Several FarmVille Freaks such as FarmVille Freak Ian have reported that while visiting their neighbors farm they receive the following notice about a different FarmVille neighbor than the one whose farm you are visiting.

FarmVille Fun Notice
If you click the green “Accept” button it will post a Facebook News Feed share to the inactive neighbor’s wall. The notice as seen below let’s your inactive neighbor know that they haven’t played FarmVille recently and that they are missing out on all the fun.

Posted on March 14th, 2011 at 4:06 pm
Very nice sentiment, but please try fixing some of the other problems first, such as loading issues and limitations. There are more important things to add besides that. Btw love farmville

If this is automatic this is just WRONG.. None of anyone else’s business who my other neighbors are. This is why I hide my friends listing on FB!

*Hint *Hint
Nice to see thanks given to the person who sent you the information about the new developement.
*Hint *Hint
PS: This crops up EVERY time you fertilize any neighbors farm who is also a neighbor of said ‘absent’ farmer. Yet another potential annoyance!!

i havent seen that yet, but i thought thats what the truffle-hunting pigs are for, to post on neighbors walls who dont play FV much or at all to try and get em back into playing!! LOL
Posted on March 14th, 2011 at 4:16 pm
A small number of my neighbors are inactive because they are very, very ill. Assaulting them with this is extremely rude.
Shame on Marketing people.

STILL DO NOT HAVE MY MODEL HOME, CAN YOU PLEASE SHAKE THEM UP FARMVILLE FREAK, EVERYONE IS GETTING GOOD PRIZES, AND I AM GETTING NOTHING.
Posted on March 14th, 2011 at 4:20 pm
One of these notices was just posted on my husband’s Wall by another player. His Farm is inactive. The really enraging thing is that MY name was included in the post too. It said: “John Doe and Julie S. (my full name) miss you on Farmville. WTF? It makes it look like *I” am the one who spammed my husband’s Wall. NOT COOL. Not cool at all. >;-<
Posted on March 14th, 2011 at 4:22 pm
I guess this is the kind of tactic you have to resort to when you’ve had a net loss of over 36 million players.
Posted on March 14th, 2011 at 4:23 pm
I have and have ignored it. My inactive neighbors don’t even check their farms anymore so probably won’t get the notice. I wish FV would give us an easy way to get rid of those farms without having to terminate them as facebook friends. They are a nuisance to us and just waste space on FV servers. I refuse to hassle them to come back to playing. They have made their decision for whatever reason and who am I or FV to question their decisions.
Posted on March 14th, 2011 at 4:26 pm
I stopped playing for a bit and came back to the game so hold tight to your inactive neighbours it was when I had reached the top level and I just lost interest but I am back now and enjoying it
Posted on March 14th, 2011 at 4:44 pm
Oh, great. MORE feed spam from Zynga.
Posted on March 14th, 2011 at 4:49 pm
I Aint Seem It :S
Posted on March 14th, 2011 at 4:54 pm
I think this just sucks. If people start and game then quit playing for whatever their reason is, that’s their business. If they wanna come back and play they will, but spamming them is dumb. I’ma just click the X and close the message without spamming anyone – bad move Zynga!
Posted on March 14th, 2011 at 5:06 pm
I will be ignoring this request..if neighbors don’t want to play they have their reasons…we have more than enough pop ups as it is when playing already!!
Posted on March 14th, 2011 at 6:24 pm
And here I thought we finally got rid of those annoying pop-ups, but low and behold they are baaaaaaaaaack1
Posted on March 14th, 2011 at 8:51 pm
this is ANNOYING, like every other popup that is a hinderance to the game experience! end of story.
Posted on March 14th, 2011 at 9:01 pm
I had this pop up didn’t know what it was just x-ed it off and went on about my business. I don’t think the people it suggests you to tell them they are missing out on the fun care so whats the use to waste your time to share it with them. I mean if they thought Farmville was fun they would be playing. . .just saying. I think Zynga is wasting their time with coming up with this why not just focus and reward their players and thank their players who are devoted. . lol

Contact Customer Support and tell them you refuse to be a shill for Zynga.
Demand that they stop using your name immediately.
Threaten them with legal action under section 8 of the User Agreement. Tell them you demand arbitration under section 8.3 and tell them you want monetary and other compensation, plus legal fees, for damaging your good name and reputation, due to their lie and other inappropriate and misleading use of your good name. They know full well that what they said was a lie, and that you never agreed to have your name added to their marketing scheme, as an endorsement.
Do not let them get away with this.
Just when you think they won’t stoop any lower, they come up with this falsification.
For one thing, people who stopped playing likely had a good reason for doing so. Many undoubtedly quit because of the incredibly buggy software, the crippling feed limit, and the speed cap/throttle crap, among other issues (note I didn’t even mention the failed FVEC, and I won’t). Why would they come back just because their neighbors allegedly “miss” them? And what happens if they find out that the neighbors don’t miss them at all, and that it was just another lie from Zynga? Another lie, right up there with “under investigation” and “coming soon.”
I bet they will feel a lot like Stouffers, who fell for Zynga’s marketing scheme, only to find it backfired internationally, and generated tremendous bad will. How can any advertiser fall for that nonsense again?
Zynga was already a most excellent case study for business school students, and it just keeps getting better.

Pushing us to involve more people and get more neighbors is good business for Zynga, but I resent it. I am not going to hassle people who have lost interest — it’s usually because they simply can’t afford to spend real dollars on the game. I hate spending the time necessary to get the pigs to hunt and then only finding a fraction in truffle — it goes to someone who won’t share back.
Posted on March 14th, 2011 at 10:26 pm
If they’re inactive, there’s probably a reason and spamming them would be just plain bloody rude. This is just another piece on the pile of irritation when trying to play FV.
Posted on March 14th, 2011 at 11:25 pm
They treat us like dirt, yet they want favors from us which is to annoy friends and family whom have turn they’re backs on farmville, I for one am not gonna be treating Zynga for the things they’ve done to make me mad these past few days, months, even years! >:(
Posted on March 15th, 2011 at 6:00 pm
Zynga ought to think carefully about why all those people left and change their ways.
Posted on March 15th, 2011 at 9:09 pm
Great just what we need more spam from Zynga!
Posted on March 15th, 2011 at 10:45 pm
Screw off Zynga! Do your own recruiting!

i have seen this notice now, but it only shows if the person’s farm u are on is a mutual friend of the person they would like u to play/be active again, so its not really invasion of privacy showing the full names of the ppl involved in the post. one thing u can do is just not ‘share/post’ etc. Just ignore it…lol

well considering that farmville has had a recent plague of uninterested farmers dropping out of the game??? this doesn’t surprise me in the least.
people on the forums have posted that they are no longer going to be playing.
i’ve had neighbors post to the feed that they will no longer be returning any gifts as they are leaving the game.
have had neighbors requesting to b taken out as neighbors because they no longer play.
most all of them have attributed to all the bull crap. no customer support, loading issues, oss all the time, missing items, missing fc money. OMG you name it the list just goes on and on.
so yeah, lose your players, lose your buyer of fc and you start losing money. so they will play their little games and do tricks to get people back to playing and spending money……
