In FarmVille, animals have a long history of costing Farm Cash with the rare Farm Coin animal thrown in the mix. Now, on a weekly basis we can expect to see at least a couple Limited Edition Farm Coin animals enter the market. Although these pricey critters usually come with an expensive price tag, it’s an option that we welcome. Now let’s talk more about price. For example, this week the FarmVille Market introduced the Thuringian Goat for 2.5 million Farm Coins and most recent a Vosges Cow for 3 million Farm Coins. There’s also a drool-worthy Lion costing 3 million Farm Coins who will be leaving the market in just a few days. The catch is that because these Farm Coin animals are still Limited Edition, they won’t be in the market forever. So you’ll have to spend what Farm Coins you have or work hard on your farm and save up enough Farm Coins to purchase these animals in the time frame allowed. Maybe even some of you have been desperate enough to purchase a Farm Coin package using real money.

At these prices it makes it difficult for beginners or casual farmers to afford, especially if they are hoping to purchase the occasional Farm Coin animal, much less collect and give homes to all the Farm Coin animals introduced to the market. Perhaps, even the most elite FarmVille Freaks are struggling to keep up. The cost of fueling and running four farms, plus purchasing Farm Expansion not only takes a toll on our bank account, but so does stocking up on these fancy animals.

It’s nice to see an option to purchase animals without using Farm Cash, but at these prices, it makes us wonder who really can afford these expensive Limited Edition Farm Coin animals?

UPDATE: FarmVille has resolved this issue on 12/7/11.

This evening there have been many reports from FarmVille Freaks who are experiencing traveling issues when attempting to travel between farms. The problem is resulting in these players being “stuck” on one of their farms.

Since then, this problem has become classified as a Zynga FarmVille Known Issue.

Description: Since 12/07, players are reporting that they cannot travel to one farm to another. They are stuck on one farm.
Status: The FarmVille studio is aware of these reports and is investigating the issue.

FarmVille Sorry Farmer, 100 Bred Sheep Notice

For those of us who have hit the 100 limit and continue to breed more sheep (who can quit? it’s so addictive!) we are forced to sell sheep that we have spent time and precious Love Potions to breed. Now, while this is painful, there is more painful news to report:

Many FarmVille Freaks are reporting that their bred sheep on farm limit is fluid rather at the fixed 100 amount the in-game pop up tells us it is.

So in other words, famers are receiving the “Sorry Farmer! You can have 100 bred sheeps on your farm.” pop up when they have less than 100 sheep. For example, I have 89 bred sheep on my farm and receive the pop up, to breed another sheep I must sell one. The rumor is that the sheep we give up for adoption are counting against our 100 limit for a certain period of time, although we can’t be certain.

Farmers have reached out to Zynga Customer Support about the issue and were told that it was an unknown issue and they would look into it. So at this point no one can be certain if this is a glitch or an intended part of sheep breeding. If it is intentional, we that just stinks! Farmers love to help their neighbors create new and fun sheep by breeding one of their best to put up for adoption, like Flasher Sheep! It would really stink if giving up for adoption lowers our own bred sheep limit.

Currently farmers can only adopt one sheep per day, but are able to give as many as they like up for adoption.

FarmVille Double Mastery Weekend

UPDATE: Double Mastery is CONFIRMED on March 18, 2011!

After last night’s updates, many farmers were reporting seeing double mastery points while harvesting their crops and trees. Until this morning, no official announcement was made. However, earlier today, Farmville Community Manager Grimwell said:

Good morning, just a quick FYI – Double Mastery will be turned off Sunday night. We should be doing that at about 9:00 PM PST.

We will be turning wither and puppy hunger back on at about 12:00 PM PST today now that the issues last night are over.

So FarmVille Freaks, enjoy harvesting your trees & crops until Sunday night, and make sure you harvest your crops before noon today so they don’t wither!

Remember that Double Mastery applies to both crops & trees!

Tonight March 17th, 2011 FarmVille Freaks are reporting major game loading issues! A lot of frustrated farmers are receiving the following error message:

Oh no! It looks like all the bits got lost on the way to your computer. Please refresh your page.

With early signs of FarmVille English Countryside premiering, players are getting anxious about the potential slew of issues that could pop up.

UPDATE: FarmVille Community Manager Stumpgrinder has posted to the Official FarmVille Forums about tonight’s loading issues. It has not yet been decided if the normal stop to crops withering & puppy hunger will be instituted.

About half of our games are down (or at least the majority of people being able to access them). We’re investigating now. If there isn’t a resolution fairly soon we’ll see about unwither & puppy hunger.

FarmVille English Countryside Coming Soon

There is one thing we farmers may all agree on: always needing more land. With each new LE theme, new Building with Purpose, or feature, more and more precious land space is taken up. Zynga has done a great job at adding new and exciting layers to FarmVille beyond crop mastery such as, co-op farming, breeding animals, crafting and tree mastery. A large percentage of farmers participate in most if not all of these FarmVille activities. Between animal storage, crafting buildings and even lots of mastery signs, our growing space is impacted.

FarmVille English Countryside will premiere sometime this year as confirmed jokingly by FarmVille Community Manager Lexilicious when she was asked directly about it by an avid FarmVille player:

No. Our release is planned for 2012.

Just kidding.

Yes, It will be released this year.

Very early on in the FarmVille English Countryside advertising campaign we learned that it will serve as a second farm. Throughout the history of FarmVille players have always speculated about how a second farm would work or even how it could best serve us. Players seem pretty evenly divided, some wanting more space on their original farm and others wanting a second farm altogether.

Some farmers, including myself, have reported that their Facebook Game Requests have gone missing! I personally clicked my Game Requests tonight and lost about 100 Free Gifts and/or Requests.

With so many buildables like the new Greenhouse and tree growing it is very difficult to play without the help of neighbors. So what would a good blogger do? Research! I went directly to FarmVille Live Support to ask some questions, although that ended in a standard response. See below:

CabbagePatchKid: For quite some time now I have been losing about 90% of my gifts. It has been very difficult for me to complete things, now especially with the 125 bonus limit.
CabbagePatchKid: Only a few of  my gifts show up in the in game gift center, so all my neighbors time and mine is being wasted. Now as of tonight, I click on game requests and they all disappeared, and it continues to do that ( on facebook).
Sarah T.: Do you know what is exactly missing?
Sarah T.: I am sorry you are missing items.
CabbagePatchKid: I have lost a lot of gifts! Especially a lot of special delivery boxes, probably close to 100 this evening.
CabbagePatchKid: Why are game requests going missing from Facebook?
Sarah T.: We are currently working on getting this issue resolved with Facebook.

So it seems this is a Facebook issue, but there is some speculation among FarmVille Freaks that FarmVille is transitioning to accepting gifts only through the in-game message center.

FarmVille Pink Patch Cow

FarmVille Freaks are angry! In an update earlier today new items became available for redemption as part of the Valentines Mailbox event, one of those items was the rare Pink Patch Cow.

We at FarmVille Freak think it is necessary to address the outrage over this update!

Of course FarmVille Freaks love to harvest their crops, but lets admit most farmers are hoarders and collectors. It is often discussed amongst avid FarmVille players which items should be considered rare and where they can be seen on a neighbors farm. Most items that are considered rare were released in the first 6-8 months of FarmVille. Players who are proud owners of rare items are long and faithful players, so when Zynga re-releases them there is always a bit of a stir.

Items that were once considered rare but were re-released:

• Haunted House
• Alien Cow
• Grey Goose
• Mrs.Clause & Valentines Gnome

Now, we do understand that certain items are returned so new farmers or farmers that had missed out on these items have a chance to obtain them. We <3 new farmers!

BUT, farmers today are very very upset over the re-release of the Pink Patch Cow. The Pink Patch Cow was released for the first time on February 3rd 2010 (exactly one year ago today) and cost 14$FV, you can check out our original post, here.

As of today, February 3rd, 2011, you can now redeem the Pink Patch Cow for 150 Valentines, so it is free!

This is not the first time Zynga has re-released items that once cost FV$ (real money) to farmers again at no cost, other items include:

• Longhorn Cow
• Hot Pink Pig
• Appaloosa Horse

For arguments sake lets refer to what Lexilicious stated during a FarmVille Podcast about the Nursery Barn.
