Today in limited fashion, Crafting Cottages were released (not all players have access yet). FarmVille Freak Farmb0y was lucky enough to have access and already built his Spa Crafting Cottage.

It appears that Crafting Cottages will work on a star system much like crops and storage. You will have the option to upgrade for coins OR $FV. For the Spa it looks like as you upgrade your building you will have access to more tables which will allow you to make more goods.

@thorsten – how about a torso? hahaha. I am still saving to get the last fan sheep for my collection!! I spent all my coins getting the 26×26 upgrade, and all the high level animals! has anyone figured out which crop is the fastest money grabber? i need to replenish my coins!

so it will take 3×1 of plots to use? wow would look better if was the size of a villa, spose they made it smaller so we dont complain ( ITS TOO BIG, NO ROOM , EXPANSION PLEASE, NO CROP SPACE, PACKED FARM…. ETC) hahaha

3 x 1 plots? more like 3×3 or 3/4. Either way, the cottage stuff is in my Farmer’s Market, but, I can’t build/do anything yet… I wasn’t a “chosen one.”

The scale is ridiculously off.
This is one thing I’d rather was on the larger size. Buildings with purpose – make em scaled right. Houses and stuff, make ‘em smallish.

Mine has never worked.. same with the wedding thing too. I never was abel to use that.. You get alot of coins with rye.. 20 hours.. and the organice blue berrys you pay 20 but get 80.. but really you are getting 60 back so thats cool

i got mine just now and even if you signed up earlier you get to choose them again if you want a different one. after you choose the one you want.. they out it in your gift box… i dont know how to use it though…

I don’t have any organic blueberries, gemstone collection or crafting buildings!!! If zynga wants the players to be addicted to farmville then zynga have to resolve this HUGE PROBLEMS that have invaded the whole world in farmville!!!!!

One of my neighbours has a bakery. I managed to get a loaf of pumpkin bread or whatever and all it gave me was a little bit of fuel. So far I’m very disappointed
They made it sound so new and cool and it turned out to be just another way to make 1/5 can of fuel every few days…

weather the prize of using my crafting cottage is gonna be amazing or not; i think it’s gonna be cool actually making something with the things i grow. i know i personally thought they were going to be bigger. don’t have one myself, but i saw the above picture. no one posted it, but i was wondering . . to those of you who have the ability to get your C.C. where was it in the market place? that way i know where i’ll need to check.

INFO ABOUT THE BUILDINGS:
You can choose another building than the one you chose before.
The first one is free, second building costs 80fvc at the moment.
You can only have 1 of each building type.
Recipes for bakery :
Available for 1star building:
Pumpkin Bread – 4 Pumpkin and 4 Wheat Bushels
Strawberry Shortcake- 4 Strawberry and 4 Wheat Bushels
Spicy Muffins – 3 Carrots, 1 Peppers, and 3 Ghost Chili Bushels
Available for 2star building:
Pattypan Tart – 3 Pattypan Squash, 2 Onion, and 3 Rice
Triple Berry Pie – 3 Blueberry, 2 Blackberry and 3 Raspberry
Peanut Butter Cookie – 2 Peanut, 3 Rice and 3 Sugar Cane
(don’t know for the other buildings cause i wont buy them for 80fvc)
Upgrading building cost 15cash. For coin upgrade you need to earn recipe levels that you will get for selling goods. Fully upgraded building is 5 stars
Making goods takes 6hours. You get 1 good for your self to use, 2 to sell and some to share on the wall. I believe that the price is different for each good, but all i know is that pumpkin bread is 1000coins. Selling will give you 90% of price.
Using goods will give you fuel, seems like about 15unit for each, but not sure.
Maybe different amount of units depending on recipe/ recipe level too?
They are hinting about other bonuses to come.
Size of building is 9×7 of those small squares. Building is not rotatable.
This is what i have experienced, so don’t expect it to be 100% accurate..

It SEEMS like the friggin pregnant pigs this is going out to all the people who rarely play or are LOW in levels. I have 4 farms….over 50 neighbors on all of them and ONLY the people who have not played in 3 or 4 months and 2 players who have not reached level 30 yet have them. What the hell? I am Level 85 to 93 on all 4 farms. GIVE ME A BREAK!!! GIVE US ALL a break…those of us who play and give a crap. We SUFFER all the loss of farm use while you set all this up more then those not playing.

I got mine today on the account I rarely play, but not the others. Though, it does make sense to me that they would use this as a big incentive for inactive players to return to the game. I think it’s a very smart move by Zynga. And I’m quite happy with fuel as a reward, other than the brief time when you could refresh your mystery egg window until it gave the 20 fuel reward, I’ve always been low on fuel – enough so that it made me stop farming.

My neighbors who have received theirs are NOT inactive; one was on vacation recently but was minimally farming on her iPhone.
The lost mama pigs are definitely being routed to inactive or minimally active players.
My observation is those who left the game were overwhelmed with all the non-farm activity and/or had been burdened by too many Out of Sync and other errors.
Still waiting on my spa.
It also appears that Zynga has gone back to the old collections layout. I briefly had a different Collections window that had the Lightning items. which are now gone.

I am level 79 and I play daily. The CC option popped up on my screen when I loaded the farm. So being an occasional player or daily player has nothing to do with it. I have completed Organic Blueberry Mastery – is that relevant? I had the required bushels in my market stall to make sake and wine – is that relevant? I think it may be rolled out in scattered areas to help with server overloads, but that is just a guess. I live in the south central US. None of my neighbors – active or not – has had a legitimate pregnant sow show up, though there are several scam ones going around. I was able to trade in one bottle of sake for fuel, can’t remember how much. So far that is all that is available but they hint at more special items to come. I hope so as I already have over 500 fuel and don’t need any more!

I signed up long before my sister and she is already producing sake?? anyway…I suppose they are releasing in spurts..hope mine comes up soon. it will probably show up the day I leave for vacation!! do those who have one feel it is worth the time and effort and $$/

I’ve got the shop a few days ago. But it’s FV so it isn’t working like it’s supposed to be. I’m at level 2 with the winery, but still only get the first 3 receipes. People buy my wine, but the coins arent added to my account… But hey, it’s good fun
And I’ve heard they are releasing the shops over a period of time, so everyone will get one in the next week or so.

Guys, I still don’t get this new crafting building thingy Zynga released. I got my building a few hours ago. I initially chose Spa, but decided to go with Winery in the end… What I don’t understand is the upgrading for coins process. I’m supposed to fix and sell some drinks. Klippan (post # 44) mentioned above that upgrading using coins becomes possible when goods are sold, if I got it right… Well, there’s a bit of a prob the way things look right now… Everybody (who got the building and chose their business) is busy making goods and improving recipes, NOT buying goods other people make and place for sale… So how can we sell, if nobody’s buying? How can we unlock the coin upgrade, if nobody’s interested in buying our goods, since they make their own. I reckon the coin upgrade will not be locked by selling a number of goods, but by leveling up on recipes… otherwise the upgrade for coins turns impossible… If this is indeed the case, does anybody know how many times we have to improve one recipe to unlock that upgrade and the other recipes??? I mean, will I be making sweet sake, white grape cooler and rich grape juice for the rest of my FV days, unhappily ever after????

@Jules: your right, I’m producing like crazy, but hardly anyone is buying. I’ve leveled up to two stars and thats about it. I don’t get the coins from the proceeds so I’m taking it slow and concentrate on other things again. Part of the problem is ofcourse almost no one has the thing and my neighbors who don’t have one, don’t have a clue. I’m afraid it’s a failure before even starting
But we’ll have to wait, I just don’t put much energy in it anymore.
And for everyone who’s waiting: I have a feeling it will take a while before everyone has one. It is for sale on the market for 80 FV if you are in a hurry, but I wouldn’t waste my cash on it. But I’ve heard its quit a demanding application and the Zynga people are releasing it slowly. Sorry.

This is beyond irritating. I have had my spa gnome for about two months now! My neighbor got his winery a couple days ago and is already making Sake. I cant even buy a spa for 80fvc. I can’t believe I have the gnome this long and have to continue to wonder and wait on the actual spa. Where is the spa located in the market and such can someone please explain the steps one by one???? You get the gnome after picking…. after that I keep reading but nothing is matching what is on my farm.

Gah, this is very frustrating. My best friend got her cottage last week, so I was really excited hoping that it would be rolled out to everyone soon. I was out of town over the weekend, and was really hoping that I would come home to a new FV feature. Sadly, no.
No crafting cottages for me yet. I understand not rolling a new feature out to everyone right away because of bugs and such…but come on FV. This is getting annoying.

I think I signed up for the Winery, at least a month ago, and no sign of any CC yet.
Does it help if you plant and harvest grapes, or stuff for recipes that you can make in your CC, if you ever get it? Or maybe getting bushels for those things? I have a big collection of bushels of all types, but still no sign of the winery, or any other CC.
Maybe someone who has received their CC can say if they were planting/harvesting ingredients at the time, or collecting appropriate bushels.

I just received my spa yesterday. When I went to my farm, a box appeared saying crafting cottages were here. I got to choose which building I wanted. I think FV has been gradually sending out these cottages a little at a time so as not to cause another big glitch in their system. Anyway, the building will be in your giftbox. I suggest you make room for it for when the happy day comes. Have about a seven square space available to put it in. I didn’t have room and couldn’t find a place to set it. I was worried it would disappear on me. But when I clicked on the all purpose tool, it went away and appeared in my giftbox. From there I was able to place it in a cleared out spot.hope this helps some of you.

I have my bakery to 4 star and it has recently started to freeze. I can’t work with it anymore. I may have to abandon this Farmville operation altogether if this persists. What can be using so much processor capacity? My PC processor is 2.4GH so it is not top games standard but faster than most laptops so why do Zynga make their games so only a NASA super computer can work them. Far too much processor usage on Farmville. How do iPhones cope? I have to cull my animals all the time to avoid freezing and I cannot visit or help friends who have windmills, a lot of animals and all that other processor gobbling junk. I know you can click a button (the eye) to reduce graphics quality but it doesn’t seem to do much. What a pain!

I’m unable to expand my barns. Once I post, my neighbors say the barn raising is over and I never get the expansion. How can this be resolved? Now I won’t get to expand my dairy farm or my two other storage barns. What should I do to fix this?

Farmers market is out of sync. when I click on Make Goods
it shifts to the left of my screen showing only 1/3 of the box.

I am trying to upgrade to a level 3 on my spa and it will not let me, even thought the option is there. What gives? I have trying rebooting and all that. Is there some sort of glitch in the system? Has anyone else experienced an issue and how did you fix it? Thanks.

If you can’t get your barn raising or spa/crafting building to work, switch browsers. Sometimes mine loads under mozilla, other times only with IE.
Level 94 here and still trying to figure out if the crafting buildings are worth the trouble. Don’t need fuel, and growing what I need to make the crafts is taking away from mastering the crops that I still need to work on. You really have to grow the crops required to make the crafting work as you’re only allowed to buy 3 bushels every six hours.
Collect crops from the feedl and trade them too- that is helping a lot.

Susan, I can’t get past level 3 on my spa either. Very discouraging…

i have a spa and i’ve been doing it every day for weeks and i can’t get past 1 star. what am i doing wrong???
