FarmVille Prize Pig Problems: How would you make it better?

FarmVille Freak FarmGoddess’ Prize Pigs

FarmVille released the Prize Pig feature last week and now that we’ve all had a chance to experience this new feature for ourselves we are ready to talk about our complaints and how we could improve it.

I used my weekly column on AOL’s Games.com to weigh in on the Prize Pig problems by addressing a few of the main complaints we’ve been hearing from a lot of FarmVille Freaks and then offered up some of my suggestions for an easy solution to make this feature more enjoyable to those farmers trying their luck in Prize Pig raising and more enticing for players unwilling to try it out.

Here’s an excerpt below, for the rest of the story head on over to the Games.com blog here.

“Perhaps you’ve gotten bored with breeding Dragons and Unicorns and want to try your luck in something more traditionally agricultural on your FarmVille farm. How about rearing piglets with high hopes of raising the talk of the town Prize Pig? Well, you’re in luck because FarmVille recently introduced a new Prize Pig feature that is now widely available to all players.

The Real Weigh-in
First off, the Prize Pig feature has potential to be great, but there are some pesky flaws that are haltering all the fun. So far, the new feature has been negatively received by the majority of players who are finding it more of a hindrance than good times and here’s why.

Too Much Chow

Partner Problems

Annoying Notice”

More importantly, I want to hear what you have to say! What do you think, FarmVille Freaks? Are you enjoying raising Prize Pigs? What complaints and praises do you have? How would you improve this feature?

when you click on the pigs you do not have an option to sell which if you have too many of the same piglets you can’t get rid of them.

  2. Trix Says:

I WANT TO BE ABLE TO SELL MY PIGS!! And, there needs to be a way to get pig food other than requesting and trying to find it on posts.

  3. william brabant Says:

My big complaint was the bubble things over the pigs that you couldn’t re4move but blocked the crops you were trying to harvest. This same problem is apparent on the tombs etc that have to be removed from the playing fields but like to display number of tools needed to complete the task,

  4. Jann Wenturine Says:

There are many problems other than what was mentioned. 1. The pigs cannot be deleted, stored, or put into pens. They take up space. 2. It’s timed and if someone decides to help you and doesn’t, then you cannot complete it in the time given. 3. Finding pig slop is close to impossible on the news feed because either people are not posting it; are not participating in the pig game; or it’s already gone. Yes, you can make it…..1 every 6 hours…LOL! And yes, you can request it, if anyone clicks on it and sends you one……another LOL! The truth is that it’s not worth the time it takes and the work, yes work not fun, to complete one pig. Now if they cut the amount of pig slop down to 50 and then made it a bit easier to get pig slop, say we can make it 1 per 30 minutes, then it would be more fun. And we need to be able to store the pigs. Even if you have the largest farm available, you will run out of space eventually. Look at the sheep breeding as an example. Or the people who collect horses. Even with pens, we tend to have them spread out all over our farms because we accumulate so many. So this game, although it could be a lot of fun, is turning out to be a real pain.

I’ts too confusing. It doesn’t have a clear guide as far as what exactly you need to do and what the outcome will be. Plus if you get a replica pig like I did, there’s not even a sell or delete option. I don’t get the point of this feature. I deleted it.

  6. Sandra S. Says:

Ditto on the storage issue — big flaw! Also, I can’t figure out what prize I won after I weighed my pig…

  7. Exidor Says:

I dislike that one may not store in a building, put in storage to move to another farm, nor delete – according to support, the *only* time one may delete (sell?) a Prize Pig is when it is weighed. I have not yet tested _that_ assertion…

  8. Robin Says:

I honestly don’t even understand it!! I took 2 pigs through their weigh in, they sucked. 1 gave no rewards & the other was a few coins & xp. I’ve got 50 feed, but it doesn’t seem to deplete on it’s own & I can’t seem to use it. Don’t even get me started on how mad I was at accidentally using FC to feed them! I thought that was the point of the slop. This thing is lame!

  9. Tala Says:

I think they should up the number of clicks per link on the wall. The Give and Get runs out in three clicks, I think. That’s ridiculous! Why not TEN?

I know they make these difficult not to challenge players, but to encourage us to spend real money to collect the pieces required to complete a single round. I refuse! I will buy the trees and animals that catch my fancy, but I will not give them money to reward them for stacking the deck against our getting what we need from our neighbors. Bad Zynga! Bad!

  10. linda Says:

i agree with all of the comments about deleting or storage. also the bit about feed & posting. its next to impossible to get crops for making it so you have to grow it then if we have a quest going it is hard to do or multiple quests going as it seems to be the case lately. never enough time to complete things anymore on the game. dont have the space to hold a lot of useless pigs & what is it a man’s world with pigs as that seems to be all i get. what is it you have to pay real cash to get a female one? some players see you post & send out requests for you to help grow their pig but very few help out. farmville is getting to be too much of a job with all the building stuff, collecting stuff,,posting stuff you can get to what was once a fun game. hell part of time my posts freeze or dont post or my shockwave player is always crashing on the game. time limits are nuts with a lot of the stuff you have us do as 7 days to grow crops for a quest when some of those crops take more than 1 day & we dont have enough crop spaces cause we cant get expansions jade & hallow farms. i cant even finish my ribbons up or coop jobs. i am getting major burnout with the bombing us with so much to do. and to think farm number 8 is just around the corner in a few short weeks grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr another winter themed farm really couldnt they come up with something better
