FarmVille Dogs: Market Sneak Peek!!!

As the most anticipated item in FarmVille, the Dogs have been “coming soon” for a long time now.
With the recent podcast hints and FarmVille loading screen teaser, we are yet even closer to the release.
So far, we know that these Dogs will be Pets that are also highly interactive and more than just harvestable animals. This leaves everyone wondering what will be the cost of the FarmVille Dog!?
Well, here are some FarmVille notifications and FarmVille Market screenshots, provided by FarmVille Freak Andrew, for you to see! From time to time, some farmers get early access to items before everyone else. It seems that with features such as Expansion, Hot Rod Tractors, and now the Dog, the release is limited for testing purposes. Even though some farmers may see the Dog in their FarmVille Market, they still cannot purchase.
***Please note, the Dog has not been officially released, and until that time things including pricing may change. Some FarmVille Freaks have reported that the cost for the Dog in their FarmVille Market is anywhere from 20 to 80 FV$. ****

Interesting ploy. I’m assuming that the “coming soon” button only pops up when you click buy, so then Ray is probably right that they are seeing how many clicks each different price will get.

Wow! 60 FV$??? We bought tigers, bears and other wild animals (that actually don’t belong on a farm) for less than that and the one animal that every farmer has, the dog, it’s gonna be so highly priced that very few of us will be able to afford it… That’s just wrong! I think everybody is gonna complain about this, even the ones who are going to buy it eventually. The puppies should be adoptable or cost coins.

fair enough to charge fv’s its how they get paid and they know the dog will most probably be there most profitable and popular upgrade but it dirty tactics charging so much and its not on, it should be an amount that even farmers who dont feed cash into zygas pocket can afford just by leveling up,

That is INSANE. There is no way I would pay real money for a pointless dog. Especially not that amount. At the very least they should have an option to use coins as well like they do with the vehicles. I wouldnt mind spending 20,000COINS on a dog.

60 fv cash is extreme tho. even for the demand. i would have liked it being one of those, send requests deals. like lets say if u get 200 puppy requests from ur friends, then u can trade those requests in for a puppy. something like that.

I think we should be able to buy the dogs for coins, Recently everything coming out seems to be cash so I think its time they make us use some of our coins, I have millions and I am sure now everyone have alot of coins!
I would even be willing to pay 1million coins for the dogs and it would be another milestone for newbies instead of just getting the villa!

I would pay up to 20 fv$ BUT think that it should be an option with cash as well. It IS special IF it is a pet. I also think if it’s cash, it should be about $100,000..something to aim and/or save for, allowing it to stay permanently for all to eventually get one.60 fv dollars is ludicrous, but I think you already know that. As someone said, you can’t hype everyone up on a dog, then make it impossible for some not to be able to get one.. That’s plain WRONG and MEAN!! Let’s have this remain ‘fun’ and ‘kind’ please!

I don’t know where to post this, but twice in a row my farm has become completely fertilized within an hour and I have no idea why. Has this happened to anyone else? I have 400+ plots and I have never had them all fertilized at once, even when planting watermelon.

Theres no way I’m paying real money for a picture of a dog when i can can sit at home and look at my own live dogs for free. There might be two ways to get the dogs, like some other items- you can either pay lots of FV$ to get one quickly or do some sort of challenge/get help from neighbours to get one more slowly?

Hmm, I love how everyone whines about the dogs being worth coins-put it this way, would you honestly put something so many people will obviously buy in the market for free? Even if the dog was worth only a small amount of cash, with the number of people that would buy the dog for that small price (say… 10 farmcash, at the most) it would really add up for Zynga profit-wise. You have to remember that whilst this is a game, Zynga is a company just like any other that needs to make a profit in order to keep this game running for us.
But, I digress. I agree with that idea that some of the dog breeds should be coins so everyone can have the chance to have a dog and it’s all fair-maybe other breeds, or dogs with different abilities or something, could be worth farmcash? :O Oh and yes, 60 is way too much to pay for the dog
However, I wish some of you would keep in mind that Zynga is a company trying to make a profit-if you really want a dog so badly that you will write so many messages about how much you want one repeatedly, go and play another game that is to do with dogs-Farmville is hardly the only game of this nature. If you honestly left just because the dogs are worth farmcash, if indeed they are, also keep in mind that that doesn’t really hurt anyone but yourself in the long run

All I have to say is, I told ya’ll so. Everyone was getting so upset because they hadn’t released the dog & kept saying, “when’re we going to get a dog!” Yep, they’re releasing it & so far, it seems to be only for farmcash.
It’s a very low blow for zynga, and if it is farmcash- I would be ashamed to participate in buying one.

I think that a lot of the people complaining about the price that isn’t even finalized will eventually buy one anyway. We all want a dog and Zynga knows that. As far as fv$, Past glitches and cheats lowered the value of the coins so badly that they are almost useless. The only way that Zynga can make farms unique is charge FV$ because everyone can afford items with coins.

If I might add…
I don’t mind it if ~some~ special items are released for $FV every week. I mean, Zynga’s gotta make a buck, but come on.
Now, only the accessory items seem available for coins (like today, the french bicycle and the horse statue — that’s it!). Want a building? $60FV. Realistically, there is NO WAY you’re going to earn that much FV cash within the game unless you add real world dollars. I’m at Level 38, and I can say with absolute certainty that I haven’t received on single dollar of FV cash for my level-ups since about level 19.
So yeah, the game is fun, but at this point, I’ve worked my way through all the new seeds. Level-ups are no longer rewarded with anything; I have all the level-up bonuses I’m going to get. The only reason I still play the game is to see what fun new stuff the creative minds at Zynga comes up with each week. Sometimes I spend the money, but lately, I don’t want to.
As everything requires $FV, I find I’m disengaging from the game. There’s no reason to play if I can’t be part of it without handing over my paycheck every week. I don’t think that’s what Zynga wants…. Or, maybe it is? Perhaps Zynga makes its money on new players, not “old timers” (I use that phrase very loosely since there are plenty of people at much higher levels than myself).
If Zynga is going to go all-$FV — and it looks like they are — I’m eventually going to give up. Sooner rather than later.

Ok I’ve seen all this…..But I have an idea. Build the dog house, (like the barn raising) ounce the dog house is built,the surprise of one of the puppies will be inside. I also look at it this way,when some couldn’t finish the raising of the stable or the barn or the mansion we had an option to purchased the rest of the materials for 1 Fv coin. Then they put out the colors of the stables for 5 FV coins, yet we can’t turn or rotate the buildings like we want to. I really think that ZYNGA should look at this,better to allot of players than to pay for the real good stuff with FV CASH. I feel we all are being CHEATED…..Just my thoughts thats all…

I don’t really know how you folks haven’t become used to the farm cash for good items system. It’s a social game that is free to play, but regardless if you like this much content released all the time….someone has to do it and they have to pay the bills and keep the lights on. It’s a game, all. Yes, it’s a fun, addictive game, but at the end of the day it’s a game.
The company that creates this game and employs people to work on it (yes, “employs”; the coders aren’t working for free) isn’t doing it out of the kindness of its heart. It has to make money. That’s the bottom line, really. And just like any other part of making money, it’s about what the market will bear.
If someone wants a dog on their farm badly enough, they’ll pay 60 FV for it…and there will be plenty of people that will. If you don’t want the dog that badly or you don’t have the FV bucks for it…well, then, you don’t get one. If nobody buys the dog at that price, the price will likely drop. *shrug*
It’s not “wrong” or “bad” of Zynga to charge for their work. It may not be right for you as a player, and that’s fine; I get that. Just please stop acting like they’re _sacrificing_ puppies instead of offering ‘em for sale.

This is old news to me…since they used the SAME ploy on YoVille.
You had this pop up, saying that you “Found” a lost puppy. Then the owner comes and picks it up, and your reward was…another pop up for a chance to BUY the puppy for YoCash.
YoVille continues to lose players to the Greed of Zynga. FarmVille has a lot of players, but all it takes is one BAD move by the company (and this might be it), and the numbers for this game will drop as well.
Unless there are a bunch of suckers who ENJOY paying REAL money for pixels? Especially for a DOG?! -_-

How bout you get a dog based on crop mastery?I’ve mastered 20 crops and have little to show for it in terms of gifts- there’s not even a mastery ribbon! My friends have passed me in levels cause they buy FV$ buildings and get the extra XP for doing so. The game is called Farmville- not Townville. Reward those truely farming with something extra.

Either Zynga make it easier for us to earn FV$$ or start selling the cool stuff in the market with an alternate option for purchasing with coins. I don’t see myself playing this game any longer if I can’t buy the nice things with the coins I’ve earned. FV$ doesn’t equal food in my stomach or pay my very real utility bills.

I meant they should continue to have that alternate option to buy with FV coins. I think every item in market should have that purchasable coin option. If they continue with the required FV$$$ for the nicer, cooler things, I am quitting. Either make it easier for us to earn FV $$, or offer the option to purchase with coins. I swear I will be done if 5 more nice looking buildings are for real freaking $$$.

another thing you guys aren’t understanding, which im sure is pure ignorance..
the dogs ‘if they are all they have been talked about’ are going to be somewhat interactive… that means its a program itself within the game.. the other animals, are pixels with attached ‘timers’ so you can harvest them. HUGEE difference. but im sure the intellegence/maturity/cheapness level of most you you whiny people can’t grasp that.
also, to put it into terms that will REALLY boil all the complainers water..
zynga has roughly 80 million people playing their farmville..
if HALF of the people (40 million) buy the dog, even though more than half will buy it, im sure; at a LOW price of 25 FC… they will make a KILLING..
80 million fans total, if 40 million buy it at 25FC (5$) they will make 200$ million off the dogs.. if they made them coins, they make NOTHING…
80,000,000 / 2 = 40,000,000
40,000,000 x 5$ = 200,000,000
thats talking at the LOW end of the spectrum as they will probably charge closer to 7-10$ real $$$ for each dog, and there will be probably more than half the players that buy the dog..
would be a very VERY stupid business tactic NOT to capitalize on the ‘cult’ following of this game and get a 200$+ million dollar reward for adding a dog to farmville..

I’ve made it to level 38 without spending any ‘real’ money so whilst I appreciate that Zynga are a business, I wouldn’t pay to increase my FV$. I’m not that impressed with the pictures of the dogs shown so there hasn’t been a WOW factor for me like there was with the Clydesdale! I’ll keep on ploughing and levelling up to earn my FV$!

If they want to sell the puppy with Farmville Cash BUT even if we have fvcash and want to buy it and WE DON’T… they might reconsider this.
I know it’s a crazy thing, because most of the people will buy it no matter the price, but if they have they 200+ million profits it’s because we keep paying it.

This is what I think:
I think the dog will be 1 of those “Limit-1″ items, like the Coop and the Stable.
I doubt that Zynga will sell the dog at an expensive price, sinced its image has been out since it started. Everyone’s been hyped about it too, so I don’t think Zynga will make that bad move…
But I have to agree with other posters, even though I’m not a bad complainer, 80 FV for a dog is too much. It will probably be released for coins, but that’s just my opinion.
And someone mentioned that the dog will be for coins only if you play PetVille, but Zynga have announced that you won’t have to play PV to get the dog. (Thank God for that)

I would pay a few hundred thousand coins for one of each dog. I won’t pay fv $. You can also get free fv$ via their offers. Some work better than others, NO strings attatched.
I did play petville JUST to find the three clues. Took about 10 minutes. No time at all. Hoping this helps somehow.

I believe that a dog, a very common animal to be on the farm, should be something anyone is able get! Therefore it should either cost a low amount of FarmCash, or FarmCoins only. This game can be very unfair. Such a common animal that does belong on a farm should be accessible by everyone.

I have noticed that all the best animals are F cash, i dont mind paying for special things, but the price has to be fair. I wouldnt pay more than 25 fv cash, thats the highest i would go. I wish they would have a dog mysterybox with different breeds in it, then u buy and surprise, get a special puppy. good idea i think.

My opinion of fv is continuing to go downhill very fast. Now that I’ve maxed out all of my crop options, I’m starting to getting bored of the game. Upon hearing about having to pay fv dollars for the dog, I’m laughing at the idiocy of that idea. Fine, if some of you want to spend real dollars on a fake dog, go ahead. I would rather spend real dollars on a real dog, thank you very much. I don’t care about Zynga’s profits, etc. When a company starts becoming this greedy (offering few options for fv coins) my interest dips and I go elsewhere for an entertaining game. While the rest of the masses drool on their keyboards and fork over their hard earned money for something not even real, I will be enjoying life in the real world.

Man farmville is a free game everyone can play who wants, nobody is gonna die if he buys farmcash once in a while. i live in germany, pay 16,20€ thats around 20 dollars for 99 farmcash, bought it three times this month ( ok, too much i know) but i only spend it when i see things that i really like, i try not to waiste it in things like risking getting crap out of mystery boxes. all animals that were special, we had to pay for. they need to earn their money just like everyone else does too. be happy that the game is free, if you pay, pay, but dont complain, nobody is forcing anyone. if you dont wanna pay or think its a waiste of money, then dont pay, and dont complain. i cant go in a store and complain that they want money, why should we all complain over every freaking item that is released. so what, zynga wants money, give it or leave it, but stop crying around people ( i cant buy it, dont wanna) then dont!!!!! I love the f cash items, i think they are worth their money and i will continue buying them too. I think the dog will cost around 20 fcash like all animals too, then extras for the dog will be in coins and the prettier things f cash. dont care, i dont drink or smoke and i dont go out much, so i spend some extra money here and that makes me hapyy when my farm looks good.

This company gives out tons of great things for coins/gifts. There’s always going to be extras that people like myself will pay for. Why run a company if it’s not profitable for you? If you think the company is trying to “rip” us off……go play something else and stop whining. Even if they charge 1 million coins as many have stated, how is that profitable to them? We all have millions of coins…dreadfully easy to come by nowadays as I have over 5 million. I’ve been playing since the beginning and the game has changed drastically, I actually earned my level 70 through hardwork, not cashing in 20 collections everyday and leveling up once a day-I spent a year harvesting my trees and animals all one by one-not having the benefit of arborists and farmhands everyday-there never used to be new things to buy all the time, now we’re overrun with new items everyweek (too many) but ya know what, I buy them, because I can…..and if you want them badly enough….then skip your morning coffee for a few days and buy them too.

ok so i kinda agree with what people are saying about how zynga need to make money n that but even if it was all free they’d still make money of things like advertisment ect. recently though they have been getting greedy, more and more stuff is only available in FV$ and not coins, and yeah i get that they need to make money and blah blah blah but its getting too much, loads of kids play this game and i dont think its fair to make everything cost FV$ as that means you have to actually buy them. i get the fact that rare items and special limited edition stuff should cost FV$ but something they’ve been promoting for weeks like this shouldnt, they havent hyped any of their other items up like they have this one so to make it cost so much that its unattainable for most people just isnt right. im english but currently live abroad so buying a card thing in a shop isnt possible and im personally not willing to spend money from my credit card as my bank would charge extra money for convering the currency. i know my little brother will be especially dissapointed is they end up being released at 80FV$
ok fair enough if your working full time and have the extra money to spend on a game then pay the money, but most online games are free, if they wanna make more money then they should charge people to join, say they only charged 1-2$ to join, they have something like 90 million players, so they’d make enough money.

But I really hope that they aren’t considering releasing it for something like 60fc – because that’s just crazy!!
I literally couldn’t afford that. I bet heaps of other people couldn’t either.
In my opinion, Zynga would make more money anyway, by selling them for around 20 fc – so so many more people would buy them at that price that it would add up to more than the few who could afford it at really high prices.

Trying to answer in this blog but you keep knocking me out with your dumb IE8.
As I was saying, the cost of 300,000 coins is a shocker to me but the price is even a bigger eye opener. I would imagine it took a lot of creativity and ingenuity to make this dog perform as I heard it does. I’m anxious to get my own dog for my farm. Now that they put a price to it it would be disheartening to ask for a lower price later on. I suspect there will be lots of technicians out there doing non-copyrighted work in the future to get people dogs without paying the high price. And I don’t know if their dog would be removed later on if Zynga chooses.
I heard the new dogs are a lot of fun. tonight I will buy my dog with coins.
