FarmVille Crops: Basil & Cucumber

Posted on May 20, 2010 11:35 pm by FarmVille Freak FarmGoddess

FarmVille has added two new permanent crops to the FarmVille Market- Basil and Cucumber.

Since these are permenent crops, Crop Mastery will be available for both.

Basil seeds make an appropriate debut during the Italian Tuscan limited edition theme since basil is a staple of Italian cuisine. Basil seeds can be purchased for 300 coins, take 10 hours to grow and yield 400 coins with a profit of 100 coins and 1 XP.

Cucumber seeds can be purchased for 290 coins, take 1 day to grow and yield 450 coins with a profit of 160 coins and 2 XP.

  17. ReginaAgricola Says:

hot diggity damn! more green crops! how about some Tyson chicken factories for all my extra chickens Zynga??? I have like 100 of them. The farmville economy depends on either more chicken coops or chicken factories. get er done!!

  18. HollyKim Says:

I’m not sure what level cucumber is (I’m currently 46) but basil isn’t available until level 48.

  19. Terri Says:

I’m level 70, so anything new for me to aim for in the mastery section is welcome! lol

  20. Lynn Wakeham Says:

glad to see new crops but I would like to see some crops in 4 hour range ~ I think herbs would be perfect for this time range

  21. Farmaniac Says:

I too like 1 day crops so “welcome” to cucumbers.

They could have put a wee spin on some existing crops while this promo is on e.g. offering 1 more xp per planting for olives and tomatoes while we are in Tuscany.
I think we could do with a cheese factory too; somewhere to put our goats.

  22. Rob Says:

I am only six mastery signs away from having them all (well I guess eight now), once I get them all I think the game will become somewhat boring to me, so I’m always glad when they add new crops.

  23. Ralphy Says:

    @ Farmaniac
Since we already have olive trees, I’d be surprised if olives became a harvestable crop like cucumbers or basil.

I think new crops are always welcome. I am glad to see they are for higher levels, since there does not seem to be a lot to unlock past level 32.

  24. Marta Says:

cucumber!!! finally!!! and basil LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! A+ zanga

  25. Trish Says:

Yep…love new crops. Maybe we’ll see some more herbs with the Tuscan Theme!

  26. Grizzly Says:

Dang it, I was 4-5 days away from finishing all of the mastery’s, and they go and release two new crops… now I’m 19 days… sigh…

  27. Farmer Says:

Will definitely plant when I unlock these.

Would *love* to see garlic as a crop!

  28. redheaded1 Says:

Cukes and basil have already gone in my vegetable patch, but the rest of my farm is growing grapes for wine. And white grapes are taking FOREVER to master.

  29. outherealone Says:

    Basil = 8.5 coins/hour
    Cucumbers = 6.3 coins/hour

  30. raquel Says:

Yes Please More new crops I like it.

  31. shuvo60 Says:

Who cares !!! those ****ing crops r not so much of a profit.U mean 290 & 300 for a one plot . Those r really costly . I mean talk about big bucks man!!! I am not planting them. On the other side hope this new issue will come with bug free coz every new item zynga puts its buggy. So i am not planing them never in the future >>>>

  32. Stephanie Kraft Says:

I will plant them soon, even though I’m in the middle of mastering a different crop and I like to keep it in order. I just want to see what they look like fully grown!

  33. Bram Says:

or 1. add herbs to vegetables count on the ribbons, or make a new ribbon for herbs…..

Now I wasted my time planting basil >.>
