Elk and Reindeer are the exact same animal, in real life. The ONLY distinction is that reindeer are domesticated, and elk are not, so yeah, they SHOULD look the same.

Amber, I did notice that they were exactly the same when the elk first came out....the birch tree is another one....they used the bare birch and put leaves on it, the lodge and the elk....if they are going to do these repeats they should do one at a time so it isn't so noticeable....but I would still notice. ; 0

The Elk was the same size as the Reindeer when it got released, later on they've changed the size. At least the size wasn't this demarcating at the beginning!!! Thanks to Zynga, nonetheless! As I've said somewhere here, I was disappointed when I purchased the Elk, it looked the same size as the reindeer with just color difference, now the size difference is very much evident. I didn't take pictures, I wish I had. Anyone else noticed this?

...How different can you make the Reindeer and Elk, anyway?

I don't know what you guys expected. Farmville images aren't super detailed and realistic, and never have been, so a cartoony elk and a cartoony reindeer will be very similar. I'm actually happy to see the details in the antlers and sizes different- more than I expected when I first saw these guys.
