FarmVille Feed & Publishing Post Glitches
Tonight Zynga issued an error message above the FarmVille Game screen to let farmers know there are currently issues publishing FarmVille posts to the Facebook homefeed. As always, FarmVille Freak has elaborated on Zynga’s instructions, making it easier for FarmVille Freaks everywhere!
FarmVille Publishing Post Problems
Current Fix for future posts are as follows:
1. Go to “Account” (upper right corner of the page)
2. Click on “Edit Friends”
3. On the left hand navigation column under “Lists”, click on “Friends”
4. Click on “Create List”
5. Create a new list called “Exclude”
6. IMPORTANT: DO NOT add anyone to this list
7. Click on “Create List” to finish creating the list.
8. In the upper right corner of the page, click on “Account”
9. Click on “Privacy Settings”
10. Click on “Personal Information and Posts”
11. For the “Posts By Me” setting, choose “Custom”
12. For “Make this visible to” choose the setting you want (I use “Friends Only”)
13. For “Hide this from”, type “Exclude” into the “These People” field.
14. Save Settings
15. You’re done – you have new default settings. Your posts will again be available to the people you want to have access to them!

I keep losing my Farmville feed and can only see facebook unless i go back to my farm and publish something. Any way to fix this?

I think I have an easier fix…..
go to your wall
in the “what’s on your mind” box, next to the “share” button, click the lock
I clicked “friends only” but you can customize from here..

or you could just do this:
Click on the box that says “what’s on your mind”(where you put your status) and the padlock comes up click on that, choose “Customize” and change it to what you want then click on the box “Make this my defaultsetting” or it will revert to “Me Only” for ALL your status updates.

After some of my non-farmviller friends complained about having too many farmville news I created a group called “Farmville”, and selected all my friends who ACTIVELY play Farmville so now every time I have to post something from Farmville I go to settings and choose just that group, so my nonfarmvillers don’t see the feed. it may take just a few seconds longer, but after doing it since december i do it more like a habit, and my friends appreciate it more

All you have to do is type a post, click the padlock, click Only Friends and then check the box to the left side that says “Make this Setting Default” and it will change your privacy.

This only works if they haven’t updated your privacy control page. It’s totally different now.

@Marvin3O Your non FarmVille friends can just hide the posts permanently. It’s nice that you’re doing what you are, but I’m sure you’re not their only friend that plays FarmVille. If they hover next to a FarmVille post, a Hide button will appear. If they click that, they’ll get another button to permanently hide all FarmVille posts. This works for all apps.

Changing setting on padlock does not set a default, even if you check default. The settings are fubar for all Zynga games.

Tried saving my setting but once I refresh it goes back to “ONLY ME”….any other suggestions??????

I know this is off topic, but I was one of the many who had the mustang pop up, and then got help from 1 person, then could not get any help cause it screwed up. I just went onto the zynga.com site to farm, because I was having problems on FB, and the mustang appeared in my gift box. It is now in my stable. Wanting to make sure that this was not a fluke I sent a neighbor there who was having same problem, she has also recieved it. Hope this helps some people out.

Work around for FB/FV problem…
I’ve done it this way and it’s easier…Go to Account (on upper right): Privacy Settings:
Personal Info and Posts:
Posts By Me:
Custom-Edits:
Then select friends only AND choose a person to “hide”. Then you want to save settings.
That one person you select won’t be able to view your wall is all, so just… pick someone you don’t speak to or doesn’t play the game anymore.
I have several friends who don’t play but I keep them as neighbors because sometimes to get new features you have to have X amount of neighbors.

WTF?
Why did Zynga screw with this? I only want farmville stuff sent to my farmville friends. My other friends don’t want it. Why doesn’t farmville understand and respect that?
I’ll just do without the feed. I don’t need it anyway anymore. Wandering stallions are the only things I sort of “need” the feed for anyway,. Screw it.

I just made a list of my Farmville Neighbors and each time I publish something from the game, like an egg, or collection, etc., I just click the lock and choose my FV list that I made. That way only my FV neighbors can see my FV posts.

It will revert back to only me… It is the new FB privacy setting!
I already have the posts by me set at friends only in my settings, but it is not showing that on my wall.
The exclude thing makes no sense at all.
Unfortunately, as far as FB is concerned, every moron will copy & paste a really bad suggestion that someone else posted over & over again.
How many morons changed the way their profile wall looked just because someone told them it would change the feeds back to the old setting????l

I followed the directions until i got number 10 I could not find personal information and post only thing there was sharing on face book and basic directions so I am stuck can’t do 11-15 don’t get it

Sorry for the multiple posts. I have also noticed on a friends page, when he went to privacy he was taken to a new page FB just came out with.
in this case you need to look under
“Sharing on Facebook”
then go to “custom”
then click on the tiny link at the bottom that says “Customize settings”

weeniegrl Actually it does work very well. I would suggest you try the fix before you call the people suggesting it a moron. The reason you use the empty list (and it can say strawberryjam instead of exclude if you so wish is because it causes the code to actually save since there is new variable in there. Obviously FB has some kind of bug where it does not save unless you change something. I am sure it will be fixed before long but in the mean time this works very well.

Note – facebook has a privacy setting to automatically restrict who can view posts by applications and games (like farmville) so if you want to restrict who sees the post to, say, neighbours, you can do so there. you’ll need a friend list for all your neighbours. that way you should not need to touch the lock symbol when publishing from farmville, ever.

Facebook must be slowly correcting the problem as I’ve had my default settings back to what they were previously for a few hours now (defaulting as “friends only”, not “me only”). So hopefully the problem should correct itself in due time for everyone without needing to do anything as suggested here.

During all this “construction” I was sending gifts, and there were 3 animals added, a cream draft horse, a blue pony, and a hippie cow. When I went to my other farm
to send them out again they were gone. I really wanted that blue pony. I hope they get put back up!

I know, its a other theme but I was on the farm on my nice half an hour ago and there came a pop-up farmville has been enhanced please refresh the page …. – so I do this and there were a lot of new sendable gifts there – some new horses and a new cow – I send a blue pony to my account. When I logged in to my account the blue pony was there
and I try to send a gift back but there were nothing new – so I went back to my nices account and the new gifts aren´t there anymore too. But I have the pony on my farm, I tried to breed – I can put it in my horsestable but there came only white foals out 
– so has anybody seen the same???

I’m with Clisty and Marvin. As long as you’re creating a list, you might as will just create a list of your FV friends. I know that people can click the “hide” button for Farmville feeds (I’ve done it for basically every other game out there) but a lot of the whiners on my friends list don’t. Having a publish to only Farmville friends list makes me feel a lot better about posting every bonus, etc.

I tried to set my privacy settings in the directions you gave, but the page that comes up is new, i’ve never seen it before. it won’t let me set the personal settings option. it used to have like 5 different options, now it has custom or recommended. i dunno, can you help me?

I’ve tried logging in from Farmville.com but received this ‘You currently do not have any posts in your game feed.’ Which is weird because if I go directly onto my FB friends profile, I can see various bonus. Nothing shows up on my FB feed.

What is the deal Farmville? You guys need to test your stuff before you go live. I lost 2 Purple haired foals last night while working my husbands farm. I was harvesting right during your update time around 11:00. I lost the first one, and then tried to get another one, and lost it too! WTF! I tried ALL NIGHT to get one. When I finally did, FV glitched and lost them. WILL YOU PLEASE LET US KNOW WHEN THE UPDATES ARE COMING SO WE ARENT WORKING IN OUR FARMS!!!
Another thing…..tried to move a building, doesn’t work. I tried to move my post office, then my school house. Neither one would turn. What’s up with that? I don’t get the directions of how to do it. You pick up a building then use the space bar? What exactly is the recycle button? Is that just the same as the delete button?
Whatever…you guys are pissing off the real gamer people with your inability to make your game work correctly. If you can’t get this straight I will take my FV dollars and go play some other game!!!!! I’m level 68 and I can only get to level 70 anyway. Who pics an odd level like 70 to stop.
YOU GUYS NEED TO TIGHTEN UP!
BTW…..why is it that there is absolutely no way to contact you people? Do you live on some isolated island like Survivor?

One more thing…..thanks for fixing the harvesting glitch. It use to stop on the 4th harvest every time. That’s gone now. THANKS. It’s done it as long as I can remember. I really do appreciate that.
Now please, work on eliminating the other weird glitches. Contact me if you need help figuring them out. LOL

I’m experiencing difficulties to publish absolutely everything from farmville but only when I’m connected in my home network, everytime I click the “share” button nothing happens, the pop window doesn’t appear at all, but if I take my lap to any public place, that problem doesn’t occurs. Please, I haven’t found the solution, not even the cause…..HELP!!!!
