FarmVille Caterpillar & Invisible Cat!

It seems like FarmVille is celebrating the the Alice in Wonderland craze with the release of the hookah smoking Caterpillar (even though smoke has been substituted for bubbles) and the Cheshire Cat Invisible Cat.

Both the Caterpillar and Invisible Cat are otherwise prominent characters in Lewis Caroll’s Alice in Wonderland novel as well as Disney’s movie versions. Most likely due to naming rights, Zynga did not use the real names, but I’m hoping we see more of these obvious Alice in Wonderland inspired items in FarmVille!
The Caterpillar and Invisible Cat are both available in the FarmVille Market and can only be purchased with farm cash.
The Invisible Cat is a harvestable animal, meaning he will yield coins when harvested. When placed upon your farm, the Invisible Cat will sometimes appear invisible revealing only a grinning smile, but he will also occasionally be visible.
The Caterpillar is a decorative animal that does not yield coins.

Naming the cat like in the story cant be because of naming rights. The true origin of the cats name is unknown although there seems to be about 3 good theories as to where it came from. I got it its nice =) disappears for a good duration.

The animation is decent, the only bug I can see is that he reappears automatically when you rotate to the rear view. Even then, I wasn’t watching him long, so he might just disappear again. Cat’s awesome, very happy with it. When it’s invisible all you can see is its grin, but if you hover over where the spot is you can see it outlined yellow gas. Not sure how to do pictures, though

lewis carroll’s works “alice’s adventure’s in wonderland” and “through the looking glass” are in the public domain and thus all it’s content (including names and concepts) are free for anyone to use or reproduce. The Cheshire cat would not be unacceptable, and the invisble cats isn’t even the same color as disney’s version (which i’m assuming this is supposed to compared to?)

Was just wondering, if you set the cat to wander, and it’s invisible, does the grin move with it? Or does it only move when not grinning. Would be nice if zynga made it so the cat can follow other visiting farmers around as the grin ^.^

I’m obsessed!!!!! with Alice in Wonderland! but i don’t know if ill get one since my farm is in the woods, log cabins, weathered and provencal barn, wood fences, all natural. But i want the caterpillar so I’ll think about it a bit more :S
AND IT WOULD BE SOO COOL IF THEY RELEASED SOMETHING ABOUT THE TEA PARTY :O

It would be better i think, if they gave an option for him to be invisible. Sort of how the Carrier Pigeons work, where you can select fly! and they take off. That way you can see him whenever you want, or have him disappear if you choose

Asking about having the grin follow you, also about the grin appearing on barns, trees etc. + a few other things there too.. .. but if the grin could follow visiting farmers, that’d definately be worth it ^.^

I don’t like the invisible cat that much – I wish they hadn’t just changed the color and put in this white smile (even without teeth!) why aren’t they more creative – like let the cat sit in a tree and smile or give it a different posture
They keep just repainting stuff and sell it as being new *ggrrrr*

The caterpillar isn’t “smoking”, it’s blowing bubbles. The cat, disappears to the point that you can only see its grin, then will reappear after a period of time. Cute, not my thing so I won’t buy them but cute nonetheless. Personally, I’m looking forward to the release of dogs and am hopeful they offer more than 3 breeds. Will a doghouse be in the works too?

The cat can be moved, you just need to move your cursor to its mouth, as that’s the only ’solid’ area… haha if that makes sense. I started freaking out to that I couldn’t move it but you can.

I like the Invisible Cat, however for that amount of FV Cash it should do more than stand there and be invisible a vast majority of the time. What someone said above, if it moved and followed you or reappeared else, say in a tree or top of a building and then faded out and reappeared, it would be fantastic and it would be awesome if followed visiting farmers. If it’s invisible most of the time and it can’t move why bother?

@sc : i left the link there of where i made a suggestion for the grin to follow. Even if they do update it so that it does, it’d probably take more then the time left on to buy it, as opposed to putting it in. Either way, i made a suggestion on the zynga forums, if anyone wants to bump it/start a petition for the grin being able to follow… or a “follow farmer” option for pets… be glad to help ^.^

I bought a smile that you can hardly even see. My cat seems to be permanently invisible. I have NEVER seen him and i bought him a week ago!

I agree with Pixie. I bought the cat when it first came out and have not seen it visible once.. I feel ripped off on this one. At least let it be visible when half the time! Can someone please send a link where I can post a complaint please ?
