FarmVille Animal Mastery Slowly Rolling Out
FarmVille Lady Gaga Unicorn Mastery Sign
FarmVille Animal Mastery is finally slowly rolling out to all farmers. If you don’t have access to this new feature, hold tight as you soon will.
Animal Mastery works similar to other FarmVille Mastery. Just as you can master crops and trees, you will now be able to master animals. With each harvest you will earn mastery points that count towards that animals mastery.
Each specific animal breed will have its own mastery. For example, instead of just mastering Horses in general, you will need to work on each breed’s mastery such as American Horse mastery, Clydesdale mastery, and so on.

FarmVille Master Animals Loading Screen
Animal Mastery has three star levels just as other FarmVille masteries. With each star level that you achieve, you will receive bonus rewards of Farm Coins and XP. Finally, after mastering all three star levels on an animal you will receive an Animal Mastery Sign.
FarmVille Animal Mastery Rewards:
- 1 Star Level Mastery – 25 XP and 500 Farm Coins
- 2 Star Level Mastery – 75 XP and 1,500 Farm Coins
- 3 Star Level Mastery – 250 XP and 5,000 Farm Coins, plus an Animal Mastery Sign

What do you think of FarmVille Animal Mastery? Are you excited to master animals on your farm?

Posted on August 4th, 2011 at 9:33 pm
Not much, We have no room for signs as it is.
Posted on August 4th, 2011 at 9:33 pm
I think it is stupid, there is enough to do on here. That is just making it more insane and less fun.
Posted on August 4th, 2011 at 9:33 pm
Sooooo… this looks like only for animals that cost FV bucks. Or possibly gotten with darts which cost $ unless you were lucky enough to get a free one.
Posted on August 4th, 2011 at 9:34 pm
0.0
64 pages….
64×8= 512 Animals to try and master.
THAT’S INSANE!
Posted on August 4th, 2011 at 9:36 pm
Animal mastery is totally dumb. I don’t buy every single farm cash animal. And besides, they say sheep and pig mastery coming soon. there are thousands of combinations for sheep and pigs, what will be their name ? how many mastery signs there will be ? As a mastery sign hoarder, I’m super annoyed with this new mastery feature :/
Posted on August 4th, 2011 at 9:36 pm
Not something I’m gonna concentrate on. Crops are my thing, then come trees. Animal mastery takes the signs WAY TOO Far.
Posted on August 4th, 2011 at 9:38 pm
NO. I hardly have room for all the Mastery signs they give us already! At this point, we might as well just put down nothing but signs? What next, master decorations?
Please, Zynga, reconsider this!
Posted on August 4th, 2011 at 9:43 pm
This is really getting to be too much. Animals are exspensive & the only way to get them is to buy them with FV cash which alot of players can not afford. Even when you collect foals they grow up to be plain horses which is totally unfair. If farmville keeps going the way it is, I well be forced to quit because I will not be able to afford to play.
Posted on August 4th, 2011 at 9:44 pm
i am so not doing this!!! since it is now individual animals im done with farmville…… if it was just type then fine, but there are animals to master that only came in the mystery games- some of us dont have them………….. THIS IS STUPID AND JUST SHOWS HOW GREEDY ZYNGA HAS BECOME!!
Posted on August 4th, 2011 at 9:51 pm
I just noticed this in my farm ^_^ it has tons of animals, most of them which I don’t even have
but it should be interesting trying to get the masteries for the ones I do have
! Hope this new thing doesn’t lag, though.
Posted on August 4th, 2011 at 9:52 pm
Kinda cool… But wish it would have happened earlier.
Posted on August 4th, 2011 at 9:55 pm
I wish you could master general animals instead of individual kinds, such as just “sheep” or “cows” instead of “american cow,” “brown cow,” etc. Since most animals are FV cash only, I just feel like I’m missing a lot and can’t beat that part of the game.
Posted on August 4th, 2011 at 10:14 pm
Stupid just stupid….how many people you think actually fed the Zynga pig for all these animals…I am guessing not very many….just another money grab on their part.
Posted on August 4th, 2011 at 10:17 pm
Sixty-four PAGES of masteries?!! Our farms will be overflowing with masteries by that point!!!!!
Posted on August 4th, 2011 at 10:18 pm
Thank god I don’t even have a quarter of the animals listed…
Posted on August 4th, 2011 at 10:31 pm
I think its a good idea. Just like trees, of course you can only master the types that you have – so yes, most will never master the ones that cost FV Cash but you can still do the rest. Any maybe my neighbours that keep a million livestock will finally sell a few off once they have mastered them! Once I have mastered a tree I sell the rest except for those few that I want to keep for decorating. This may actually “clean up” some busy farms
Posted on August 4th, 2011 at 10:44 pm
“3 Star Level Mastery – 250 XP and 5,000 Farm Coins, plus an Animal Mastery Sign”… my @$$. Just another Z* tactic to keep everyone glued to Farmville.
Posted on August 4th, 2011 at 10:51 pm
The signs I have are taking up way too much room on my farms. Why do we need more coins? All the good items are for real money…there’s really no point.
Posted on August 4th, 2011 at 10:55 pm
I mastered rhode island red chickens from harvesting 1 chicken, wtf? This is ridiculous. WAY TOO MANY animals to harvest like this. They need to change it to general animals, i.e. “chickens”, “sheep”, “cows”, etc.
Stupid move by Zynga. This could have been a really cool thing, but you messed it up.
Posted on August 4th, 2011 at 11:07 pm
What about foals and calfs?
Posted on August 4th, 2011 at 11:18 pm
L0L i used one farm hands got 14 masterys signs
including: golden chikens, scotts grey, black chikens, white turkeys, chikens, brown chikens, belted duck, black cat, rabbits, white cat, llamas, baby elephants, Bovine-09, and black pony….. hurray more signs i have absolutely no room for!!!!
Posted on August 4th, 2011 at 11:18 pm
I am going to enjoy this. I used to collect horses before everything got so expensive. I am enjoying mastering those that I have. I don’t want to have to store my mastery signs, and I am not paying real money to enlarge the farm….so now the question is what to do with the mastery signs..
Posted on August 4th, 2011 at 11:30 pm
Whos predicting Gnome Mastery next!!!!
Posted on August 4th, 2011 at 11:37 pm
Getting more points fine with me. i wish I could get more animals for coins or that more of the horses would grow up into the same breed, etc… having special animals not really an incentive if we’ve all got more than enough to deal with.
Posted on August 4th, 2011 at 11:46 pm
That’s a nice sales pitch for people to waste money on animals just to master, for what! a silly sign… No thanks not for me..
Posted on August 5th, 2011 at 12:01 am
There are 65 pages now..and throughout all those pages the foal’s are not part of the mastery. That really sucks because I have tons of those. I am to the point where I am only going to keep one animal of each kind of breed. If it takes me a whole year to master that one type of breed then so be it. I have a huge farm full of baby animals that is useless to keep. From now on I dont care about masteries. I am going to play for the joy of it. Not to be competive..zynga caught the wave that we all are trying to out do each other on the masteries and ran with it. I’m not going to give them any more ammo to use on me.
Posted on August 5th, 2011 at 12:27 am
Thats it!I am out of this stupid gready game!
Posted on August 5th, 2011 at 12:32 am
I swore I was done with Farmville after I got four messages from a former neighbor reminding me to harvest a crop that wasn’t ready yet… but when Zynga did away with that “feature” I somehow slipped back into the fold. The Animal Mastery may be enough to push me out the door again. It was fun when we could plant, harvest, plant, harvest. All this other stuff is just too much.
Posted on August 5th, 2011 at 12:46 am
This is crazy!! Where are we supposed to put all these signs??!!??? I guess they want us to keep cramming stuff on our farms till we break and buy all the expansions. NOT!!!
Posted on August 5th, 2011 at 1:25 am
I agree with everyone so far. And Guinastasia, there already IS mastery on some decorations (in the Craftshop) LOL. What I really hate is that the Facebook feed will/is becoming too backlogged with the mastery of animals and posting the single star, then double, then triple star mastery. It is already really time consuming to go backwards on your feed to see what you missed and this will make it take even longer.
Posted on August 5th, 2011 at 2:34 am
What’s the big deal? This is a game. If you don’t want 2 buy any animals then just don’t master them. Master the ones you have, it gives you coins and free XPs for just using ur farmhands. Why stress over it? I’m know that there are much more important live issues to stress over. Don’t you think ! I work in an ICU and I see struggle and death daily. FV helps me de-stress. Just enjoy the game level up faster and get your farmcash. But if you don’t enjoy the game don’t cry and whine about here Quit ! There is more 2 life !! Be Well and Happy Farming
Posted on August 5th, 2011 at 2:36 am
this will take years to master for because i dont keep more then one breed of animal. so this will be something else i wont be doing much of.
Posted on August 5th, 2011 at 2:51 am
Deleted my account last week after two years and I haven’t looked back. As much as I loved the game, this was one reason I quite. I can’t waste my time doing this stupid stuff anymore. It feels good to be free from this game that is just now desperate to try and hold people to it all while having nothing new for players who don’t wish to spend real money. I suggest you guys take a break and realize how much life is better without Farmville!
Posted on August 5th, 2011 at 2:55 am
The animals are really easy to master by the look of it. I have 6 mastery signs already without trying. Don’t have the space for any more signs so they have gone straight into storage, but the XP for mastering them is a good bonus….. i guess :S Will not be focusing on this, crops are the only thing i am trying to master.
Posted on August 5th, 2011 at 3:04 am
“Where are we supposed to put all the signs”?
Come on, what’s your problem?! Is there ANYTHING Zynga can do that wouldn’t piss you off? I always store my mastery signs. That works fine!
I can’t believe there’s people who can’t even handle an animal mastery without getting pissed.
I don’t use the new craftshop building. And I don’t finish all the quests. I store a lot of stuff, such as decorations, gnomes, and things that I don’t need. I delete a lot of things too. So, try to relax a little. It’s an online game, not a job. Play it your way.
As for myself, I’m going to enjoy this new mastery!
Getting some more XP and coins – it’s always welcome! I won’t buy any new animals, but to try to master the ones that I have will be fun! And what to do with the signs? I really don’t care!
Posted on August 5th, 2011 at 3:05 am
512 Animals !! waw… FV Please Bring those Animals to market. I will buy all those even if they come for farmcash.. I want to master all the animals..
Posted on August 5th, 2011 at 3:16 am
Everybody has his own decision to do something or not to do something. I for example am not breeding sheeps and pigs and I very rarely do something in my craft shop and I produce goods only on my main farm (this last mainly because I can’t get rid of as much goods as I could produce). I’m working on crops masteries, not yet on “super” crops although I have all other masteries with the exception of one and I’m working on trees masteries. I won’t pay attention on animals masteries at all. That’s what I decided and you have the right to decide the same. Although I think I have all the beautiful animals that were ever available. And all my mastery signs are stored. No real problem where to put them. And besides you can still sell them
Posted on August 5th, 2011 at 3:27 am
this is so pointless.
im gonna focus in crops, crafts and trees that dont cost fv cash.
Posted on August 5th, 2011 at 3:29 am
Love the animal mastery – but think the levels are WAY too low – only 5 animals for level 1! And I don’t think ti takes many animals to reach level 3 – whereas with Trees you could need 400+ harvests to get level 3!! Doesn’t make sense.
I agree about the mastery signs though – I don’t know why Zynga don’t just scrap them and replace them with a scrollable bar at the top of the screen which changes as you visit other farms – so you can see all items that person has mastered in a nice convient place!
Posted on August 5th, 2011 at 3:33 am
omg! there are so many animals on there that were only for $fv cash. i am hoping they will bring out a mastery of mastery signs! lmao!!!
Posted on August 5th, 2011 at 4:12 am
I’ve been playing 2 years, I have all masteries with trees and crops, but now this is the beginning of the end with farmville for me. It’s not fun anymore… sorry
Posted on August 5th, 2011 at 5:45 am
It’s impressive to see how many people disagree with all. They put something new that we havent before, and people complain. If you dont want to master animals, dont master them. If you dont want more signs, delete them, but dont cry for absolutely all, it’s absurd and childish. As far as i know, anyone is forcing you to do that, it’s just another option that we have.
Posted on August 5th, 2011 at 6:03 am
Of course, I’ll master animals I have, since it’s not like I have to do anything extra to achieve it. I don’t consider using farmhands every few days a hard work. Sure, we will have more feed spam, but meh, w/e. I don’t care about mastering ALL animals. I don’t buy LE animals, so it’s normal, that I’ll have blank spots in the mastery charts. Just like I have blanks in crops mastery [I'm not buying FV cash crops]. So overall, with this upgrade, my only complain is – Where I’m supposed to put my mastery signs?! I need a 3rd farm, just for that =p
Posted on August 5th, 2011 at 6:08 am
I think that we should be rewarded better for masteries – instead of 5000 coins (which we all need like a hole in the head) we should be rewarded with 1 farm cash, just like levelling up. Also there should be some sort of mastery board for us to put our mastery signs in, neighbours can click on and see what you have mastered.
Posted on August 5th, 2011 at 6:15 am
So useless. My farm is already stuffed and I don’t have more room for new mastery signs…. Besides, it’s really taking the fun out of the game. I’m already busy with mastering my crops and trees and collecting special horses. Don’t need this new mastery crap.
Posted on August 5th, 2011 at 8:37 am
Has anyone else had this issue with the bulls? When I harvested them this morning, with the mastery floating icon above all their heads, almost all of them shrunk down to about one fifth their size! Now there are a bunch of really little bulls there… its so strange hopefully Zynga fixes this glitch.
Posted on August 5th, 2011 at 8:57 am
Animal mastery is just another reason why this game is no longer fun. Lots of friends have stopped playing, and many, including myself, have cut back. FV needs to get back to the basics – way too much meaningless crap!
Posted on August 5th, 2011 at 8:58 am
I mastered belted cows in one day! Of course, I’ve got over 250 belted cows sitting in dairy barns between both of my farms. But still… kinda cool I guess.
Posted on August 5th, 2011 at 9:17 am
As a Mastery-obsessive player (140 crops, every Pub & Spa formula, 59 trees, 3 craftshop) I will NOT be attempting for animals. With only two exceptions, all my animals that don’t have a specific storage building are just stored in order to speed up gameplay and make better use of space and can’t be harvested. I had enough Cornish chickens to get the sign after one harvest, but that’s all so far. I’ll enjoy the coin and XP bonuses, but animal mastery will just be peripheral to what I do. After all, except for a few special animals I sold off all but two of each.

If you click on the posts that comes when others master you get Bottles. Thats enough for me
Posted on August 5th, 2011 at 11:08 am
There’s just no point trying to do this, as with the tree’s it will be almost impossible to keep up with the amount of things released, if it was coins then yeah maybe this would be different but its not so people aren’t going to bother, and also, to master what’s on the chart, Zynga will have to keep re-releasing things its already previously re-released! Come on guys, Think of something original that is reasonable to your loyal players, many have left because of the features being released, and this will just keep encouraging people to leave.. Stop being greedy and remember the people that got you to where you are now in the first place!!!!
Posted on August 5th, 2011 at 11:47 am
I think they should make a so called orchard for mastery signs just so we can keep them out instead of filling up our storage or farm land.
Posted on August 5th, 2011 at 12:08 pm
I just received animal mastery yesterday. Already mastered 6 types of horses and poncho lama.
Posted on August 5th, 2011 at 12:28 pm
I don’t think that this is very fair to the farmers who want to get the signs but can’t because all Farmville does is make the animals worth farm cash. This is very annoying why not make it more acceable to the other players who want to continue but can’t because they are greedy.
Posted on August 5th, 2011 at 2:37 pm
You guys are complaining about no room on you farm”s” thats right You have 2 Farms Both with the opition to be 30×30 and a storage compasity of 500+ and your complaining that you have no room.
P.S Did you Know that there is a Deletion button
Posted on August 5th, 2011 at 4:44 pm
No foal or calf mastery!? Epic fail.
Posted on August 5th, 2011 at 6:33 pm
I did my stable and both lots of animals on each farm and ended up with 24 pages of mastery signs in my gift box. That’s 144 mastery signs. I tried playing about 30, but gave up. I like my mastery signs, but that is just crazy. So animals got the 1st mastery star after one turn in the stable. They obviously don’t need much to master them. It was just annoying more than anything with all the mastery posts.
Posted on August 5th, 2011 at 10:17 pm
I guess for people who are so mastery obsessed that they are willing to spend hundreds of dollars a year to master animals, this will be perfect for them. For me, though, I will just master the animals I already have and call it a day. Animal mastery seems pretty easy, in general. Only a few animal harvests are required for 3-star mastery. I’ve already got a couple signs, which promptly went into storage. I have so many signs, my farm has become a bit overrun with them all.
Posted on August 6th, 2011 at 2:36 am
storage capacity is 1000 on both farms, so 2000. everyone should have space for a couple more mastery signs. and if you dont want to master animals either sell all your animals or delete the signs once you get them. its a a game, choose what parts of it you want to play
Posted on August 6th, 2011 at 8:20 am
These animals master so ridiculously fast it’s almost not worth it, I mean every time I do my “rounds” I get about 5 mastery signs haha, there’s no challenge. With the trees it takes months and months to master!
Posted on August 6th, 2011 at 2:56 pm
i agree with a couple other people that posted. if you like it go for it, if not…don’t. my only complaint is there is yet another reason to have a screen pop up and slow me down. it would be awesome if there was a was to opt out of something like this. i know it won’t happen so i will just keep clicking the little x.
Posted on August 6th, 2011 at 4:09 pm
I’ve been playing for such a long time and harvested animals sooo many times. Too bad that doesn’t count towards mastery
Posted on August 7th, 2011 at 8:08 am
Well this is a big let down for me.
I’m a mastery freak, I have spent a fortune on trees just so I can get the mastery signs to go alongside my crop signs.
Looking at the market and the price of the animals I will NOT be purchasing these.
Farmville management know how a lot of players are “addicted” to collecting mastery signs and I feel they are taking advantage of such people.
Of course it’s their choice whether to pay for them or not but I still think they are preying on the weak.
Well my mastery addiction has just been cured so thanks Zynga, I don’t give a damn whether I have the animal mastery signs or not now.
Now if they had given EVERYONE the option to buy farmcash at 40% off then I may have considered it but the fact that they are picking and choosing who get’s what is even worse.
I will keep playing and buying the trees but they can F off as far as purchasing animals at 27FC goes just for a sign to put on my farm.
Posted on August 7th, 2011 at 3:57 pm
Welcome to the people skinner box. More “rewards” for your real money.
Posted on September 4th, 2011 at 4:50 pm
I would like to know if there is a way to tell how far along you are before you get to your first mastery on a Black Elephant? In other words how many times do you have to harvest your Zoo with a Black Elephant in it to get 1st level mastery?
