Update 09/05/12: Zynga has fixed the glitch causing missing second Chicken Coops and their chicken and returned the items to your Gift Box.
UPDATE 09/01/12: Please be aware, there seem to be glitches going on again in FarmVille that are causing disappearing Chicken Coops (with the Chickens housed inside). Until these problems are worked out do not work on multiple Chicken Coops!!!
Remember all the trouble with having multiple Chicken Coops on your farm? Back in 2010 a glitch causing multiple Chicken Coops resulted in farmers having lots of Chicken Coops on a single farm. FarmVille laid down the law and put a 1 Chicken Coop per farm rule in place and confiscated any multiple coops. You can read about that here.
Well, it seems as though FarmVille has changed their mind and has decided on a new rule, allowing a second Chicken Coop on your farm. You are now able to have two Chicken Coops per FarmVille farm. One being the regular old Chicken Coop and the second one being the destination farm’s unique Chicken Coop.
Each Chicken Coop can be expanded to hold up to 100 Chickens per Chicken Coop.
We aren’t sure what brought on the changes, but we think that many farmers will appreciate the extra space to store their chickens and we know some of you veteran FarmVille Freaks are probably shaking your heads right now remembering the days when Zynga outlawed multiple coops.

Before giving us a second coop please change the prizes in the eggs first. They are stale.

Too many problems on the farm right now. Farmville experts need to fix
all of the existing issues before adding new things. Farm freezes constantly
having to reboot at least 23-30 times per day. Cannot travel to other farms.
Cannot gift. White screen keeps coming up and causes rebooting. Not too much fun to play when continuing problems exist. Spent over 2 hours placing trees in orchards only to have them NOT in the orchards when I went back to the farm
from the main feed. Hmmmmmm………technicians need to get busy and make us
farmers “happy farmers”. Love the game, but not like it is now. No more “new things” please until existing problems are fixed.

My coops are already expanded to 100 – are they going to lower the capacity of existing coops do you think, or is the capacity of 60 in the article an error?

A second coop is a great idea but they do need to fix the problems with the farms. Also new prizes would be better but the coop change they need to make first is that you get one of the eggs you find not just the ones you get from friends. When are they gonna bring back the dairys for the cows though?

I put a second one on my farm and my first, fully expanded and full of chickens coop vanished! Thanks >.<

To be fair, this isn’t a new thing. When the Chicken Coops were released, there was a glitch that would allow you to get a second coop, sometimes more. Farmers were thrilled. Zynga declared them illegal, and took everyone’s extra coops away, dumping the chickens into the then-tiny gift boxes, and causing some farmers to be… well, quite upset.

I did this last night. This morning…. my already expanded to 100 coop was gone. Crap load of chickens in the gift box and only the non-expanded coop was on my farm

just complained to zynga…beware
i placed a 2nd chicken coop (as you promoted) on my home farm, put in several chickens. now my original coop is gone and all (90+) chickens seem to back in my gift box. what’s going on. i don’t want to start all over with a new coop. please put original coop and chickens back on my farm.

Thank you for leaving the chics and returning the coop, but……..what about the 5 expantions that I either paid for or my friends gifted to me took a long time to get enough room for 100 chickens!!!!!!
