FarmVille Scam: Beware of the 25 Free Farm Cash

We have seen in the past that Zynga compensates us for problems with the game, but that is a rare occasion. This new scam claims Zynga is sorry for all the recent loading errors and wants to offer 25 Free Farm Cash as compensation. The letter on the scam page even looks legit, but it’s not!
Please note that this is a scam. This is NOT an Official Zynga FarmVille promotion!
Please do not click on the notice on your Facebook news feed. If you happen to, we suggest you update your Facebook password for your protection, and run a virus scan on your computer.
We want to help you protect your FarmVille friends and neighbors, so please share this with them.

I think there is also a legit version coming from Zynga of this message though. My Mom said she received an e-mail with the exact same message and when she clicked she got the 25 FarmCash.
I just hope evrybody gets it then…

I also got a legit email saying this, and it wasn’t a scam – it DID give the money

Yep there is also a legit email being sent out by Zynga.
It appears tho that not all accounts are getting it, I got it for an account I haven’t used for a while, and it did give me the farm cash, tho nothing for the account I use daily so it was more affected by the down time.

I recieved a email along with my sister brother and daughters as well about the free 25 farm cash and we all clicked on the provided space in the email and all 3 of us got the 25 farm cash,its about time they do something right thank you zynga.The email title was was farmville and said IMPORTANT MESSAGE REGAURDING YOUR RECENT FARMVILLE EXPEIRENCE..So the email is NOT a scam at all.

Come on people, be smarter then these scammers…If Farmville was going to give you that much cash, you can believe you will not be going to another facebook site to get it. You would receive the notice right on your farm.

I got this email, but it doesn’t have the title “Farmville Farm Cash” at the top or the Facebook Like button. It was from Zynga, I clicked it and I got my 25 FV$.

Of my family of 4 players, 3 got it and have $25.00 on their FV account and me who plays the most never got the e-mail. It appears to be all on the up and up as they all have the money. Very strange and my Virus protection never caught anything.

i got the email on the two other farms that i havent been playing on. i got the cash aswell. i dont think its a scam as in the past when i havent played those accounts for ages….ive been given cash again.
another email i got was 20 farmcash and a hen for the english farm.

The scam is the wall post that you have to like, it would appear that the email sent to your registered email address is very real and does give that account the farm cash.
Just a shame they don’t seem to be giving it to the regular daily players

Carly- You would think that any email with spelling like that would be a scam. I thought Zynga could at least use spell check…

I recieved an email on this as well, and it seemed to be legit. I however have not played for a couple of weeks, but usually play daily. I think there were some technical difficulites at that time, so perhaps thats why they think people stopped playing….sadly to say for me, its been because I have LOTS of other things that need my attention right now…not because I was mad at the game. THANK YOU though for the FC! It is much appreciated!!

I received 2 emails from farmville in the last week that say that zyngas sorry for loading errors and wish to give me a free reward. I clicked on both and received 50 frm cash. The email seemed legit… If there is a problem and the message was fake zynga should be in trouble for the leak of all of our email addresses etc.

when you click on the “game cards tab” on your own farm, it brings up a screen that says, “send farm cash to your friends.” I tried sending it to myself, but it wouldn’t add however much I decided on getting to the farmville in-game amount. well, it should and there should be an explanation really soon.

I contacted 20 of my neighbors, and 17 replied.
Only 2 of them got the FV25 email from Zynga.
Each and every one of us had loading issues for several days.
Remember the “5 Phases of a Project?”
