FarmVille English Countryside Coming Soon

There is one thing we farmers may all agree on: always needing more land. With each new LE theme, new Building with Purpose, or feature, more and more precious land space is taken up. Zynga has done a great job at adding new and exciting layers to FarmVille beyond crop mastery such as, co-op farming, breeding animals, crafting and tree mastery. A large percentage of farmers participate in most if not all of these FarmVille activities. Between animal storage, crafting buildings and even lots of mastery signs, our growing space is impacted.

FarmVille English Countryside will premiere sometime this year as confirmed jokingly by FarmVille Community Manager Lexilicious when she was asked directly about it by an avid FarmVille player:

No. Our release is planned for 2012.

Just kidding.

Yes, It will be released this year.

Very early on in the FarmVille English Countryside advertising campaign we learned that it will serve as a second farm. Throughout the history of FarmVille players have always speculated about how a second farm would work or even how it could best serve us. Players seem pretty evenly divided, some wanting more space on their original farm and others wanting a second farm altogether.

Many FarmVille Freaks are reporting FarmVille loading issues. Perhaps Zynga has something in the works, or is busy fixing some bugs or issues.

FarmVille Watering Can

Some farmers, including myself, have reported that their Facebook Game Requests have gone missing! I personally clicked my Game Requests tonight and lost about 100 Free Gifts and/or Requests.

With so many buildables like the new Greenhouse and tree growing it is very difficult to play without the help of neighbors. So what would a good blogger do? Research! I went directly to FarmVille Live Support to ask some questions, although that ended in a standard response. See below:

Sarah T.: Hi, my name is Sarah T.. How may I help you?
CabbagePatchKid: For quite some time now I have been losing about 90% of my gifts. It has been very difficult for me to complete things, now especially with the 125 bonus limit.
CabbagePatchKid: Only a few of  my gifts show up in the in game gift center, so all my neighbors time and mine is being wasted. Now as of tonight, I click on game requests and they all disappeared, and it continues to do that ( on facebook).
Sarah T.: Do you know what is exactly missing?
Sarah T.: I am sorry you are missing items.
CabbagePatchKid: I have lost a lot of gifts! Especially a lot of special delivery boxes, probably close to 100 this evening.
CabbagePatchKid: Why are game requests going missing from Facebook?
Sarah T.: We are currently working on getting this issue resolved with Facebook.

So it seems this is a Facebook issue, but there is some speculation among FarmVille Freaks that FarmVille is transitioning to accepting gifts only through the in-game message center.

FarmVille Pink Patch Cow

FarmVille Freaks are angry! In an update earlier today new items became available for redemption as part of the Valentines Mailbox event, one of those items was the rare Pink Patch Cow.

We at FarmVille Freak think it is necessary to address the outrage over this update!

Of course FarmVille Freaks love to harvest their crops, but lets admit most farmers are hoarders and collectors. It is often discussed amongst avid FarmVille players which items should be considered rare and where they can be seen on a neighbors farm. Most items that are considered rare were released in the first 6-8 months of FarmVille. Players who are proud owners of rare items are long and faithful players, so when Zynga re-releases them there is always a bit of a stir.

Items that were once considered rare but were re-released:

• Haunted House
• Alien Cow
• Grey Goose
• Mrs.Clause & Valentines Gnome

Now, we do understand that certain items are returned so new farmers or farmers that had missed out on these items have a chance to obtain them. We <3 new farmers!

BUT, farmers today are very very upset over the re-release of the Pink Patch Cow. The Pink Patch Cow was released for the first time on February 3rd 2010 (exactly one year ago today) and cost 14$FV, you can check out our original post, here.

As of today, February 3rd, 2011, you can now redeem the Pink Patch Cow for 150 Valentines, so it is free!

This is not the first time Zynga has re-released items that once cost FV$ (real money) to farmers again at no cost, other items include:

• Longhorn Cow
• Hot Pink Pig
• Appaloosa Horse

For arguments sake lets refer to what Lexilicious stated during a FarmVille Podcast about the Nursery Barn.

This evening, a new poll was added to the FarmVille Forums, relating to the Crafting Cottages that were introduced a few months ago. Although the first Crafting Cottage was given to every player for free, FarmVille wants to know whether players would like a second Crafting Cottage if it was given to them for Coins or for Construction Parts.

Remember, more Crafting Cottages mean that you can create more recipes, plant a different variety of crops, etc.

FarmVille Freak CabbagePatchKid's Photo Notice

FarmVille is a social game, one that we play with friends/neighbors by sharing gifts and bonuses. Part of the social aspect of the game is sharing accomplishments, farm art and new items through photos. Photos are a great way of checking out farming techniques and decorating styles, way back in the beginning of FarmVille there was even a ribbon that could be obtained by sharing photos with your friends, the Shutterbug Ribbon. Although the ribbon was later removed from the game for an unknown reason, the camera function remained.

For quite sometime now FarmVille Freaks have been reporting that their in game camera is no longer publishing the photos it takes, myself included. The camera seems to take photos but will not publish them or add them to their already existing FarmVille photo album on Facebook.

After sometime of trying to fix this issue through publishing settings in FarmVille and Facebook many farmers have had no luck in correcting the problem. A FarmVille Freak however did ask FarmVille Live Support about the problem, the reported answer was that it is a known and unresolved issue on Zyngas end, but no time line or level of importance was stated during that conversation.

This forces many people to manually take photos of their farm and upload them to Facebook photo albums. This can be done by taking a screenshot and then adding the photo like any other on your computer to Facebook. For directions on how to take a screenshot please click, here.

FarmVille FaceBook Notice Error

A new limit to FarmVille items you are able to collect off your Facebook news feed has been introduced.

The new limit will allow you to collect up to 125 things from the Facebook news feed per day per user.  Many of you have already started experiencing notifications as a result of the new limitation after attempting to collect a news feed item. This new limit was introduced to lower the effectiveness of the illegal snagging of FarmVille news feed items by snag bar and other apps such as Gamer’s Unite and FarmVille Snag Bar that automatically collect farming rewards for you. It impacts all available snag bars.

You may have noticed that it’s been a little difficult to score anything off your Facebook news feed and part of the reason is due to the amount of players using snag tools to suck up all your free FarmVille news feed items way before you even have a chance to click. While this new limitation certainly levels the playing field, it will also directly affect all of you FarmVille Freak News Feed Stalkers! If you stalk your news feed all day scouring for free farmin’ goods  you will also be limited to collecting 125 things per day from your Facebook news feed.

FarmVille Lexilicious' Valentine Day Idea Forum Post

What would you like this FarmVille Valentine’s Day theme to be like?

Zynga’s latest social game hit, CityVille, has grown so much in popularity among Facebook users that it has now surpassed FarmVille in most monthly active users.

According to App Data CityVille breached the 69 million mark this month, while FarmVille attracted 57 million. Considering CityVille is still a very young one month old, it looks like Zynga has another hit.

FarmVille remains at the top of the leader board for daily active users with 14 million compared to CityVille’s at a strong 13.8 million easily securing the second place spot.

Has Zynga persuaded you to venture off your farm to try out life in the City?

Zynga will surely be rolling out this land for coins soon but was this a new ploy to see if ‘land happy’ farmers would spend the FV$ ? Or was it simply that with so many new features Zynga did not have time to roll out the coin option?
