Hey Farmers, and welcome to this week’s installment of the Official FarmVille Podcast! My name is Lexilicious, and I am here to bring you all of the latest news and information about FarmVille from Zynga. This week, we will be discussing our latest releases, I will be giving you guys information on some of our new community events and everyone will be getting a sneak peek of things coming to FarmVille in the near future.
Now, The FarmVille team has seen some pretty creative farms popping up since the release of our Limited Edition Winter Holiday items, and we figure it’s only fair that the jolliest Farms get the recognition they deserve.
That’s right folks, it’s time for you to show us your decorating skills once again. This holiday season we want to see your farms at their merriest! Submit photos of your winter themed farms from Dec. 16th – Dec. 31st for a chance to win 500 Farm Cash and 500,000 coins in our Winter Holiday Decorating Contest! If you are interested in participating in this event, please make sure to visit the FarmVille Forums for more details.
And in addition to our winter holiday decorating contest, we have another special event coming your way in the very near future. Soon, we will be launching our very first FarmVille themed Winter Holiday Greeting Card contest! Do you like to draw? Consider yourself an artist with Microsoft Paint or Photoshop? Can you create witty, FarmVille themed puns? If so, this contest is for you. Like our baking contest, creating a winning greeting card will earn you 1000 Farm Cash, 1,000,000 Coins and any limited edition FarmVille item of your choice, so make sure to keep an eye out for this new contest in the coming weeks.
Last Friday, we released the new Holiday Tree, which allows you to collect gifts from your friends and redeem them for special prizes. Keeping with the spirit of the Holidays, you can also give presents to your friends that they can open on December 25th.
The Holiday Tree works like many of our other item-gathering style events in FarmVille. You acquire Holiday Gifts through various methods, then “Use” them to put them underneath your Holiday Tree. As you accumulate Holiday Gifts under your Tree you can redeem them for exclusive prizes like the “Frozen Fence” or “Snow Stallion”. Given that this feature has been out for about a week now, we know that a lot of players have already accumulated a large number of gifts under their tree. Because of this, we released six new redeemable items for the holiday tree on Wednesday. Keep on Collecting and redeeming gifts from your Neighbors to get the new Sneezy Sheep, Ice House, Kodiak Cub, Frozen Fantasy, Arctic Fox and the Tinsel Tree. You will also find a very special present from Zynga in your Tree that can be opened on the 25th of December with the other gifts given to you by your Neighbors.
Now, winter is well and truly here, and what better way to make use of this special time of the year by engaging in snowball fights and building snowmen?
We all know that a snowball fight isn’t much fun by yourself. To participate in this feature, you’ll need to get your neighbors involved. You can start the fight simply by visiting your neighbor’s farm. You’ll see a pop-up window asking if you want to throw a snowball at them. To do this, simply click on the “Share” button. You’ll be prompted to post a snowball fight notice to their feed. You’ll see an on-screen animation of a snowball hitting them… or does it? There is a chance you could miss your neighbor and hit someone else by accident.
Whenever someone gets hit, they have the option to throw a snowball back by clicking on the “Retaliate” button on the feed post. You can throw one snowball per neighbor per day.
But that’s not all! If you get hit by a snowball and retaliate, you’ll get a Pile of Snow in return.
You can use this pile of show to build a Snowman. You’ll get the initial frame for the Snowman for free the first time you play FarmVille after the update, where you will immediately be entered into Placement Mode. You can place the Snowman on your farm now, or you can choose to place it in your Gift Box for use later.
The Snowman is not level locked, so any level player can use it. The Snowman is essentially a three-tier constructible building, but you won’t use regular building parts for it. You will need special Winter-themed items for this event. Click on the Snowman frame and then select “Look Inside” to see what you’ll need.
You can acquire these parts from your Neighbors, snow piles and Farm Cash.
Once a day you’ll also be able to harvest the Snowman for Watering Cans. The higher the tier, the more Watering Cans you can get out of it.
Both the Snowball Fight and the Snowman events end on January 13. After that date players will not be able to throw snowballs, or add parts to their Snowman. You will be able to store your Snowman at that time.
The past few weeks were also filled with great new Limited Edition Winter Holiday items that all of our players have seemed to enjoy. Your original favorites from this theme have made another appearance along with some great new items to add to your collection like the Polar Bear Cave, Partridge and the Winter Manor. Winter Holiday items can now be found in the Marketplace for a limited time only, so make sure to grab some before they disappear.
Alright! And on that note, let’s go ahead and get into the coming soon segment of this week’s podcast. So we have a lot to talk about this week, but first up is something that should make our pig lover’s quite happy. Pig Pen Expansion will be coming soon and this extra space will allow you to hunt for more truffles, accumulate more slop and store up to 40 pigs.
The New Year’s Ball Drop feature will also make an appearance soon, which will give you the ability to invite your neighbors to your New Year’s party. The more Neighbors who attend your party, the better rewards you will get. Some of the rewards you can look forward to are a new crop, a new pony and some new clothes for your avatar.
And lastly, we have the Winter Countdown that will start sometime after December 25th. Everyday you log in, you will have a chance to ask for and give an item from our old Winter Holiday theme to your Neighbors. Each day will be a new item, and if you manage to collect all 12 of them, you will unlock a very special new animal.
Now before I get out of here, I want to give you guys a quick update on when the 28×28 expansion will be available for coins. Currently, we are looking at releasing this feature sometime after the new year, so please hang tight and we will have this for you as soon as we can.

I just wish Farmville would stop updating for a month though. Its time they stopped changing things every single week because one week farm is fine, then they update and it takes days sometimes up to a week to fix the changes but then they release more. Crazy i tell ya.

May have to throw trees in the pigpen because I have no more room for any. Would have been great to have the coin expansion in order to put all my Christmas things out. Have some major rearranging to do and won’t do it until I get more space.

Anyone else have Goji Berries in their seed market? Mine says locked and when I hover over it “A license is needed”. They don’t talk of this in podcast. Has anyone heard what’s up with these?

is anyone having trouble sending just regular items in the market to neighbors? i’m trying to send the stockings arch to a friend but it doesnt come up with the popup to post to their wall and it doesnt take away any money, and they never get it.

Yes to the person who posted the question ” Is anyone having problems taking the nightmare horse out of the stable”, Yes I have that same problem on 3 farms that I do, no wonder they call it a “Nightmare Horse” it is a nightmare, each time I take it out of the stable my farm goes “OUT OF SYNC”.
My Question is, has anyone had problems gifting people the special gifts from the holiday tree. On my farm I wanted to gift my friend the snow stallion, but when I redeemed 500 gifts, up came a box that showed Zero friends to gift to. The same on another farm I do, just tonight I redeemed the said amount of gifts to get the Kodiak Cub, and send to 2 other people, same again, up came a blank box which said Nil friends to send to. It really isn’t fair when things like this are not working, it took me a week to save up 500 gifts for the snow stallion. The podcast doesn’t say how long we can collect the gifts after the 25th of Dec. Only I would like to think I could save enough to be able to get all the items.
The promise of Land Expansion, I wish they would be more specific, and tell us exactly when, like the first week in January, February or what>

What we I think personally we need on farmville. Is to be able to buy more than one horse barn, pig pen, nursery, chicken coop, and turkey roost. It’s not right that we can own more than one dairy barn. So why can’t we own more than one of the others? Because I am at 100 chickens in the coop. And I still have a lot of chickens standing outside. Same goes with horses, pigs, turkeys, and babies.
Another subject related to what I was just talking about. What about goats, sheep, llamas, bunny’s, and all the other animals I might have missed. They need a home too. I think the makers should quit worring about decorations for awhile. And make more homes for the animals. And stuff that will help us out. Not just decorate yea its nice. But we also need to make coins to be able to buy that stuff.

my pig pen is useless for me..out of 20 pigs ,i found 7 or 8 truffle .But only 1 or 2 neighbor that active,and they not even sharing back the truffle…

Chris CLucas, you are not alone. I am having trouble sharing winter gifts. When I redeem a Winter Whimsy, I am asked if I would like to send them to 5 neighbors, then a popup devoid of all my friends asks me to pick 0 neighbors to receive the gifts. =( I really want some Stallions to show up in those boxes so I can get some good foals, but I cant send them out!

Finally another place to get watering cans. My neighbors have got to be sick of my constant begging for them.
Nightmare is a nightmare for me too. I’ve just left him in the stable, no other choice, but it doesn’t seem to affect breeding the others.
I don’t even bother with the pigs, they just hunt for truffles on inactive farms. I only use them to use up some random bushels. Won’t bother with the expansion. Would much rather see a miscellaneous barn for all the random animals I have wandering about, or a sheep barn.
ENOUGH with the decorations and build-ables for a while. I too think they should dial back the changes and focus on fixing the problems.

FV is taking up so much of my free time now…the snowman building, the gifts, fertilizing and snowballing neighbors, horse breeding, and then finally my own crops- I just don’t want to spend over an hour on farmville at a time and that’s what’s happening now. I don’t really like all the new things -along with their problems- at once.

I don’t think I’ll complete a snowman either. I can only ask for items from 3 people and two of them are no longer doing Farmville. Funny how we are given the option of getting snowman items from the least active people. And why doesn’t it ever change? If those people never give us those items, will it not give us new people to ask for these items from? This sucks!

I’ve completed the snowman, he does the Macarena. He’s cute.
I don’t hunt truffles any more. All you can get for your truffles is more pigs and I have too many pigs already. A pig pen expansion would be great so I have somewhere to put them all.
I’m having trouble with the gifts too. I also am given the option of giving gifts to zero friends. Bummer. I finally got a snow stallion and couldn’t gift him to my friend.

@ # 34 you can build another snowman. he is in the market for $5,000 coins. you can have as many as you want but can only build 1 at a time. I have 3 now.

The Winter Countdown just came out and guess what it does not work either!!!!!!!!!!!!Why can’t you make sure it works before you stat the new stuff??? Just like the Party Barn if the people you are asking to RSVP you are not on line then they will not see your post—–I feel you should have let the request be sent to the gift request in the inbox so people could have saw them . just does not make any sense the way you are doing the new stuff harder and harder to get any of them done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
