Tue ,13/04/2010

Two new free gifts arrived in FarmVille this evening, the Seagull and Tamarind Tree. Tamarind Trees originated in Africa, but are wide spread in India due to human transportation. The Seagull is a ‘visitor’ from Zynga’s newest game released, Treasure Isle. For those of you who have not yet played this game it has a mix of features from many Zynga games, such as energy from Mafia Wars and Crops from FarmVille.

Also please note the following items have been removed from the free gift page:

  • Pink Greenery
  • Grapefruit Tree
  • Fig Tree
  • Dome Topiary
  • Wood Picket Fence
  • Sunflower Bucket
  • Guava Tree

It is also being reported that there are no longer any level requirements for gifts.

Are you able to send any free gifts to neighbors, not depending on your level in FarmVille?

FrontierVille Just Around the Corner

Zynga, the developers of FarmVille, are producing new games left and right. Their newest Social Game, made for Facebook, is called FrontierVille and the public got an early sneak peek when the game was leaked.

Tech Crunch reported that they had access to FrontierVille while logged into their Facebook Developer Test account. The description of FrontierVille is as described below,

“Howdy Pardner! Let’s explore a new life on the frontier. You gotta chop trees to construct buildings, clear land to raise livestock, plant crops, and raise a family. The untamed wilderness is hazardous, but your fellow pioneers are there to help.”

As for a few objectives in FrontierVille, according to Tech Crunch some include things such as, “Learned the ropes,” “Just broke ground for a new homestead!,” and “Just finished building a General Store in FrontierVille.”

What are your thoughts about FrontierVille? Are you ready for another Zynga game?

FarmVille Freak Blake’s Mystery Gift & Egg Block

Sun ,11/04/2010

Blocking your farmer avatar can be very useful and time saving.

Not only does it save you time while plowing, planting or harvesting, it also saves your FarmVille neighbors time when they are visiting your farm to fertilize because they too will be automatically blocked upon entering your farm. I personally hate visiting farms who do not have a block set up.

Of course, if you use any of the FarmVille vehicles such as the Hot Rods, then a block may not seem as necessary because there is less clicking involved and your avatar does not need to pace the steps of the work path. However, Blocking is still useful for harvesting trees and collecting from animals, as well as saving fuel and your neighbor’s time.

With the recent debut of FarmVille Puppies, many FarmVille Freaks have released their farmers from their Blocks so that they can watch the Puppy follow them around the farm. Note, if your farmer is blocked your Puppy will not be able to follow you.

If you have never heard of “Blocking” you may read here for more information: How to Block your FarmVille Farmer (Wow- this post dates all the way back to September 15th!)

We’ve seen lots of different creative Farmer Blocks. For example, FarmVille Freaks have used: hay bales, fences, animals, flags, gnomes, and various other FarmVille items, but this is the first time we’ve seen a farmer block set up entirely of the free giftable Mystery Gifts and Mystery Eggs!

That’s right FarmVille Freak Blake used nothing but Mystery Gifts and Mystery Eggs to create his block. Thanks for sharing with us Blake and here’s to proving your girlfriend wrong :)

Do you use the Blocking technique on your farm? If so, what materials do you use to create your Block?

FarmVille Zynga New Site Survey

FarmVille Freak FarmVilleTips discovered an interesting survey distributed by Survey Monkey for Zynga.

It seems that Zynga is looking for feedback about naming a new site that would work as an umbrella site for all Zynga games. According to the survey, the website would provide a place where you could access all your Zynga games. Read more below:

“Imagine a place where you can play all your favorite Zynga games like Farmville, Mafia Wars, Café World and others. This would be a place where you could play games:

  • that are always free
  • without losing any of the friends or game history you have already built up
  • that allow you to earn rewards faster and have them apply across all Zynga games
  • with faster performance and fewer glitches
  • where accepting gifts or neighbor requests is quick and easy
  • where helping friends or asking for help is easy to do
  • that allow you to see game-relevant feeds & posts in one place
  • that have a substantially larger game playing area
  • that allow you to trade items with friends
  • that show how you compare against your friends and other players
  • that provide exclusive game features
  • that let you receive and share tips with other players”

Note: Out of respect for Zynga, we are not posting the original link to the survey because we do not know the original audience the survey was distributed to or intended for.
