Taking a brief break from Valentine’s Day celebrations, FarmVille remembers that is is also Lunar New Year and commemorates the occasion by updating Mystery Game prizes. An all new Lunar New Year themed Mystery Game has hit the FarmVille Market. This Mystery Game will cost 16 Farm Cash and will be available until February 7th 2011 in the FarmVille Market.
Note, because the China Pagoda and New Year Rabbit were briefly in the FarmVille Market a few days ago, they are not in this Mystery Game. (See note on FarmVille Forum).

Only played once (so far!). Got the phoenix in the 3rd column, 3rd row (dead center) blue balloon.
The phoenix is a decoration and doesn’t produce anything for coins. I’m wondering if it’s the same for the chinese dragon and cardinal.

The dragon is in the middle blue balloon.
With each mystery balloon game that comes out, I always do a lot of research so I make sure I get the exact item I want.
There’s no guarantee you will pop the balloon that has the item you want in it, but so far I’ve done something right..

My board went like this
Bridge = 3rd Row, 3rd Column Blue (middle balloon)
Dragon = 3rd Row, 2nd Balloon Red (Left of Middle)
Phoenix = 5th Row, 5th Column Red (Bottom Right)

dragon is not that good as i thought ;( instead of throwing flames it’s just popping a red ball (may be zynga thought it as a flame) in and out….. i wish i had phoenix instead of this…

@Denise – The Cardinal is an old mystery box prize and does not yield coins. It’s just a decoration. (I have one though and I think it’s cute).
Would love the phoenix but not willing to chance it for 16fc when I don’t really like anything else. Got lucky in last mystery game and got the pink unicorn (which was all I was interested in) first try, so I don’t like my chances of a repeat of that. Good luck everyone who is playing though!

I love it how in the photo of that guys farm you can see he has 18 of those items so he tried 18 times & didn’t get the Dragon at all what a waste of FVC.
That happend to me last week with the Unicorn I tried 12 times & didn’t get it.
Zynga is the biggest scammers around, They should of put the dragon in the market place for 100 FVC at least this guy would of got what he wanted instead of getting multiple items he didn’t want.

My god you people are morons. The “not having flames but Zynga thought the fire was a ball”… Please, go do some research, or at least read one or two Chinese legends that are only a few sentences. It’s supposed to be the sun, and the dragon eats the sun… one of the most popular and well known Chinese legends/stories ever.
Also the Phoenix is both a Western AND Eastern animal. The Emperor had dragons on his outfits while the Empress had Phoenixes on hers. FYI, only the Emperor was allowed to have an outfit depicting a dragon with 5 talons. All other clothes had dragons with only 4 talons.
Also, FarmVille spelled Phoenix wrong (It’s spelled Pheonix in the game) which I find hysterical not only because the Phoenix is one of my favorite mythical creatures, but also because I live in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. Good job there, Zynga.
For those curious, I had the dragon in the first row, green balloon second from the very top left hand corner. There was a green balloon next to it, which had the Phoenix.

Got the Horse and carriage in the 3rd balloon, top row.
The horse and carriage is nice, but the bridge was a waste of farmcash..
I wish they would release the Pagoda to the market!! Have been waiting for it for days now!

so they replaced the bunny and pagoda – which THEY f’d up and “accidentally” released in the market for coins, with a stupid horse/cart and the freakin’ old cardinal?? that REALLY irks me >:(
oh, and I read it straight from a moderator on the official farmville forums that the pagoda and rabbit were “accidentally” released in the market, they were supposed to be in this mystery game, but they’ve decided to not release them at all (at least not at this time, maybe in a few weeks – is what the mod said) and replace the items in the mystery game. How irritating. The pagoda and rabbit were FAAARRR cooler than the horse/cart and cardinal.

Huh. Well, I already have at least one cardinal in storage… can’t remember where I’d gotten it from, but I think someone mentioned it was from a MB about a year ago, and that sounds about right. I really don’t want to risk wasting what little FC I have left on getting another one. The horse carriage isn’t impressive, either. I do like the other prizes, though, especially since they go with the other Asian stuff I’ve collected. Not sure they’re nice enough to risk it, though.
I’m gonna wait a few days and see if any new trees or animals pop up in the market first… I’d be really annoyed if I ended up paying 16 FC for another cardinal just to have something actually WORTH it pop up later and have no FC left.

I got the chinese dragon which I was surprised it’s not just a decoration but I also got a red pagoda which was a huge disappointment since it was a fairly inexpensive coin item.

Seems that they altered the mystery game to include the rabbit and pagoda, and removed them from the market. The lucky ones out there were on at the right time and bought them for coins. I got the rabbit but never saw the pagoda available for cash.
These boards are not random. For them to random with 25 spots, there would be 15,511,201,043,331,000,000,000,000 different combinations.
There used to be forums where you could determine which board you had based on what was in the middle and top left corner balloon. There would be around six different boards. It seems that they have expanded the number of different combinations to make it more difficult for players to exchange information and determine what is where. The last game, I did manage to find someone with the same board as me, and she helped me get the sheep and the mini.

It is not a Chinese dragon. Chinese dragons have 5 toes. This dragon is a Korean dragon, as it only has 4 toes.
Since Zynga can’t even get their software to work the first time they put a new feature into production, you can hardly expect them to get cultural references correct, either.

this is zynga’s milking cow!!!! it used to be so easy getting rare items…now, you have to spend more than $50 and get multiple items to even try to get a rare item.
I am very pissed because I didn’t get the pink unicorn last time after spending so much fv cash!

@76 most people take advantage of the join this get the fv cash and you don’t have to spend your money all you do is cancel the subscription before you are billed so don’t feel bad for them . they just figured out how to do it . and the ones who do pay cash probably have the extra to spend its no different then buying magazines or other things you don’t need but you want to read . play etc,.

I normally dont play unless there are a few things i wouldnt mind having and if the dart game is actually cheap ( but nothing about this game is cheap anymore ) but i used my free dart that i got from the best buy card and got exactly what i wanted on the first try! the dragon!!! The phoenix is kinda cool too but the only thing worth 16 FC is the dragon. for me he was in the second row from the bottom, yellow balloon, dead center.

I used my free dart and got the dragon right away! I had no idea he was animated and harvestable. He is also on the large side and has a gold ball in his mouth. Really well done. I thought he would be a decoration to go with the smaller versions that were on the market last spring. He is totally worth 16FV$! I would love to be able to get the Red Pagoda, but for now I’ll use the one I won in a co-op. Good luck everyone

Well, I guess my luck had to break some time! I got the same board as #55 etkata. I got the dragon, but had to keep going to get the phoenix!
I now have 4 horse and carriages, 4 cardinals * add those to the cardinal already in my cellar from a previous mystery game loss, 4 red bridges, and 2 lotus ponds. A bunch of expensive garbage I didn’t need cluttering up my storage! My only hope is that someday soon we will be able to give or sell them to other farmers!

Can someone who got the horse & carriage (no it doesn’t go into stable) in the dead center balloon help me out please? I am looking for dragon and/or phoenix. Here’s what I have so far:

I liked this game because the 3rd time really is the charm. I got the Horse and Carriage the first time, then the bridge and finally, from the red balloon on the third row on the left, I GOT THE DRAGON!!!!
