@Stascia – when your farm is loading, watch the status bar at the bottom of the window. If you don’t see a status bar, click “view” and then “status bar” to make it visible . Mine says “fb-tc-1″ when my farm is loading. Hope this helps!.

I used to stock up on farmville cards on Sunday’s so I’d have free darts to play the mystery game.. but there hasn’t been a mystery game in /months/ that I actually got excited about… c’mon, zynga, make it cool again, plz!!
what happened to how the mystery game USED to be?? The “backyard” stuff, or any of the waterfalls/water features, or how about having the mystery game coincide with the current freakin theme?? Rather disappointing

This really ticks me off. Other than the trees the only thing I wanted was the fountain and it’s in the mystery box. If I knew for sure I would get it on first hit I would do it but I’m not wasting the last of my FC on stupid darts!

I dont think it matters what server you are on , Im on server 3 the top far right balloon is a kitten the bottom far right balloon is the alpac and the bottom left ballon is the deer , dead center was the kitten and the 4th row 2nd in was the humming bird , guess it depends on time and luck

I don’t know if the server matters. Look at this.
In comment 67, OPO says that they found the kitten in R1C1. “white kitten in row 1 column 1, Red Balloon.”
In comment 77, Wendy says she found a fountain in R1C1. “Fountain – R1 C1″
They both say they are on server 0. Is anyone else on server 0 to confirm what they got in Row 1 Column 1?

This week’s game certainly has cooler items offered. Personally, I’d love to have the fountain, hummingbirds and fawn. But I’ve boycotted the game and I stand firm. Too much risk for too much money.

I thought I’d try something different for once and actually graph results, just because I’m sick with flu and have nothing to do but mope. Also, last time I watched these boards I noticed conflicting prizes on same reported servers. Anyway, I wanted to share my findings so far, and, well, it’s starting to seem pointless.
According to five different people who are on server 0, R1C1 has so far given 1 Alpaca, 2 Fountains, 1 Yellow Unicorn, and 1 Kitten. Not very hopeful, as far as sharing results goes.
Also on the same server 0, R3C3 has given 2 Hummingbirds, and 1 Fountain.
Other than those mismatched results are these;
R4C2 2 Alpacas,
R5C2 1 Kitten,
R2C2 1 Fountain,
R3C4 1 Yellow Unicorn,
and R4C4 1 Fountain.
Based on this either people are confused about which server they are on, or we’re going about this wrong and server number isn’t the difference of boards.

I’m on server 0 according to the status bar and checked a lot of times coz from what I’ve been reading here, my board is not the same with ANY of those that posted that they are on server 0 too.

Still thinking if I should STILL try for the fountain coz that’s what I really want aside from hummingbirds. I have all 3 unicorns from before and found this yellow one really ugly but I still got it by mistake!

On my previous post I mistakenly typed R4C4 was Fountain, when it was instead reported as Fawn Deer. Still it’s clear that people are having different results on the same servers so there must be more to it, maybe there is a rotation based on time? *shrugs* Only Zynga knows. They certainly must get a kick out of us trying to figure it out though.

Everyone has the same colored balloons, no matter what the server. My mother and I are both on server 0 but I’m thinking it doesn’t really matter.
She found:
R3C3 – BLUE – FAWN
R3C4 – GREEN – KITTEN
I found:
R1C5 – BLUE – FOUNTAIN
She really wanted the Unicorn but no luck. Me on the other hand I really wanted that fountain and got it. I screwed up my (only) shot… Or so I thought. I’d meant to hit the blue balloon but I was nervous and slipped? Thought I’d hit the white board instead and poof went my FC. But it hadn’t popped the red to the left of it so I centered back on the blue balloon, shot and got the fountain. Gosh am I relieved!!!! I feel really lucky. I’ve screwed up shots before but still got lucky. In the past I ended up with the White Stallion, recently the Mongolian horse and now this. I still think the mystery game stinks and have heard of people popping every single balloon and finally getting what they wanted on the very last balloon. This time, 16FC/shot that’s 400FC. Not from my pocket! I know Zynga needs to make money but the mystery box is nuts. Guess I am too, lol, but just a little.

Reading so many comments on different results it was like just do it and if I lose well it’s not like I do it often enough anyways. It’s only the 4th time I’ve done it and last time I had 4 free shots. I’d read someone somewhere (Raylene) had R1C5 fountain, someone else popped a blue one and found it so I just went for it.

Based on everyone’s posts, it looks like the server doesn’t really make a difference. Although, I think since there are only 4 servers (0,1,2,3) maybe there are 2 or 3 possible boards for each server?
Thanks to everyone for posting their servers and locations of items. I think in some cases it really can help people.

Well I don’t think it’s the server that really matters, it’s the board set up you end up with. Some people’s will match but the server’s will not. It makes sense that they have a handful of boards and they just get randomly distributed.
I am server 1, not that it matters, and I got the baby alpaca dead centre. I really wanted the kitten though, so a bit disappointed. And a yellow unicorn? Seriously? The first one was awesome, then the candy cane one was a bit weird, the pink one was ok but yellow?! I think we need to be done with the unicorns now or else come up with a totally different design. Releasing the same one in every colour of the rainbow is just stupid and money-grabbing. Do another pegasus and make it look like the mythical pegasus. That would be more interesting than a yellow unicorn… sigh.

I hate this game! I’ve been avoiding it for a very long time, but finally broke down & spent $10 on FV$, because I figured that I’d be very happy with any of the prizes except for the alpaca. So I shot 1 dart at the center balloon & got – the alpaca. I have no faith in the server theory, because when I was trying for the white unicorn my 1st try gave me something else & everyone said if you got x there the unicorn is here, & I tried a second shot & didn’t get the unicorn. Maybe it does shift with time as well as server. I’m debating if to try once more. With my luck I’ll get another alpaca.

Okay, I clicked on every different balloon that people said the unicorn was in, I got about 4 fawns, a couple of alpacas and a flippin fountain. I also got a kitten dead centre blue balloon and top row first red balloon was a hummingbird. I obviously have a very different board again.

I think I got the same board layout as #83 (thanks, that’s where I found the Unicorn) and #73 and possible the same as #64.
So I got: R1C1 – Fountain, R1C1: Unicorn, R1C5: Kitten
Maybe I’ll try for the fawn later in R5C1 – if someone will confirm that.
That server theory is just crap, I’m not even gonna bother mentioning which server I’m on.

I keep seeing people mention their free darts. How do you get free darts?
I really really want the fawn but I’m not risking getting the unicorn (because it’s hideous and looks to me like it needs a good scrubbing..the color is just off) or the hummingbirds because I got that last year and I would be totally ticked if I got another one. Very pretty but I don’t need two. Bummer when they add things to the game that I already have one of!!

I never paid attention to the whole server issue but mine says “FB-TC-2″; I got the yellow unicorn (R1C1) and the white kitten (R3C3/middle).. not too sure if the balloon colors match but you can reference my previous post #25 for that info! Hope it helps someone!!

BENTEBABY@95….i am having the same issue with my darts and i have already tried what Ebbie suggested(thats the way i’ve always used my darts)but no luck for me either….i contacted Zynga and was given free darts,which was nice of them to do but hasnt fixed the issue…so i now have 4 darts instead of 2 that i can’t use…at least it’s not just me i suppose LOL

FreyjaSilver…..they are currently giving away free darts when you purchase a farmville game card…this does not work if you just purchase farm cash within the FarmVille game….the amount of darts you get depends on the dollar amount of the card you purchase….i should ammend myself…if you purchase a gamecard within the game(and then send it to yourself) you also recieve the darts…hope this helps.

It’s random. Servers make no difference and the ‘board’ is the same for everyone. Zynga just code so that when something is clicked one of the items is randomly selected
Occasionally this will mean two people get the same thing – coincidence

I HATE the mystery game! I refuse to play it other than using free darts from game cards. It is the biggest rip off ever! I would only ever play it again if they limit the number of times you can win the common prizes. I’d rather pay extra to buy an item outright than to keep shooting at those stupid balloons and getting the same crap multiple times.

So all together I popped 11 Balloons. Being a collector I sometimes see items that I want. Whether I’m on your server or not I really appreciate all the help from you all. When playing this ridiculous game I try to make a somewhat educated guess, but in the end isn’t that what it really is? A guess. After all the latex carnage I ended up with:
4 Kittens
4 Alpacas
1 Unicorn
1 Fountain
1 Fawn
That means I have 3 extra Kittens and 3 extra Alpacas: Hmmmm what to do? I wish ZYNGA would let us re-gift these items in fact I wish ZYNGA would let us re-gift all unwanted items.
By the way I’m not rich, but understand this that I would rather piss away $25 on FC then to loose it down the drain at a local club or bar, literally.

I think I am on server 0 not sure that matters or not but I have found the 2 rare items in the same 2 balloons for the last 4 weeks R1C1 (red) Unicorn and R1C2 (green) Hummingbirds. I had seen a post where someone said they were always in the same balloons and so far for me that has worked. Good Luck!!!

Unless things have changed, ppl who are on the same server can still have different game cards. Hence the reason it is important to add ballon color to the description of what you post. Has this changed? I didn’t play for about 2 months, but I know for a fact that some ppl could be on the same server, and have different game card.

The notion that its truly random, or any item can appear behind any balloon is incorrect (and people with zero knowledge on the subject should not be making these kinds of statements).
Given that there are 15,511,210,043,331,000,000,000,000 possible combinations with 25 balloons, it would not be efficient to code all of those combinations. Anyone with any experience with asp.NET or C#.NET will tell you this. This also means that any given two people would only have a .16% (that’s POINT 16% not 16%) chance of having any two items in the same place on the board; yet it happens much more frequently than that.
I don’t believe the Server makes a difference though. In the past there seemed to be roughly 6-10 different boards. These boards were shared on other sites based on what was in middle dart and the top left hand corner. Zynga seems to have caught on to this. There now seems to be twice as many or three times as many boards. Other sites have a much more extensive sharing of what appears on the boards. My board has always matched up with at least four to five people. And I always see several groups of people with matching boards. If Zynga was really coding over 15,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 combinations, as someone continues to falsely claim, there would not be so many matches.
As for the breakdown of items:

So after reading all comments, I have to agree, I don’t think the server seems to matter. I played during the holidays and got lucky fniding someone’s board that matched mine, and I got all the prizes I wanted….this time though, I thought I found a match, and some shots were the same, and oher shots weren’t. However, I still think posting where we find stuff is very helpful….so with that said, these are my findings, I hope they help someone….

Cynthia, there’s some people that aren’t worth wasting your time on. No matter what you try to tell them, they get something in their head with no evidence or basis of proof, and they will continue to spread it around (and even type it in CAPs as if it somehow makes it more legitimate).
If Amanda had any knowledge or background of asp.NET or C#.NET she would know that for the mystery game to be truly random, you would need to code every possible permutation. With 25 balloons, you have a total of 15,511,210,043,331,000,000,000,000 possible combinations. Simple logic tells you that the benefit received through additional revenue from dart sales does not exceed the resources required to code and store in the server each one of those 15.5 SEPTILLION combinations.
Also, with the number of different possible permutations, that means there would only be a .000000000000000000000006447% chance that any two people would have the same board. Yet, for every mystery game that has been issued, you find multiple people with matching boards. I personally, have either matched my board with one person or more on every mystery game or had other people match their boards with mine. If the boards were truly random, the probability of this happening even once is a near impossibility.

I’m trying to think how they might work in a kitten feature one day… maybe like the wandering stallion there might be a stray cat who has the chance of knocking up one of your cats (maybe more like the pregnant pig – but without the only applying to inactive players thing… did they just disable that?) …then different color kittens that you can put up for adoption? that might be cute!

I have discussed this with someone who knows what they are talking about when it comes to extremely complex computer programming.
Of course its not set to run every permutation – ie FarmerDan’s ’15,511,210,043,331,000,000,000,000 possible combinations’ – it doesn’t have to to be a random selection.
It can run a much lower permutation and still be random, ie there is no pattern, no server duplication of boards, etc.
For instance out of interest I looked through the posts on this game. I am server 2 and had the kitten on the centre balloon, one other person on server 2 had the unicorn and another the hummingbirds from the same balloon, no-one else recorded the kitten from it.
I had the unicorn at R3 – C5.
This only matters of course in that it is misleading to encourage people to think that by following the results others got they may get what they want. Its a game of chance, the results are random. Play for fun, as is said with all gambling decide before you start what you can afford, and stop when you’ve spent it. If you are lucky you will get what you want, and if you are not you won’t. If you don’t like the odds don’t play at all.

I’d like to thank everyone for their input about where certain items are on the different servers, and especially Farmer Dan, post #111, I got all the 3 items (Unicorn, Alpaca and the fountain) that you mentioned on the exact spots you said. I am on server 2, by the way.
Again, Alpaca R3 C3 dead center, Unicorn R5 C3 and R2 C2 fountain.
Would be eternally greatful to anyone who has had this same item layout and knows where the Fawn, huming birds and/or the kitty are seeing as I’d really love to get all the items from this mystery game, yet I really don’t have that much farmcash to spend so duplicates and all that would not be very welcome.

#71 Jules – THANK YOU!! the only thing I wanted was teh humming birds, and after figuring out that you can only see your server if you go to farmville from facebook and not from farmville.com, I looked on here and saw you said “server 2 humming birds in the middle” and I had a free dart so I went for it.. and got the humming birds!!!
Now I am kinda tempted to try for the Unicorn… but I do already have teh white one. Although it might be good to test this server theory and see if it holds up again… too bad everything else out of there, besides the unicorn, I don’t even want..

Well I am on server 2 as well and my results are quite different to both of you, as yours are different to each other.
In the centre balloon I got the kitten. – Goncalo got Alpaca and Reincloud got humming birds
R5 – C3 – I got the Unicorn – Goncalo got the Unicorn.
So no matches for 3 server 2 boards.
Goncalo I found fawns at R1 – C3 and R4 -C4 – but there is no guarantee you will even though we are both server 2.

I am on server FB-TC-1. For those who don’t know, the server you’re on shows up (very quickly and then disappears) in the lower left-hand corner of your browser screen on the launch page for FarmVille as it’s loading your farm.

I code in both asp.NET and C#.NET.
If its not coded with every possible combination, or 15,511,210,043,331,000,000,000,000; then its not a true random selection. A true random selection, by definition means that you have a possibility of having every single different permutation.
Your own statement, “– it doesn’t have to to be a random selection”, and “It can run a much lower permutation”, in itself proves the point that there are a finite number of boards, which based on estimates on other sites may have been roughly 12-16 when it was first introduced to anywhere from 48-64 (possibly more) now.
There are patterns, and with the finite number of boards, people will get the same board. The servers that one is on is meaningless. Of the number of possible boards, someone on 0 could end up with the same board as someone on 2; and vice versa someone on 2 may get a different board than someone else on 2.
There are other facebook pages dedicated to mystery game results. There were a number of posts with people that had the kitten on the center balloon across different servers. If your basing this site as your only sample of reference, its too small. Interestingly enough, I have one person on here already that’s verified their board matches mine. Again, the probability of that based on a true random sample is nearly impossible.
The only one misleading anyone, is people like you and Amanda claiming that its ‘truly random’ and ‘everyone’s boards are different’.
The fact is there are a finite set of boards, and unlike a true random distribution, there is a reasonable probability that your board will match someone else’s. Or at the very least, the location of the rare item will match that of someone elses. On the facebook mystery game site, there are two others that match my board exactly, and another six that had the yellow unicorn in the exact same location as mine.

I remember there was like a post from zynga about the server number, set for friend ID number. Mine was server 17 (as I known) and this was introducted for mafia wars. I think.

@Farmer Dan, if you know about it, how would you know in such coding of asp.NET and C#.NET? I would like more details of knowing whats behind the since of the game and what up with these “revealing” to know which one it is (like the unicorn in the mystery game) I’ve heard about. I have no work with asp.NET and C#.NET, awhile I’m already studing Java, Visual Basic, and VBA during my college for now.

OK, I’m really going to bed now – but for kicks I just “pet” the kitten that I put right in front of my farmer, it jumped up really high a few times & disappeared for 30 seconds, but then returned. thought you’d want to know. & I have some tall grass in front of the fawn & the movements make it look like it’s eating it. “nght all. i’m sure you all have better things to do.

I’m not sure about this whole server thing. I went through and made a list of what everyone’s been saying and it’s not adding up… People are getting completely different things in different places regardless of the server. For instance, server 0 – someone mentioned fawn for the 1st red balloon (row 1, column 1), someone else said kitten, and someone else said hummingbirds. So either the server idea doesn’t work or people are getting their rows/columns mixed up.

The issue of whether there are same boards out there or not can be easily answered. I’m not a programmer, but I am a math teacher (trigonometry, statistics, calculus).
By definition, a true random distribution would require that every permutation be possible. Meaning that for a factorial of 25 or n=25!, gives you 25*24*23*22 . . . .*1.
It is a true statement that if the 15,511,210,043,331,000,000,000,000 possible combinations do not exist, then its not a true random selection. That would mean that there are a finite set of boards available.
Several things that I do agree with Farmer Dan on,
“The notion that its truly random, or any item can appear behind any balloon is incorrect”
“that any given two people would only have a .16% (that’s POINT 16% not 16%) chance of having any two items in the same place on the board; yet it happens much more frequently than that”
and finally,
“I don’t believe the Server makes a difference though.”
How many different boards are there? I tend to believe there were fewer boards when the game first game out. I was having a very easy time matching my board with that of others when the game was first introduced. Were there only 6-10? Who knows for sure?
There definitely seem to be more now. I’ve had a much harder time matching boards with others, but I have still managed to do that. If a true random distribution really existed, then a .16% chance of matching any two items on a board with someone else would seem to indicate that the matching of boards would almost never occur. Yet, I’ve also personally matched my board with others and observed others doing the same.
If you perform a search on Facebook, you’ll find a number of pages dedicated to this mystery game, and matching going on all the time.
I also obtained the following based on what another player published on one of the facebook pages:
R3 C3 = Unicorn
R2 C2 = Hummingbirds
R4 C2 = Fawn Deer
Interestingly enough, this also matches what at least one person posted on here.
Based on the matching among users that does occur, I would say that there are a set number of boards, who knows maybe the 36-48 different combinations does exist, maybe the number is higher. The only thing that would be random would be which board you get. Given a finite number of boards however, matching will occur. In all of those respects, Farmer Dan is correct.
Statements such as:
“It’s random. Servers make no difference and the ‘board’ is the same for everyone. Zynga just code so that when something is clicked one of the items is randomly selected”
and
“It can run a much lower permutation and still be random, ie there is no pattern, no server duplication of boards, etc.”
. . . .are incorrect and actually contradict one another.
For a true random distribution to exist, then every possible permutation must be potentially available. If you’re claiming that a lower number of ‘permutations’ is being used, then you are saying that there is a limited sample size of different boards, meaning the possibility of duplication does exist.

im on server 3 and got the hummingbirds which was the only thing i wanted on my first try c1 r4 green balloon far left row. I use the site HELP MYSTERY GAME for my info. You have to ask to join then can click right on your server. There are still varying boards even on the same server as I learned with the last one but I lucked out this time, probably because I wasn’t dying for the unicorn. But search Facebook for that page or copy and paste this

if that works, not too tech savy, i find it very interested. The person who started it lives in Italy so many of the posts are in italian but he has a simple number system that does cross language barriers. Hope this helps.

First I hit the center balloon and got the fountain and since my rare the last 2 games I played was in R2 C4 I hit that one next since it matched her center & Unicorn placement and had been my lucky spot. Then I hit where she got her baby Deer and got it. That was 3 matches and I wanted a kitten and tried where she found hers and got a Alpaca baby in 2 spots she had found Kittens so my next idea was to try where she found her Alpaca and then I got my Kitten so it was a match till the last 3 balloons. Out of 20 boards that had a fountain in the center I was able to eliminate all but 5 with a few darts. I would still like the Humming Birds and another Baby Deer if anyone is sure there board is a match to mine.

people, people, just trying to do my part here…
Servers have nothing to do with it. The fact that 2 people with the same server, and get the same thing is purely luck. Please bump this, so no more people get disappointed. I am on server 2, and seriously I have seen all servers post what they get…and Even the same servers that i have doesn’t match…. matter a fact I have yet to find someone with the same board as me….
So some advise, just take the shot,,,,,, i have gotten more that way anyways! Just by my own luck,,,,

I get the same issue with my free dart that popup says not enuff farm cash if i have depleted my supply, but u just have to click the cancel button on it and u can throw your dart like normal. Its kind of awkward to hit it tho and u have to watch as u kind of drag ur mouse down a bit and u will see the button dent in – thats when u can click ur mouse button and it will hit the cancel button an then u are ready to throw the dart. Hope that helps -

Ahhhh hemmmm ok so I tried the server thingy everyone is talkn’ bout and nada! So based on my experimentation wasting two pops I got the following :
Row number 5: fourth balloon which is color yellow: stinkn’ Humming bird
Dead center: Blue balloon: stinkn’ kitty cat
No thanks ha…I wanted the yellow unicorn. It never fails! I always get exactly what I DON’T want when I play the mystery pop game…it’s just like da friggn’ lotto!
