FarmVille Pig Pens Coming Soon!
Looks like FarmVille might be releasing the new Pig Pens tonight or sometime soon to all you eager FarmVille Freaks!
FarmVille Pig Pen Loading Screen
Earlier this week we saw the FarmVille loading screen teaser above that hints of “Pig Pens Coming Soon”. In Friday’s August 20th official FarmVille Podcast, Lexilicious gave us more specific details about the upcoming Pig Pens.
Here is what we know about Pig Pens:
- There will be a 2 phase process.
- First phase will require a constructable building process that will make a place for you to store your Pigs.
- Second phase will be “Truffle Hunting”.
- Truffle Hunting will allow you to trade in Truffles for new redeemable prizes.
- To get Truffles, you will have to feed your Pigs Slop.
- You can make Slop from Bushels.
- When Pigs eat Slop they can hunt from Truffles on your neighbors’ farms.
- Truffles can be traded for new prizes including new Pigs!
“First up is a feature our community already seems very excited about. Pigpens will be making an appearance in FarmVille in the very near future. Now, Pigpens will be released in two separate phases. The first version of the Pigpens will introduce a constructible building that will offer you storage for any of those poor, homeless pigs you may have running around your farm. The second version of this update will introduce truffle hunting, a feature that will allow you to trade in truffles for new items. To gain truffles, you will have to feed your pigs slop, which can be made from bushels. Once your pigs eat their slop, they will hunt for truffles on your Neighbors Farms. These truffles can be traded for exciting new prizes, including new types of pigs!” (Source: August 20th Podcast)

I missed the splash about the Pig Pen.. Lordy, I wish they would just give us the cellar to work on for tonight.. Get the glitches worked out with it if there are any.. Then give us the PP tomorrow.
BUT I will take it.. lol

This is great! My only problem is, I’m running out of space on my farm for everything!! LOL I’m still too broke to expand to the latest expansion, but I’m glad a pig pen is coming out … just gonna have to make adjustments … again! LOL

haha I remember the loading screens promoting the farmer’s market and the dogs……. it was about 4 – 6 weeks before they showed up in the game. I wouldn’t expect to see it next week, let alone tonight.

About time, just hope they dont do as they always do and oversize the footprint. Instead of a 0.01 it should be made 0.001 using the Windows Graphics layout, that I use. Makes for a cleaner fit of co-located items, not the hodg-poge they have now.

First an underground storage (cellar), and now a pigpen! Great stuff Zynga! You’re heading in a good direction!
I hope you guys could eventually create a building to house sheep, one for goats, and I hope you guys would change your minds, and remove the limit on the number of horse stables and chicken co-ops, because basically all of us have too many chickens and horses running around our farms without order! It’s pure madness!

Nice…but man, I’m tired of the fact that all these buildings *have* to be built with parts from neighbors if you don’t want to spend the $$. I still don’t have enough bees, I’m sure that many still don’t have enough vehicle parts, it’s going to take forever to get enough shovels to make the cellar truly worth while. After a point it’s just too much!

I got rid of all my animals and just have 1 or 2 of everything now apart from barns/stable and coop so probably wont get this but it is very cute!

I am looking forward to this pigpen. but I have a suggestion to make farmville a little better…..could we please gift out of our inventory/gifts. i have completely finished upgrading my vehicles in farmville but have alot of extra parts left over…I would love to be able to gift them to somebody who could use them instead of just getting rid of them. I tried to put this suggestion on the forums but for some reason i could not get on it. thought maybe i would put it here and see what everybody thinks….

Whoa! Not so fast. Give us time to catch up. I’m still helping people who are doing nursery barns, stables, beehives and now we have this big storage unit to dig! Plus the crafting. Doesn’t leave much time for planting, harvesting, etc. like a REAL farmer.

It hasn’t been like a REAL farm since February when the massive themes began. It was nice having a few animals, land, fences, tractors, etc. They should change the title or let us have land connected to our FARM with all the theme decorations on it. How many farms do you ever see that has the stuff seen here? Not in Ohio. We could have only one $$$ set-up and points, coins etc. And gifting neighbors from all the stuff would be a nice option. Just saying! Please do not give any more stuff to build. I am exhausted and don’t have time to help my neighbors or enjoy playing. TOO MUCH GOING ON. I’m done for now!

I have at least 10 types of sheep and goats, but only 3 type of pigs… And can you put piglets in there too?? Even with the expansion, very very tight!!!

This is a great concept as well as the underground storage.That being said i wish they would allow duck storage in the lake. They really missed the boat on that one and would have sold a lot more if they were!

Yay I am looking forward to this.
I just hope we are able to breed with the pigs we have and FV won’t only allow special released ones
I have all kind of different pig varities and can’t wait for this pigpen.
BTW I wanna breed goats, sheep and ducks….gosh I wanna have little ducklings. It would be so cute if they would waddle to my pond and lakes

This is so out of order.
There are approx. 4-5 different types of Pigs.
There is atleast 10 times of Sheep
But both Sheep and Pig’s already have babies.
Therefore they would have to ditch the existing Piglet system. (Lambs have been outlawed for a long time now).
PLUS neither Piglets or Lambs are allowed into the nursery!?

Im glad to see this as i have close t 100 pigs on my farm. i hope that its expandable and that its like the dairy barns and we can have more than 1. I would also like to see the limit on the chicken coop and stable lifted. A goat and sheep barn would be great as well. Most of all and i think everyone else will agree is we need MORE LAND. my storage barns are full of cute houses and buildings that i would LOVE to be abl to “show off” but i just dont have the room.

I made bacon out of my pigs a long time ago.
A pigpen would need a great harvestable to make this worthwhile. Like the “fertilize all” prize that you get when you fill up your beehive to capacity. I’d love to get my hands on more of those!

I agree with Rav (post 24). I hope the footprint is not large. The Nursery is huge. The old coop and cowshed are small, neat and tidy. At least the garage is not too big.

I really want farmville to give us more buildings for bigger animals, esp. horses. Make the horse stable have more expansions. Let us expand the nurseries. Make the chicken coop expand more times!

Would have MUCH preferred a building for sheep, but hey – I will take it. Too bad I had sold off almost all of my pigs! Now I have to try and find more mystery gifts for those ossabaw and black pigs and party pigs….and it is not easy to get neighbors interested in those gifts when they are still working on their beehives, garages, and cellars. I am going to purchase those 1,000 coins pigs in the marketplace before Zynga changes them to cost 100FV$ each or somesuch other ridiculous amount.
I have 200+ neighbors and finished the cellar within 24 hours, but I really feel for those farmers with smaller circles who are still struggling to keep up with all of the new updates that have been flying fast and furious.
Hope those truffles have good prizes!
(And thanks to the cellar, I have plenty of space for this!)

Really looking forward to this – now I can keep more of the Black and Ossabaw Pigs I’ve been getting in Mystery Gifts, instead of just a couple of each!
I just hope, as has been mentioned, storage buildings for goats and especially sheep follow soon after; with all the sheep I’ve got – White, Black, Valentine’s, Easter, St. Patrick’s, Spaghetti, one Birthday, and soon to include the Miner – I could really use a place to store them so I don’t have to get rid of most of them. I already made the tough decision to sell off a load of Black and White awhile back and I’ve still got a heckuva flock!

Pig pen won’t take as long as the dogs did. I have bricks, boards, and nails in my gift box, so I’m good there. Just need the “slop” lol. I don’t have that many pigs, but, will get more lol

I don’t have my pigpen. It appeared and I had no room, was all planted. I dug up enough planting but it is gone. I went to the market and it says it is locked, you can only have one. I DON’T HAVE ONE. Anyone know how to get it back??? Thanks for your help

I think that having the pigs dig for truffles in neighbours farms is so cute and unique.
