FarmVille Visit England FaceBook Scam
We have received reports of FarmVille Freaks seeing strange notices on their Facebook feeds this morning! The picture shown above can be seen on Facebook. It says that a certain farmer has chosen to visit England and if you wish to go, follow the link.
Please be aware that this is a scam! This is NOT a notice from the official FarmVille Zynga game!
Shown below are also some of the images you will see if you click your way through this false notice.
We suggest that if you see an unusual notice on your Facebook feed, to block that app immediately. Better safe than sorry!

I want it!!!!
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 10:58 am
Yes I got one an hour ago. I clicked on it but when I saw everything you had to do I clicked out. Didn’t know it was a scam.
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 10:58 am
yes and I clicked on it but nothing happened except another one came to the feed what on earth are they to gain??
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 10:58 am
Damn I already click on it !!!
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 10:59 am
I JUST saw this and actually clicked on it. Found it to be a scam. Deleted the post, however, another neighbor had already clicked on it also. I commented on her post that this was a scam.
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 11:00 am
You want it?? Better read again.. I just saw this on my feed and left a comment that it is a scam.. thank you!
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 11:00 am
This was on my Farmville page last night (Tuesday, Feb. 15th). It appears to take you to the Farm Bonuses page where they want you to sign up for their B.S. snag bar. Needless to say, I didn’t fall for it. All I want to do is play a clean, fair game with my neighbors.
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 11:00 am
simple, always report scam like I do.
If everyone does the same, it will be deleted from FB in a short period.
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 11:00 am
This has been on my feeds from at least 5 different friends today.
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 11:00 am
Jesus your a bit late with this, that board has been up for over a week now
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 11:01 am
It was on my page a week ago, and the flight thing came through from a friend….I clicked it, but nothing happened…
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 11:02 am
I saw this almost 2 weeks ago and advised friends that this was a scam
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 11:03 am
Saw this yesterday (2/15/11). Clicked on it, found it to be a scam & backed out deleted it.
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 11:07 am
I saw this sign about a week ago and I clicked on it and it gave me a top hat with a flag on it??
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 11:07 am
if it is a scam why did we all get the hat’s. and are we really going to England.
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 11:09 am
I report the apps and any delete any neighbors (after trying to get them to remove the apps) using the cheat apps. It’s an ongoing process.
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 11:09 am
I too clicked on it, but nothing happened. I went to the farm and didn’t see anything, so went back to the news feed and couldn’t find the post. Am now advising friends.
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 11:13 am
Another new scam….

I don’t think England is a scam, but these particular posts are scams. Farmville is working on the England portion of their game. Just like so many things there is a long build up to it.
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 11:13 am
Now u post it?!?!!??
I thought it was real, because i live in brazil and so many fv things are note allowed here!!! =(
Stuped me…
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 11:14 am
Thanks for making our members aware of this phising scam, We appreciate it and have contacted the facebook developers to have this removed and are editing the game to make it look less real for now along with any other scams.
Thanks a lot,

This has been showing up for a while now. Best way to tell a scam from a real offer is to check the bottom of the announcement where it says “via”…. if it doesn’t say FarmVille it is a scam.
But I’m wondering, why is this any different from the hundreds of other posts we see that are scams for FarmVille Freak to warn us about it?
Like the ones that say “via purplecow, cashcow, getfarmcash…..etc.
Those types of scams are always showing up and never any warnings about them.
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 11:20 am
@Debbie. This is not the post about the hat. FV is going to have England but this post is not it. Please read thoroughly. This post is not from Farmville.
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 11:23 am
“”YOU WANT IT”" ….. what an IDIOT!!!
I can just imagine how you o through life… you are probably one of those “needy” “greedy” “hangy” “clingy” people…… that has to HAVE EVERYTHING…. and by the looks of your post, you do….
GOOD…. you can HAVE IT… you are probably the reason the scam was started!! You are probably one of those people whom CLICK on every one of those scams that reach across your screen because “”"YOU WANT IT!!!! “” Pfffttt… : /~ you are gonna get snaked!
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 11:24 am
@Debbie Brubaker
The thing is simple, the screen shots above are images taken on facebook pages that are scam. It has nothing to do with the game. In fact, some of them have surveys which often brings viruses with them.
It is very simple to determine if something is scam or not. If you mouse over the links you can see the path where it will bring you to.
For stuff related to the game the urls always start with
http://apps.facebook.com/onthefarm/ …
For scam the urls start with:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/ …
Zynga will tell you ingame when the England theme stuff is released.
Or check the forum…
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 11:25 am
thank you for posting this! i haven’t seen one on my facebook as of yet! but i sure will keep a eye open for sure!
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 11:27 am
I just seen it on my feed it looks legit so I clicked it and it gave me a blank white screen to stare at so I started asking neighbors about it one knew what it was and told me about and sent me here I shared it on my wall and when I got here shared it typing in capital letters one word “READ” how can you tell?? it looks just like the one in farmville
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 11:28 am
It says via farmville at the bottom and if you go to block it it wants to block farmville so..
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 11:30 am
oh crap!! I just clicked on that
Im usually *really* good about detecting the scams too.. a lot of my neighbors look to me to know if it’s for real or not..
what got me about this one is that it’s posted via “FarmVille” – just like that, with the ‘F’ and ‘V’ capitalized. Ive read before, and it’s always held up until this point, that anything posted with both those capital letters was legit, and non-legit ones would not have at least the ‘V’ cap[ital…. LAME!!
what do these “scams” do for the people who put them out there? It’s not like you’re putting in your login or personal infoz or credit card numbers.. so what do they gain by putting these “scams” out there?? does anyone have good answers about that?
guess I better go delete that scam post off my wall and issue an apology!
happy farming all!!
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 11:32 am
I clicked on it but thought it was a scam so got off without doing anything else.
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 11:34 am
yet another scam, but this was did say “via FarmVille” and had the corn next to it, somehow farmville needs to notify us of these in advance
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 11:35 am
you gotta watch the whole thing now – what gives that one away is the “click me”, I’ve also seen “unlike” – things that don’t normally appear in valid posts.
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 11:35 am
The thing is, this one is actually called FarmVille. No errors in the spelling or anything, no period after it, even the logos are the same. The only giveaway was the application page, which showed very few of my friends using it or liking it.
A couple of my friends got taken by it and it actually posted a fake truffle to my wall. When I clicked on it, it asked for additional permissions instead of the usual page asking if I wanted to share it back. Then it started posting fake mystery eggs to my feed.
When I went to remove it, I had two identical “Farmville”s listed under my apps.
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 11:46 am
@#8 – the problem with one is that it DOES say “FarmVille” Ive always used that method to tell legit posts from non-legit ones too, but now it looks like we’re gonna have to come up with another way. I’ll admit, “click me” did seem suspicious to me, but because of the “FarmVille” I gave it a shot… bastards!
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 11:47 am
this information is as reported via Farmville, as the posts of the farm, locks, blocks the farm too.
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 11:52 am
To see if it is a scam when it says “via FarmVille” you just have to click on the “FarmVille”, it will bring you to the developer page. There should be the usual zynga message there as well as the zynga logo and a link to their homepage. If it’s not, then you know it’s a scam!
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 11:59 am
Tilt i never get that far and no worries here cause i have a program -Norton & Mozilla firefox- both scan for bugs before the page is run. They both automaticaly block virus based programs so i don’t see them…..
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 12:05 pm
No, I don’t see anything so I guess that it’s SAFE!!
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 12:30 pm
Come on – why can’t Zynga keep the scams off the site?
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 12:34 pm
Click on the X to the top right of the post, it will say ‘delete all by_____’ If It does not say FarmVille there, it’s not FarmVille for sure.
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 12:53 pm
I didn’t see this on facebook but got it on my farm. I don’t remember having to click on book your flight. WHAT APPLICATION DO I LOOK FOR TO DELETE? OR WHAT’S THE ADDRESS.
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 12:56 pm
@reincloud when you put your phone number in they are able to access stuff in your phone like minutes
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 1:02 pm
A friend of mine had a Farmville armored foal on her feed, I clicked on it to “adopt” the foal and then it brought me to a Farmville Bonus page. It asked me to post the same message on my feed. Is this a scam as well? I just exed out of everything and didn’t try it.
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 1:32 pm
what happens when the feed is clicked because nothing has happened to me and i clicked it. btw add me i hav the only name of jiggle jaggle and send gifts most days
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 1:44 pm
@Richard
If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
There is no way FV is going to give out free (and unreleased to boot) items via the feed when they can make money off of it selling in the market for Farm Cash. If the link take you somewhere that doesn’t seem right like another page, a log in screen, ect, it’s a scam.

dang it, already clicked it, nothing happened, why the heck do people do this stuff?
ughhh!!
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 2:16 pm
Too bad it’s a scam… just posted on my wall that I was going to England. Hopefull no bad things will happen now
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 2:16 pm
@ Maria:
When you go to block it by clicking the X, it says FarmVille. That’s why this one is trickier than the others.
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 2:42 pm
Just curious….does it SERIOUSLY take someone warning people to keep them away from this crap?? USE YOUR NOODLE PEOPLE!!! It is NOT hard to tell a scam from the real thing….if you have a brain!!
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 3:26 pm
Anything that takes you to a page that gets you to fill in surveys, buy goods or anything of that nature is a scam. Anything genuinely Farmville will take you into your farm or their proper publishing page. And it does not take a genius to figure that out. If it’s not listed on farmville freak, farmville fanatics or farmville latest (and I have to say farmville latest is the best site of them all to know what is either released or unreleased) it doesn’t belong to Farmville or Zynga. And that does not require genius to figure out either.
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 3:53 pm
Maybe this is a new game promotion? I clicked on an icon on the southern border of my farm and it gave me an English hat, plus one to share. I clicked on my avatar, clothing, accessories, and now my avatar is wearing an English hat. The person I shared it with, also now has the hat. It did offer to let me visit the England countyside, but I didn’t want to add a new app.
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 4:04 pm
I clicked it but apparently nothing happened. what this thing is supposed to do?? steal your passwords?? I’m worried……
((
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 4:04 pm
What I don’t understand is how FB hasn’t banned this app yet, for using the official FV logo and spelling the app name *exactly* as FarmVille does! This is how I got caught on it. I thought “Oh cool! They got the England thing out finally!” I am in and out so much I miss a lot of the “official” notices and only pick up on what’s new through the items on the newsfeed.
I am also suspecting that the evile (pronounced e – VILE!) person that perpetrated this cloned the farmville app name and logo, so perhaps if you try to block this fool thing, it will also block the *real* farmville? Just wondering…
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 4:05 pm
What next. We have always been able to trust the via Farmville. So now we can’t trust that. Are we expected to read every link to be sure we can click on it. Come on……there has to be a way for FV or Facebook to stop scam posts using via Farmville. If not, maybe it’s time to stop playing the game.
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 5:53 pm
Okay…….so there IS an England game coming, hence, the hats…..it’s just those particular postings we should avoid? Someone needs to clear it up.
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 6:22 pm
I thought the rule of thumb was Big F, Big V. .FarmVille you can trust…
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 7:44 pm
To clarify the england in gneral and the hat isn’t a scam. It is legit but this is a scam that gets info from you email phone number etc.
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 8:06 pm
Got this about a week ago. Recognized the scam right away.
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 8:45 pm
What’s the plural of ignoramus?
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 9:05 pm
here is how I got rid of the england bug….its a cheeky little bug it sets up shop in your add/remove programs, it calls itself Xvid, remove that then go and run Adaware, and that took it the rest of the way out.
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 9:10 pm
I forgot to add, be sure and update the Ad aware software before you run the program!
Posted on February 16th, 2011 at 11:12 pm
I knew it was a scam as soon as I saw it because I had FV blocked from my feed at the time. Everyone should block FV from their feed when they see something like that. Fake stuff willl show up and real stuff won’t. Then you can unblock it after seeing what’s what. Plain and simple.
Posted on February 17th, 2011 at 12:06 am
I never clicked this but a lot of my friends did… I got suspicious when i saw that “Click me” cause I think I have never seen a Farmville post saying “Click me” …..
Posted on February 17th, 2011 at 12:07 am
I realized it was a scam after I got into it, but I’m wondering how they can use the FarmVille name with the corn cob to make people think it’s really from FarmVille. It kind of ticked me off!
Posted on February 17th, 2011 at 12:14 am
This is what one looks like, and it doesn’t have ‘Farmville’ on it but “Be the first to visit England”

“@reincloud when you put your phone number in they are able to access stuff in your phone like minutes”
Seriously..?
People like you shouldn’t be on the internets…better go grab your tinfoil hat.

Posted on February 17th, 2011 at 6:10 pm
i saw this post last week i clicked but nothing no questions no like no nothing i said nothing due to it did not ask to like or share or to use my basic info
Posted on February 17th, 2011 at 8:39 pm
English isn’t the same as British. When Farmville got it all wrong the first time it was a mistake so it now makes for the perfect scam. Farmville -you asked for it! Sorry.
Posted on February 20th, 2011 at 12:13 pm
Hmmmm…. I have never seen any of these scams before. I guess my neighbours are smart…. LOL
Posted on March 27th, 2011 at 8:56 am
