FarmVille Farm “Too Full” Notice Begs for Storage System Upgrade

Some of the most frequent FarmVille requests by farmers are for more Expansion and more Storage.
Contributing to this urgent request is that Zynga releases FarmVille updates weekly. FarmVille’s weekly updates usually offer a slew of brand new exclusive items as well as seasonal collections. Despite expansions, those of us farmers that have been playing for almost one year now are quickly running out of room on their farms. Although a storage system was introduced months ago, many farmers do not find it adequate or economical for storing all of their FarmVille decorations and seasonal supplies. The problem being that storage costs farm cash or coins and neighbor help and each storage building is limited to a certain capacity. Also, some items such animals, trees, Christmas Holiday Tree, Valentine Mail Box and Spring Basket cannot be stored.
Adding to the frustration of the current Storage system, is a new FarmVille pop-up notice appearing for some farmers with over-crowded farms. See image below.

The notice states that you will have to either “Remove” (sounds nicer than delete) or “Store” some of your items to place more new items on your farm. Removing or storing old items is the only solution? How about implementing a better storage system so that some farmers would not feel the need to hold on to exclusive items or seasonal decorations and display them on their farms because they have no room in storage.
I myself am a fan of Zynga’s Cafe World’s unlimited storage system. In Cafe World once you purchase an item with coins or cafe cash you always have the ability to either store it for free or display it in your cafe. Why not do something similar to this for FarmVille? If FarmVille continues to come out with new items and farmers continue to accumulate more and more items, Zynga will have to eventually upgrade their current FarmVille storage system if they expect farmers to continue purchasing exclusive items.

that’s ridiculous! i can’t believe they are putting up those alert messages. they should offer expansions or at least give us way more storage space! or else don’t expect us to buy the weekly updated gifts!

Wow, ridiculous! I’m curious to see exactly how ‘full’ these farms are that are getting the message. It’s true we need more storage desperately. I won’t buy anything else because I have no room for it!
Land expansion would be nice, but it’s always such a tiny space that it’s really not even worth it.
It would be nice to see more storage available to buy for coins, I’d easily give away my millions I have nothing else to do with, but I’m to the point where I’d also be willing to pay cash for more storage, it’s needed so badly. It’s not like they’re getting my cash by introducing new things every week, because I have no where to put it! So it’d be smart to give us storage for all the new items and everyone will continue to buy!

I think that notice will be upsetting to many. People have it on their farm because it is what they want. It might bite farmville back, if people who pay FV money for many items no longer can put them on their farm. They need larger storage, especially if we accumulate more and more seasonal items.

They can’t just give unlimited expansion because it will hurt their servers as the size of each farm rises.

Here’s an idea for everyone to improve “gaming” now it’s a bit radical, but if you want to see REAL improvements made i.e. more land, buildings for animals, more storage STOP THROWING MONEY AT THEM FOR EVERY PIECE OF USELESS JUNK THEY RELEASE!!! Game play will improve REAL FAST but if they can suck money out of people for very little effort they will keep doing it!

I have 100/100 items in storage and a packed full farm.. I hope farmville doesn’t make us delete items. I vote for allowing a second farm or expanded storage/space. I know with more items, it’s harder to run graphically.. but this is why they should also allow expansion to unlimited (or at least 100) for horse barns, nursery, and especially the chicken coop. If they give us that many animals they need to back it up with efficient ways to keep them all!

We definitely need more “storage”. How can they possibly expect us to keep on buying when they won’t let us keep what we buy Do they really expect us to throw our treasures away? As it is, I don’t buy things that can be gifted to me, and when I get them, I will sell them rather than I store them because I need the room for the other thnigs. I bought every shed they had and two barns, only to find out that it didn’t matter how much I upgraded them all, I would still only be able to store 100 items. Well — I promptly sold most of the sheds. Why keep sheds that are taking up space on my farm for no good reason whatsoever. I would have willingly kept them if I could have used the space that Farmville promised (with fingers crossed behind their backs) that I was getting.

expension…EXPENSION… that’s all I want right now I’m passing on to much nice stuff and won’t compromised my 420 plow and as for more storage what good would it do for me ? I enjoy having a nicely decorated farm ^^ … storing them won’t work for me please need expension fast

@Michelle – Oh no! You’re right! They did change tall grass and it’s not cute anymore at all. I used to use it around my ponds, but I think I might have to delete them. Maybe I’ll store them for a while and hope they change it back.

Yea right… if they decided to give away free storage space, all of you would just start to complain about how you “worked so hard” for your storage, and how the “evil newbies” are getting everything handed to them on a silver platter.

If ever I start deleting all those things I bought with FV cash will also be the time I’ll be saying good bye to Farmville, no matter how difficult that may be for me to do so. I paid good money for those items, and I don’t want to ‘delete’ any of them. I hope that they address the ’storage’ issue as soon as they can since they introduce new items just as quick that farmville freaks such as I am no longer have any more space left for both decorations and farming.

Meanwhile we wait for the promised expansions of the dairy, stable, and flower shed.
It would be nice to expand barn/shed storage to something greater than the current 100 items. I don’t see that as demanding too much of their servers as these are just tables of data.

UNLIMITED STORAGE, is the answer. People will still buy barns because they are pretty. They could have an option where we could expand to unlimited storage or buy unlimited storage for a few FV dollars. We also need another farm expansion too.

What happened to expanding the garden shed? Now they want us to put this huge nursery on our farms without giving us the option to expand or buy a second or third farm? On top of that they are decreasing the size of all of our items; like we are not going to notice?

I do agree with this post .
I mean why we have a limited storage capacity ?
and why we have limited 30 items in the gift capacity ?
I am a big fan of all Zynga games , but the most is farmville .
i do have a lot of things from FV Cash , and i already ran out of storage space , plus my farm is packed .
I have no room to decorate , and if i want to decorate i will not have room to plow and plant .
so what i have to do ? as im not going to sell or delete my FV Cash items .
i wish that Zynga might consider unlimited storage at least , i mean that would help a lot , but without that ridiculous friend must help idea .

why not just let us expand our farms. if you keep adding items to put on our farm, and need coins to buy them, we still need room to actually FARM. instead of expanding storage, which would take up more room, EXPAND FARMS.

Most of us have been out of room on our farms for months now, I have been OUT OF ROOM for months now, and I am to the max of storage, I have used all 100 , I have had to put things in storage to make room to plant for CO-OPS.
How do most of us have the room, to even think about adding another building, such as this nursery for the foals and calves ?????????????????

Ever since they introduced the new nursery barn, I hae been unable to download the game. Anyone else having problems? As for the special items, I see some of you complaining about how we shouldn’t buy them. We all have the right to fix up our farms how we like to. If you don’t want the special items, just stay away.

By the way, Zynga is making millions a year on this game. They can afford to update the servers. Farmtown lets you buy other farms. If they can do it, Farmville can do it.

I immediately noticed the tall grass change and it is so ugly. I did not get all of mine gifted to me…I actually bought many of them in market to accent certain areas and it looked so good before. Now the grass is HIDEOUS. I would not have bought the extra grass if it looked then how it doees now! It makes me think they did this on purpose, knowing we would hate it and thus sell it. It’s a no brainer that the bigger your farm/plantation and the more things on it, the longer is going to take to load.
I can’t remember where I saw it (sorry!), but there is a maximum number of “things” that can be on a farm (including plots, animals, trees, items in storage, and every little flower bunch, fence and EVERYTHING) and that maximum number is 6,000 things. When it starts to reach near that magic number–whatever it will be (not sure if it is actually 6,000–it could be less, it starts to cause havoc on the servers (loading issues?) and takes longer for players to load.
Let’s face it, some farms need some housecleaning! I have seen some FUGLY farms that have a little bit of everything and a whole lot of too much everything! I have seen some farms and thought, if that were a real farm I would wonder if it were a meth lab, because it is so messy and junky looking!
Once you have won the blue ribbon for Packrat, it is time to get rid of some useless decorations!
And holiday decorations are just that–HOLIDAY decorations! The farms with decorations still out from EVERY holiday look awful! I’m looking forward to faster loading farms, and that will come from pack rats and hoarders getting rid of things.
I’ve already started selling off trees and decorations, etc. that I received as gifts, mainly to make more plots, and I like to keep things fresh and change things up, so I’m not afraid to sell stuff. I don’t really understand the hoarders!
I am going to miss decorating with flower bunches though. Why bother if they just wither after two weeks and you don’t know how bad they look until it’s too late! I can’t imagine that the garden shed, stable or dairy barns will ever really be expandable, even though it has said “coming soon” for months.
And as for bigger farms, ha! I cannot imagine that ever either. Looks like they have created a monster and now must try to tame the beast!

They should do it the way Farn Town does. You get so much for each neighbor. I have over 200 storage on FT which really helps. I have had to sell items because tehre is no place to keep them.

Lack of storage is one of my pet peeves with FarmVille. Even Farm Town has a much higher level of storage for items. I also like the unlimited storage that Cafe World has. Working to increase storage on FarmVille is just too difficult!

More expansion and more storage!! My farm is full! I hate having to pass up lots of the new goodies FV keeps putting out.
We also need more capacity in the gift box, since that seems to be the only way to store puppy kibble, farmhands, and arborists.

I just read about the unlimited storage or new expansion….I have to say that both are very appreciated. Farmville have been launching many new items, beautiful by the way but some are extremely large…why? The new nursery is HUGE …WHY THAT? I think Farmville designers are not visiting our farmers frequently to see the struggle they are causing…I am upset….Thank you

I think that this is a terrible idea!!!! I realize that us hoarders may jam up the system, cause slow loading and all of that BUT the things that I have in storage were paid for with fv$ (yes I have a problem and I will be the first to admit it…lol) I don’t want to be forced to sell stuff that I paid for or get rid of things on my farm that I love or not be able to buy new items that come out. A few things that they could do…for one non-active players should not be rewarded, they should be deleted…they take up space and don’t even play!!! They should also stop coming out with so many new things all at once…the past couple of weeks we have seen a lot of new stuff….don’t get me wrong, I love new stuff and I come to farmville freak everytime something new comes out so I can see it before I buy it, but it seems to me that everytime something new comes out something else gets screwed up:( I also think that they should stop coming out with new games and get the games fixed that they have out already!! I love farmville, but if they make me start selling things that I have bought it won’t take me long to stop playing or stop buying…either way Zynga will loose!!!!

Doris and Grace, I’ve been trying to get to my farm since about 10 this morning (eastern time) and except for a short time around 11:45, I haven’t been able to get the game to load at all. I see all my friends starting their nursery barns, and don’t know how they’re getting on and I’m not… grr.

EVERY building- from Sheds to Villas- should have some storage capacity! The bigger the building, the more storage available. If that were the case, i would be able to store just about all of my seasonal items that i really don’t want to “remove”. I love FV but when it comes to storage, Zynga is waaaaayyyy too stingey!!

I have no room left in storage and have sold any item I can buy with coins or receive as gifts in order to plant more for the Co-ops. I want a larger farm as well as more storage. I have stored only limited edition or FV $ items. It is causing great frustration and causing me to loose interest in FV plus I am at Level 70 with no where to go!!!

GRACE AND EMILIE S SAVS:We seem to be having the same problem. It’s started when they released the nursery. Most seem to be able to log onto the game, but there are a number that can not. I was able to get on just a couple of times in the last 26 hours. Most of my atempts have been in vain. I’ve contacted Zynga, so far they have not been able to help. I will contact them again, and you should also. I am going to give them this link and your posting names. They need to know there is a problem. They should fix their problems before coming out with more stuff.

It is really offensive to treat clients this way, they should really think about correcting this problem. I had to deleted some of my prefered items because of lack of space.

Haven’t been able to load my farm for three days! Zynga was contacted and sent a huge list of computer tasks to take care of and then report back to them. Took 4 hours to do everything they advised and still can’t load so sent them a reply leeting them know it was on their end. I have over 80 gift requests, my gift box is full and my dog ran away. When will it ever end??? I’ve spent a lot of money for limited items and still have a lot FV cash. Think they will credit my card if I don’t get back on???
I do have a lot on my farm and would have gotten rid of some of it if given the choice just to be able to load and play. Anyone else unable to load?

John and a “few” others… I agree about the hoarding. People…watch the TLC show “Hoarding: Buried Alive” That is what your farms look like. Everything in a row…after row after row! What is this? Christmas was over months ago and by the time next Christmas comes they will have new stuff anyways…SELL the crap! “My” farm looks like a REAL farm. I have earned all my ribbons and clean and switch things up monthly. Yes expansions would be great BUT… I play with what I have and I am not one of those players that slam Zynga ALL the time. I see it daily and to tell you the truth…PEOPLE…be adults…have fun and quit complaining! If I ever quit playing…it won’t be Zyngas fault it will be cry baby complainers like you and “some” of my neighbors. I enjoy what I do on my farm… I don’t “Expect” miracles I believe Zynga is doing a great job and always look forward to see the new stuff they have come up with. It does not mean I have to buy it! This is a “cyber” farm and Zynga can’t “please” everyone. Oh… I bought about 50 bunches of grass today and put it around my ponds and in my flower gardens and it looks GREAT! Don’t like it DON’T buy it! In fact this will be my last posting… Negativity is not welcome in my life! Happy farming grumps!

If they are not going to let us expand the chicken coop to more than 60 chickens, they they need to stop putting so many chickens in the Mystery Eggs! I do agree with what some have said about some farms being too cluttered. However, my farm is not. I don’t keep a bunch of junk around and only place things I really like. Yet it still takes forever for my farm to load!!! I’d like to see storage for different kinds of animals.
I think they need to upgrade their servers. I think they also need to space out the introduction of new things. They introduced the Tuscan Wedding, Wild Mustang, and Farm Stand in the same week and crashed their servers.
Theoretically, you CAN have more than one farm–you just have to use a different name. I know people who have two farms because they have two accounts under different names. I’ve thought about it–but I have my own farm to deal with, plus my two daughters–who have farms, but don’t own computers!!!! They’re always calling me asking me to tend their crops or feed their dog…..I don’t have time for another farm!!!
