Earn FarmVille Style Maven Ribbons Using Coins Only!

Recently, FarmVille introduced a new Ribbon called “Style Maven”. This Ribbon can be obtained by purchasing different clothing items for your farmer avatar. A lot of farmers were unimpressed with this ribbon since almost 80% of the costumes available in the market had to be purchased with Farm Cash! Previously you could not earn all the Style Maven Ribbons using just coins.
Now, thanks to FarmVille Freak FarmGoddess, we found out today that the Blue Style Maven Ribbon can actually be received by purchasing clothing items for your avatar using coins only! A few new coin items were added to the Market inventory making this possible.
The trick to doing so is temporarily changing the gender of your avatar, (don’t worry, the effect won’t last!) so that you have access to both female and male avatar coin items available. Note, that you will also have to purchase coin Halloween costumes which can be pricey! Once all the coin items have been purchased, you can return to your previous gender and your favorite outfit after having received your Blue Ribbon reward!
There is also some good news for farmers who don’t wish to spend Farm Cash on costumes. A few new clothing items were introduced to the market today, that can be purchased for coins. These outfits are sneaking their way in slowly, so be on the lookout for more items that may be hitting the market until Halloween!

I can’t see how you can get the blue ribbon with coins. I have bought everything I can for coins including the new items just released and still need to purchase 14 more items to get the blue style maven ribbon.

I’m a bit confused by this entry. So you can only gain the style ribbon by purchasing clothing items with coins? Clothing items with farm cash does not add to the clothing count? I am sure yesterday I purchased items with both farm cash and coins and all items added towards my total.
Is anyone able to shed some light?

Hmm ok, to test this theory I just purchased the blue cardigan for 5FV and my “clothing items to go” went from 2 to 1. You can purchase items with both farm cash and coins. They both count towards your ribbon.

it took $1,040,195 to get them but I got them. Thank you for the tip. I am one less mastery now. now to just build my million back up for the expansion LOL its all good. happy farming and happy Halloween farmers!!!!!

Is it just me or do they make it too easy to purchase these items? I accidentally clicked ‘buy’ on the pair of $10 shorts, which I didn’t want, and there was no way to undo it. Sorry, but I think there are better ways to spend my farm cash than on shorts.

@Lauren- No, it was for people who do not have FV cash. You can get the ribbon faster if you use FV cash by paying real cash. But if you don’t have the real cash to spend on FV cash, you can still get the ribbon.

Unless something changed, either gender can wear a male or female costume.. you don’t need to change your gender.

i read somewhere that our farmers can only wear costumes for a limited time, if I loose my 3 costumes I’ll be mad, but i didn’t spend farmcash. does anyone know if this is true?

@me i was so close to the 2mill (only needed 150,000) but then the train came out and so did the combine, then halloween, then clothing….. now i only have about 150,000. i guess there is a lot of great stuff coming out for coins these days if more then just me has this problem. thanks zynga for releasing all that cool stuff (esp. the train <3 )
