FarmVille Duck Pond Expansion Being Rolled Out!

You may remember a few days ago, some farmers got access to the feature of expanding Duck Ponds. This new feature was having many issues in the beginning, and could not be accessed by some farmers at all!
However, it seems as though this feature is now live this evening, and surely making its way to all farmers! Please note that this feature may still experience a few bugs here & there, but FarmVille Freak has a basic guide the expanding your Duck Ponds!

Farmers should see the pop-up shown above, letting them know that they can now expand their FarmVille Duck Ponds!
FarmVille Duck Pond Expansion Started
Once you start your Duck Pond expansion, you will be able to share a notice with your neighbors, asking them to send you the necessary items in order to expand your Duck Pond.
With the help of Shovels and Watering Cans, you will be able to increase the capacity of your Duck Pond by a significant number!
Expanding your Duck Pond can be done in two stages:
- Stage 1 – Add 20 Shovels & 20 Watering Cans (increases capacity to 30 Ducks)
- Stage 2 – Add 20 Shovels & 20 Watering Cans (increases capacity to 40 Ducks)
FarmVille Duck Pond Expansion Notice
Before the expansion, your Duck Pond will be able to hold 20 ducks, but upon completing the expansion, the FarmVille Duck Pond will house up to 40 ducks at once! Finally, farmers will have enough room to place their beautiful ducks, swans & even adorable little ducklings!
Once again, please note that the Duck Pond Expansion feature is being rolled out slowly to farmers and may still be experiencing some troubles & glitches.

Completed my expansion to 30 then started on expanding to 40–everything I put in after 30 disappeared but I have a 2nd pond on my farm. Still some bugs to be worked out!

Of all the things you had to put up for an expansion, Zynga, you chose a DUCK POND?!?!??… I DON’T EVEN HAVE MANY DUCKS… WHAT NEEDS EXPANSION IS MY ENTIRE FARM… MAKE THE REQUIREMENTS LESS STRICT FOR GODS SAKE!!!

I fully expanded mine last week and it only took shovels and did nothing. It still only held 20 ducks. I guess now I have to do it again??

I got a new pond to start all over again. I have about 30 ducks. I really need to expand my current pond, not start all over again .

when i click on look inside i don’t have a tab to expand. do i need all 40 items before it’ll appear?

Well, I got mine too, and fully upgraded it. I put all of my ducks in but now I can’t look inside. It’s not a big deal but a little bit of a bummer.

We came across the glitch of upgrading our duck pond last week..We had shovels and clicked to use them and a pop up came out and said “Use shovels for storage cellar or duck pond” We had already built our duck ponds to the fullest 20 ducks, but it let us go all the way to 40 duck upgrade with shovels and watering cans…We used our special deliveries to build them too..

I’ve gotten the expansion, and when completed, I also found a SECOND duck pond in my gift box, and was able to build that one also. Now I have TWO duck ponds! Is this a glitch? will they take my second one away? I hope not, after doing the work to complete it.

I’m glad I read about this because after expanding my duck pond, I got ANOTHER pond. I’m not going to freak since you said there were still some glitches….lol, yes there are some glitches!! Good ol’ Farmville!!

I got the second duckpond also, Im not complaining. If this is a glitch, i hope its one they don’t fix. I can now upgrade my duckponds at leisure which is nice. no need to rush. Too bad it doesn’t use traditional building materials though. I have a bumper crop (no pun intended) of the wood, brick and nails.

dang it – I don’t want to expand my pond. stop forcing it on me with the “get started” window when I sign into farmville.
does anyone know how to get around that “get started” window???

If you place the new pond, when you attempt to put shovels & watering cans into your pond, it gives you the option of which pond to put them in. I actually now have both ponds fully upgraded.

I also place it in my farm, if I sell it I am afraid now that I might lose my other pond. Zynga why you do not even test your own product, it will be your downfall someday.

I also got the second duck pond in my gift box after I upgraded my first pond. I am able to look inside my first pond, unlike some of you all. Waiting on building my second pond, just in case they take it away.

Glad this is out finally. I actually upgraded my pond to 30 capacity the LAST time they rolled this out before asking us to wait. I had intended to use special deliveries for orchards, but because zynga had released, or partially release, or whatever, duck pon upgrades the previous time, i was somehow able to expand from 20 to 30. I hope when i expand THIS time… i go directly to 40, and there isn’t some bug that makes me waste resources on another upgrade to 30.
We’ll see… i don’t put ANYTHING past zynga anymore… they are always finding new ways to make their games buggy.

What is the point of the second pond? I’m not even fond of my first one. I think it’s ugly and lame. Don’t think I will waste the time to upgrade second one.

Everyone should max out both ponds. And hopefully they take one back from us. When the nursery barn came out with two, I maxed both out on expansions, then they took one shortly thereafter(week or so). But they reimbursed me with 120 fv cash. One fv for every part I put into it. Hopefully the same thing will happen here. wishful thinking.

I ended up with a second duck pond! Not sure that was supposed to happen, but I have way too many seedlings to grow before I use the water cans on the second duck pond.

I also got another pound to build but hopefully the one i have will expand to 40 n not make us build another one just to put 20 more ducks in i dont have space on my farm for another duck pond…………………

Once I finished upgrading my pond to the full 40 ducks…I can’t get into it anymore. If you try to get in the pond, you are no longer able to get into your gift box either.

I got a 2nd pond too, and the original is working fine. I’ve got several friends too that had the same thing happen with the 2nd pond. I like the pond, but I don’t have a TON of ducks and swans to put in it. Would be nice if the geese could go there too!

I never really got into this duck pond thing in the first place. Not sure why. Just doesn’t excite me. Now, if we could cross-breed horses, ponies and minis, I think that would be cool.

well I did expand my pond… I got the 2nd pond in my gift box and placed it on my farm… should of never done that…. errr… it ends up making my farm go out of sync… it doesn’t say so but it just freezes up…had to refresh but that didn’t help so ended up trying a different browser and farm seems to work but I didn’t go near the duck pond… so don’t know what will happen if I touch the duck pond. Farmville needs fixed!!!!!

I also like much of you have a 2nd duck pond in my gift box. I have no idea. I also agree that there are other things that need to be a priority other than the duck pond.

I also received the SECOND duck pond. It seems though, I cannot upgrade my original duck pond; I can only add stuff to my NEW duck pond. Hmmmm…. Also, Special Delivery boxes are only limiting me to 8 watering cans at a time. I guess it seems to think that orchards have more priority than duck pond(s). Hmmmm….

I also received a second Duck Pond. I’m going to go ahead and upgrade it, even though I have no desire to keep it. The Buildings page still says Limit 1, so I kind of hope they take it away. When they took my second nursery I got 200 FC! So yes please, I’d take 120 FC and they can have it back

Wow, I sure am glad I came here before ultimately deciding what to do concerning the second pond. I intend to leave well enough alone. I’ll sell the second pond and keep 20 ducks in the first. I have no desire to run into some of the issues posted here.
It’s cool reaping the benefits of this botched roll out, though. Watering cans and shovels are flying all over the place! My neighbors are bombarding me with cans that I need desperately for seedlings. Cans that I haven’t had to pull out of the feed and therefore going against my precious 200 daily item limit. Think I’ll just sit back and collect cans, returning them, of course.
I’m really over ducks and ponds anyway.

I’m glad they expanded the Duck Pond, but what I really wish they’d allow us to expand is the Stable and Nursery. I have about 1 of all the rare horses in mine and I have room for 2 more that’s it. And my Nursery, if it’s for both foals and calves then we should be able to expand it to 80. I have so many calves and the Nursery doesn’t grow up the babies fast enough.

The first time it was rolled out was a disaster for me…..but they were REALLY quick to fix and return what i’d lost…….this time it went without a hitch for all three I have AND they gave me a free one.VERY nice !

If you look below the first picture you should see, “When you get this message, you’ll get a second Duck Pond frame in your Gift Box when you refresh the game. Yes, you can put it on your farm and build it out. It should be okay. Really!”

I have fully expanded my original pond and also received an additional pond in my gift box which I have now placed on my farm and commenced construction. I figured there was a good chance that it was a glitch, so I only hope that if they do decide to take it away, as they did my extra chicken coups, then they will leave behind in my gift box all the items I have used to expand thus far.
Whilst others don’t see any point in the expansion, I’m always happy to have more room for my ever expanding animal collection. I say keep up the expansions of all animal housing…..cows, chickens, pigs, horses, foals, etc……I would also like somewhere to put my elephants who are taking up way too much room at the present time.

Who needs another duck pond? Not me I have nowhere to put it. I still don’t have anywhere to put the 100 foals and calfs in my GB. I need a 30×30 then 32×32 and so on. Don’t earn enough from harvesting ducks. Need more room in my chicken coop have lots of those in my GB also.

My sheep need a barn. After the expansion, I deleted about one-third of them.
The duck pond is wasted space. At least now it takes up less squares than the ducks themselves would.
I have errors when I try to ask friends to raise ducklings, so really, what is the use?

I got a new duck pond plus could expand my old one. But I think I will expand the old one again and then “sell” the new one, probably for 0 coins though. I also have errors when I ask friends to help with the ducklings so I just don’t bother. The little brown ducklings sell for 1000 coins, so bye-bye.
I get plenty of watering cans and if I need more for any reason, I use the Special Delivery boxes.

I agree with the person who said that it’s ridiculous to force us to expand something. We should be given the choice b/c now I can’t use my delivery boxes to get mats for the leprechaun house that I need to finish before they cancel that like they did the valentine castle. Every time I open a delivery box it gives me stupid shovels for the pond rather than the boards and bricks I need. And I shouldn’t have to use watering cans for this lame expansion when I need them for my seedlings!! They need to go back to giving us the option to expand if we want.

Farmville made me buy another duck pond and then offered to expand my original one. Now I have TWO in progress, but I can’t delete the second one in the building process without losing all of the materials. WTH?
