FarmVille Lost & Found Feature
FarmVille introduced a much needed Lost & Found feature for finding all your farm’s lost items!
Now that we are managing as many as six FarmVille farms it’s super easy to lose items and not remember where we placed them! We all know how annoying it can be to lose an animal that’s needed for a Quest requirement. And if you’ve accidentally placed it outside of an animal habitat- forget it!
The new Lost & Found feature will allow us to search our FarmVille farm, Storage, and Gift Box for our missing item. To use it all you need to do is type in keywords in the Search button. You can find the new Lost & Found feature located in your in-game toolbar menu towards the bottom right. Just click on the FarmVille Gift Box icon to view a scroll-out menu which features the new Lost & Found feature. A FarmVille Dog is its icon.

It will be useful if it works right, which most features don’t when they are released. And if it’s a slow release, I don’t have much hope of ever getting it, or at least not any time in the near future. I still don’t have any of the new items in my craft shop , ie fishing nets, pick axes, etc. and it was only two weeks ago I finally got the feature that allows me to see what each item in my gift box is used for. Not to mention the lack of concern they seem to have of the lag in the game this past week or so. Many attempts at contacting customer service only frustrates me more and more because the agents don’t seem to have their info straight about what’s going on either. I’ve been mis informed many times and getting fed up waiting for help. The game used to be so much fun, but with all the quests, building stuff and poorly running game. I’m just about done. Only a few more weeks and I’ll be at my personal goal I set for myself, then quitting.
But I must say that I am grateful for Farmvillefreak for all of the information and tips you have all provided for me and other players.

Can I change my vote to NEEDS IMPROVING? I actually have the feature now, BIG SURPRISE, but we still need to go farm to farm to find stuff. If the item you are looking for isn’t on the farm you are, then it tells you (no item found on this farm)

One time they accidentally turned off the unwither rings, and it took me almost two weeks to find it on my home farm to turn it back on. I wish they’d had this feature back then!

Finally… something _____ing useful.
This should have been a feature YEARS ago.
Bout damned time. I can only imagine how much this will cut down on garbage customer service cases after people misplace things. I mean i’m all for sympathy, but a lot of idiots playing FarmVille lose stuff for dumb reasons, like hiding it behind buildings… and then tie up support preventing those of us with legitimate issues and complaints from getting quick help.

@Debi: I whole-heartedly concur with your entire post =)
I do tend to get the “features” pretty soon after they’re released, but most of them don’t work and a good deal of them actually make it WORSE! even when they ARE functioning properly, I truly do not understand wtf the person who decides to implement these “features” is thinking most of the time..
The ability to search your farm is kinda cool, Ive resorted to trying to “use” an item from my gift-box that the missing thing required–like a bottle if I lost a lamb, etc.–so that it would highlight that item blue, but a lot of stuff I couldn’t find even doing that, so I don’t see how this is going to be too much more helpful than that. As long as it doesn’t cause problems (yeah, right..), it might be kinda handy. It would be a LOT cooler if a highlighted arrow, or two, pointed to the item on your farm.. PLEASE??!

Not having much problem locating things on my farm, not that this feature would help with, anyway. But I do know where a find feature is needed!
The Farmer’s Market!
Chinese Daikon bushels are listed under D for Daikon, and
Forbidden Daikon is listed under F, for Forbidden.
Squid Bushels are listed under C (for cquid?)
White Cloud Tea is listed under G, and
Gingerbread is listed between W and Y. (Why?)
If ever there was a FIND function needed, it’s in the Farmers Market!

So far I like this feature. I wish they had it on the list that pops out when you click on something to find more of the same thing on the farm.
then in my craziness of trying to reorganize orchards and babyplay pens I can find the animals and trees and put them in the same place.
I will work with what I got for now and it is helping. hope they will consider making it a bit easier to use by adding it to the pop out list.

I voted for, “yes, but needs improvement” before I saw these comments & am happy to know I’m not the only one who’s thought of a few VERY OBVIOUS improvements that would make this feature great. I’ve been telling anyone who’ll listen (for years now), that we need a search feature — at least they’re getting close! The biggest thing they should have done is to make it possible to search for an item on all farms at once. While I have been known to lose something & know which farm it’s on, I’m a lot more prone to not remembering which farm I left a certain animal on when moving it in & out of storage!
As for new features never working when they’re released, don’t even get me started. I, too, have yet to be allowed to make things like fishing nets in my crafting building.
And squid is under “C” for calamari. I know. You’re preaching to the choir on that one, Tala. Not to mention bushels being in a different so-called “alphabetical” order when you’re looking to get them from friends, than they are when you’re looking to use a bushel you already have in stock….

I only use it once in a while when I can’t remember which pen I put an animal in that I need to harvest for a quest, but it is handy for that. Too many times I’ve harvested the wrong pen and “wasted” it. But it is a pain that it only works on the farm you’re on. I thought the “travel” button might look on another farm, but it only takes you to the usual travel feature.
