FarmVille Loses 4 Million Players Last Month, Why are Farmers leaving FarmVille?

Posted on May 7, 2010 11:45 am by FarmVille Freak FarmGoddess

While FarmVille is still without question the number one Facebook game, consisting of a strong 78 million active users, over 4 million farmers left FarmVille last month. It is important to mention that at least 18 out of the top 25 Facebook games also experienced significant decline in users. So why is it that most games are losing active users? Are farmers leaving the farm for treasure hunting and island adventures?

While many people are adopting the virtual life in Treasure Isle, the fastest growing game of 2010,  it is unlikely to contribute to the entire loss. Many farmers can enjoy farm life and simultaneously search for treasure due to the nature of Treasure Isle’s energy requirements. While providing a nice distraction when waiting for your crops to grow, unlike FarmVille, Treasure Isle  and games like Mafia Wars are not always available for play since they are dependent on energy packs. So what is causing the decline in most of Facebook’s  top 25 social games?

Part of the explanation could be Facebook’s regulation of developers, thus affecting gaming applications like FarmVille. For one, Facebook removed third party notifications which limits social gamers’ communication abilities. Many disgruntled farmers were upset over the changes made to gifting, the new collapsible styled newsfeed shares,  and email notification requirements. Another factor contributing to the decline in users could be the unreliable Facebook instability as a platform in general. Many users do not understand this and instead place the blame on developers for issues they have no control over.

While Facebook provides the platform for social gaming interaction, the contributions of social games is unprecedented. Games such as FarmVille encourage routine visits and consistent logins to Facebook. Some people are using Facebook as a sole avenue for gaming, registering for accounts just to play games like FarmVille, Bejeweled Blitz, and Zynga’s newest child Treasure Isle. As the relationship between Facebook and developers like Zynga remain unclear, Zynga continues to add new games.

Facebook and developers need to get along and work out solutions appealing to everyone. Facebook should appreciate the growth and the revenue that Social Gaming has provided them with. As mentioned by Inside Social Gaming, it is their opinion that,

” Facebook and the industry need to see organic growth of some form if the industry is going to survive. Despite what some developers might say, the company does want social gaming to continue to exist. Among other reasons these games bring users back to the site, and make it more generally interesting and meaningful; they also present a new opportunity for Facebook to monetize, via the company’s budding Credits virtual currency product.” (Source: Inside Social Gaming)

MTV asked Zynga C.E.O Mark Pincus about his thoughts on the loss of active players and he suggested “this drop in numbers is only for the  short term as FarmVille wasn’t the only game from the company to lose some followers.” (Source: MTV Mutliplayer)

  1. Steve4310 Says:

Warm weather is probably a big factor, too..

  2. Jen Says:

I can see people leaving for many reasons. I am pretty much at a standstill on the game because my farm is full. Because of that, there just isn’t much I can do, and definitely nothing more I can add. I’m just waiting for a second farm or something so I can decorate and add more crops again and have fun playing again! Also, having to rely so much on facebook feed items is getting old – I don’t want to have to post so much, I wish they would keep it internal more. I’ve actually lost some real facebook friends because they were annoyed with all I posted. Another reason is having so many items be farm cash…. so many of us have millions and millions of coins and nothing to spend them on.

  3. Jethro Says:

I kind of like the new gifting system for Zynga’s games. It’s nice in the way that you can accept all the gifts within a few seconds instead of having to wait for numerous page loads..

But I hate the wall feed links now!!! C’mon, I clicked the link to get a bonus/help out/ect.. do I really need to confirm that I indeed intended to click the link? Makes zero sense. Not to mention just irritates the snot out of me and everyone else I know that plays.

  4. kimberley Says:

they charge farmville cash for everything. its not fair on people who cant afford it.
they never give decent animals, buidlings and decorations for coins.

    thats is why.

  5. Jane Says:

    True story Kimberley.

  6. DL777 Says:

I have been playing for a few months now, but may not play much longer. Several of my friends have already left because a) it was taking way too much time to just brush animals, visit farms, send and receive gifts, plant and harvest; and b) there wasn’t anything new or exciting going on- they had millions in coins, but couldn’t do anything more without buying FV dollars. The “out of sync” and other FB problems definitely contributed to their frustrations. So, they pulled the plug.

To me, it’s getting a bit boring – “same old, same old”. I too have millions in coins. what’s the point of that when everything costs FV dollars?

    Changes I’d like to see:
-speed up the animal harvesting (or let us buy farmhands with coins), which would help retain those players who have limited time to play
-let us accept a collection item from our giftbox without opening the whole darn collection screen each and every time, again a time-saver
-another farm expansion opportunity would be nice
-keep coming up with new crops
-ability to purchase a larger harvester/seeder/tractor that would do more plots at once

To each his own. I know there are many players who have lots of hours each day to play. I am not one of them. :-(

  7. Paul Says:

because everything half decent costs FV’s. why pay for a bit of fun on a game. im considering leaving if it continues. all my family play and never pay for FV’s.

  8. The Ram Says:

me 2 paul i rarely play now like how i use to do instead of spending ur cash on this game buy something better or a real farm

  9. Poetically Just Says:

I don’t think there’s any one reason. I know a lot of people who get very frustrated with glitches (like losing gifts) and loading problems. Running out of room to put stuff out and limited storage make it hard for people to enjoy the new items. And the coins vs. FV is a problem. I really like the Southwestern theme, but there is only one building you can buy with coins. I splurged and bought some FV cash for a shed and the gila monster, but I don’t wanna put out any more money to get more buildings. I’m glad they’ve added some new SW decorations for coins, but if you really wanted to redo your farm it would cost you.

  10. The Ram Says:

Jen u r apsalutly right n thats wat i was saying everything is cash now days nothings coin anymore just useless stuff n i hate posting **** to it annoys me n my friends also. n 2 many lost animals

  11. svetlana Says:

    game:
-no possibility of expending the land that limits the game
    -pricing in fv cash
-posting on fb undoubtedly annoying to people not interested in the game but also to people playing, because it interrupts the game
    -boring gifting process

    other:
    -good weather

  12. ozer Says:

every wants a new farm expand
there farm´s are too smal to place al things on it they want!!!!!!

  13. Wolfy Says:

    Hmmm, I’m not surprised.

I feel as though the introduction of the co-op farming has put many people off, including myself, I never take part in it.

It’s all just getting too complicated, since Farmville is a fb game, it should be pretty simple as it’s a way to preoccupy free time rather than have your free time revolve around it.

Loading issues is also the most obvious one, and the whole farmcash thing.
I hope zynga shakes things up a bit :0

  14. podcast should not be delayed Says:

farm chash do much going on two much stuff need land expansions peaple get bored like i wance did and farmville not working the nearly lost me but i caried on many peaple like othe facebook games such as castles of hamelot 26 of my freinds have blocked farmville and gone to castles of hamelot

  15. Belle Says:

    Everything costs FV…every freaking buildings/decorations
    No space whatsoever!!!
    Loading issues!!!

  16. Weezil Says:

I like Farmville and will continue to play regardless of the issues listed above. That said I do see some room for improvement
    1. I’ve been maxed out at level 70 for some time and have yet to hear of any work being done to change that in the near future.
    2. I have been at the largest expansion since the second they released it and also there is no hope in site for another expansion.
    3. The slowness of the site lately has been frustrating
    4. I have almost 11 million in coins and not much to spend them on. I have bought some FV cash so it’s not that I mind spending a little money on the game, but I’d love for there to be a little more balance between Cash and Coin spending.
    5. I think there’s also a lack of communication from Zynga about upcoming changes. I’m not talking about the podcast that’s been delayed the past couple of weeks either. I’ve suggested to them that a spreadsheet or web board of what’s planned and a timeline would probably go a long way to placating users. For example, a list showing that a 34×34 expansion was expected in June and a 36×36 expansion is planned for September and what the planned requirements would be to open those. There would be a caveat that of course changes could happen for various reasons, but at least something to plan ahead for.

I’ve always found that communication to a group will help ease a LOT of frustrations.

  17. zana Says:

i hope they lose more players. fv is a rip off.

  18. derek Says:

Well can you blame people for leaving with all the issues that FarmVille has had? It’s flustrating when you work so hard for a reward and then your screen refreshes or you don’t see the win in your box. How about the MANY days you haven’t been able to get on your farm or like me had to empty all your cookies and etc every time you wanted to collect a gift and then log back on? Even with the newest version of Flash. Or how about the long and slow loading times for someone like me with a level 65 farm? I’m also getting bored with the game and with nothing more than a level 70 I’m sure I will be like several of my friends who have already reached that point and just put my farm in winter mode or plant 4 day crops. Do you blame us?

  19. Marina Says:

The reason I’m thinking of leaving is Flash and its unreliable performance. Farmville constantly crashes, and I reboot my computer two or three times just to harvest, plow, and seed one field. And this is on a new computer! Farmville won’t even load up on my old computer. Too frustrating, biggest waste of time!

  20. sally Says:

I’ve noticed my friends are leaving, i have to now add randomers. Also literally everything is farmcash, and i understand they need to make profit, but just make it a little better for us who dont waste money and make things coins! also because of how slow everything is, i couldnt even get to my farm yesturday, and when i go fullscreen is crashes. and theres still no podcast haha. so yeah, you will continue to lose players. simples.

  21. Toby Says:

Get a expansion going, a big one.

And raise the levl to 100 or so.

Quick fix, but doubt Zynga listens to paying customers.

  22. Hopkins B. Taylor Says:

I think the biggest factor on FV is the fact the levels stop at “70″. I just recently maxed out on FV. Would love to see more levels added.

  23. Irene Says:

I agree with Weezil, #19, on the improvements to be made especially the level 70 limit. I have just reached level 70 and there is just nothing else to go for except obtain masteries. However the purpose of obtaining masteries was for the extra xp to get to the next level and extra FV Cash and for the new features such as the FV Market, which has yet to be implemented. I do believe the timeliness and communication of their plans and changes will do a lot for the players and ease the frustrations.

  24. Maggie Says:

my decline in play time is definitely due to the change in weather – spring makes you want to get out and about ~ work on that house “to do” list i’ve been accumulating.

however, i’d think a few “simple” changes could help a bunch with the boredom factor that could be sending other farmers away

if you were able to temporarily store your things and hit a “wipe clean” button to get rid of all the plots and anything you didn’t care enough about to even temp store (ie. haybales) this would encourage people to redecorate/rearrange more often.

i’m not sure enlarging farms is the answer ~ how long before those are filled to capacity and the noise starts for even larger farms? at the rate things are introduced, it wouldn’t take long!

storage would be a great help ~ temporary “white space” to hold things while you rearranged? larger barns? for all buildings to be useful??

i agree that the fv$ to coin discrepancy is huge – i read a suggestion that zynga make a coin to cash purchase possible ~ i think this is a great idea ~ even if it were an incredibly large number like 1 million coin = 1fv$. (to people starting out ~ that may seem massive, but really once your farm is maxed out and assuming you still have 150-ish plots ~ you’ll be amazed at how fast you accumulate coin and the days of WISHING you had enough for the 24×24 expansion will seem so long ago….)

    omg, i’m rambling. i’ll stop.

nutshell: still a fv fan ~ still working towards my masteries…….. just a little slower now

  25. brandon Says:

the reason why people are leavin farmville is coz everything is in farmcash !!!!!!!! i agree Ram!!!

  26. Andi Says:

I’m losing interest in all of the games needing some much real cash. Points earned in the game are becoming useless. I don’t mind spending some money but I don’t want to have to consistently pay to acquire new things for these games. And all of the things you have to “build” or pay cash for are irritating. Many of the games don’t have storage space or enough storage space to accomidate us. Farmville won’t let you store trees or animals. I haven’t completely lost interest yet but I’m not playing as much anymore.

  27. StrawberrySupreme Says:

    I wholeheartedly agree with Jen.

I’ve grown increasingly aggravated with game performance. It’s basically a chore to load FarmVille, and even when it does load, things typically don’t work smoothly, or things are missing. Not to mention the new fuel glitches.

And, I’m in desperate need of more room. This just leaves me with nothing to do, the game growing stale. They want us to buy all this new stuff, but where to put it? Lol, the expansion helps, but definitely doesn’t solve the issue at hand.

  28. Oana Says:

Everything is FV cash (it’s impossible to have a theme on your farm without paying for the bigger stuff with cash)… Whatever is not FV cash, is tied to a lenghty process that requires begging from neighbors and putting up with neighbors begging for a month after you finished your building (and even that would be fine if it would only be limited to help requests and not involve gifting also)… The gifting process is reaaaally annoying and glitchy (and they made it 10 times worse with the in-game thingy)… Co-ops are annoying… They increased the storage limit, BUT not the capacity of each barn/tool shed… And so on… I gave my farm to my sister, at least for a while… Cause nothing new they add manages to spark my interest and I feel like the only thing I get from playing is frustration… no fun at all, anymore… :(

  29. Pollux Says:

Why don’t just leave Facebook and got to Tweeter? : p
    just a comment!!!
And I agree, a big issue that many people leaves FarmVille is the Facebook platform unstability… that’s a big problem.
I have lost several neighbors and many friends of mine say it is because of that…the long time we spend logging in or opening the application

  30. Crys7y Says:

And … after you will get Level 70, get all the mastery signs, what will we do ? We’ll work to pay the FarmCash bill ? H**l no !

  31. ishaan Says:

well i think it is because of lot of farmville cash items coming in the market and there is no level after 70 and many people have achieved that level

  32. Mr. Oso Says:

I agree that there is too much that is only available for FC, however I think it has nothing to do with “jews” (Ram are you 12 or just slow?), this is capitalism… The entire point of developing video games is to make money, there is nothing altruistic about this. Do you really think that Mr. Pincus put together a team of developers because he cares how much you have to do in your spare time?

Things that would help in my opinion:

    1. Put out some buildings with a coin option, more than one per theme…

    2. Expansion
I believe I have read somewhere that further expansion is not an option at this time because of server issues though.

    3. Stop with the team buildings
This is a great idea in theory, but it is just annoying. I get very tired of people asking for stuff constantly. I live in LA I deal with beggars on a daily basis, don’t need ‘em here too.

    4. Let me get passed level 70!
There is nothing more frustrating than getting a +100 xp from my stables…

    5. Keep fuel for coins available indeffinately
I have no problem spending real money every now and then, but I have a working farm and it takes like 7 or 8 tanks to harvest plow and plant…

Now, all that being said; I have no plans of stopping playing and guess what… Neither do you. If you did you wouldn’t spend your time trolling a Farmville Informational site and complaining about what you read…

    somebody owes me 2 cents

  33. Slmaz Says:

people are leaving because farm ville has too much faults and everything is in farmville dollars now. The farm takes extremely long to load another problem is the farm is too small, the plantation needs to be upgraded. Why introduce other games on farmville and you know people will try it out and love it? Yall need to upgrade farmville, and the farm size n fix the problemz goshhhhh

  34. Jessica Says:

As a Jewish member of the FarmVille Freak community, I find Ram’s comment offensive and request it be removed.

  35. None important Says:

    >As a Jewish member of the FarmVille Freak community, I find Ram’s comment offensive and request it be removed.

    Jesus Christ. Cool out.

  36. sucker4life09 Says:

    i want to leave farmville.
    1. servers are so slow…takes a good 10 minutes for me to actually play the game. and even then it loads forever!
    2. this is a beta. why are people paying for fvc. this is insane…
    3. im out of room on my farm. even with the xtra storage…

idk if i should leave or not…its not even fun. more of a “chore”
    bleh…

  37. Robbie Says:

There are only about 10 of my friends playing now and there used to be over 60 a few months ago. I was thinking of stopping yesterday because I was out of fuel and annoyed.

  38. Liam Says:

    1. The weather’s great and I’m spending way more time outside.
    2. I’m at level 70 and don’t have the incentive to catch up to my other farmer friends who are also on level 70.
    3. The past few weeks FV has been taking frustratingly long to load, keeps giving me OOS errors when I’m trying to harvest or plant, takes forever to load neighbor’s farms, gifts are getting lost, neighbors aren’t showing up, etc…
    4. The co-ops were fun at first, but if just one person messes up a co-op it ruins it for everyone.

I don’t care about things being FV cash – I haven’t spent a dime and don’t plan to and don’t feel like I’m missing out on anything. I don’t want the farms to expand any further since it takes long enough to load the farms we already have.

At this point I’m just working on 2+ day masteries. Hopefully that’ll keep me going until Fall when the weather cools off and then my wish is for FV to iron out all their bugs, and increase the levels to at least 100 with more crops to unlock.

  39. Calum Says:

I am the only one of my 40 or so neighbours still playong, but still, I am not playing regularly. I have no money from forgetting to harvest and can’t be bothered putting effort into getting lots back. In my peak I was making hundreds of thousands, now I just check here to see if there is anyt cool event that will make me play for a bit:P Farmville’s kind of boring now and too much items are $$$ rater than fake money.

  40. gokuvegeta Says:

they charge fv cash for everything
    buildings
    decorations
    animals
that is why many farmers are leaving!
    want more levels then 70
when we level up we should get 5 cash instead of 1!
    weather issues
    my suggestions
less space on farm we want more space!.
Loading issues is also the most obvious thing
face book added show similar posts function we miss collections, lost animals, fuel, coins ….. they should change it back
boring gift process takes toooooooo much time and we can only send 30 gifts a day ? why loll ll
speed up the animal harvesting (or let us buy farmhands with coins), which would help retain those players who have limited time to play
let us accept a collection item from our gift box without opening the whole darn collection screen each and every time, again a time-saver
another farm expansion opportunity would be nice
ability to purchase a larger harvester/seeder/tractor that would do more plots at once.
less harvest’s for masteries berries has toooooo many harvest”s 3000 harvest”s lollll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  41. Gary Says:

A group of 10 of us at work play each night. Eight of us are already at Level 70 and the other two will be there soon. Can’t understand why adding levels and keeping faithful players interested is not a priority. And multiple e-mails to Zynga asking if more levels are being worked on only result in a worthless form letter of “thanks for the suggestion:.”

  42. Pollux Says:

Of course…if it is a GAME …why do we have to pay in FV dollars???
I recently reached millions in coins, what can I buy with that? if everything is on FV dlls.

-Time spent and frustrating waiting to open my farm

    - No visibility of my neighbors when my farm finally opened …it’s so frustrating also!!

-I decided to buy The Mistery Boxes …but every giift was repeated and spent all my FV cash on 3 equal houses. That’s no fear!!

    - My dog is not doing the trick after complete the feeding like rolling and play dead.

well these are just some of the issues and maybe some reason many people is leaving FarmVille

  43. Bob Says:

I have been at level 70 for quite some time. Raise the levels to give some incenitive! Also, They keep coming out with new buildings but all are for FV bucks. I have bought on occassion but even if you bought all of them, where do you put them? I have millions in coins and nothing to buy. My farm is maximum size but what is my choice? Plant a lot of crops to earn points, which are wothless to me as at level 70, or buy a lot of buildings for FV bucks? I think not. I am definatly thinking of leaving as all challenges are gone and I absolutely HATE the “show similar” feathure!!!!

  44. Jango Says:

There are many things to be improved, I agree…..but none of them would ever be a reason for dropping out of Farmville. It’s a wonderful game !

  45. gokuvegeta Says:

i quite dont agree with you
    @jango

  46. Mingails Says:

They losses players because they make almost everything for FV. And these things are the most beautiful so people don’t want to play anymore because they can’t create their farm as they want. In my opinion they must make more things for coins not for FV. :)

  47. Phillippe Says:

Why!!! that one I think is due to a lot of thing but first if facebook would be STABLE it would be fine , need more LAND like 26×26 and more… , beeing able to go over level 70 , more crops mastery , new animal (not with fv$) , what about the feed on facebook , always having the option to pay either with gold coin or fv $ or a way to redeem gold for fv $ and please keep in mind that not all of us can or have a credit card or money to spend on fv $ (exg: both my kids play farmville and they are under 8 yo ) well for now i’m still playing but I REALLY NEED MORE LAND FAST NOT STORAGE

  48. mschicklet Says:

LOL!!! Why are players leaving? Check out the official forums — glitches glitches glitches. SO many threads about things going wrong. Either farmers can’t even get into their farms (making playing literally impossible) or when they can get in, 10000000 things go wrong. There’s only so much patience a person can have.

  49. Trish Says:

More and More of my friends are taking a hiatus from the game. Reasons:
    1) Too many glitches that aren’t fixed in a timely fashion.
    2) Too Many Clicks required to accept items
    3) Too much Wait time between Clicks
    4) Too long to load Farms
We spend over half our Game time Frustrated and Annoyed.
The #1 Frustration among my friends is that there is TOOOOOOOOOO much time spent Clicking and Waiting and Clicking and Waiting and Waiting and Waiting. The Cluster Posts have gone beyond annoying. The RANDOM number of items on publishable items…you never know if they are Done or not. So, you click…you wait…you find out there is nothing left. Then, you have to go back, UnCluster the Similar posts, try to figure out where you were, and, start all over again. And, heaven forbid you accidentally click on an Empty item you’ve already clicked on!

TOOOOO Many Levels of Complication have been added to the Game. Co-Ops and the coming soon Factories. Factories? Where did that come from? The basic Game of FARMVille we all started playing was much more enjoyable!!!

For every Level of Complication introduced to the game, the Level of Glitches seems to Escalate. It’s supposed to be a Fun, Entertaining Past Time. Now, it’s becoming a Frustration designed to test your patience.

The #1 Bug Complaint among my friends, currently, are the Collectibles. (only giftable items rotating in the collections). This has been going on for a week now.

I love that they keep adding new, fun items. And, some elements, like Collectibles, Mystery Eggs…they do add some fun (when working!) to the game. The seeming Cross-Purposing of their games into FarmVille is making the Game almost impossible. However, while we all have really Loved the Game, there just aren’t words to express the current disappointment being discussed among my friends. Several are taking a hiatus from the game. And, I can no longer share my once total enthusiasm for the Game to other friends.

Still playing….and, still hoping things improve.

  50. FVplayer111111 Says:

They need to make it fun again. Your fuel doesnt refill everyday. ALL the animals and cool buildings cost outragious amounts of FV cash. Everything is overpriced. No more variety of new adoptable animals.

  51. rachel Says:

There several reasons people are leaving farmville,
    1. most people are maxed out on space, and either have to fill their farm with barns and such to store their things, or delete them which they dont want to do.

    2. they are maxed out on levels

    3. FV cash is expensive, you should get WAY more for the money you put in, I like to think of it as a “video game” well, video games are aroun 60 to 70 dollars. You have to consistantly put money into this game to buy ANYTHING because everything new they put out that they know people will want costa a lot of FV cash. I know people that put in that much every month!

    4. all the clicking is annoying, yes i want to accept the farmhands thats why i clicked it!

    5. deleting anything to change the farm around is totally time consuming.

    6. we should be able to share the things we have with other farmers.

    7. we should be able to rotate everything, all of these things lead to a boring game,

PS ram you are completely uncalled for and that was not nice at all!

  52. rachel Says:

    1. can get to my farm only over farmville.com, facebook doesn’t load
    2. even then I have to refresh the page 10 times before it loads
    3. 7’784’021 coins, 0 cash (and I’m not gonna spend real money on a virtual house…)
(coz I started playing too early and leveled up fast before you got 1 cash per level)
    4. no good stuff to buy without cash
    5. no space to spend the coins
    7. to visit friends farms, same as step 2.
    8. stopped sharing stuff to my news feed last october (annoyed friends)
    9. friends did the same, so I can’t get anything anymore
    10. have all blue ribbons except the mistery box one (stupid coz cash) and coop farming (don’t do it coz people just see it if you share, and I don’t share…)
    11. no unlocking new stuff for high level farmers…
    12. I have a life and I enjoy it! no need to sit inside once the winter’s gone (if it will go away soon here!) and no need to play the same seeding and harvesting since last august;)

now what I do is just go back every day to harvest animals and trees with the new arborists and farmhands (30’000 coins a day) and my 60 golden chicken coop…

FarmVille doesn’t respond or reply in a timely manner (if at all) when serious issues are presented to them in the forums. Not loading for days and weeks on end, gifts being lost, neighbors disappearing … these are just a few that have yet to be addressed, much less fixed.

This has gotten many, many farmers upset so they’re leaving in droves.

  54. sally Says:

oh yeah and a lot of my friends have moved onto that stupid treasure island game… its so stupid .

  55. laura Says:

I am hating that collections seem to be rotating on giftable items. Hating the new gifting system–haven’t sent a single gift since it started, and gifts received have gone down from 20+ per day to one or two. I guess it annoys my friends too. My farm is full and gorgeous, so any and all new decorations for FV$ aren’t worth it. Maybe if I could sell them back for a portion of th $, I could buy the new stuff, get rid of the old. I haven’t even bought into the SW theme at all, because then what do I do with my ornament trees?

I like the idea of the “wipe clean” and the empty space to hold things you don’t want visible on your farm for the moment. (Reindeer, ornament trees, etc.)

I’m not going to quit the game, but I’ve stopped buying things with $$ because I don’t need them anymore. I fee like my farm is “done”.

Collecting bonuses has gotten so cumbersome I don’t even do it anymore. I go in, harvest, and get out. Still addicted though.

  56. Anna Ludema Sellers Says:

I really enjoy playing Farmville. I think we need bigger lots. Also we need to go beyond 70. I for one will not leave this. I think that people need to grow up and act like adults. I don’t think that profane language should be acceptable. You don’t see kids acting stupid. Thank you for these games.

  57. mschicklet Says:

Sally, I agree. Treasure Island SUCKS.

  58. WayneJ360 Says:

I think it is because there are so many people at level 70 that cant do anything they need to raise the level cap

  59. YM Says:

Expansion! Expasion! Give us another expansion and we’ll be in business. All social games have something that you need to buy if you want for for your farm, city or aquarium to look nice and unique. Unfortunately, everything costs money. At least you don’t have to buy a Nintendo or Atari to play this game and then keep buying expensive video games. Farmville will always be the number one social game because it lets you create your own environment. Some of the farms look more like cities or villages. I think that some of the for cash items should be available for coins but not all. If all were available for coins there would be even more outages and glitches. The items that we buy help them acquire more equipment and resources to improve and maintain this game. Even Facebook charges for some things such as special gifts for boirthdays, etc. 78 million users is no ballgame…I am even surprised that it works as well as it does. The other issue is that people forget to update their flash players and also empty the cache in their internet browsers. Also if you a PC that’s older than 4 years FV will probably not work as well on those types of equipments at entry level/average PC’s most people buy. You need a PC that has at least 3 GB RAM for this game to run halfway decent-if not more. When playing FV I have seen my computer use up over 700MB of RAM specially because of the number of items I have on my farm. I am sure they are preparing for they need to offer another expansion as that will also create an even higher demand on their servers.

  60. DanB2666 Says:

    1) – FV dollars vs. coins. Millions of farmers have millions of coins, but nothing good to spend them on. You release new animals, trees, decorations, etc…but its all FV cash. I understand they need to make money, but maybe offer alternatives. If you have a new animal released, if you spend cash you get something more in return, but if you spend coin then you don’t get that extra little bonus.

    2) Out of Sync, Reloading, and slow loading issues, cause quite a aggravation when wanting to jump on and harvest and jump off.

    3) Mastery crops…if you want to have a limited time base crop fine, but let us have the option of mastering it. When I can’t master a crop, I never ever plant it. Why waste my time (I don’t need the coins).

    4) More room MORE room MORE ROOM!!! We keep getting new buildings/animals but are trying to cram them all into one place. I need to expand or have the option of a second farm. Personally, I like order and structure to my farm, things have a certain place. I don’t like cramming it all together.

    5) Easier time adding neighbors or deleting neighbors. Lets face it we all have people on our neighbor list that quite playing yet sit there in our neighbor bar (and have dead farms).

    6) Pull and Drag (Harvest, Plowing and Planting) this is needed, even with the expansion to 9 squares, it is a pain in the ass if the connection is acting up.

    Anyways, those are my thoughts.

    Dan

  61. cathy Says:

I’m thinking of leaving FV because it takes so long to load. Loading neighbors’ farms and fertilizing them is almost impossible. As it is, I have to close the internet connection completely, then open it in order to load a single neighbor’s farm. Then, once that farm is fertilized, I have to close the internet connection again, open it again, etc. Then, when I do “load” the farm, it takes about 5-10 minutes. Ultimately It takes me about 10-15 minutes just to visit one neighbor and fertilize their farm. It takes even longer to load bigger farms or farms with lots of items on them. Some of them, it’s impossible. I’ve given up trying.

And, I doubled the memory on my computer and followed all directions from Zynga on adding improved programs, clearing memory, etc. It’s ridiculous.

Then, there’s that issue of hundreds of thousands of coins, and everything good costs dollars.

And co-ops are impossible due to the people who simply join the co-op to get the prize, and do nothing. I’m not talking about the people who join, plant, and are unable to harvest before the harvest goal is reached. There’s got to be a way to automatically eliminate someone who doesn’t plant anything.

Then, there’s the special, limited time crops that don’t offer mastery. The tomatillos proved they can do it. So, why don’t they??

I used to spend a lot of time on FV – not anymore. I hardly spend any time on it anymore.

  62. stacy Says:

Everyones comments were completely valid!! well, almost. “the ram” (stupid name btw) is nothing more than ignorant and deserves to be banned. as for the real reason we are all here…. lets just hope zynga pays attention to what their users are saying!! not much they can do about all the glorious sunshine!! but they could certainly address the issues on everyones minds!! happy farming everyone!! except ram… i hope your farm accidently gets sold.

  63. William Says:

There are alot of reasons that I’ve heard why people have stopped playing FV and most are posted here also the grouping of post has stopped alot of folks from sharing things because they feel why should I bother when nobody can find them also alot of farms take forvever to load and alot of farmers have stopped fertilizing including myself because of this. There has been some improvements but still unless FV resolves alot of issues they will keep losing farmers. They make alot of money from us and if they don’t change things soon they will go broke. I agree that there should be more items you can buy using FV coins. Making bigger farms will only add to the problem of farms loading slow unless they ( FV ) upgrades their servers to handle the load and I know they can afford to do it, I to would also like a bigger farm. Glitches can be a pain and this is also why some are leaving, I try to explain to my neighbors that we are using a beta software and you will have glitches and other problems, we are the beta testers and we find the problems and FV fixes them. Any way FV you need to listen better and WAKE UP and make this game fun again :) )

  64. kitkat Says:

I get so tired of the whining about FC. If u dont want to buy then don’t, there are plenty of people who do.

  65. Tati Says:

I’m probably not going to play for much longer either, getting sick of everything being for F$, plus I’m more concerned with growing crops/getting masteries than I am with decorations, anyway.

I’m going to be Level 70 before I finish my masteries, because I’m almost at Level 50 now and I just don’t see the point of playing with no goal.

  66. Anon Says:

Since everyone’s throwing in there suggestions:
    - free storage for items
    - MULTISELECT items to delete/sell/harvest
    - Get rid of the principle of using vehicles to harvest/seed/plow & fuel -> multiselect & harvest/seed/plow
    - co-op jobs; only allow people you want
    - buying items should be like buying hay bales and hedges, no need to open the market window each time

  67. Juan Says:

Over and over again these complaints are just too broad, and in most cases NOT Zynga’s fault, I understand the frustration with items costing farm cash, but suck it up, if they didn’t make a profit somehow there wouldn’t be a game at all!

People are too demanding of the developers, and lets face it, Facebook as a platform is very immature and highly duplicitous, their privacy policies change every month which worries me the most.

The way I see it the more people that stop playing the better, maybe they’ll also stop visiting the fan sites and complaining like anyone on here can actually do anything about it.

  68. Daniel Says:

All costs farm cash, Zynga should be most aware its dedicated players and reward them Giving them the Opportunity of exchange coins for cash on a bench in the game, Even at a high cost.

I have no space to plant, my farm is full and I can not level up.
I spent about 1500 farm cash in this game and I will not be stored in a barn.

Some changes reduce game performance, resulting frustrating.

  69. Debra Says:

I have been playing since Oct 09. I must say I am 55 and this is the first game I have ever played on the computer or purchased games like Nintendo, Wii, X-box etc. I have purchased all of these games for my children. It was very relaxing and took my mind off of many stresses of the day.
Lately I have become so frustrated with the game feed, the constant out of sync, & the introduction of a lot of new things all at once. You have many players who are trying to complete the horse stable, the Madison, The nursery stable, & Botanical & they are frustrated because they have got there fingers in so many and get frustrated because they cannot even complete 1 thing. The rule about 1 person only being able to gift them 1 item a day makes it even worse. Each player may have 2 of the items they need but can only gift 1 every day. By the next day you have forgotten about that neighbor who asked for help for many things since you are getting new requests.
What used to take me roughly about 40 minutes to play now takes me about 4 hours or more non-stop to finish. As your neighbors grow you have more farms to visit and friends to gift to. Then after you gift everyone, you go back to check on your crops, when you try to harvest for some reason it will just stop & get stuck after moving right along & no matter what you try you cannot move it until whatever is causing it to just stop. Same with planting, and seeding.
Then you introduced the co-op which is a great idea. However your time frames are somewhat ridiculous. Some people have very team like players where they can get about 4-5 players working the CO-OP. Then you may have a group of players who just do not want to do co-ops and it is left between you and one player. Of course you always have the cheaters who join at the last minute when they see you and your co-op buddies are going to make the Gold and jump on only for the prize & not XP. There should be a way to shut people out from the co-op once all the seeds that need to be planted our finished & they are just waiting for the harvest.
You got puppies running off because you are focusing on all of the above.Of course you cannot get them out with coins, it is Farmcash like everything else.
Too many new items, themes, etc are being introduced all the while the programmers have not had time to finish correcting the major issues of the game, lifke lost gifts, game feed not working on Farmville. Com, To make things worse the feed on Farmville on Facebook is riduculous. It does not even show half of the items posted by neighbors. You can get things done by what Farmville calls recent feeds. However if you go to each person’s site by site you see many things that was posted around the same time that never even showed on the recent feeds. I find that with about every neighbor farm I check on.
I know farmville takes a lot of cookies and I make sure I am constantly cleaning them knowing that. if you do not it slows down the game. You also almost have to buy extra memory just to keep it from not running so slow.
When I email customer service for support they are very friendly, professional, and try to answer your questions the best they can. However most time they cannot answer things like time estimate when it will be fixed etc. I am sure it is because the programmers do not communicate with customer service reps. Why they continue releasing new items without having a person or persons run a test before it is released does not make since. Or are we the test people because of Beta?
So all I can say at this point is I love the game. However I do not have 4 hours a day to play it while I let other things in my life go aside. It was suppose to be a relaxant for me and not another frustration in life. So many of my neighbors have stopped playing for now as they have gone on trying out other games out there to see if they run any better.
Thanks for allowing me to make my comment and input on why I feel Farmville is losing players.
    Debra

Nice to see some of you actually mention the weather.

Rachel you can set up your posts so they’re only visible to certain people via lists. That way the people who don’t want to see your FV posts don’t have to.

  71. JJ Says:

Reasons why I’m starting to lose interest in playing:

    1) Accepting bonuses now takes an extra 10 to 20 minutes because of the extra page loading and extra clicking.

    2) Accepting gifts and sending thank you gifts has become a headache as the gifting system is still broken.

    3) Getting emails from Zynga about people sending me gifts means I spend an extra minute deleting emails. I can find out someone has sent me a gift by loading the game. I don’t need the extra emails flooding my inbox.

    4) No incentive to plant anything as I’m not interested in masteries and hoarding coins is useless in this game since anything truly interesting or worthwhile requires FV$.

    5) I play other games. I find myself playing other games when I’m tired of dealing with FV issues.

    6) No fixing of glitches.

    7) Too many teasers—Farmer’s Market, unreleased items, trick that my dog knows how to do, but cannot do, flower stand/stable/dairy farm expansion coming soon, nursery to transform baby animals into adults… where the HECK is all of this stuff? Why tell us this stuff is coming soon for bloody weeks and months without giving us an update on progress?

  72. Mark Says:

I thought that I could buy fuel with coins if I completed a co-op job. I did and received my medal but the option to buy fuel for coins is gone. I’m at level 70 and nearly complete with all mastery. I had to plant something I had already mastered to get the co-op metal, which took time. I’m so upset right now that I may just quit also.

  73. Sarah Says:

A reason why I had Neighbors stop playing is when they stopped putting good stuff in the gold eggs.

I am still addicted to FV but I had the most fun playing when I was trying to find a donkey in the gold egg. Now I can care less if I click on a gold egg.

I think they should at least change what’s in them more often and put something in them like the donkey that you can’t get anywhere else to make it fun and challenging again for the egg hunt : )

And like everyone else.. more space would be a huge plus…kind of at a stand still with room..even if I had a mil fc I wouldn’t have anywhere to put anything!

  74. Alex Says:

farmers are leaving farmville, because zynga are greedy (at the least and not to use other, more .. colorful words).
why should we continue farming, if every new thing in the market costs FV cash? and it’s not like they grow on trees, you know.
after a while, not being able to afford anything, something, relatively cool that has come up “on the market”, one just looses the desire to play.

and another thing. how long did it take you to get the dogs on the market? at least a month after the “screen load”-thingy was up. (and they cost 65 freaking farm cash!! are you out of your god damned minds?!?!)
the same thing happened with the co-op. people get sick of waiting around for the stupid updates. if you can’t provide something fast enough, people loose interest.
i know it must take a lot of your time to create something new, but all you have to do is say “it’s coming soon” barely a week before the original release date.
teasing is good, but you just have to know when and where to draw the line between “teasing” and simply “annoying”.

  75. Daniel Says:

    ops sorry

  76. farmergirl Says:

i still sign in and play for about 5 mins a day, i have been around since last summer, so there’s not much left for me to do. well past level 70, mastered almost all. it’s the lack of space, FV$ situation, facebook basically slamming the door on gamers, and nobody i started playing with last year plays anymore. out of 200 plus neighbors, maybe 10 still play, and it seems they only sign in for about 5 mins too. i don’t think it’s something that most people will continue to play for years and years, most will finally become bored and move on to something else. nobody plays the same video game over and over, right? once you beat it, you move on. that’s whats happening here, most of us old timers have reached what is basically the end of the game. it was bound to happen. and i did start playing treasure island, but that only lasted about 2 weeks. it is just pointless in my opinion, just clicking. still love FV best.

  77. Wilhelm Says:

Someone, just please e-mail zynga and leave a link to the angry comments people post. Maybe they’ll get a sense and actually put some effort into adding some GOOD QUALITY stuff.

  78. Nemanja Says:

I wonna stop playing FV to,because my game is slowly when I become a level 30… :( ((((((((

  79. Jefron25 Says:

The reason that people quit farmville :

    - No levels after 70
    - No extra FV after level 70
    - No expanding of fields in farmville anymore (24×24 is max)
    - After every update there are problems with the game…..can’t this not be tested.

  80. tikijeff Says:

Every week it seems Farmville gets slower and sloooower.Very frustrating!!!!

  81. becky Says:

I think the biggest problem is the FV cash. I buy it, but I don’t want to spend $50 something a week on virtual money when I have over 3mil in coins saved up! not even saved… rather, nothing to spend them on and them being stockpiled.. I’d like to see an option to exchange coins for cash, or start releasing more coin items. or, just abolish coins all together. seems totally silly, but if they’re not going to release anything worthwhile to spend it on, why have it?

  82. Jez Says:

    Jeez you guys:

    PEOPLE ARE BORED.

    Simple as that.

  83. Jennifer Says:

I was ready to leave about a month ago. My farm would go OUT OF SYNC within seconds after loading. It took almost a week for Zynga to fix the issues. Despite several e-mails and bug reporting. It kinda pissed me off that they didnt even offer to pay for all the coins I had lost for my withered crops. Lately it seems it takes forever to load. Then when you do get to the farm it runs soooooo slow. I seem to be losing interest. We really need more land. I also think they should offer more ways to earn FV cash. I have been at level 70 for some time. I cant even earn that 1 dollar anymore. I am getting close to leaving as well. Unless they give me some better challenges and more options.

  84. Cinda Says:

I think a lot of frustration is having to weed through 75 posting to find a foal, etc. I realize this is not the fault of Zynga, but they are paying a price for it. My friends that I connect with on FB all enjoy FV and like to talk about it, the changes, new things, but it is getting increasingly more difficult. I am getting great with the “hide” function so that I don’t have to see every posting of every application. If folks would put more more thought into what is posted, it might help too. I know my friends who don’t play the games just block the app or use “hide.”

I am playing Treasure Isle and it lasts 10 minutes before you have to BEG for energy and that HAS to go the already oveused feed function.

I miss when you could go the FV only feed.

There was a sale on dollars on TI recently, 30% off. Why not Farmville???? And why not let folks trade a silly amount of coins for even a few dollars? That would bring folks back. I’m a fan of the themes, but I think that has driven folks away.

    My two cents.

  85. Therese Says:

My biggest gripe now is we need bigger farms. Zynga keeps putting out more and more stuff that costs real money. I buy one here and one there. But once my storage is full what do I do? I don’t want to delete anything I paid real money for. And I don’t want to urbanize my farm so that I can’t farm anymore.

The other peeve is glitches regardless of whether I play from Facebook or Farmville. When I earn something to share, I have a hard time posting it for my friends because the curser locks up over the pop-up window.

I do like the slow pace of the game and the “farming” and “harvesting.”

  86. tikijeff Says:

Oh so slow it feels like I’m on dial-up.Shudder!!!!

  87. podcast should not be delayed Says:

after 8 my farm is not acsesibul farmvill.com dont work nor does facebook

  88. Aaron Says:

Zygna is selectively greedy – theyve been alot nicer on Mafia Wars lately. They are being greedy with Farmville because more people play this than the population of France.

  89. pafarmgirl Says:

I’ll throw my 2 cents in as well….I still enjoy the game, and did try Treasure Isle for about 2 weeks, until I realized that it is not even a fraction as good as farmville: terrible graphics, boring, just not as generally interesting. I play farmville with some “real” friends (other middle-aged suburban American moms like me) and some really interesting people that are my neighbors from all over the world. THAT is one of the best elements of the game: the ability to connect with perfect strangers in different time zones, on different continents, of different ages, and become “neighbors” and, in some cases, even friends. Yes, I do wish the game added more levels, and maybe another expansion, but I like the “themes”, and when I got bored on my first farm, I just created a new gmail account and facebook profile and started a brand new farm, which was really fun since I knew what i was doing….so, I support the game, and Zynga, but wish as those above have posted, that the promises of “coming soon” would stop, just bring them on, and the co-op thing was stupid. The French theme, the modern theme, the southwestern theme, all fun….keep it coming, and PLEASE, Zynga, if you read these, EXPAND THE ANIMAL BARNS, fv cash for coins once in a while as a treat to loyal players…..

  90. Rob Gould Says:

I noticed that the lower level players have stopped playing.Maybe they didn’t find it interesting or went onto other games.
As long as the hardcore fans stay,I’m sure that FV will be around for a long time.BTW I reached level 50 this morning.

  91. cm punk se Says:

ok i will tell you the reasons why the decline in farmville is so last month,…..

    1. The average person does not dedicate there lives to farmville they have jobs partys and other stuff.

    2. Most people dont like a boring game when there is no new golals or achievments to do.

    3. Beginers will think people playing the game are crazy for buying things with there own money, time, and many other things that fend of people who thought about playing this game (no offense fv freaks im a fellow fff!!!)

    4. It is summer time, most people like to be outside if they experience fairly cold weather in winter months. Anyone notice how many people joined during the winter?

    5. with all the glitches, slow loading and other junk like newsfeed not working many people are just straight up pissed with how some of the things work.

    6. Have you seen all the freakin pretend farmville $#!+ that people get that messes up facebook (and there computer) and then they assume farmville itself is doing it???

    7. LASTLY SOMETIMES YOU JUST GET STRAIGHT UP BORED WITH FARMVILLE THIS IS TRUE FOR EVEN FFF

thank you very much post if you feel me comments concerns criticzm i want to here t!!

  92. beachmonkey Says:

I don’t have many farmville friends, and I don’t really want strangers in my facebook page just because of the game. I miss not being able to give presents to people who aren’t necessairly my neighbors. Also, there are too many FV cash items and not enough coin items.

  93. ameenoosh Says:

i waiting for long time to transform my calves and foals and waiting so long to expand the dairy and the garden shed the beautiful flower are limited i think the must lower the price of limited thing .
and the mystery eggs are sucks all the time chicks !!! they did not change the prizes …
and only 5 can adopt the foal or hatching eggs or taking collectable
the collectable are hard to receive
and i think they should make the price on gold medal of co-op 1 fv cash
and one more thing the must be more than 70 lvl ….
and trading between the farmers .

  94. tom Says:

i will be quiting soon cant do my farm every move saving your farm please dont close your browser

  95. cm punk se Says:

    what does btw stand for?

  96. Nemanja Says:

    game gotta be faster!!!! :(

  97. Justin Says:

You want to know why Farmville is losing players?

Because at one point this game was ABOUT the players, now it’s all about Zynga making money.

Zynga is getting greedy and charging for EVERYTHING!!!

Why not sell the same items that they sell for Farm Cash but for high amounts of coins?

It’s completely not fair to the average player that they have to spend real money to enjoy this game.

Also, if you sit down and do the calculations for Farm Cash to buy things, you would be spending as much (or more) as you would for a console game, then you would for 1 limited edition set.

1 CONSOLE GAME that you can enjoy over and over and over, that isn’t a virtual product and that does more than sits on your virtual farm.

Zynga needs to give FarmVille back to the players and make it an enjoyable game again!

they charge farmville cash for everything. its not fair on people who cant afford it.
they never give decent animals, buidlings and decorations for coins.

    thats is why.

    true explanation thnks

  100. Cathal Says:

i quit cause everything costs FC now. the game is no fun anymore. i loved it at Christmas when i started but now its just bad. the co-op farming is terrible, the puppies cost more cash than anyone can afford and the eggs/gold/valentines are lame.
oh and link sharing was banned too loads of people quit then.

  101. pipwizard Says:

hmm every1 have already said wat i wanted but um 2 other things 3 fv cash yeh fv cash were sneakly pinched although i have got sm bk 4m mystery gifts. Also i thought u got fv cash on every level up. Wrong i havent since level flipping 39 grr sort it out zynga.

  102. Christine Says:

I have lost interest in playing because everything is FarmVille money! It’s not fair!!!! Anything nice you can’t buy unless you have FarmVille money. Then they have the nerve to throw us a bone with something stupid for coins!

  103. HICHAM Says:

BECAUSE OF ” SHOW SIMILIAR POSTS “

  104. Maria Says:

I’m also very disappointed by the way FB is right now. My husband, my 7 year old and I have been playing for months now and my 7 year old used to LOVE it, but now he’s TOO frustrated that the game never loads, or takes forever to load and then crashes… there’s no room for anything anymore and they keep releasing new items and new themes every day, AND most appealing items are FV CASH. Ok, people are free to buy them or not, but my son is just 7 and he keeps very frustrated to see other people posting pics and boasting of having this and that cute item while we don’t have money to afford them, this is making him sad and frustrated. I’m also thinking of quitting because my farm is totally crowded, storage full, gift box full and if I add new things I won’t have any room for seeds, really! the themes are beautiful, but one new theme for week is way too much and I can’t remodel all my farm that often, I have a life! Of course we are not forced to do it and it’s up to us to get the new items or not, BUT they are appealing and we do get frustrated and that’s a fact. But, all in all, I’d say the most frustrating things are the constant glitches, trouble loading and my browser crashes some 10 times while I harvest so it takes hours to do something that would normally take 5 minutes…

  105. Belle Says:

    1. I never saw my jackrabbit again that had been given to me by a friend. Instead I’m stuck with the stupid cactus.

    2. It takes years to load.

    3. Co-ops are impossible to finish (gold) when you just don’t have enough neighbors (I have 18 and only got silver, and bronze)

    4. Everything is getting way too expensive and I’m not spending real money so I can’t buy anything. Even trees and stupid decorations cost farm cash.

    5. waiting for this boring dog for ages.

    6. promising that animals are limited editions and then releasing them later (no problem with other people getting the animals, but don’t lie!!)

    7. the game just started to bore me in general

many of my friends stopped playing and i will, too. at least i think i will delete it soon. i got really mad when my jackrabbit was gone.

  106. FVF1988 Says:

It only makes sense now why they been releasing so many cash items, including items that should be coins items (Saguaro Cactus and Short Cactus.) Zynga is trying to keep its profits up through the loss of so many players.

Its sad though, hope these tragic circumstances donnt lead to Zynga leaving facebook.

  107. cm punk se Says:

thanks alex, i thought it was bitc# tissy whine

  108. Shelly Says:

Several of my friends cut back on play time when FB started groups all the FV posts together. It is a pain to have to keep clicking into them all only to grab a bonus, etc and then do it all over again. Did this drop off happen around that time?

  109. Lorelai Says:

I think it’s linked to the fact that this month includes college finals. Facebook and farmville both cater to college kids.

  110. Rachel Says:

I have many friends who have stopped playing Farmville. I believe it is too much upkeep. Clicking on every single animal & tree gets very tedious.

So now I’m in a place where all the buildings which require people send you parts for, sit on my farm 30% complete & it costs too much FV$ to complete the buildings. If you have been on Farmville everyday, you should be rewarded with these building being completed.

I think Zynga is largely at fault for this, and they need to take some responsibilty. Peopla adding random people to facebook just to finish your farm buildings etc seems a bit dangerous to me, for that maybe Zynga need to think of a solution.

  111. Rogue Robot Says:

People are leaving because of the complete crap that Farmville has been introducing lately. Co-ops don’t work correctly and the vast majority of my neighbors don’t even bother with them. The dogs were so ridiculously over hyped and when they finally do come out they are nothing but a decoration with a chore attached. Levels beyond 70 have been coming soon for how many months now? The French Provencal theme was very popular but since then the themes have been pretty lame. Far East, Modern, Southwest? Most of my neighbors have completely taken a pass on these. There are bugs and glitches galore but the only ones that ever seem to get fixed are the ones that benefit the players and these get fixed in a matter of hours. There is a higher level of dissatisfaction now than there ever was in April so the number who are going to leave this month is going to be way above 4.4 million. If they don’t do something drastic and soon, Farmville will be nothing more than a trivia question by the end of the summer.

  112. fedup Says:

Could possibly be because of all the issues that have been happening! I know I am fed up. The last two days have been better but I was still not getting my gifts. I for one do not have the time to fight to get into Farmville!

  113. Dustin Says:

Where is the Farmer’s Market? I’m weary of “Coming Soon!” That promises to make the game more interesting.

  114. Rhi :) Says:

maybe younger facebookers are leaving the game because its exam time right now in britain, and we have no spare time on our hands to play games, too busy revising & stupid coursework ¬_¬

  115. Jennifer VaghyJones Says:

I get frustrated with the whole FV$. I don’t have money to spend on a real game.

I would also like to send friends gifts from the marketplace with coins. I have some friends who don’t have as much as I do.. It would be nice to send them something special.

And when my storage fills up, I wish I could send friends items I don’t want anymore instead of having to delete it.

I also haven’t been gifting or fertilizing like I used to. Loading pages take forever. Why can’t I send a gift back as easily as I accept it?

If farmville is really about neighbors, and having fun with friends, they sure do make it difficult.

I am holding out for the craft buildings and the farmers market.. but if that is the same disappointment as the dogs.. I might consider leaving too.

  116. MARIAH Says:

Aside from everything mentioned above, one of the reasons must also be that the GOLDEN CHICKEN IS STILL AT 25 CASH VALUE IN THE MARKET!! HIDEOUS AND HILARIOUS… LOL

  117. MooMooMoo Says:

The report posted shows that only two games of the top 25 had an increase in average daily users last month.

As the games are not all from Zynga, I conclude that a goodly chunk of the drop off is due to the gamer unfriendly changes at Facebook in April and the performance issues they have had (i.e. server failures).

A secondary drop would be in college students on Spring Break in April. The May numbers might also be somewhat lower due to students taking final exams, preparing to move, etc.

Many of my neighbors are neither college nor school age; they are mostly older. Their absences from gaming involve family matters, medical procedures, business trips and the like. The social aspect of Facebook permits us to let each other know in advance when we will be unavailable. Hopefully the Zynga Network will have good communication features.

  118. Dale Spear Says:

Well I have been playing for like three months now and these are some of the issues that I find nerve racketing, and a hassle to deal with…

    1) why is it you can only rotate animals and NOT Builds…

    2) The fact that you can only buy the cool new themes with FV, instand of like when I pay 10 dollars for a card its is equal of both coins or Farm cash, keep that same ratio, and maybe additional 15% if using coins.. If they really want it… like the adult horses (22$ FVC= 35,000 coins)

    3) You FarmVille listen to you customers and borough out the dogs But for the First Dog, 300,000 for a coin dog then three weeks later bring a dog out for 5,000 coins I was very upset and though you ripped me off, cause i wanted it asap…. So i spent it…

    4) You need to make the field more expandable or allow the player to add another border lot for a some of like 300,000, and let us build it up, and make it act as a real farm would be with multi fields… if we so choose.

    5) I truly enjoy paying it, and will as long as you guys start listening to us, and if you have to upgrade post it so we all know in advance, like on date of ???? we’re shutting down to upgrade.. would be nice instead of time we waste trying to get online…. and getting No where….okay now im rambling on cause there are so many issues … Just please fix a couple of them before adding new stuff….like co-op operational things…

    6) Good things: Like the Themes, and Nursery, Expansions (barn/tool shed) and other things but come one people get with it and finish it… Don’t let us just hang in limbo.

  119. Kristen Says:

    There are a few reasons
    1) everything costs a TON of FV money not coins like it use to be
    2) there is nothing to look forward to after level 70
    3) no new Co-cops
    4) No new seeds worth planting!
    5) Mastering takes for ever!!!

I am on level 60 and why should I continue to play after level 70. Who do I have to brag too?? All of my friends are in the upper 40′s or above..what do we have to look forward too?

  120. chaos3x Says:

Another useful tidbit Farmville, you wouldn’t have so much of a problem with this but there are no more levels past level 70 and hasn’t been a land expansion since January.
Geez you think that people would be more inclined to play if these things were applied in the game. As well try placing more of the items that come out , to be paid with coins not Farmcash and then you might get the increase in players that you are looking for.

  121. em Says:

Whine Whine Whine woe the heck is me…

Zynga gave you entertainment be that you choose to buy fv cash or you kept it cheap… they aren’t in debted to you, they owe you nothing, your not entitled simple… i think too many people are thinking they are entitled to something when they honestly deserve nothing but a good spoon of concrete to harden up!!

My theory why people are leaving is that they are reaching level 70, they aren’t into crop mastery therefore have nothing left to play for.

  122. makettle Says:

I love playing but improvements would be great…
We need to be able to expand our farm as needed. Zynga comes up with great items but we are running out of room. The co-op farming and new buildings need land.
We need more fuel for coins. Fuel runs out too quick.
It takes too long to plant and people that I talk with feel like they are spending too much time playing. Can we have a ‘plow all land’ or a ‘harvest all ‘ button?

  123. joemomma Says:

overall i thinks its only 25 million players as in the farmville fan group page and the rest of the players that make up 80 millon are just fake accounts and after people spend the farmcash they need off thier fake accounts there is no longer need to use it so the drop of 4 million players might be just used up fake accounts that players dont go on anymore lol

  124. Tam Says:

I don’t know other peoples’ reasons…but I’ve slowed down on FV because of work. Yes, there is more to life than FV and FB. When things slow down in the fall, I will be a regular player on FV again…

  125. 1Kate Says:

I think a lot of the attrition is simple game fatigue — not everyone is a dedicated, hardcore Farmvillian. I noticed a number of long-abandoned neighboring farms finally get deleted this past month. People play for a little while, then get busy doing something else. Summer is almost upon us — and people would rather be outside in their REAL gardens than inside on the virtual ones.

And honestly, many of the fun, basic features have been lacking or turned off for some time — like the animals moving around — which added some fun and unpredictability to the game even for newbies. Now every other week there’s a new building that requires tons of help getting built. Tons of my neighboring farms have skeletons of abandoned stables, nurseries, etc. that were never completed. Because if you start building AFTER the initial push to get it done when it’s first introduced, you get very little help. I’ve seen that happen time and time again.

And for old timers, there’s very little aside from the Wednesday and Friday updates to look forward to. Yes, they’ve added some new seeds (about time!), and yes, a lot of new seasonal items now cost coins instead of FV$, but there are no basic land expansions to help house these things.

I’ve also noticed a couple of my long-time hardcore FV neighbors are paying less and less attention to their farms lately. One guy’s farm is basically storage for his 4 billion items, plus a plot of land that’s never tilled. Lots of withered crops and old seasonal items that haven’t been tossed yet (valentines, pots o gold, etc).

Time will tell the real story, but it’s probably just ordinary ebb-and-flow.

  126. EVA Says:

ITS ALL BECAUSE THE FV$, THINGS ARE NOT FAIRLY EVENED OUT! BETWEEN COINS AND FV$

ZYNGA ARE FUUCKING LOSERS! STOP MAKING EVERYTHING FV$!

  127. Romel Tabang Says:

cuz there were many problems in farmville, loadin issues, farmville enhanced, if they new realesed farmville cant play and many many thing ;-(

  128. Anthony Says:

I play daily no matter what but i think the nicer weather may have something to do with it. i’ve noticed since the warmer weather i’ve been wanting to be outside instead of being inside playing farmville. Plus I think more levels and crops need to be added. I’ve been at level 70 for some time now and its just getting old. I liked it when I was on like level 30 and had to work to unlock the next crops. They need more of that levels past 70. Also i do believe the way facebook groups it all together now is annoying. Collectibles are also harder to get. Another thing i think is a turn off is there always trying to put out this new stuff like the co op and soon farmers market thing. There make a simple game that was fun a little to difficult. I myself don’t really want to be bothered with the co ops

  129. Soveliss Says:

    Hello everyone,

administrator are two of the many forums on facebook dedicated raging in Farmville. Are in contact with more than 30,000 people every day, setting out for me and the group, the most varied problems.

    1) How many of you have said, people complain that beautiful things can be purchased only with PV, while anything less important with coins. The players would like the opportunity existed to purchase the gift (especially construction) with two options. One example, perhaps the product will probably cost 22 Tuscan barn and FV like everyone else, or maybe more. Why can not I buy a PV 22 and its corresponding cost in coins? If we look at the page that allows us to purchase the PV, 25 cost $ 5.00 as 7500 coins, then a barn from 22 PV would cost 6,600 coins if you do the ratio. We wish to multiply by 10 and round up and then taking it to 70,000 coins? Why not. I fully understand that there are at

    2) Being a Beta version, Beliefs & Causes FarmVille is constantly updated and not as stable as any game, but players are tired of losing gifts, unable to see the CO-OP and more. So too many failures, some brought a kind World or Warcraft or with custom server.

    3) Just do the players want the expansion of terrain and are now at the limit of patience because they no longer know where to place various decorations.

    4) The players do not complain Beliefs & Causes FarmVille continuously for the amount of posts that are published in the bulletin board users of Facebook, and said sincerely, I can no longer see the posts that are not of Farmville, maybe even important. It is also the figure of lazy to see all those posts. Reasons: the staff page of each of us is composed of some cards (info, photos, causes, events) can not add the card to divert Beliefs & Causes FarmVille and post in that board without blocking the dashboard?

Sorry if I have dwelt, but I do not like to complain without being constructive and propose alternatives.

Thanks to all who read this post.

    Soveliss

  130. WeirdJedi Says:

I really don’t think I could add anything else. You guys have it all explained. My brother quit because there weren’t any “new” crops. Friend quit because she messed up at the beginning when there wasn’t a tutorial. Another one quit because of the long waiting times.

What do I not like about the game? The number one reason is loading times. It has been said before that the lag time is definitely not necessary for a “game” like this. Second is the number of items requiring farmville cash. I kind of feel it is a cheapshot when you offer people to buy fuel, chickens, and other minor items for such inflated costs. I personally dislike the cluttered interface that is used through facebook. You’ve taken good steps (like the Zynga Message Center) and bad steps (like the chicken eggs).

I think it has to be the pace of the game. The majority of “coming soon” annoys the snot out of a lot of us folks when new unexpected stuff comes over those things. Many things should be handled, like the co-op glitches, before working new things. I know the art department isn’t the same as your programming department.

Overall this is a fun game, but there are too many reasons TO leave.

  131. kbk Says:

It was really fun for a while. I still know a lot of folks who play and love it. But I don’t want to buy FV cash to get a cuter cow or an elephant. And once the 24×24 is full, face it if it gets any bigger we won’t be able to see much of it at a time. So where do we go from here? Ok and can they make the game run smoother? Every time there is a big change, why gifts get lost or you can’t load the game. We’ll need some big changes if you want us to stick around. I’m getting bored with this.

  132. Random Guy With Good Opinion Says:

It gets boring to plow, seed and haverst “square by square”. I know there are tractors, and other vehicles, but they use too much fuel, which can only be bought with FVCash (besides this celebratory week or something, and it’s expensive). I speak of personal experience… As the field gets bigger, the game gets boring. I say they come up with a system to facilitate the plowing, the seeding and the harvesting, or else they will lose more and more players. A lot of friends of mine have stopped playing farmville because of what I said, and I too, am considering it. I mean, I love the game, but c’mon! If it weren’t for that troublesome catch, the game would be a lot lighter, funnier and people would play it for more time!
Another thing that bothers me, and a lot of my friends, are the FVCash-only items and animals. Every item should have a coin version, even if it’s very expensive. Like the fuel, it has been available for the last couple of days, and even though it’s expensive, it’s “buyable” with coins… Since that system was implemented, I’ve gone from having the ocasional 5 tanks or less (sometimes none), to having almost 40!
I think that these are the two main reasons for people putting aside farmville…

P.S. A way to help solve both problems, would be being able to buy the hot-rods for coins! I don’t know if it’s true, but a friend of mine says they are able to perform on nine “squares”. Still, they should get a coin version of every item and animal, etc. (even though it means an awful amount of coins), and they should also come up with a system to make easier to plow, seed and harvest. And sorry if my english isn’t the best, sometimes, as I am portuguese.

  133. Wendy Says:

Why are people leaving…my guess is that they are running out of room to farm and to design their farms…cannot buy anymore items no where to put it. Glad they increase the storage space. But they should have just made 1 barn hold 200 items and each shed hold 50 items. That would free up some of the land. A better ideal is to have area that can hold everything you have so you can re-design your farm without selling items. And you can bring things out during the special holidays or if you bought all the other buildings (French, Western, etc..) you can go from my design to another. Really hoping they will increase the size of the farm land and change the storage issue.

  134. Random Guy With Good Opinion Says:

P.S. 2. I said I had bought fuel, and I just wanted to add that I went bankrupt for doing it. xD I mean, if it weren’t for that, I would have like 500,000 coins, whereas now, I only have near 100,000. I say that it is a good iniciative, and want to congratulate whoever came up with the idea for doing it, but they should go easy on the prices. But babysteps, babysteps.

  135. cipto Says:

i don’t mind to purchase things in FV$ as long as the pricing is make sense. nowaday, the price increase so incredible.
for example: 46FV$ for building? it’s almost 8US$? that’s my meal for two days (in IDR).
maybe, i would think to leave farmville now.

  136. stone Says:

MORE FARMCASH ITEM LOL TOO EXPENSIVE GAME TO ENJOY LMAO

  137. John Says:

I can imagine people leaving the game, since it is NOT reliable to always load and sometimes it doesn’t load your neighbors (so how can you visit their farms). And the Farm Cash is definitely a big factor–it is too expensive and keeps going up. I know Zynga needs to make money, but they could easily sell some ads and make revenue that way and at least lower the price of farm cash.

And yeah, after level 70 and mastering all the crops, what’s the incentive to keep playing!?

And it is sooooooooooo annoying that every single Tuesday night and anytime updates are being done, there are ALWAYS major loading problems, out of syncs, etc..

Each time a player gets annoyed, it takes some of the fun away until eventually there is no fun left.

  138. JewelTones Says:

I think it would be totally beneficial to add levels beyond 70. Zynga mentioned they were coming ages ago, it’s the simplest fix, and yet we still haven’t seen them.

That said… I think people leaving is a combination of things:

    1. Boredom. People get tired of games and move on

    2. Intrusion of real life. Stuff happens.

    3. The game just doesn’t appeal to everybody. You try it, you don’t like it, you stop playing.

    4. FACEBOOK! The horrible things Facebook is doing from the changes to the way *all* games have to handle gifting and the horror that is Group Similar Posts just makes it way more awkward and frustrating to play

    5. Better weather. We’re not locked indoors anymore. The snow is gone. Bring on the fresh air!

    6. Return of favorite TV shows. People are watching that and spending less time with their computers

    JT

  139. stephanie Says:

I think alot of people have gone as far as they can go. after level 70, all you are doing is collecting coins and experience. I think there should be special awards for those of us who have maxed out. Zygna needs to make it worth coming back to. I do not play any other games than Farmville. But I am getting bored. Co-ops are already getting old. Collectibles are getting old. Add new co-ops, collectibles etc.

  140. lizzyhock Says:

I’m staying, despite all the things people mentioned above, and yes my farm is a bit crowded too. When Zynga gets the new Zynga Game Network site ready to play farmville, outside of facebook, I’ll gladly go there, to play!

Addicted to farmville! LOL! I’ll follow it to the end of the world wide web, if I have too!
    Lizzyhock

  141. Marcus Says:

there is no question about it to me the only reason there is is that now in almost every zygna game u have to use ur own cash to get sweet items in the games for instance the FV dogs, if there were no items that cost FV cash or petcash or facebook credits then people will play because they r for coins

  142. FBnote Says:

People are leaving the game for a variety of reasons, but the primary reason is because the game has run its course for the majority of players. Thousands jumped on board when the game started a year ago, it caught on fire and it seemed everyone was playing. Many of us, especially the level 40+ players, are now getting bored with game and it is time to move on.

On the other hand, Zynga needs to focus more of their attention to basic game play. There is very little incentive to go beyond level 40. For example, to grind through 10,000 experience points and get a reward of 1 FV dollar is ridiculous. To grind through endless harvests to finally get a mastery sign is ridiculous. To grind through hundreds and hundreds of harvests to reach level 70 is totally pointless. If there is nothing to gain, other than so-called bragging rights, what’s the point.

We are getting tired of all the promises and endless ‘unreleased items’. Notably the buildings with purpose. Many things that players want can only be acquired with FV dollars – it can quickly add up to ‘hundreds of dollars’. The best standalone computer games on the market rarely exceed $50 – these games represent serious and challenging game play for a modest investment. Not so Farmville – it’s charm is in its simplicity, and of course its social networking. I’ve read hundreds of excellent suggestions for improvements to Farmville, but Zynga rarely listens. The game has a number of aggravating limitations that limit the fun in the game (e.g. buildings and many items can not be rotated).

We all have to remember that game development for these types of games are designed to make money – game development will follow whatever formula that maximizes profits, regardless of game play and player frustrations. I briefly tried a few of the other popular Zynga games and the game play is the same monotonous grind, and of course they also require a fat bank account to purchase items. None have the appeal that Farmville does.

For me, it will be a few harvests and I will call it a day – maybe I will stick around a little while to see if the winery gets released, maybe not. I have to remember to take a picture of my farm and frame a print for my wall – just to remind myself of the incredible amount of time I spent on the game – when I should have been doing something more productive!

  143. Momma Says:

I am getting kind of bored with Farmville. My farm is pretty full. I have millions of coins I can do nothing with – they release nothing cool to buy with coin, instead leaving 90% of major new items to be purchased with FVcash. Don’t get me wrong, I do that from time to time too. But they are about to lose it all if they don’t give me something major to do with my coins. No more expansions either. I am nearing the top – what’s left? Nothing.

  144. Rogue Robot Says:

I think that a good summary of what the vast majority of people are saying is: Farmville has lost it’s mojo and people are getting bored. In the end Farmville wasn’t a phenomenon, it was a fad, to be placed on the same shelf as the rubicks cube and the pet rock.

  145. Atochabsh Says:

I agree with all posted so far. But to reiterate….

    1. Need an exchange rate between coins and FV$s. I know everyone needs money today, even Zynga. Making people pay cold hard cash for FV$s is their way of generating income. But obviously its not working since people are leaving the game.

    2. When they introduce a new function it would be so nice if it worked without glitches. So more testing before springing it on the FV community.

    3. Something needs to be done to expediate the fertilizing of neighbors’ crops. I would like to visit everyone’s farm to fertilize but it takes nearly two hours a day to do so!!! And I only have like 70 neighbors. The going back and forth and loading times makes it too much of a chore to fertilize.

    4. New mastery crops at different farming levels need to be introduced and old ones removed. So a warning that you have X days to get mastery on say…..strawberries and then its gone. Replaced by something different.

    5. We need bigger farms. If you want us to plant to quotas for co ops and have tons of purchased “stuff” then we’ll need bigger farms.

  146. Chili Willi Says:

I have backed way off from playing Farmville because I can’t even get the game to load half the time. Then the big waste of time when I try to receive gifts and there’s nothing there except a note telling me that I’ve already gotten this item when I know I haven’t. Then the time wasted because it is constantly out of sync. Also, the fact that my farm is as full as it can get and still look like a farm. We need bigger plots. A second farm might be okay but I’d rather have a bigger single farm so it’s all on one page. Last but not least, the money required if you really want to have fun with your farm. I’m just about over it all. A few more nights of nothing accomplished but hours of wasted, frustrating time and I will be all the way over it.

  147. Zubin Says:

Another thing annoying farmers is zynga’s policy of trying to unnecessarily cut people down to size for no reason. Over the last 2 weeks i have noticed that people who get and post alot off collectables have only been getting the free collects in return…That is green plume emperor gloves etc… a similar thing was dome on zyngas poker game where they kept resetting gamers accounts of those who went up quite a few million and lost all their players.

Also Farmers expect to see a whole lot of Farm related gifts in udates and not the crap that is constantly brought out each week, we want assorted farm animal like roosters, rams etc etc, nobody want 50 types of colored sheep and cows and elephants and tigers they arnt farm animals

  148. Tarrah Says:

It’s too slow!! The seasonal items last too long, the themes last too long, there are no new crops, the levels are slow, the glitches are annoying, the problems are annoying, the expenses are annoying, the useless team buildings are annoying, the fact that they are so ignorant and greedy is insanity, the fact that gifting is so slow, they act like people take this seriously, they think that we are a thing. They act like we are insignificant ants that are willing to buy the cash. I SAY WE DON’T!! LET US ANTS, EAT THEIR DONUTS!!!

  149. blackhumor Says:

Doesn’t anyone else is annoying from the fact of the speed?

The farmville has became REALLY slow those days. When I need over 30 minutes to plow because of the loading speed that is a major factor for me to go to another game and play something else…

  150. Solitaire Says:

Also we are still waiting for the horse house and the daily farms to get bigger and add more animals in there….

We are waiting to have bigger farms, because if you want to add some of the buildings (not all of them) them you will not have any space to plow…

  151. Roli Says:

    Why are farmers leaving??

    1. The game is becoming a chore. Take for example the many clicks and page loads just to get a bonus off from a neighbor/friend feed and for many more obvious reasons.

    2. The annoying glitches and OOS errors that plague players after every update.

    3. For the past month and a half…. the VERY SLOW loading time of the game…. even if you play via farmville.com of which promises an enhanced gaming experience. Playing on the fastest PC with the fastest net connection does not make any difference!

    4. The limited 24×24 land area. Yes, they might have expanded storage capacity but are items just meant for storage??

    5. The level 70 cap. Many farmers become semi-retired once they reach this level.

    6. Redundancy of items released. People are conned to buy the supposedly limited items (LE) for FVcash… but heck these items will be seen again in a month or so. Zynga apparently does not know the meaning of LIMITED. Moreover the re-release of the same item/animal in a different color! Aww cmon stop it already!

    7. The shaky partnership of Facebook and Zynga which obviously affects the game.

  152. Miranda Says:

I was a FV addict for a long, long time. Have reached level 70 a long time ago as well. But still I played, because I thought it fun and had some nice interaction with my neighbors/friends.
The reason that I play a lot less (only harvest, plow and seed) is because of the Similar Posting. For me, a lot of fun was in the social aspect of the game, and now this is gone. I don’t even bother poting “thank you’s” and Collections anymore, because most neighbors don’t even see it (when you have a lot of neighbors, it’s impossible to show All similar posts, click, click again “yes I really want to collect 150 coins, go back to to FB, click again on similar posts, etc.) , let alone leave a comment with that post.

If Zynga would decide to choose another platform for FV, without FB that decides how my posts are shown, I will def. play more again!

  153. Naddel Says:

Well, a lot of my friends stopped cause its becoming too much, constantly new things, like the co op and all this, i mean, not all of them are bad, but really its a big change when u see how it started and how it is now. You have to play everyday up to everytime for beeing up to date. And even me, I consider to stop FV cause its getting warm outside too, So of course you realise that this kind of game AND the summer cant work together too. Sometimes I even have the feeling that Zynga is playing around a lil with things to MAKE u addict. Well, dunno for this, but plus: Since Facebook has its new system for the feeds, its even more bad. I guess all the reaons together make Farmville loosing players…

  154. rva Says:

i’m tired of the game, reached level 70 and the excitement of levelling up is gone.they should continue levels with cool item or mastery item every level completion.

  155. Florian Says:

who wrote this biased argumentation? People are dropping out because the game is only about farmcash and profit, and you cannot really enjoy the game without spending enormous amounts of farmcash.

  156. May Says:

I know why people are leaving!!! i am just at the verge of quitting,,, it is because Zynga is making many bad decisions!..i dont have the time to list all,, i will list 2:
FIRST: I was working towards star masteries, had all the math sorted out, and out of the blue, they changed many of the number of crops needed without any consideration to us players.. some we worked so hard for became so easy to others and some we havent accomplished yet became even harder,,, SECOND: releasing so many updates without clearing all the glitches,, as an example I started a co-op job and harvested ALL seeds but some did not count toward the completion,, as a result we lost the gold medal.. I can go on ALL day,, but i will stop here for now :)

  157. lorena Says:

everything cost farm cash now. it’s a completely different game if you buy farm cash or not. it’s not fun anymore… now i have to worry about shelling out real money for a facebook game and it isn’t worth it. a lot of my friends have stopped playing because of this and I’m about to stop as well.

  158. Joe Says:

i don’t understand why people are confursed that farmville. every good item costs farmville cash. it takes way too much time to harvest animals and trees. these new buildings such as the horsestable, greenhouse, and nursery that require 50 building materials annoyed me. it takes way too long to complete those

  159. cm punk ses Says:

People are leaving because its just boring ….

  160. Pebbles78 Says:

1). They don´t care about issues
2). I´m missing my farmcash for about 3 weeks, and got no help from the support (I wrote 2 E-Mails to them), and I ´m NOT the only one…
3). The “coming soon” messages for months make them noncredible
4).No space for more items, but new buildings etc in the market, most for farmcash
5).It`s soooo tyring waiting til the farm finally loads.
6). The weather? I´m not sure, have they lost farmers last year, too?

I love the game, but I´m really irritated about issues and not getting help or infos when they (for example) “steal” my farmcash. WE ALL made the game as popular as it is now, and they don´t care about our problems with the game?
Come on, I don´t wonder that so many players have quit….

  161. Vitor Says:

    ok i belive the
1 reason is to many problems in the last few months
2 to many playeres finish the level 70 and now dont have more levels
3 zynga give us to many staff, but dont give us more space to plant, 26*26 or 32*32 is a good ideia for now
4 put all the new itens in fv cach is not a good ideia, the best way is put in fv cach and in coins ( is more easy for us win 500.000 coins than 12 fv cach

i belive if zynga hear us, maybe return to win players and maybe dont have to many people stop play farmviile

  162. Grant Says:

So many wishes from people…time for my wishlist: I would love to have a “harvest all ready crops” function or a “plow all harvested fields” function. Like the arborists or farmhands. Would save lots of time. And I would like to have a night-function. So illuminated stuff like lantern tree or lanterns in general and all the christmas decoration make some sense.

  163. Katie Says:

Well I was considering leaving FV when I got to the 70th level, its lame how xp doesnt seem to grow and I dont see why they dont expand it…and other thing is that so many stuff are payable with FV cash only…if they dont do something about it, i’m deffo leaving

  164. Katla Says:

Maybe you should pay attention to the problem that last weekend and before it has been possible to get items like the stallion, kelly green cows, etc. through a hack. Zynga deletes every related post to this in their forums, I have seen this myself. Because it is the result of sloppy programming I guess there is nothing they can do about it now… so they just delete anything about that. everybody I know has now a white stallion, all the ponies, etc… that really freaks out people who pay actual money… I am very disappointed that farmvillefreak.com didn’t research and adress this just like Zynga policies. It is a huge issue and you should pay attention.

  165. nita Says:

    THERE ARE ALOT OF REASONS
    1. EVERYTHING GOOD IS FV DOLLARS NOT JUST 2 OR 3 DOLLARS BUT 20-60 SOME DOLLARS.
    2. EVERYONE’S FARMS ARE GETTING FULL AND WE CAN’T BUY MORE STUFF WE HAVE NO WHERE TO PUT IT. MOST PEOPLES STORAGES ARE FULL TO.
    3. TO MANY BUGS OR OUT OF SYNCS.
    4. TAKES TO LONG TO HARVEST TRESS AND ANIMALS.
    5. FARMHANDS AND THE THING FOR TREES SHOULD BE COINS.
    6. THE GAME IS SLOW LOADING ALOT OF TIMES.
    7. THE WEATHER IS GETTING WARM AND PEOPLE ARE DOING MORE THINGS OUTSIDE INSTEAD OF SITTING IN FRONT OF A COMPUTER.
    8. PEOPLE ARE JUST GETTING BORED WITH IT.

  166. Lnb Says:

FV has become increasingly annoying. No one wants to be annoyed.

Management seems to be totally unresponsive to complaints, I mean major ones … not the stupid whining from some.

You can’t ignore people, not to even acknowledge the complaint without people getting pissed off. That’s why people leave. All the glitches, loading issues, excuses of “Beta” …… blah, blah, blah is not cutting it. If everything in FV was for coins and not FV$ then you can blame it on Beta all you want but when people spend their hard earned $$ and spend countless wasted time waiting for farms to load, glitches to fixed, etc. They are bound to be unhappy campers.

Well, Zynga is actually happily cultivating their own crop of disgruntled ex-farmers. I will leave when it passes that thin threshold from “end of day stress reliever” game to “very annoyed getting pissed off all the time” game. Happy farming Zynga.

  167. Claudia Says:

    Zynga:

    Love your games…period!
I would like to suggest to review all co-jobs because I find the job but can join ….this job failed,,,etc,,, I am pretty sure the problem is the end of FB responsibility but we need to go on….
I will be #1 client of 7Eleven and my family too….we are in total 10 farms!!!

    Success for your new challenge!!!!

    Claudia

  168. Anonymous USER 171 Says:

It’s because manors and every item you need cash and apart from levelling up there isn’t any free way to get cash and every farm of the week isn’t even alike a farm. They’re like towns. I’m also gonna leave. EVERYONE LEAVE FARMVILLE. THEY ARE RIPPING US OFF!!!!

  169. Claudia Says:

I sincerely think are three reasons:

    - Fv’s. The best things can only be purchased with Fvs
-The fact that many people no longer have room in the farm
-And summer. good weather is coming.

    Thanks :)

  170. Kirsten Says:

Perhaps if Farmville didn’t rely so much on Farmville Cash, it wouldn’t be losing so many members. We have TONS of coins just sitting around and nothing to spend them on!

  171. Tia Says:

Just to make sure I sound like a broken record along with these people…
There are too many things on the market for cash, people can’t spend all their money on FV cash just so we can have the cool new items every week, it ridiculous when we have millions of coins piled up. It seems like zynga got money hungry once people started putting money into their farm and now thats why they price everything so high. Also, not enough room on my farm, I am out of storage and places to put things. I also have glitches sometimes, I lose out on gifts quite frequently because it will just not even show up in my gift box….it all becomes frustrating and I won’t play for several days at a time, when I used to be addicted to checking my farm many times throughout the day.

  172. Jan Says:

First, I have not read all of the comments, sorry if this is a repeat. The obvious, in my opinion, it is spring, the weather is great, hopefully people get outside to do “stuff”, you know walk, ride a bike, work in yard, etc. Also, farmville has its problems. Takes FOREVER to load, gifting and receiving gifts stinks! So many things are $, not enough good stuff for coins, then when you have the harvesting done, or rearranged, or …the farm goes out of sync, or saving, then you have to redo everything. That gets really old.

  173. Ezekiel Says:

I am thinking of leaving. I worked really hard to build a stable, and nursery. One day my chicken coup, dairy farm, stable and nursery just disappeared. I e-mailed Zynga about this and they basically said tough s#*t, You need to rebuild, there is nothing we can do. it is their faulty game that led to the items disappearing, but they were pretty callus about my concerns.

I understand they developed the game to make money, and I have bought Farmville cash to purchase items in the past, but this bad attitude from them could be one reason that folks are going elsewhere for entertainment. Franklin there are plenty of fun games out there that work a lot better.

  174. Franklin Says:

First off the game is buggier than a slum house in summer. Secondly everything cool costs FarmCash and buying it is expensive. Seriously $5 for 25FVcash! That won’t even buy a frigging lake. Who has the money to spend like this in our economy. I mean junkies spend money they don’t have, but can responsible people afford spending tons of money on a game that may or may not be there tomorrow? Also, Customer support is terrible. My friend lost four buildings. They just vanished. Chicken coup, stable, nursery, and dairy farm. Two of these take many days and a lot of work to get. They didn’t care. Basically there answer was, “this is the world’s smallest violin playing my heart bleeds for you, now bugger off: we can’t replace anything.” So yeah, I might be joining the big exodus. There are plenty of games out there that aren’t as buggy and don’t cost near as much to play.

  175. Franklin Says:

Oh and one more thing. A real, fully developed high level console game costs around $50. For a small fee a lot of these games can be played on social networks. I am talking hours and hours of unique play. Zynga charges $50 for 310 Farm Cash. You could buy 4-6 decent items for your farm with that kind of money. That is a huge amount to pay for a poorly performing, buggy, unreliable gaming experience. Farmville is cute, but just like some cute girls, sometimes the hassle isn’t worth the investment. They need to rethink their pricing structure before millions more leave. Perhaps Mark Pincus is wrong in thinking this is short term. I believe he is. I have been playing for two months and I am already bored and frustrated at the poor quality of the game.

  176. levanoa Says:

I have left farmville, because OF FV cash!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wanted all animals of farm, but I don`t have money ALL the time for FV cash……………….. I still love farmville……. sometimes I visit this cool site! ((((((((((((( I LOVE YOU FARMVILLE!

    P.S I left farmville 1 month later

  177. larry Says:

Famville is a great game the reason i feel people are leaving is that once you hit level 70 thats it, the size of the farm is getting to be to small and you have to pick and choose what to keep because you run out of room. It gets hard to do that when you do spend your farmville cash on those items. I bet if you allow the levels to open back up and you can expand your farms again more people would be willing to stay.

  178. ameenoosh Says:

we do not need more decoration we need to expand garden shed dairy we need also to transform foals and calves … we need more crops

  179. Villemar Says:

The ppl at Zygna have just dumped way too much content at the expense of stability. I was locked out of the game for almost two weeks, and now I can finally get in but I cant visit any neighbors.

If you are a serious collector you need to spend tons of FV cash to complete just one theme, and even then there is no room on your farm to put it all (storage should be at 500+, not 200). Not to mention, you dont have the option to store animals and trees that don’t fit in with your current theme (ie. Why are there perguins on my Southwestern desert farm?)

There are too many nonessential buildings and decorative collections that just consume too much time and busywork for the reward (ie. Maison, Botanical Gardens, Dutch Windmill, Co-op rewards, etc).

In short once the game becomes a tiresome chore and loses the “fun factor” then people get bored and move on.

This game used to be a fun little diversion now its just a jumbled mess.

  180. Skotsbox Says:

    level 68
First off I think this article is rather biased
and only tells one side of the coin
    as for the game itself
I kind of liked the show similar feature I think it allows you to use Facebook for both
    games and social networking
I don’t have the glitches that most of you are constantly complaining about
it seems to be a problem that people have who have a lot of neighbors
and only use Facebook to play the games and have no real friends on their
(this portion of my comments has been censored because it is mean and rude to these people)
I have 75 but they are actual people that I know in the real world
I do have glitch about the farm taking a while to load
go figure it’s a flash game so that goes without saying
it’s going to be slow on any platform especially once you start adding a lot of stuff
    building the decorations etc.

  181. Rachel Says:

The game is just becoming too difficult as most of my neighbours are abandoning farms & no one gifts anymore. I refuse to add people I don’t know to facebook purely so I can get gifts & building parts. Maybe if we could somehow add neighbours withou having to add them to fb?

  182. Lorraine Says:

I have to agree with everyone, but my problem is I’m disable and have a hard time sitting… I can’t spend an hour receiving gifts when I have 60 gifts to receive. I don’t understand why there is two places to receive. On your farm or in your request box. It is stupid… whichever way you receive you have to go to the other and ignore those. One or the other, but not both Please… I used to enjoy redoing my farm, but hate the idea that in order to more a tree a tiny bit I have to harvest it. Well, maybe I don’t want to… they do not give me the choice and I’m one that do not havest my trees I just love them in bloomed. Plus, I have purchased FV cards from 2 different 7/11′s and they didn’t work so I had to take them back and get my money back. How can they put something on the market that you can not use. I have some FV cash to use up, but once it’s gone I will just leave my plots empty until them make FV better like it was before. I know some people have a lot of stuff on there farms and I’m not knocking them, but us that have designed our farms don’t want everything under the sun on it. I also wish they would put the better items where you can purchase them with coins, but they save them for the Farm Cash and put the junk out there for coins. It is not right… and I will not be putting any more of my money in Farm Cash until they make the site better and give us more land or a second farm like Farm Town has… I have 3 farms and they are all different… I hope they will listen to us and make FV like it was before or they will continue to lose more players… All Mothers have a wonderful day tomorrow… God Bless!

  183. Susan Says:

I agree with many of the comments above. My #1 reason for getting frustrated is that I am out of room and almost out of storage space. Out of room means no place to put another barn that would give me more storage. And why buy ‘stuff’ if all you can do is stick it into storage?? Expansion would be the answer to a lot of people’s frustrations. Expand the farm size, expand the dairies, expand the stable, expand the storage buildings…. My #2 reason is the same as others, the constant interruptions of Out of Sync errors, Invalid URL errors, Saving Your Farm messages, Flash crashes, and just slow loading in general. It takes me over an hour to fertilize my neighbors’ farms and sometimes I can’t finish because I can’t get back to farmville – or if I do, my neighbors all say “Loading…” so I can’t get to their farms. Re the FV $$ vs. coins issue, I have no strong feelings – if you don’t want to spend real money, then don’t! There isn’t any room for all the neat stuff anyway. I am still addicted, but it is getting a little boring. After a few co-op attempts, I quit doing that entirely, and am not particularly interested in the market thing – if it ever comes. Oh, one more thing – I did the botanical gardens because I thought it would be a ‘useful’ building – maybe a place to store flower decorations, extra trees, etc. But it turned out to be just a decoration that takes up a huge amount of space – which I don’t have! Expand, expand, expand!!

  184. Mark Says:

I don’t mind all the new stuff costing Farmville cash. However, they should allow the old items that cost cash to be available for coins.

  185. Sue Says:

I play less when the weather is nice. When winter comes I’m sure the number of people playing will increase as it gets colder outside. I like the co-ops and am interested in what the market is going to add to the game.. It would be nice if we could have multiple farms like the Farm Town system. That would solve the space issue.

  186. Sasi Says:

My family always plays online games more during Winter, so weather impacts our FV time a LOT.

Also, me & my friends are all at 70 & I hardly see some on anymore since the competition was driving us (friendly competition!) The friends & neighbors are the only reason we keep coming back…but all the problems loading, etc…GRRRR, sometimes I am simply too tired after work to get on since I know it will result in more frustration instead of relaxation.

Love that we can store more, but wish barn capacities were raised instead of making us waste more space adding barns & sheds.

Summary: MORE LEVELS…fix performance…and allow is to spend coins. Is therean echo in here?

  187. nicole Says:

its all this cash crap, its pathetic how they expect people to practically spend their lifes income on farmville

  188. Trish Says:

While Farm Expansion sounds totally wonderful (I’d love it…level 70+ player). However, with all the Problems the Game has been having of late…Farm Expansion anytime soon would probably be the death of this game. We all know how long it takes to load our farms now….can you imagine how long it might take if our farms were larger and even more crowded?

I just have a feeling that Hands Down…the customers (we the players) probably wouldn’t have any problem at all if the developers (zynga) would just take a week (or two if needed) WITHOUT releasing anything new and FIX EVERYTHING THAT IS BROKEN!!! (and, Of course this should go without saying…don’t break anything else in the process! )

  189. Phenomenal Says:

FV offers too much stuff and not enough room to enjoy. I don’t mind to delete many things, but even so I find myself having to make a choice between crops or items. If they are not going to allow us to expand our farms they need to create bldgs. that store hundred(s) of items–not just 20ish. It gets to the point where I just find myself not interested. I have noticed my neighbors drastically cutting back on their farming as well and many are adopting other games.

  190. jodi Says:

I agree that my farm is full as well. I have the largest available & have been on just 5 weeks I am 100% full & still want many things. They need larger farms . I also think the economy has alot to do with it. It is hard to play when you want things only to find out you have to buy farm cash to get them. We left webkinz world for that exact reason since all the good stuff was pay at the store. My kids always wanted the stuff & couldn’t understand we had to pay real money for it. It is really dissapointing but you ahve to eat before you spend money on games . They need to place focus on maiing some of this good stuff available at farm cash 7 not always making the good stuff cost money & the junk farm cash then more people would be playing !

  191. Franklin Says:

Buggy, stuff costs too much, bad customer support, and boring game play. Really, you need to ask why they are losing so many players?

  192. FarmvilleGirl Says:

You know what? It is so obnioux how Farmville thinks they can rip us off. It is really bad. Everything is a rip-off and Farmville Cash is hard 2 get. I play Petville and Fishville and they gave me 10 Sanddollars just 4 playing. Yea……. I would like to see Farmville do that.

  193. Alexandra Says:

Another level 70 player here also, but I hit 70 before all the collections and co-op farming led to XP inflation and bumped so many folks up to level 70 overnight – did it all the hard way (except perhaps spend a few million coins to level up the last 6 levels and I still have millions)

So, while it’s fun to profit from all the fast XP, there is nothing to aspire too once you reach the end-level and not one status symbol to buy with all the coins. At this point I wouldn’t even mind spending 10 million coins on some super cool building that only a few of the neighbors have – remember the time when you wanted to be the first to get the villa – gift the olive tree – gift the buffalo?
You busy yourself with completing the ribbons, trying to put as many collections out there in one run as you can, you finish off some more masteries ..

Instead of expanding the farm and have people junk them up even more, perhaps they should give different locations (one home farm and additionally kind of like having different islands that one could theme differently) – now that would be neat.

Whilst I was pretty much slacking off collections anyway, they took all the fun out of them with all one can get are ladybugs, gloves, needlepoints, green feathers – just so not worth it. While in itself it’s not a reason to leave the game it just adds frustration.

and the rest … been mentioned a thousand time over again in the thread

  194. Yohannie Says:

I must agree with a lot of the feedback already posted. I love farmville more than any other game however I believe the motives for leaving famville are the following:

-The constant glitches are killing the gaming experience.
-To make matters worst some of the “improvements” made for the game are not helping at all. Constant uploading of pages, confirming gifts or posted items in feed.
-FV should add another farm just like in farm town. I have so many items and no space to place them.
-I need to agree with the need of adding more items available for coins. It’s pointless to have millions of coins if you can’t spend them. Moreover,in this economy neither I or my friends can afford to be purchasing FV cash.
-Farmhands and Arborist should also be available for coins. Mostly FV users are adults with families so we can’t be online for hours at end on a game.

Finally the storage issue. Yes, you can have 200 items in store however you have to buy several buildings compromising the space you have available. I will prefer to purchase a far more expensive storage building where everything fits in. Not to mention that in other games you can store up to 99-100 items at no additional cost and without compromising the space you have for plows, animals and buildings.

P.S. Farmville experience may also improve if they change to HTML5. That way us with Mac and Apple products can have a better gaming experience.

  195. kinderko Says:

Hi. Maybe I’m a one of the 4 million people.. Farmvile was changed. All things are slowly only for FV. Not everybody have 30 € for xxx FV cash.. It’s all

  196. Kay Says:

    TWO REASONS HANDS DOWN:

1.) College kids – its the end of the year, people have finals and a ridiculous amount of work.

2.) It’s actually nice out! Who wants to sit inside and play farmville when it’s like 70 degrees outside!

    END OF ARGUMENT.

  197. Jennie Says:

Because the farm is tooooo little. Need the double. Or more!!! Its not fun to play when you cant use the things in the barns because the farm ist to little. And everything cost FV :-( To much errors.. And so on,…

  198. Goosey Says:

I was using farmville everyday at one point but over the last month or two my farm takes too long to load and even longer to plant, harvest or plow. I’ve pretty much given up on it for that reason. I’ve bought 2 dogs and lost them both because of problems with my farm and even paid the 3fv cash to get my 1st dog back but won’t be doing it again. Is anyone else having this trouble with their farm?

  199. Matthew Says:

    wheres the mobile payment gone!!

  200. Jan Says:

I think it’s all been said above, for me it’s too SLOW to do anything and just plain BORING lately. No new expansions, tons of big building from FV and/or Co-ops prizes. No new levels, bored being stuck at level 70. The developers don’t seem to listen to the players wants.

  201. jessica britt Says:

as has been noted, I can afford cash and most of my friends can not, like them i have a large stash of coins, with little exciting things to purchase = so they have left game, this particularly is true of my younger buddies –
and then i start to feel funny being able to buy cash and have cool things and they can not – ruins the innocent relaxed fun of the whole thing

farms too small at a certain point to use all that is provided, i would love to be able to make my farm/village larger

more help harvesting trees and animals – takes to much time and I do still enjoy the game

  202. John Says:

i watched in the news how somebody steal 5 million profiles and passwords in facebook. I think it’s because that, but that’s my opinion.

  203. Ali Says:

maybe it’s because they have kids, pets, friends, a life.

  204. chris Says:

I think people are turning away because it is getting so slow to do anything. Also you can’t get any good animals except for cash. FV should have a feature in the market where you can trade in a certain amount of coins to obtain FV cash.

  205. ronnie Says:

Now we cant farming ..we are just planting spesific corps because of new rebbons ….. l put my all houses and my chateau and my pools to my barns .. cause l must plant many corps why??? because of co-op farming.. and now l dont like my farms look … so boring ..l wantto plant pink carnation but l cant do that .. why ??? because co-op …

l want to plant what l want ….

  206. The Taminator Says:

-FB doing Group Similar Posts made it too difficult to get bonuses. Then Zynga added another click to get them. Seems insignificant, but both made me back off to doing 2 & 3 day crops only & waiting for my FV$ reserves to run out before I quit. Annoyance the First.
-Game takes forever to load & is full of glitches, out of sync, etc. Annoyance the Second.
-Really nothing to look forward to after level 40. Annoyance the Third.
-Too many things for FV$, not enough for coins, amount spent can be more per month than a console game or complex MMORPG, etc. Annoyance the Fourth.
-Gifting is a CHORE. Annoyance the Fifth.
-Not enough room and/or storage space. Annoyance the Sixth.
-Too much clicking for harvesting. Annoyance the Seventh.
-Zynga doesn’t listen to player frustrations, problems, customer service is atrocious. Annoyance the Eighth.
-Repetition in Mystery Boxes, can’t keep baby animals after paying FV$ for adults, can’t rotate some buildings… little things mean a lot. Annoyance the Ninth.
-Spam/malware groups popping up ALL THE TIME & dozens of invites to these scams. FB?FV don’t do anything about them. Annoyance the Tenth.
-With all the non-functional buildings, collections, bizarre animals, it is no longer a FARM. Annoyance the Eleventh.

We now have more annoyances than Star Trek sequels. It’s not worth it. When my FV$ is gone, I’m gone. I think a lot of others will be gone much sooner.

  207. thomas Says:

simple, once you hit level 70… the need to play dies away. You can keep mastering items and that’s about it. Zynga just keeps doing dumb things one after another.

Some people are complaining about stupid stuff here. You don’t have to click on “bogus” apps. Only morons who can’t tell the difference get suckered in to them. Harvesting is one click now. People get mad over farmville cash. If you don’t want to use real money, then, DON’T! When people don’t use farm cash, they will know they have to change things.
And loading issues are the worst!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  209. Cindy Says:

I have really slowed down purely due to speed and errors, also I need more levels as I am at 69 now. The collections have just been so hard to get with the grouping of items – so easy to miss. hopefully if Zynga goes to Zynga live this might fix some off these issues. I must say it is becoming a little unfun at the moment. Unlike the trend though I hated the new treasure game – gone back to zoo world

  210. Ginny Says:

I can tell you one reason is because we can’t expand anymore and are running out of levels…I have run out of room, my farm is full. I would love to be able to do an area using the new southwestern theme but I don’t have the room for it. Plus the fact that everything worth having needs bucks and not coins. It is a game and I am not spending hard earned cash on a game.

  211. Sharon Says:

I totally agree with Ginny , I do not want to waste my hard earned money on these pics of items …hey …there not real items .
But other farmers have purchased fantastic market items and there farms look great !
I cannot compete without spending money …so I am quickly getting bored and I can never make my farm look as good as theirs…not without spending real bucks…
I along with other FV Friends are looking around for another game …
I must admit I would continue with FV if they would introduce a way for me to aquire these great items without spending my real dollars …hey could find a way for us to earn FV Cash or charge us large amounts of FV Coins…
They are not playing fair …
I can only surmise they only want the farmers with real money :<(

  212. Franklin Says:

I think the tumbleweed decoration is a harbinger of the future for Farmville.

  213. Jim Bray Says:

Is everybody at Zynga and Farmville stupid…A lot of people are leaving Farmville because of the inconsistency of being able to play the game…I have not been able to plant anything at all today…Market nor gifts will open…game won’t load…takes several refreshes to get there and then the ability to plant a crop is non existent…neighbors not loading just a whole lot of malfunctioning things with the game and people are getting tired of it…

  214. Franklin Says:

Perhaps we should call it “Scamville” or “Farseville” or “Lameville”

  215. Dan Says:

I don’t care about the FV cash that many are complaining about. You don’t need it to play the basic game, and I don’t have a problem spending real cash on a game if it provides value. Just because this is on Facebook and you can experience it for free, doesn’t mean everything about it should be free! I have purchased many “shrink wrapped” computer games in my life and had no problem spending real $. It helps fund the company that developed the game you are enjoying and allows that company to improve it over time.

Some aspects of this game were truly fun, innovative, and interesting, while others completely missed the mark and quickly became annoying. I don’t think Zynga really cares how the repetitive, mindless postings of every little thing that happens, makes their users look like fools and is actually anti-social. I don’t think they are all that worried about the actual game play or user experience. It’s all about up-selling. They are doing everything possible, and some of it is very negative, to generate awareness and find new users to replace the ones that quit. They are a young company, run by a CEO that has set the bar for ethics pretty low. I won’t elaborate, but it’s all out there if you spend some time on Google. (Make sure you watch the video of him explaining how he made money by forcing users to install toolbars.)

My guess is that most of the Facebook user population either has the Farmville posts hidden from their newsfeed, or the user hidden, or worse has deleted someone that was excessive with their Farmville gifting or postings. I’m a level 70 on Farmville, have never published or posted, and have done all of the above to other friends that let this game rule their world.

Every game has a lifespan. It was fun while it lasted, but almost all of my friends have let their farms go dormant. It’s probably time for me to do the same.

  216. Vikki Says:

For me being a Level 70 player, there is not alot to “chase” no new levels and no new bonus FV $

Mastry is where i am at now but not many more of them to go either

Kinda getting tired of plant, plow, harvest,

I would love to re-decorate much more but cannot afford to part with many $$ to buy FV cash especially at current exchange rate offered for my $ :(

I suppose i will just plod along until the mastries are completed after that will prolly slide out of Farmville and onto something else

A shame tho cos i really have enjoyed playing this game.

To sum it up ofr me it appears Zynga want out with the old players and in with the new ones!!

  217. julie bertonazzi Says:

    1. Not able to expand farm
    2. Too many items require farmville dollars
3.Not enough ways to get farmville dollars
    4. Level stops at 70 then there is no longer a challenge to keep playing.

  218. Kerri Says:

There are several reasons I’m not as into this game anymore. It’s mostly because ribbons are so unattainable now. It used to be fun trying to win these little challenges, but as soon as they made a ribbon for opening mystery boxes, the whole game changed for me. It’s an impossible ribbon unless you are willing to spend so much actual money. The ribbons for mystery eggs and prizes from your horses are also so difficult to achieve. It’s just not fun. Also, I can’t even continue decorating my farm because everything new costs FV cash. I have millions of coins and nothing to spend them on, so what’s the point? The ONLY reason I keep playing is to master crops and they keep messing around with that too. This game has become a chore.

  219. Tobin Says:

ACCORDING TO ME COLLECTIBLES ARE EMERGIN TO B MAIN REASON THT PPL R GETTIN FED UP WITH FARMVILLE…AND NO COMPLETE COLLECTIBLE SET MEANS NO FUEL AND PPL DNT PREFER MANUAL PLOWING….. AS EARLIER WE CUD SHARE WITH 10 PPL…THEY REDUCED TO 5 AND AS OF NOW WE CAN ONLY GET COMMON…WAT A CRAP THEY DONT REALISE THAT WE CAN GIFT THM TOOO…FV HAS GONE OUT OF MIND….MOREOVER FARM AREA IS LIMITED…THEY INCREASED STORAGE BUT DO THEY REALISE WHERE WILL WE KEEP BARN/SHED…I THINK NO……THN SOME MASTERIES GOT AWFUL LIKE WHEAT AND ARTICHKES TO NAME FEW………FV CASH IS ANOTHER ISSUE AS PPL LIKE MYSTERY BOX BUT CANT AFFORD THEM….SO ZYNGA PPLZ LOOK INTO WAT I SAID

  220. Миљана Says:

I was totally addicted to FV and I thought that I will never stop playing that game… LOL
And I stopped for 2 days, and I didn’t want to go back because life was nicer without it.
Now I don’t miss FV, and I am happy.

  221. surya FV freak Says:

@Jen:There are many features coming soon that will cost as much as villa.I don’t know when will they release but it WILL spend all ur coins
so save em’ up as much as possible

  222. Carol Says:

    Theyv lost more players !

    OVER 2 million !!!!

There is now only 76,163,082 monthly active users !!!!!!!!

  223. Meghan J. Says:

I simply stopped playing because I know that I NEED TO GET A FREAKING LIFE. I used to stare at this computer screen, harvesting. planting, plowing, over and over and over again. Everything is now only available for farm cash, and none of my neighbors buy animals that breed calves or horses. No point in playing. Seriously, what’s it going to teach us? How to take care of virtual plants?

  224. Iva Says:

    We don`t have space anymore.

  225. Anthony Says:

this is why I stopped playing!! I do not live next to a seven eleven, and as such I stopped playing, blocked the game and the people who live around seven elevens can have it! I like all other users who have been looked over after playing for so long have choices too we can make! The part that I don’t understand is why Zynga is allowing the codes to be sold at places like Ebay, making the codes even harder to find as the people and workers at seven elevens resale them, and grow rich. When all they would need to do is sell them at cost for the product on a website of there choice, or even let seven eleven do it!

  226. scott Says:

while farmville is pretty much the same as always a few factors will continue to cause problems and a decline in users

1st is summer of course as people will tend to stay home less

2nd is Zynga bad choices =failure to fix common bugs, increasing prices in everything ‘nothing can be bought anymore for less then 5 real world dollars’,and stupid updates that noone really cares for

3rd is the more you add to your farm the more lag you get and farmville already causes more lag on a typical computer then running 5 other facebook apps at once since farmville will double your memory usage while sitting idle

and last but not least the longer farmville is established the more people will get higher lvl buy everything and get bored with it no game can last forever

  227. terry Says:

I only need to find out how to get my account credits so that i can use them on my farmville …. ITshows that they r there but i cant get them on my game aswell as pay pay i lost $80.00 dollards in two days and im mad because no one has a number to call to see how to put my credits on my game or even to get my money back… if some one could help me i would be soooo happy …. ty

  228. Sue Says:

Its too hard to get FV cash – and I resent the game wanting me to spend money to play.

I’ve had enough of it – it takes too long to make it through the levels – too long to get cash together to buy anything decent – and I am sick of having to add neighbours to progress further.

It has changed from a nice game – to a money making machine.

I haven’t actively played in ages – can’t be bothered planting any more crops!

  229. jessi Says:

I THINK THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IS THE MORE NEIGHBORS YOU HAVE THE SLOWER THE GAME RUNS ITS B.S. AND TO DELETE THE NON ACTIVE NEIGHBORS IS A CHORE BECAUSE THE PAGE DOES NOT WANT TO LOAD. ZANGA NEEDS TO FIX THERE SH*T AND STOP MAKING SO MANY ITEMS THAT CALL FOR FV CASH AND PUT THERE FOCUS BACK INTO GAME PLAY.

  230. capri Says:

Loading issues is a common enough problem, and instead of more storage, why not more space so I can show my other items that I would love to display.
Farmville is starting to become like Yoville in that it’s also becoming mostly FV cash, my farm coins are piling up cause I have nothing to spend them on.
What about all the missing buildings players have been affected with including me? I log on to notice I have my stable disappear and have to purchase it and start all over again. Where is my compensation for that? At least when the Nursery barns were taken away, players received 100 FV cash.
I still can’t receive a Blue ribbon for They of mystery. So frustrating!!
I have many more complaint’s but I have better things to do then list them all when Zynga is very well aware of these issues.

  231. Jenny Says:

I am level 172. I have a lot of neighbours between 100 and up…. I have one neighbour level 700+
I dont understand you people that say you’re stuck at Level 70????
also spend your coins on belted cows…. loads of xp and you will leve up a lot faster

  232. Jenny Says:

the game does not end at level 70…. I’m level 172 I have many neighbours that 100+
one neighbour is in the 300′s another in the 400′s and one massive neighbour in the 700s and increasing daily.
spend your coins on belted cows… loads of xp you will level up real quick

THE GAME DOES NOT END AT LEVEL 70 !!

  233. Chris Says:

Lately, Farmville had expansions and quests that are just plain crazy to complete.

The English Countryside was one that was a hit, having elements of
role-play within it. I t was a good one until it ended at August 31, 2011.

After that, the quests and the various props started to fly at the player
like it was machine gun fire.

Sadly, that was when Zynga, the company that created the game, looked
at the players with an avaricious hunger.

The quests involved using FarmVille Dollars to get ahead or to purchase
land for said quests, rendering FarmVille Coins almost useless.

Then, other items like a Pet Run, a Zoo, an Aviary, and a Livestock Pen came along.

All had extremely short time limits and frustrating quotas that made
many players quit either out of frustration or out of knowledge that
Zynga was being too greedy for their own good.

And then, FarmVille released Lighthouse Cove.

It gave some players the option of paying 55 FarmVille Dollars for
a sneak peek while those who didn’t have the money chose to wait
    for the release date.

The players realized that expansions for land at Lighthouse Cove
required FarmVille Dollars only. Those who did realized that they
could only plow a limited amount of land, unlike the farms of their
home lot or English Countryside lots.

And quit is what I had done. Zynga will never get another dime from
    me ever again.

  234. Jeanne Says:

There’s too much having to pay FV cash. Have a lot of neat stuff but no place to put it. And then you go and have us do more crafts and we don’t even have room to put the craft stuff. Keeps going out of sync or when you’re sliding the page to get where you want to go it then goes to a white page or blue page or whatever. It’s so frustrating and I’m losing a lot of wonderful neighbors because of it. It’s not fun anymore like it use to be. It’s more work then anything. Come on… bring back the fun.

  235. will Says:

The game is too slow and unstable, and has been almost the entire span of the game. They introduce more and more items on a daily basis, (now four farms, each with huge expansions) but can’t seem to make the game playable? WTF? I’m still waiting for them to fix the first farm! I haven’t been to my main farm in months. I’ve endured Farmville, Zinga and Facebook for over two years and I’m done. I already left that horrible cafe world last summer because of speed issues. Then there is the endless popups, the miserable news feed confirmations, the on-going gifting situations, posting problems… I’m on a quest now with the timer running out and I can’t post for help to construct a required building. I am quite aware of what some of the causes are and who to blame, and my main suggestion would be to cut the umbilical from Facebook. Facebook is the worst site on the net and only gets worse as time has gone on. And they only make Zinga look bad. Everyone by now is aware of Zinga and Farmville. Do they really need Facebook at this point.
I dropped out of FV last Summer and just for grins tried to load my farm today. I ended up leaving the pc, made a sandwich, ate it while channel surfing and finally, I was in my main farm. And yes, I’ve cleared my caches, tried a variety of browsers, checked for worms and viruses, etc… I even installed two more gig of ram. My ram useage with nothing else running was 981mb. I attempted to visit four neighbors till Chrome locked up and the ram spiked at over 1500!! For a single flash game? Ridiculous!
Maybe, just maybe I will check in again this Summer, but I doubt it. Continuing to be frustrated over this silly game would be moronic.
