Crafting Cottages Preview made its debut in FarmVille! This preview will give you a sneak peek of the upcoming Crafting Cottages feature and provide you with some valuable information.
Upon logging into FarmVille, you will see a pop-up that shows the three new Crafting Cottages. The Bakery, Winery and Spa.
Clicking “Learn More” will show you a sneak peek of some of the recipes each crafting cottage can build.

Clicking the “Sign up” button will sign you up for one of the three professions. Upon doing this, you will receive a special Limited Edition gift as a thank you.

If you choose your profession and regret your decision, never fear farmers. Your choice of profession isn’t locked in. You will have the opportunity to change your mind about which crafting cottage you want to use when the feature is released.

Now, make sure to start collecting bushels ahead of time so you’ll be ready to go when the Crafting Cottages are released! Since this pop-up will only appear once, you can find the details of some of the upcoming recipes on the Official FarmVille forums.

And as you guys know, thousands of questions are submitted to the FarmVille team each week and the best ones are answered here.
Our first question this week comes to us from Jaime154, and her question is something I know many of you want answered. Jaime would like to know how many Nursery Barns you guys are allowed to have on your farms.

Well, since the release of Nursery Barns, a glitch came to our attention that allows users to have more than one Nursery Barn. This is not the intended functionality of this feature and the ability to have more than one Nursery is a glitch.

We are intending on fixing this issue in the future, however we have decided to allow users to have the ability to possess two Nursery Barns on their farm.

Please know that if you continue to take advantage of this glitch and choose to have more than two Nurseries on your farm, you are building at your own risk, as this issue will be addressed in the future. This fix may result in the loss of any Nursery Barns in excess of two.
Our second question comes to us from Nabby Sensai. “I want to know if zynga allows other animals besides dogs at work too. Are there ever cats at work and do the dogs chase them?”

In fact, Zynga is more than just dog friendly. Pets of all shapes and sizes are allowed at work, as long as they are relatively well behaved. I have seen a few cats wandering around the office, but usually they are smart enough to steer clear of the dogs here. Much to the delight of the members of the FarmVille team, last Thursday, one of our artists actually brought his rabbit with him to work. So to answer your question… yes, other animals are allowed here at Zynga.

And our last question is from Nana25 and this one is also something I see asked very frequently around the forums. “What constitutes a “unit” of gas”?
This one is actually quite simple. If you receive a unit of fuel from a feature, it is enough fuel for one plot of land. For example, if you have 100 plots on your farm and you wish to use a vehicle that costs fuel to tend to them, you would need to obtain 100 units of fuel.

Alright! That’s it for user submitted questions for this week. Remember, if you have a question you would like answered by a member of the FarmVille team, please make sure to visit the Official FarmVille forums or www.farmville.com for more information.

Now, due to some internal changes, we will be temporarily be removing the Tip of the week segment for a couple of weeks, however we will be bringing it back as soon as we are able, since so many of you have requested to see it return.

And on that note, it’s time for the part of the podcast I am sure all of you skip forward to hear… it’s time for a sneak peek of things coming your way in the near future!

So first up, we are going to be making some adjustments to the Wheat crop. Soon, it will become a 12 hour crop and we will be adjusting the cost, yield, and mastery numbers to bring it in line with its new grow time. We’re doing this because wheat will be a pretty common component in some of the crafting cottage recipes and we don’t want you guys to be using a crop with a multiple-day grow time in your first recipes.

Now the second thing on the list this week is Dairy Barn Expansion! That’s right folks, expansion for your dairies will be coming soon as per your request.

And lastly, we have a release coming your way in the next couple of weeks that I am sure many of you will enjoy. Now, if anyone who is listening frequents the “suggestions” section of the FarmVille forums, you will know that bees are one of the most requested items we see. Well, not only will you see bees soon… we are making an entire feature around them! So make sure to keep an eye out for this upcoming release and the others in the near future.

Alright folks, that’s it from me this week. Again, my name is Lexilicious and thank you all so much for listening. I will be back this coming Friday with all of the latest news and information from around the Farm.
Happy Farming!

FarmVille Podcast – June 4th:

Hey Farmers, and welcome to this week’s installment of the Official FarmVille Podcast! My name is Lexilicious and I am here to bring you all of the latest news and information about FarmVille from Zynga. This week, we will be discussing our latest releases, you guys will all be getting a sneak peek of things coming to FarmVille in the future, and we have a very special guest with us today to answer some questions from the FarmVille community!

This week featured lots of great new Limited Edition items, as well as some great new features.

The new “Move” and “Recycle” tools made an appearance this week, allowing users to more easily decorate and rearrange their farms. To access the Move tool, Simply click the Hand icon from the multi-tool menu to enter decoration mode. When in this mode, you will be able to move items with a single click, including plots!

When using the Move tool, you can also use the space bar to rotate applicable items when they are being held.

The new Recycle tool can be used to quickly clean up your farm. This new tool can be accessed by clicking the Recycle symbol in the Multi Tool menu.

The recycle tool will delete items with no value and sell items with coin value. In addition, the Recycle tool includes a “Quick Delete” mode. Quick delete will not warn you about selling or deleting any object worth less than 1,000 coins that is not a limited edition item when enabled.

Quick Delete will also give you an option to choose not to be warned about selling or deleting specific types of items until another tool is used. The new FarmVille Biplane was also released this week, which allows you to grow all of your crops instantaneously by applying an eco-friendly mix from the sky!

The Biplane can be purchased from the “Vehicles” Tab of the Market for 30,000 coins and is unlocked at level 12. Alternatively, you can obtain the Biplane by obtaining a Gold Medal in the new “Peanut Butter Jelly Time” Co-op that was released on Thursday.

Applying Instant Grow with the Biplane costs Farm Cash. The amount of Farm Cash you pay is dependent on how much time is left until your crops mature and how many seeded plots are on your farm. After you first purchase your Biplane, you are entitled to one free application of Instant Grow. To use it, simply click on the Biplane and select “Apply Instant Grow”.
And lastly, new Limited Edition Tuscan Items and the new Birthday themed decorations are now available in the market, along with the new “Cracked” Achievement.

Alright! And that’s about it for new releases this week! On that note, let’s go ahead and get into answering some questions submitted by members of the FarmVille Community! Today, we have a special guest with us who has graciously taken time out of her busy day to sit down and answer some questions from the community about the 7/11 promotion that is currently running.

Our first question comes to us from Ar-nak-nag-sak, and they would like to know “What made FarmVille decide to partner with 7-11 for a promotion?”
Here is what Danielle had to say about this question.
Hi Farmers, my name is Danielle and I work on Product Marketing for FarmVille. I’ve been on the team for close to a year and have seen FarmVille grow into something that has brought enjoyment to millions of players around the globe.

As FarmVille has grown, so has the opportunity to partner with other companies to expand our brand. One such company was 7-Eleven. What initially started as bringing FarmVille to Slurpee cups turned into an opportunity to work with 7-Eleven on a full fledge promotion that involved numerous Zynga branded 7-Eleven merchandise, Zynga marketing posters in and around the store, and the ability for consumers to earn exclusive virtual items.

Our next question comes to us from Icanhazbeez. “Why is this promotion only available to the US, and not to international users?”

While we would have loved to bring this promotion to our international community, we work with all of our partners on an individual basis and due to a number of different variables, including time restraints, we were not able to bring the 7/11 promotion to our international users.

However, It was amazing that we were able to bring this promotion to US and Canadian users within the time frame that we had, although we are still open to future promotions that will include our international community.
And finally, our last question comes to us from Super Woman. “Will there be more future promotions similar to 7-11?”

Due to the popularity of the 7/11 promotion, we will be looking into more opportunities like this in the future. I would personally like to thank everyone who has participated in the 7-eleven promotion and we are very interested in hearing your feedback. Please make sure to visit the official farmville forums with any ideas or suggestions.

Thanks for having me on the podcast. I may be back in the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned.

Alright, awesome. I want to give a big thank you to Danielle for taking time out of her busy schedule to sit down and talk with us today. And going forward, we will be doing our best to get other members of the FarmVille team to sit down with us to discuss new features and answer questions from the community.

So for this week’s coming soon segment, I actually have some information for you guys on something I mentioned very briefly a few months ago in one of our earlier podcasts. The FarmVille team has recently been spending a lot of time coming up with content for our higher level players. Because of that, I am very excited to let you know that in the near future, we will be raising the level cap of 70, and adding more levels to FarmVille! Soon, you will be able to level up to level 100 and beyond. We will also be introducing new high level crops that can only be planted with a special one time purchase Permit and crops that require another crop to be mastered before they can be planted.

Along with the great new crops and additional levels, new high level coin items and gifts will soon be available to our most dedicated farmers.

Make sure to also keep an eye out for the Crafting Cottage preview, where you can find out about these three upcoming buildings and what they can produce. Learn which bushels are required to make some of the crafted goods and make sure to claim your special gift for participating in the preview!

And lastly, as a thank you to our users who have provided us with their email addresses, we will soon be emailing out fuel once a day for 2 weeks to anyone who has signed up for email.

Alright Folks, that’s it from me this week. I will be back next Friday to give you all of the latest news and information from around the Farm. Again, my name is Lexilicious, and I will see you soon. Happy farming everybody!

FarmVille Podcast – May 28th:

Hey Farmers and welcome to the Official FarmVille Podcast! My name is Lexilicious and I am in charge of all things community over here on the FarmVille team. As per usual, I am here to bring you all of the latest news and information about FarmVille from Zynga. This week, we will be discussing our latest releases, I will be answering some user submitted questions from members of the FarmVille community and you guys will all get a sneak peek of things coming to FarmVille in the near future. I am also happy to announce that our Tip of the Week segment has returned due to popular demand, and will be hosted from here on out by our very own Channel Zero!

So this week turned out to be jam packed with both new features and tons of Limited Edition items for everyone to enjoy.

Our most exciting release was the appearance of the long awaited Farmers Market!

At level 15 or higher, the Farmer’s Market allows you to collect bushels from harvested crops that can be used to get bonuses for yourself, or given to neighbors!

Collecting bushels is simply done by harvesting your regular crops. In much the same way that you can harvest Perfect Bunches from Flower crops, you’ll be able collect bushels from all permanent crops available in the Market. When you find your first bushel, you will get a Market Stall.

Alternatively, if you do not wish to wait, you can also purchase a Market Stall in the Buildings section of the Market for either coins or Farm Cash.

Please remember that you are limited to 5 Market Stalls on your farm in total. Each Market Stall you have can sell one type of crop. Once you’ve got your Market Stall in place, you can start collecting bushels to use yourself, or to let neighbors collect by harvesting your crops.

You can access your Market Stall’s menu by selecting “Farmer’s Market” from its pull down menu. Inside, you can see what bushels you’ve collected from your neighbors in the My Bushels section, what bushels your neighbors have available in the Get Bushels section and what bushels your stall is offering in the My Stall section.

Clicking the Get Bushels button will show you all of the bushels that your neighbors are currently offering. From here you can select any available bushels, and it will display a list of each neighbor that has the crop available, and how long their Stall is open for. Selecting a specific neighbor will take you to their Stall.

Bushels taken from your friend’s Stall are added to your inventory, which can be seen in the My Bushels section of your Stall. Once you’ve collected bushels, either from finding them on your own farm or taking them from your neighbors, they’re all displayed in your inventory. You can hold up to 50 bushels in your inventory, and each bushel can be shared or used. Clicking the Share button on any bushel will allow you to offer up a number of bushels of your choosing to your friends, via a feed.

Clicking the Use button consumes one of the selected bushels and gives you a bonus. The type of bonus depends on whether you have access to the crop or not. If the bushel used is for a crop you can plant, you receive a bonus of +1 Mastery whenever that crop is harvested on your farm for two hours. If you have already mastered this crop, the bonus is +1 experience point per harvest.

If you use a bushel of a crop that you are not high enough of a level to plant, you’ll receive a license to plant that crop that lasts for two hours.
Along with being able to collect and use bushels from Market Stalls, you can receive a reward of your choice whenever neighbors use your Stall!

The next time you return to your farm, if your neighbors have used your Market Stall an arrow will point to the appropriate Stall. Viewing the interior of the Stall will show you the three rewards that you can choose from. Coins, Fuel and Experience Points.

Now the Farmer’s Market is a big addition to FarmVille. Because of this, we want to hear your feedback. If you have any opinions you would like to share with us regarding this new feature, please make sure to visit the “Feedback” section of the Official FarmVille forums and let us know what you have to say.
The ability to grow up your baby animals in your Nursery Barn was also released this week, allowing players to raise their foals and calves into an all new adult animals that you can keep!

Depending on what animals are in your Nursery Barn, you have a chance of them growing up into a new Chocolate Cow, Holstein Cow, Black Horse, Cream Draft Horse and a Light Blue Pony when tending to your Nursery Barn.

Now, I have seen lots of questions from people already, who are unhappy that the baby animals do not grow up into their exact adult counterpart. For example, a Kelly green calf will not grow up into a Kelly green cow, it will grow up into one of the new animals I mentioned above. We made the feature the way it is, because many of the cows and horses that produce foals and calves can only be purchased with Farm Cash. It would be highly unfair to the people who purchased these animals for cash to have their friends and neighbors be able to grow their foals and calves up into the same animals for free.

Hopefully that clears things up a little bit for you guys. If you have any more questions about this new feature, please head on over to the Official FarmVille forums for more information.

And on that note, let’s go ahead and get into answering some questions submitted by members of the FarmVille community!

Our first question comes to us today from seidel mx3. “After read the last podcast about bushels, my question is: What happened with the “functional” buildings, like the perfumery, winery and fuel workshop?”

The Perfumery, Winery and Workshop some of you saw in the Market awhile ago, was a test we were doing on those features. While they were not yet functional, we do plan on releasing them in the near future. The buildings you saw were part of our crafting system. We are following up the new Farmers Market with a feature that will allow you to use bushels to craft special goods that you can trade with your friends. Players will be able to choose between several crafting buildings, each with their own unique benefits.

So make sure to keep an eye out for this new feature in the coming weeks.

Our next question comes to us from Mickey Mixx, and they would like to know how long it takes me to prepare the information and research the user submitted questions prior to recording.

Well, the time it takes to pick the questions can vary. I do my best to find questions that fit within the parameters of the segment, as well as ones that will be of interest to the community. Doing this can take me anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. Once I have the questions, I usually need to gather information. Depending on how busy the rest of the FarmVille team is, this can take me anywhere from an hour, to a few days. So in total, it does take some time to gather the information for the coming soon segment of the podcast, but it’s totally worth it for you guys to get some insight into how things work over here on FarmVille.

And now I am going to hand you guys over to Channel Zero, who is here to give us our Tip of the Week.

Howdy folks, it’s Channel Zero with your FarmVille Tip of the Week. Each week I’ll be giving you a couple of tips you can use to manage your farm a bit more effectively. This week, I’ve got one for those of you who are new to the game and a special tip for those of you currently tackling the Farmer’s Market.

First up, for those of you just starting up your Farm, I know you might be tempted to try and fill your Farm up with as many plots as you can right away, but hold off. Start out with just a few, plant some crops and get used to the game. One mistake new Farmers make often is adding so many plots to start that they don’t have enough coins left for the crops to plant in them. Take your time. You’ll be tending to a Mighty Plantation in no time.

Next, for all you Farming veterans currently gathering bushels from your neighbors in the Farmer’s Market feature, here’s a reminder. While you can only take 3 bags of bushels from a single neighbor’s Market Stall every 24 hours, you can gather up to 50 bags of bushels in total. So once you’ve run out of bags for one neighbor, head on over to another! If you’ve just started for the day, you’ve got 47 more coming.

Thanks for listenin’, and stay tuned next week for more tips from me, Channel Zero.

And last, but certainly not least, it is time for everyone to get a sneak peek of things coming to farmville in the near future.

We actually have a couple of cool things to talk about this week. Firstly, we will be implementing a new settings menu for everyone. The settings menu will allow you to easily change your preferences, including turning on and off animations, graphics, harvest indicators and the menu auto popping.

Insta-Grow will soon be coming to FarmVille, which will allow you to instantly grow your entire field of crops with our friendly bi-plane. And with this new feature, we will be releasing another nre co-op farming job for you guys to enjoy.

And I know you guys will be happy to hear that the Belted Cow will be coming in the near future. You will be able to purchase this cow for coins, but you are going to have to work for it a little bit.

Alright Folks, that’s it from me this week. I will be back next Friday to give you all of the latest news and information from around the Farm. Again, my name is Lexilicious, and I will see you soon. Happy farming everybody!

“FarmVille Podcast – May 21st:

Hey Farmers, and welcome to this week’s installment of the Official FarmVille Podcast! My name is Lexilicious and I am here to bring you all of the latest news and information about FarmVille from Zynga. This week, we will be discussing our latest releases, you guys will all be getting a sneak peek of things coming to FarmVille in the future, and we have a very special guest with us today to answer some questions from the FarmVille community!

Well it was business as usual this week with the release of our new Limited Edition Tuscan theme and some exciting new features.

Probably the most notable feature that has been released recently is the new Horse Stable Expansion. Now, I have seen a little bit of confusion from players as to how this new update works, so I am going to go ahead and quickly discuss this feature in a little bit more detail for any users who may not be familiar with it.

Now as I am sure most of you know, Horse Stables provide you with both foals and consumables that can be used around your farm. The new Horse Stable expansion means you can now hold more horses in your stable. On top of the extra room on your farm, having more horses will increase your chances of finding Arborists, Farm Hands, and foals.

Your Horse stable can be expanded a total of 4 times. Each expansion will increase your stable capacity by 5 horses, for a total capacity of 40.
Each time you wish to expand, you will need 10 Wooden Boards, Nails, Bricks, Horseshoes and Harnesses.

To start the expansion, open your Horse Stable and click on the “expand” button. This will give you a pop-up which will allow you to post a feed to your wall informing your friends and Neighbors that you need materials to start expanding. When clicked, this will take your neighbor to the Free Gifts page where they can send you building materials for your expansion.

When clicking “look inside” from your Horse Stables menu, you will now see a new “expand” button at the top of your Horse Stable information page. Clicking on the “expand” button will show you what you need to complete your Horse Stable expansion.

As I said earlier, each time you wish to expand your Horse Stable, you’ll need 10 of each item. You can get these items one of three ways. Firstly, your Neighbors can send you the necessary components via the free gifts page. Alternatively, when viewing the interior of your unfinished Horse Stable expansion, each component that you have not yet received 10 of has an ‘Ask For More’ button, that when clicked will take you to the Friend Selector page where you can select friends to send Gift Requests to for your chosen component.

And lastly, the items required for expansion can be purchased for 1 Farm Cash apiece from the Market. When you complete your expansion, you will receive a popup asking you if you’d like to share the news with your friends. Clicking the Share button on this popup will give you the option to post a feed to your wall that will give up to five neighbors who click on it a free Grey Horse.

On Thursday, we released our first round of Limited Edition Tuscan items which is complimented beautifully by the new Tuscan Green landscape that was just released yesterday. A new Mystery Box is also available in the Market for 16 Farm Cash, along with the new Cucumber and Basil crops.
And as per the communities request, we have adjusted the contents of our Free Mystery Gifts which now feature some never before released items, like the new chinchilla, and we have released another new breed of puppy for your enjoyment. The Blue Heeler puppy can now be purchased from the Market for 65 Farm Cash.

And lastly, we have a new offer that is now live to all of our players that I am sure you guys will all love. As a thank you to for giving the FarmVille Game Bar a try, we’re giving out a special gift! Now when you install the FarmVille Game Bar, you’ll be able to receive 25 Farm Cash! If you don’t already have the Game Bar installed, you’ll see a page prompting you to install it the next time you log-in.

Clicking the Install button will take you to a page with instructions on how to add the Game Bar to your browser. Unfortunately, the Game Bar only works with Firefox at this time.

Once you have the Game Bar installed, the next time that you enter FarmVille and have the Game Bar turned on, you’ll receive a message letting you know that your Farm Cash is in your Gift Box.

The 25 Farm Cash in your Gift Box can be redeemed simply by clicking the Use button.

If you already have the Game Bar installed in your browser, you’ll also see the same page I mentioned earlier if you have not already received your free prize. You do not need to install the Game Bar again. Simply click Skip or the Play button from the navigation bar at the top of the FarmVille screen.

Once you turn on or refresh the Game Bar, you’ll receive a message letting you know that your Farm Cash is waiting for you in your in your Gift Box.
Alright! And that’s about it for new releases this week! On that note, let’s go ahead and get into answering some questions submitted by members of the FarmVille Community! Today, we have a special guest with us who has graciously taken time out of her busy day to sit down and answer some questions from the community.

Our first question comes to us from SilverBaller. “What is the real concept of the nursery barn, besides storage for baby animals?”

Well, Here is what one of our Designers, Heather, had to say about this question.

Now, Our second question comes to us from ladycoffey. “Why are we not able to add lambs to the nursery barns? It’s my understanding that lambs are baby sheep. If we can place baby foals and baby calves, we should be able to place lambs in the nursery barns.”

Alright, awesome. I want to give a big thank you to Heather for taking time out of her busy schedule to sit down and talk with us today. And going forward, we will be doing our best to get other members of the FarmVille team to sit down with us to discuss new features and answer questions from the community.

Alright and finally, our last question comes to us form bubba87. “Does the development team actively take feedback from the forums, or are the forums just here for us to discuss?” The FarmVille forums are frequently used by many members of the FarmVille team as a way to gather feedback and opinions from our users. While we may not be able to implement every request, our development team absolutely takes the time to gather feedback from players so that they can keep community concerns and requests in mind when developing new features.

So for this week’s coming soon segment, I actually have some information for you guys on the Farmers Market feature we have been teasing for the past few weeks.

At level 15, you’ll get the chance to find bushels of crops when you harvest your fields. Finding a bushel activates a Market Stall. Your friends can shop at your market stall and take some of the bushels and you earn rewards from each friend who shops at your stall. The bushels will be used in an upcoming feature and can also be consumed directly to get a license to plant that crop, earn more mastery from that crop or earn bonus exp from that crop for a short time.

In addition to this, we have the new underground storage feature coming soon. Coin and Cash cellars will soon be available that will allow you to store up to 200 items in the same size area as a plot of tulips! Players start out with a smaller number of slots and can get their friends to grow crops for them. These crops will give you energy to dig underground and increase the area of your cellars. You can have a maximum of two cellars. That means if you buy and max out two cellars, you’ll be able to have 400 slots of storage in the space of TWO tulip plots!

Now, before I get out of here, I just want to let you guys know that due to popular demand, we will be bringing back the “tip of the week” segment of the podcast starting next week. And on that note, Im out of here folks. Again, my name is Lexilicious and I want to thank you all for listening. I will see you next Friday with all of the latest news and Information from around the Farm. Happy Farming everybody!” (Source: Official FarmVille Forum)
