Farming in England

  • You can return to your “home” farm at any time.
  • While you are on one farm the other is paused.
  • Paused meaning that all timers are stopped on the inactive farm. Crops will not wither, puppies will not be hungry, and nothing will be in a growing state.
  • A neighbor can only visit the farm that you are actively on.

Village Map

  • Map displays your current progress and that of your neighbors.
  • You can also help each other out by using the Village Map, in one click!
  • Help your neighbors by simply clicking on the “Get Help” button. It will then post a feed to their Facebook wall sharing an item that they need for their current quest.
  • You can help one neighbor per day.
  • As you complete more sections of the map, the shadowed area will be displayed showing the current building.

FAQ

1) Q: Do I have to go to England? A: No.

“The answer to this one is simple. No! You don’t have to complete any of the quests and you can continue on your own farm any time you want. We want you to go to England to experience all the new features, items, and quests but you don’t have to.”

2) Q: Is storage universal? Can I transfer items between farms? A: No.

“Currently, Storage is not universal between farms. Each farm has its own individual unique storage space. Once an item is placed on one farm, it cannot be moved to the other farm. “

3) Q: What about my Gift Box? A: Yes & No.

“Many items stored in the Gift Box can be placed/used on either farm. This includes many decorations, buildings and animals. Unique quest items, collections, and certain consumables may only be used on one of the farms, depending on the item. This also means purchases made from the Model Farm, which go straight into the Gift Box, can then be added to whichever farm you wish. Once you place that item, however, it cannot be moved to the other farm.”

4) Q: Where can I get a ram to start sheep breeding? A: Et Tu, Brutus? Quest

“You can get a ram by starting the Sheep Pen quests on your English Farm; by completing them, you will get you Brutus the Ram, which you can breed with. Other rams can be acquired by purchase in the Market or through your neighbor’s feeds if they are sharing newly bred rams.”

*See FarmVille Freak’s English Countryside Quest Master Guide for a rundown on all the quests in the English Countryside!

5) Q: How come I can’t sheep breed on my Home Farm yet?

“Currently, Sheep Breeding is only available in the English Countryside, however we’ll be adding this ability at some point in the future for players who have mastered their English Farms. “

  1. Peter Boykin Says:

1st maybe? So farm the new farm is cool but still some bugs…

  2. Peter Boykin Says:

So far the new farm is cool… I mean… my English should be better since I am farming in England… HAA HAAA

  3. KQ Says:

I don’t like that one farm stops growing when you’re on the other one!

  4. Doris Says:

I think it’s boring…just the same old farm, nothing new and exciting, and having to build all the buildings again is redundant. Why couldn’t they come up with completely different stuff??? AND, really disappointed that we can’t use our storage items on our new farms…what are we saving them for? I thought that was the point of having a new farm – to be able to use the things in storage that we don’t have room for on our other farms! Anyhow, completely boring, same old, same old. The quests are already getting old…if this is how it’s going to be, I’m outta here. Especially if they continue with pausing our other farm while we are working on EC.

  5. Trish Says:

Being able to use items in Storage on either farm would have been really really nice. That way, we could have “transferred” items between the farms, similar to the Gift box.

And, the Pause thing…..yep…..without these changes, I’ll simply finish setting and staging the English Countryside…then, back to the Home Farm again.

  6. Nick Says:

Still have 24 hours left on my countdown before I can even go. That 35 friends things was the biggest load of B.S. I’ve ever heard of. I have one active player left out of 40 some friends. So stupid.

  7. Trish Says:

oh…after thought…I also like that some items that you can purchase in the market can be used on either farm.

It’s FarmVille afterall…I didn’t expect things to be different on the English Countryside, and, frankly, am glad that it isn’t. If it were “different” — it would be a “different” game.

So far…so good. (well, except for Pausing farms….not so good).

  8. Susan Says:

Podcasts are a waste of time. They just repeat the same stuff, exactly word for word, that you already know from reading it on your screen when you play FV. There is nothing new, and no value added. I don’t need someone to read the contents of my computer screen to me.

The “rich English soil” is a sick joke to anyone who has actually tried farming on it. You can harvest hundreds of plots and not get any bushels. Who would have thought that crop yield would be even worse than on the original FV?

I mean, farming is their core product, yet Zynga still doesn’t know how to make it work.

And if you do get bushels, in spite of Zynga’s best efforts, or the fake pop-up bonus, they still don’t show up in your market.

Ask friends to send you bushels, and you might get 10% of what they send you.

  9. fvzappa Says:

The paused thing is outrageous…. I wish that at least when we weren’t on either farm both would be continuing. I hate having to choose which farm is running while I’m away.

  10. Sheila Gale Says:

I can’t get pass the bon voyage party because the game will not allow me to ask for guest to attend. it just sits there and it is so aggravating that I may stop playing all together. FVC, FV and FVE need to get it together.

  11. Barbara Anne Bonham Says:

My market stall on the EC is missing.
I use Firefox and have cleared my cash, refreshed the page and it still is missing…

  12. Helen Says:

Wow but that pause on the farm we have left is the greatest nuisance ever !! I have decided to not use my English Countryside for now – until Zynga decide to stop this ridiculous nonsense of pausing time on the farm that we are not currently using.
I sent an email to them, pointing out that Farmtown allow four farms to their farmers and that time marches on in the correct order on each farm without this total rubbish that Zynga have going on at the moment. Also that I perceive it as the biggest money scrounging exercise ever ! The clues were there ! The Springcount Down – Instant Grow – only grows crops ! The measly 5 Farmcash to send us on our way to England. And then to discover that our second farm is redundant !!!
Apparently there is such an outcry that Zynga are going to change their policy and quit the pause but oh dear – it is coming soon ! When is anyone’s guess ! In the meantime, my English farm can stay paused, I really don”t care – I am disgusted at the way in which Zynga have behaved.

  13. CH Says:

I hate the pause feature!! I have spent sooo much time and coins on the tree orchards, and now I can’t harvest them unless I neglect the other farm. They need to either make pause an *optional* thing, or allow us to transport items to the other farm. Some of us have already mastered all of the crops on the home farm, but may not want to neglect it because of trees and animals.

  14. Wendy Cundiff Says:

EPIC fail….Why in the hell do we want to start over doing the same things we did like a yr ago. All the same animal buildings( cept for the sheep) The same damn ducks in the same duckpond and having to collect all the crap is a major headache. Still a 200 limit I see???? The Pub?? just another crafting building as aggravating as the original. I thought it would be different witha touch of the old farm. The pause is a disaster, This is not at all worth all the hype..I wont do the other farm..I did it once on the original…JOKE JOKE JOKE

  15. NH0603 Says:

Well Im excited about the new England farm, but im sad that my farm is “paused” if I switch farms. My old farm is where I can make money and have my speciality trees. I think it shouldnt be paused and we should be able to move some of our items (trees or anythings) between the 2 farms. Hope some changes can be made, because I really love farming. Its the only game I really like to play!

  16. Lory Says:

The pause feature is, plainly and simply, BS!

  17. Tonya Says:

I believe that Zygna is going to be removing the pausing. The date is tbd…until then I will be using only the old farm..too bad for the big let down of pausing :(

  18. Carole Says:

I agree that the “pause feature” is confusing and ridiculous. I can’t believe she didn’t even mention that! It feels like 2 steps ahead 1 behind…not happy at all with that. I would probably like it OK if not for that.

  19. jessica Says:

they should have just taken their ideas for new concepts- the Sheep Pen, bigger quests, and redesigning building- and just put the new items in the original farm.

everything else is a repeat, and the pause is some lame bs.
why couldn’t they have made the crops available to both farms for those who dont want to play the english farm?? thats BS, because there’s no new crops for our original farms!!
    SOOO DISSAPOINTED

  20. Rogue Robot Says:

Tried out FVEF and expanded to 24X24, expanded all the buildings to max, and completed all the quests. Now FVEF is on pause until the day they remove the hyper-moronic pause feature. If they don’t remove it and just leave FV to whither on the vine, then I’m joining the 40 million other people who have quit FV in the last year.

  21. Jessica Says:

While i understand the outrage over the pause thing, i don’t mind it that much
yeah your trees and animals won’t grow, but since i can’t transfer my unwithering ring [and refuse to spend 55 fv cash on something that only last a month, so you have to keep buying it]
i think it’s kinda nice that if you plant something you can let it grow as long as you have the online time and then switch when you want it to grow after you slept [or whatever], so it doesn’t wither!
i hope they at least come with something more permanent for anti withering
one last thing, where are the sheep with the stars and such? a million possibilities , only i keep getting the same colors over and over again
and why change the price of the ram from 10 to 30 fv cash in a day!! [and the ewe's were only 5, now 20!] please give some more different [and cheaper] sheep!!

  22. Amy Says:

This is kind of unrealted to the subject at hand, but my model farm is missing! I had it yesterday and then today, no model farm. Is this happening to anyone else?

  23. sandy517 Says:

    http://forums.zynga.com/showthread.php?t=964332

they dont give a s*** about the pause????? Zynga just slapped the farmville community in the face. 4500 posts in 3 days…and they don’t even address it??? Time to take action since words aren’t working. And not just boycotting EC but FV if not Zynga all together until they fix it. It’s the only way to get them to do something.

  24. Grace Says:

Disappointing! With 454 (and counting) PAGES of complaints about the pause, I was hoping that there would at least be a mention of it being removed! It ruins the game.

  25. Amanda Says:

Though the pause makes gameplay on both farms hard, I don’t have an unwither ring on the English farm like I do on my regular farm. Being able to pause England and not lose my crops if I misjudge time was kinda nice. I also really like the look of things in the English farm. I’m more of a realistic player at heart. I don’t most of the fantasy or silly items like purple cows, etc. I like that I have a farm to have more stylized and natural things.

You all complain so much. Lol. Can’t you look at the nice things about FVEC.

  26. Linda Says:

I have to add my 2 cents , I have put a lot of time and effort in my “New England Town, and I really enjoy tweaking and making it just right , I am not the least interested in the english farm and even less interested when I found out there is a pub and that is one of the quests . I k now its just a game , but I have a son who is 2 and half years sober and I will not do the pub thing , I am really dissapointed that zynga cant set a better example for all the children that play this game . So i will stick to my New England town and not bother with the other one and I am fine with that . I just hope they continue to add new things for our regular farms

  27. Carmen Says:

I have heard people are having glitches with their home farm once they activated their english farm, so I’m not activating ec until pause is removed, No sense in ruining my main farm if I’m not even going to use EC

  28. Laura Says:

I think pause should be optional, because I can see how for some people it could be overwhelming. But for most of us, we were looking forward for to the ADDITIONAL farm, because we wanted just that, an additional one, not a **substitute** one. I also agree about being able to share the storage space, that would be a nice feature.

  29. reincloud Says:

I started a second profile/farm and am going to “go” to the English Countryside from that farm. That way, if they decide to fix all the f-ups with Epic Fail, I can keep my original farm working just fine and have a second farm that is completely support for the EC and it won’t matter if it’s paused.

The pause “feature” is total crap, all the way around :( There is NO reason to make the game work like that other than laziness. Thanks a WHOLE lot, zynga, for taking yet another awesome concept and totally ruining it :(

  30. dms Says:

    I agree.

    this is for suckers.

You either have TONS of neighbors to help you build and expand buildings or a ton of cash to waste on buying the parts. Either way it’s a bore. It’s the same game, starting over. why not just expand our original farm?

I think you’d have to be mad to start over again. I think the best way to communicate this to zynga is simply not to play.

Force them to innovate, be creative.

Meanwhile, I can hardly work my farm. since FVEC started, every time I click, the game pauses and often get out of sync errors.

a few more days of this and I’m calling it a day.

I guess I’m just a lowly fool, but it sure does seem like zynga is run by folks without much sense.

  31. Kerrinda Says:

    I enjoy the EC farm.
I’m having fun breeding sheep but between the potions to get a lamb & the bottles to raise it, this is way too much trouble.
& then you get the same sheep.
& new ones are WAY too expensive.
It seems like time runs a little slower even when it is NOT paused: orchards, coops & barns don’t seem to be ready in a day or two.
I like the speed with which you can expand the farm.
Not a fan of pause, Zynga KNEW this would be an issue, you know they did!
SOOO…I’ll keep playing … for a while & see how they change it up.

  32. Cindy Huxley Says:

Linda@25 – The Pub is the centre of any English Village, The full name Public House explains why. These were originally just that houses where people would come to buy the local beer brewed by the owner. What was probably the last of those, run by a lady nearing 100, was in a village near me. It only closed a year or so ago.

The Public House slowly developed and moved from the front room of a house to a separate building, but it stays the centre of a village. You couldn’t have an English Village without one. It’s the place where people meet and socialise and gossip. Where the Publican is generally very responsible and knows when to stop serving someone, and where in my experience there is very little drunkenness. In bigger towns and cities you do of course get a lot more drunkenness.

However I have never seen the sense in blaming alcohol, and boycotting places that make or sell it, because some people become alcoholics. It makes no more sense than it would to blame food, and boycott farmers and food shops because some people destroy their lives by becoming morbidly obese.

There are many reasons why people become addicts of any kind. For the majority alcohol is a pleasant way to relax from time to time.

As to ‘children’ playing this game. Well no one under 13 should be playing since that is FBs lower limit for an account. However I don’t see that by having a Pub in and English Village Zynga are setting a bad example. After all no one can drink the stuff it produces, and I think its the parent’s responsibility to introduce their children to alcohol and ensure they understand how to use it safely and enjoy it, and what the risks of overdoing it are. My children had wine with meals from an early age, 8 or so, and were introduced to other drinks at home, or when out with us, and they got into their teens. We gave them the best grounding we could. None of them are alcoholics.

  33. Cindy Huxley Says:

As to FVEC – its not a second farm its and alternative farm.

Mine is fully expanded and set up – and there it will stay fallow until the pause is changed. When I can play both simultaneously I will go back to it.

  34. walle Says:

i am defanatlly (sorry i spelled it wrong) going to try to use some of those special sheep from the regular farm that you can get with the valentines and ect

  35. walle Says:

sorry i forget to say why i will use them for breeding if i can

  36. Shaun Says:

    remove the pause, bitch!!!!

  37. Tammy Says:

I have set up the fvec and thats as far as it will go, back home till they fix the pause feature, messed up my orchards horses and crops, plus dont have it in me to start all over doing most of the same things I already did on home farm,

  38. Manjima Says:

Hi, Can anyone pls let me know if a tree harvested in the English farm will count towards tree mastery in the regular farm?

  39. Katie Makepeace Says:

I like the pause feature as I can plant a short crop and then go to the other farm and it wont die when I get back and have time to leave it to grow!
Would like to have some way of being able to transport items between farms, it would be great to have like a trasnporter plane that you could store items in that could be accessed on both farms!

  40. dedee Says:

since the English farm I cannot send gifts to friends or ask for things to help me move on. I never could get people to add to my party either. It just sits there doing nothing. anyone know what to do?

  41. Eugene Says:

What do you do if the village doesn’t appear or anymore quest show up

  42. Eugene Says:

I haave got to level 5 a week ago and since then I can’t move . Now the village map doesn’t appear. Does anyone else have this problem. If you know how to fix it could you help.
