FarmVille Piglet Update
Tonight, in an announcement on the Zynga forums, Lexilicious has announced that the baby piglet feature is currently disabled while technical issues are resolved.
Although currently disabled, some farmers were able to take advantage of the baby piglet feature before it was turned off.
Here is an explanation of how the feature works:
A farmer will come across an expectant pig on their farm and be prompted to return the pregnant pig to their owner (it appears most owners are currently inactive FarmVille players). The farmer then posts to the owner’s wall asking them to claim the pig.
Once the owner of the pig claims them, they place on their farm and return 24 hours later for the birth of the piglets.
When the piglets are born, the owner is then given the opportunity to share with neighbors via the neighbor selection process, similar to gift sending. There is no public post to the wall, so the owner will need to select the individuals they wish to give the piglets to and the recipient will need to accept via gift request page.

Is it just me or Farmville is now unplayable? It keeps saying “saving your farm” every 20 fu***** seconds when i harvest or plant crops! The screen becomes grey and i can’t do anything, just wait for the grey screen to disapear.
I think if they don’t fix this i’m gonna have no other choice to stop playing farmville, because it’s driving me crazy

I got a pregnant pig and in 24 hours, it had piglets. I was then instructed to send them to friends (which I did via the gifting page) and was able to send to 30 friends. The odd thing is that *I* didn’t get to keep a piglet! The game said, “mama pig is resting in your gift box” – which turned out to be just another pig, so it looks like it was a one-off pregnancy.
Oh, and I’m not “inactive” so not sure where that rumor started – a friend “found” it on their farm and said it had my name on the collar and she was instructed to “return” it to me.

This game is really starting to annoy me. I want to play for fun. I like to plant crops I like, decorate my farm and I don’t want to have to bother my neighbors for anything!! Gifts are one thing but we shouldn’t have to badger people to send us stuff.

This most likely will be just like Mustangs release it to a select few then botch it all up cancel it then NEVER look back or fix it (is still waiting for Mustangs to come back so I can get one) so we might be waiting a while (more like till we die)

yeah I got a pregnant pig….said it belonged to a friend of mine who is not currently playing FV. I emailed her and she would NOT claim the pig… so it did not do me any good…SUX

FVF has a problem with redundancy.. it’s just piglet not baby piglet..

well this is one of the stupidest things I heard I know for a fact that the preg. pig they had me send out went to a man in the hospital after a major stroke and now is having heart operation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So do you think I will get anything back? Not !!!!!!!! I understand they want the people to come back and play but what about us who will not get the items because of the kind of thing? SO NOW WHAT ???????????????

This process is just too damn complicated. The nursery barn/foals/calves thing is about as complicated as this should get, but I dislike being used to wrangle in inactive players.
The piglet is also kind of ugly, and I have a huge pig collection. It’d be nice if it were smaller than the pigs!

I want FV to be less based around helping neighbours. like being able to adopt things you found yourself or being able to keep the mystrey eggs, and instead of keeping one pig of the litter, keep them all! >:)

it would also be nice if when we breed special calves and foals to be able to “find one” in our gift box. Thats why we see people wanting to trade special pony for pony foal for foal. But I guess we can B#*$# and complain prolly wont do much, happy farming.

OK… So, I’m really excited about the “finding a pregnant pig” process. It’s kinda fun. They can’t just give us what we want (instant gratification). We would get bored with the game.
I do REALLY wish they would do a better job of testing before releasing new stuff. To me, it’s clear when they’re about to release a new item because FV in general starts bogging down and having technical issues.
I agree with an earlier post. They’ve disabled several releases and didn’t bring them back. I hope they don’t do that with the piglets.
Lastly, the piglet (in form) is precious. However, I hope they adjust the proportion. It doesn’t feel like a piglet when it’s next to the other pigs.
Time to harvest!!

I bought a Mystery Box today (July 5). Inside was a Forest Campsite. It has a big Bear that is hiding, and peeks his head out now and then. Cute.
I didn’t see it on this site, but I screen shot it. It is on my farm right now.

@Antonin: It’s not only you buddy, I got the same problem on my both farms. FV totally unplayable!! I’m thinking to take a BREAK or perhaps QUIT. How can we play if it keep “saving your farm, do not close browser” every minute. It took an hour just to harvest, plot and plant my 330plots. What a time. And not only that, they always messing with my gift box. It appears the gifts I’ve already used or put outside the box still in the box, everytime I refresh the page..Enough is enough.
And by the way, I don’t have the piglet or pregnant pig.!

I had the same thing happen to me. The lost pregnant pig found on my farm went to someone who was not playing FarmVille. Kinda sucks to have to try and get people to play the game who obviously don’t care to play. I would rather have Zynga offer me farm cash for inviting a certain number of players. The possibility of a baby pig aint gonna do it for me.

So, I’ve met 4 people who have piglets to share…there is no limit on the # of people who can collect it, but there is a problem…only people with small farms (with as many items as they want) or big farms (with a small # of items) can collect these piglets…thought it was hogwash, until I tried it out…all of my accounts with hardly anything on the farm (even with the biggest farm expansion possible filled with crops) can collect piglets, but any account with lots of items on it (that is also big) cannot. I tried storing and deleting items to no avail. Any help or advice?

many people use facebook for work as well as pleasure. I have heard employers getting access to facebook pages and if you have too much farmville activity it discourages them from hiring you.
What does this have to do with pigs?
Well, if nonactive players are the ones who need to participate, I imagine they are inactive for a reason. No way am I going to prod them to play. I figure they are inactive because:
1. zynga programming sux and they don’t have several hours a day to farmnon this buggy platform
2. they don’t want farmville posts on their page for professional reasons
3. they are bored with the game
so forget pigs, forget that task feature, just let players play solo.

the person who was flipping out about the guy having major heart surgery not being able to get the piglet made me laugh so hard.
not in a mean way, but people flipping out about farmville is hilarious.
hope he is ok.
anyway, i realize that people will lose their sh*t if they do not get every single feature right away. zynga takes advantage of that and either makes you pay out the A$$ for FV$ or create things like this to make you lose your minds. they probably are sitting back and having a laugh at everyone flipping out about pregnant pigs. i sure am.

Meh! I’m kind of disappointed in the piglets. I was hoping that they would look more like tiny versions of the adult pigs. But they are huge, and look strange. :/

Yeah, it’s more like a new pig. You can’t really see that the prdinary pigs should be this ones parents :S We should rather have a “mudpond” in wich we could place our pigs so they can get piglets (Like calfs and foals) and the piglets should look more like it’s parents. And there shoul be different piglets too. I’m pretty disappointed in this update.
Anyone think we get the 26×26 tonight? Hope so.

i found a post abt my lost pregnant pig this morning, but when i clicked it to claim it 50 internet explorers popped up and it never showed up on my farm. i think it was a virus thing. i don’t believe it was the valid pig /piglet link. but am not for sure.

They are inactive for a reason.
FarmVille has not fixed the most basic errors that keep popping up with each update.
FarmVille has not expanded the farms for all the extra stuff/junk they put out.
FarmVille keeps losing gifts.
FarmVille is Out Of Sync.
FarmVille hung at Level 70 TOO long.
FarmVille has not returned the animals lost last week.
FarmVille keeps changing rules on visits to neighbor’s farms.
FarmVille requires too many clicks to post things on the wall. (Share?, than publish) this is redundant.
FarmVille interrupts your work with a dialog box, which must be answered before you can continue working. (plowing, seeding, etc.)
FarmVille reintroduces OLD problems, which have been fixed, which each update.
Most, if not all inactive owners left for one or more of the above reasons. As Zynga continues without any plan to fix basic problems, inactive owners will stay inactive.

JoJo that just means that you retrieved the final crops for the coop and it is complete.
As far as the piglet goes, I come on here for mainly the comical aspect of hearing people curse or complain about things. They complain how unfair Zynga is and the tech issues they have, well yes some of it sucks but like hundreds and hundreds of TRUE farmville freaks have said, “IT’S A FREE GAME, GET OVER IT” What good does complaining do? As we have seen, do we get expansions we need? NO. Do we get dogs that are worth a crap for 65 farmcash? NO. Have we got animals back that went missing? NO. what makes you think this will be any different? I say it’s screwed up, forget it. Thanks for the F*** UP Zynga may I have another?

I like when ZYNGA comes up with new way to get stuff and not just buying it. For example all the Xmas, Tuscan Wedding or Valentine’s Day way to win prizes by getting X number of gifts to receive a better prize like an Eiffel Tower,etc….
But this new thing about inactive players doesnt make sense. Its logical that you can build a Japanies Stable because your ACTIVE friend send you materials, but its pointless to expect to get a pig from 1 single neighbour only because its very possible that:
1. He is inactive
2. He doesnt pay attention to popups and deletes them
3. He just plays for fun and doesnt know anything about special prizes
4. He posts its on your wall but you have 300 neighbours and never notice his post..
etc..
Also, if ZYNGA wants to ONLY have active members, then why do they ask us to have 200 neighbours to update the size of the farm? Do they really expect 1 person can have 200 ACTIVE members??

Ughh neil shut up. I have over 50 inactive neighbours that have been so for months. Its not about expansions and missing animals. Its about not wanting the hassle of babysitting a silly internet farm!

I know farmville is free….but Im just sad that its getting worse each week…when I first started it was so fun and it seemed like it was going some place…now its quite boring and I dont see a goal for the game. Im desperatly hoping that the crafting cottages bring in some morale whenever or even if they show up.
I expect farmville will just stop in the near future and they will make money off the other new zynga or non zynga games. People will look back some day and say “Hey remember farmville? That was a cool game….too bad it went down hill and cancelled.”

@Antonin and Ika – the problem is not with Zynga it is because you need to download the most recent Adobe Flash… many problems related to plowing/harvesting, out of sync, etc. are due to needing Flash update… if you go to your farm via farmville.com instead of Facebook you will see a link for the Adobe flash in the loading page.. it only takes a few minutes and you will be able to play smoothly and without these problems.

There will always be technical glitches when something is first released because they don’t know the glitches exist until it is released.

What is annoying about this pig/piglet thing is that I have found about 5 pregnant pigs on my farm and they are all allotted to people who aren’t playing anymore. So FV seems to be trying to get us to get our friends to play again….but I think it’s just crappy and I’m not buying into it. Let us all have piglets!
