FarmVille Freak Summary of FarmVille’s 03.12.10 Updates
Gifting Changes:
There has also been a change made to Gifting free items. Free Gifts sent by FarmVille neighbors that are older than 2 weeks will now expire and you will not be able to accept them. Make sure you are accepting your free gifts or they will be eaten up by Facebook Cyberspace!
From Zynga Community Manager Lexilicious:
- “Gifts that are older than two weeks will now expire. Prior to this release, if you have unaccepted gifts that are more than two weeks old you will no longer be able to accept them. ” (Source: Zynga’s FarmVille Official Forums)

- Last three Pot of Gold redeemable Gifts unlocked! Gifts are: Spring Pond, Lucky Fountain and Shamrock Castle

Everything really good, apart from the new comment system. Why do people need to see who sends me gifts?! I’d rather it just be the standard little sign. Pretty pointless, stalk-ish and slow. But yeah, good update =]

That’s so stupid, with the gifts..we only have 2 weeks to accept them..I thought they were supposed to be making things better for us ..not worse.
and the comment box!! So pointless! like really..why do we need to see who sends us gifts etc. that’s already there.. we already see who sends us gifts and who helps out on our farms..sooo pointless, I really don’t like the comment box, just a waste of space! seriously..we should have a choice if we want to remove it ..

the comment thing is pointless and a bit annoying…i already know who sends gifts, it tells us. as far as visiting my farm, frankly it doesn’t matter who it was really. besides i keep getting the out of sync thing when i try to use it and it’s just another thing to stare at on the screen. the only new item i like is the bike. i am hoping for farm items not all this non farm stuff.

They could have given us a warning before expiring our gifts. My giftbox is filling up with gold coins and collection items, so i haven’t been able to accept all my gifts.

where are the DOGS. i dont want any more french stuff or shamrock green stuff. i want my dog. i wish farmville would not have said anything and released when they were ready because im so tired of waiting. lol.

Thanks for the updates but I will not be spending any more money on Farmville until the farm are expanded again or have the capability for a farm b or farm c like in farmtown!

I agree with a lot of you. The comment box is annoying and pointless and frankly its a real eye sore on the screen.
They keep giving us these items, that aren’t even farm related, but they have yet to offer another expansion or the dog they keep teasing us with..
I like what someone said before, they should offer us farms a, b & c like they do in fishville and farmtown, that way we can decorate one and farm on another.
Everything is so geared towards farm cash lately! If they need money that badly they should make the option for a monthly subscription, instead of farmcash, and free to play would stay the same. I would subscribe monthly if i could get all these cool things, but i’m against buying things individually.

what the assholes!!!! they should’ve warned us they were going to change the gifting system. I have a lot of fuel waiting to be accepted and a few tall grasses. I wanted to use them while re-decorating my farm in the future:/ f*ck:/

There is also a small change that I think is telling of things to come. All of my ducks and ugly ducks when they are rotated so you can see their face, (don’t know about backs because I have the hockey ring so they have helmets) HAVE NO LEGS!!!!!!
Does this mean we may be able to put them in ponds soon? Or they are the next to get storage? Or that I am reading too much into this? Either way, interesting point to be noted.

I have only just managed to get 100 gold from friends. And still want more. And somehow also need to get 50 building materials in the correct mix as well. Seem to send nothing then everything at once.

yeah im pretty upset that they didin’t warn us about the change in gift policy..i was secretly using that as a storage until i was ready to use the gifts and now all of the gifts are expired! ugh

If it hasn’t changed, you can send one person a gift every 4 hours. Total gift to all neighbors was 30, but I thought it went down a several weeks ago to maybe 25(?).

And they keep just doing little different paintings on existing items and sell them for a lot of FV-Dollars – like the bed&breakfast – just add a little green and sell it for 60 Dollars – YEAH……;-((

Yea because even if you just sent the person a gift, but they send you one you can’t even thank them. and before you were allowed to..so that sucks.

Maybe they should rethink the 2 weeks for right now. I’m sure others are having same problem. I can’t get anything out of my gift box, therefore I can’t accept gifts or collectibles,etc.

@ SZYSZ ~ Why aren’t you accepting your fuel gifts? You should… once you click on “Use” when it’s in the gift box it goes to your “backup fuel storage” the “little red tank” with the yellow bar to the right of it… just above the neighbor bar on the left of the screen.

What a load of crap. They haven’t fixed nothing… in fact keep making things worse and more irritable.

Is anyone else having trouble with their storage? The buttons that say “Use” and “sell” aren’t clickable for anything besides the first item on the page. It’s really annoying…
Don’t need the comment thing- waste of time! The little message posts we’ve always had are cute and effective enough- why can’t we just post those, and have the person reply on them, and keep comments strictly on those? Who needs this new stuff, it looks like PETVILLE.
I was this close to saying “FV heard our begging, and gave us a coins building (the Maison, even if you need neighbors) YAY!” but…17 days? The gold will probably end around then, too, and they pile on 50, 75, and 100g items, as well as giving us a time limit on the Maison? I don’t think that was a smooth move at all, making us choose one or the other. (not all of us have 100+ FV-only friends and all) So I’m undecided on that.
But the castle made me happy! I don’t care about the FVC stuff anymore, because that castle is awesome!
I like to have “one of everything” and so I want the Lucky vehicles, but what would I even do with them and where would they go? I think it’s a waste, putting those up against the Hot Rods, unless your favorite color’s green. =/ How about a little less recoloring, a little more dog?

@ Joemamma – he means the other ugly ducklings and ducks already on your farm, the ones that walk around. I bought the pond, and my ugly duckling as well as a duck or two facing me looks like it’s sitting. No legs, no water.

I am really dissapointed in what this site has become. Why do you have to publish 10 different posts on one update? You are faster than other fan sites, but you are doing a crappy job at it, in my opinion. Try doing the news on updates like fanatic…

Hi Tijana, we split the Updates into separate posts because it is easier for people to discuss and comment on each specific topic instead of having all the Updates in one giant post with hundreds of comments.
For discussion purposes this is what works best for organization.
We have always done it this way. I’m sorry that you do not like it, but we will not be changing it.
If anyone else has comments or suggestions feel free to voice them here.

I bought the lucky farm vehicles immediately! Much less in your face than the hot rod or regular vehicles, they look awesome! Also can’t wait to buy a castle! I hate the comments though. Good update overall, I love when the updates are a bit overwhelming, I love exploring the market for new things!

For me Farmville is getting to be more a pain in the ass than fun. I am at level 50, Last night I took leave of my senses and decided to “enhanced” my farm. After 3hrs working at it, I went to bed. Woke up this morning to continue only to find that not a damn thing was saved. Then for 2hrs it won’t let me log on, keep getting the out of sync error. I can send gold to my husband, he can’t send any to me. This afternoon when I was finally able to log on, I NOTICED SOMETHING REALLY WEIRD, ALL OF MY ITEMS ON THE FARM LOOKED LIKE THEY WERE PACKED LIKE SARDINES. AT FIRST I THOUGHT THAT THEY PROBABLY MADE THE BUILDINGS BIGGER, THEN I SAW THAT THE ANNIMALS, TEDDY BEARS ETC HAD NO SPACE BETWEEN THEM. I then realized what Zynga did – the money grubbing sob’s. THEY REDUCE THE NUMBER OF PIXELS ON THE MIGHTY PLANTATION, most likely to cut their costs. Problem is when you moved an item, it doesn’t fit back into the space, so I am guessing that their is going to be a whole lot less items on my farm.
YOU KNOW THE GODS AT ZYNGA, SHOULD REALLY NOT PISS THEIR PLAYERS OFF, IF THEY ARE SO HELL BENT ON MAKING MONEY, THEN CHARGE PEOPLE TO PLAY, INSTEAD OF BEING SO DAMN SNEAKY ABOUT IT.
ALSO WHY DO WE PAY FVC FOR ITEMS BUT CAN ONLY SELL FOR COINS. THAT SURE AS HELL ISN’T FAIR.

Haven’t gifts always expired at some point? I had bunch of 1/5 fuel tanks from free fuel week (early January) that I let sit unaccepted for a long time, and when I tried to accept them a few weeks ago, I got nothing – no error message, but also nothing in my gift box. Bummer!

To much St Patricks day stuff ( although I like a lot of them)
Stupid recolering of buildings and machinery
stupid to put so much new stuff all at once on FV( French chateau and st Patricks day items in 1 week)
To much stuff that is not farmrelated
they could make so many farmers much happier with simple things like rotations of buildings and paths and stream but no, they give us castles, colored sheep and other stupid things.
To much out of sync messages,
Stupid new message box.I also liked the small plaques to put on the farm.
I have the impression that Zygna is alianation A LOT of people and certainly the long time players.

They now require you be signed up for email to read comments!!! Farmville just keeps getting more annoying every day. I am NOT going allow them to start spamming me. It is bad enough dealing with the constant requests to post to my wall. Now they want to invade my email as well? I”M QUITTING THIS ANNOYING GAME UNLESS THEY CHANGE THIS. I can’t even read the sign I posted anymore. Idiots.

I was wondering, what are the chances that in the decorations section…Farmville might make available to be bought with COINS…driveways, stepping stones or sidewalks? I think this would make the areas around the homes look very nice. What do all of you other FarmVille Freaks think??

I agree with 13 and 17 — it is really unfair that they changed the gift acceptance policy with no warning. I had a bunch of stuff sitting there that I wanted but was in no rush to accept, and now it’s all useless. There was no need for that — they could have just told us to get it out or it would be gone. What is the point in upsetting people and pissing us off?

i know this does not relate to the updates but i can’t find a better place to post this. is there a place to post suggestions? i won’t even rehash all the problems we all have, but would like to suggest they make a harvestable bee hive. i keep hoping for new items that are more farm related.

im getting sick of farmville! All the good stuff are in Farm cash and its been really really slow lately. I cant even fix my farm without getting frustrated by how slow farmville is working! It always freezes my internet and it pisses me off.
