***UPDATE: The glitch described below that caused Crop Mastery to change has now been fixed and reset by Zynga.****

In an update made tonight on 03.04.10, FarmVille changed the requirements for some Crop Mastery! Some crops are have lowered and others have increased.This change should have all the FarmVille Crop Profit Spreadsheet analysts busy for awhile.

Since some of the Crop Mastery levels have lowered, it has caused some farmers to now go over the requirements needed to complete Crop Mastery for that specific crop. For example, Blueberries and Strawberries Crop Masteries have both lowered and now Blueberries require only 3,000 points to master.

If this happened to you don’t freak out yet . . . it is still possible to gain your Crop Mastery Sign and XP. Try planting the crop in which you should now have Mastery for and it should re-align everything to be accurate. Remember, you may have to wait for the crop to harvest in order for this to happen. In the past, when Crop Mastery changed, replanting the crop you should now have Crop Mastery for and then harvesting it triggered the ability to get the Crop Mastery Sign and XP rewards.

As mentioned on FarmVille Freak, on Tuesday, Microsoft’s search engine Bing offered FarmVille players 3 free farm cash for becoming a fan of Bing on Facebook. In just one day the number of fans grew by 400,000 people.

Considering the results of this successful campaign, we can probably expect more in-game corporate sponsored advertisements offering FarmVille perks in the future.

This offer was only available for one day!

Inside Facebook featured an interesting article about this integration of brand advertising in social gaming and mentioned FarmVille Freak,

“It appears that users do in fact appreciate advertising, and offers in particular, when they’re easy to find and clearly valuable. FarmVille-focused blog FarmVille Freak noted the Bing campaign in a post yesterday, and polled its readers to see what they thought. The question was: “Will you be clicking the Bing FarmVille Sponsored Link?” The possible answers were “Yes, I love Farm Cash!,” “No, I hate Bing! Long live Google!” and “Maybe, would like the Farm Cash, not Bing!” So far, 68% of respondents, or more than 3,500 people, have vote for the first option. Granted, readers of a blog about a social game are probably more interested in Farm Cash than the average player, but still an interesting data point.”

With the re-introduction of all working links, many of you are eager to exchange your link with FarmVille friends and non-neighbors, but do not know how. Before you can exchange links you will need to first know how to get your link. Please read below for instructions.

Since Tuesday night Zynga started removing multiple Chicken Coops in FarmVille. For those farmers in violation of the “One Chicken Coop” rule, you can expect your multiple coops to be deleted and your excess Chickens sent to your Gift Box. It does not matter how you obtained the multiple Chicken Coops whether by in game glitch or if you purposely used tricks to gain extra coops.

Some farmers that didn’t see this earlier post on FarmVille Freak were surprised to see their Gift Box filled with some  100 plus Chickens and their extra Chicken Coops missing. Although your Gift Box limit is only 30, it will accommodate any excess Chickens.

The removal is without notice and may happen at anytime. If Zynga has invaded your farm while you were away, you will receive this pop-up notice upon visiting your farm.

Zynga will be removing all excess Chickens and Chicken Coops attained through various past glitches or in-game errors!

They claim that having multiple Chicken Coops and thus the ability to yield multiple Mystery Eggs violates their policy because it not only hurts the stability of the game, it also disrupts the “FarmVille economy”. Farmers in violation of the One Chicken Coop rule will be given the chance to salvage which Chickens they want as Zynga is moving excess Chickens to your FarmVille Gift Box.

Over the next few days they will be addressing this issue and afterward any user who obtains multiple coops via hacks or cheats may face consequences. Users are already reporting the deletion of multiple coops.

They are also encouraging other narcs players to report their fellow FarmVille neighbors who violate the multiple chicken coop rule.

The official word from Zynga spokeswoman Lexilicious:

“Hey Farmers,

When the Chicken Coop feature was initially released, it was not intended for users to be able to have more than one chicken coop per farm.

Due to various glitches and bugs in the past few weeks, certain users were able to place multiple chicken coops on their farms, which is a violation of FarmVille policy.

In order to rectify this situation, the FarmVille team has removed all excess Chicken Coops. This means that all users who are in possession of more than one Chicken Coop will be affected by this release.

To ensure our players are not overly inconvenienced by this change, all chickens that are in excess coops will be placed in your Gift Box. If you have more than 30 Chickens in multiple coops, your gift box will expand to accommodate all of them. This should ensure that you do not lose any chickens that are housed in excess coops.

In addition to this, we will leave the most valuable Chicken Coop on your farm. For example: if you are in possession of two chicken coops, one will be removed. If one Coop has 20 chickens and the other Coop has 3, we will leave the coop with 20 chickens on your farm.

This update will be completed in stages over the next few days, as it is a fairly complicated fix. This means that certain users will lose their additional coops before others.

We understand that many of our players enjoy having multiple Chicken Coops, however allowing this is something that threatens the stability of FarmVille. Having multiple coops increases the chances of producing Mystery Eggs. Having too many Mystery Eggs present in the FarmVille economy can unbalance the game. To ensure the health and longevity of FarmVille, we must limit the number of Chicken Coops to one per user.

After this release, being in possession of multiple Chicken Coops may result in consequences, as additional coops can only be obtained via cheating or hacking. If you would like to report a user for having multiple coops, please feel free to contact Zynga Customer Support.”

Recently I’ve seen many of my FarmVille neighbors posting Facebook status updates warning of the fake FarmVille Facebook groups. The status updates read something like this:

“FROM ZYNGA: The makers of Facebook/Farmville issued a statement that all the “bargains” that are being offered regarding free fuel, free hen houses, free stables, etc. are NOT coming from them. They are all a scam by people who may use the information to access your accounts PLEASE CAN EVERYONE COPY AND PASTE THIS.”

Although it is unlikely that the above is an official statement made by Zynga, Zynga has addressed this issue in the past. (See below).  Basically these Groups promise to send you special items upon joining their group and of course you never receive your Villa, extra farm cash or Gray Horse.

All of these groups are a waste of time and fruitless because they are nothing more than a scam. When a free Villa sounds too good to be true, especially if you don’t meet the level requirement, then it probably is.  If you are still in doubt, think about how this would work.  How and why would a group page actually send you an official Zynga item or farm cash?

Do not join these fake groups  and do not invite your friends to join them.

With Tuesday night’s updates Zynga has put a stop to FarmVille link sharing.

I assume that this link disabling was enforced because of all the “unlimited links” illegally bombarding FarmVille. By the way, these unlimited links are no longer working. Please stop asking for the unlimited links and please stop posting them in our comments section, fan page, and chat areas immediately as they will be deleted.

You will notice that you can no longer share Egg links, Collectable links, etc with people that are NOT your FarmVille neighbors. If you click on a shared link that is given by someone that you are not neighbors with, it will take you to your farm’s loading page.

This update has not affected normal link sharing that you would post to your Facebook newsfeed. You will still be able to share links with your FarmVille neighbors through this method.

UPDATE: After being temporary down, FarmVille Bonus Checker is once again available. It has been made compliant with Zynga’s request. Notice that the developer of FBC has replaced Zynga’s images with oringinal images.

An innovative application on Facebook developed by Xavier Derrey called the FarmVille Bonus Checker is now available for all you FarmVille Freaks!

The application works by pulling together your existing FarmVille neighbors’ posted bonuses such as: coin bonuses, ribbon bonuses, adoptable animals, flowers and the coveted Mystery Eggs.

The bonuses that are posted onto Facebook usually require you to scroll through pages of newsfeed as it is organized by the time it was initially posted. This application conveniently groups the bonuses together on one page which saves you lots of time and effort. It gathers the 100 most recent bonuses of your FarmVille neighbors in the last 24 hours and allows you to pick and choose which bonus you want. Once you click on a bonus and receive the reward, it will remove that bonus from the list.  It will also automatically refresh and display new bonuses every 60 seconds.

This application really works and is NOT a scam like many of the other FarmVille apps or groups that are floating around Facebook. Of course the more neighbors you have, the more options you have when it comes to collecting FarmVille bonuses. If you love collecting bonuses, but find it too tedious to even bother with, this application is perfect for you and you should at least give it a try!
