FarmVille: Technical Issues July 17th, 2010
Today there have been various messages above the FarmVille game screen, such as:
“We are aware of FarmVille loading issues and are working for a resolution”
or the most recent:
“We’ve been seein’ some platform bugs and don’t want ‘em munchin’ on your crops. So we’ve temporarily TURNED OFF WITHER for everybody!”

Currently there is no more information available on this issue, or even what the issue is surrounding. But having no wither on the weekend is not such a bad thing, right?
FarmVille has been recently plagued with technical issues.

Well….
How about a chicken coop unlock from time to time once a month for example as you do with the Nursery Barns ?
Come on zynga! be reasonable !
So many farmers have at least 5 Dairy Barns on their farms…….. and nothing to say of the Nursery Barns…

Not true…. the bigger the farm is the more farmers need new chicken coops….
Taking in account the reached level and the size of the farm… a farm with 26×26 need a least a second 2 chicken coop or a higher expansion until 80 or 100 ….

there is also another problem i hope zynga will look at it, i have a 125Fv cash, when i loaded 8 farmville game cards worth 10$ each, i got only 400fv cash wheres my former 125fvcash and isnt it 55fv cash value of each 10$ fv game card that we bought at best buy it should be 440fv cash + my former 125 fv cash. now i only get 400fv cash
too bad i even dont know where to complain coz in the missing farmcash link its only for credit cards complain, I hope zynga will look on this matter.

I am almost fed up completely with FV-I just got the 711 bonus 200 FV $$$ and cant even use them because even though my farm appears after about 20 minutes,it freezes when I try to open anything.They need to chill on all the new stuff and concentrate on working the bugs out so they can keep growing….When you cant count on being able to play,there are too many other games to waste time on something that wont work.

Honestly I’d lose interest pretty quick if it weren’t for new things like the Stable Expansions, Bee Hives, etc. every couple of weeks. I like buildings with purposes. I’m not a decorator. The technical issues haven’t gotten too much in the way of my farming . Once in a while I get really annoyed when I’m halfway through harvesting and plowing and I get that stupid “Farmville has been enhanced” refresh message but it’s not the end of the world.
I don’t like how long they tease things like the Crafting Cottages. It’s something I’m really excited to start, and reminds me of the Farmer’s Market teasers that showed up for ages before finally going live. The Farmer’s Market is kind of a bore until we get the cottages, so hopefully that happens soon.

It is sad that I really can’t tell a difference between a good or bad day of Farmville.
1) It is faster for the farm to load when there is nothing on the screen. 2) There are “coming soon” features that need to be released.
3) There are issues when I try to share two things at once.
4) I can’t harvest my entire farm without needing to save.
5) Sometimes I harvest so fast that it tells me I have run out of fuel.
6) Farms should be able to be saved before an enhancement.
7) When I try to open two items at once, it goes out of sync.
X) *INSERT TECHNICAL ISSUE HERE*
That’s only the tip of the iceberg. Some of these I have seen since release. I know businesses have invested money into their company. They can afford to fix things. Be done with BETA.

Are you kidding me? 50,000 coins for a fan cow now 300,000 coins for a sheep? And you could even put the cow in the dairy farm and get a calf you can’t get NOTHING from the sheep for 300,000 coins! Give me a break! Last farm upgrade 500,000 coins 2 mil for this one? 1 million for the villa 5 million for the mansion? You have to plant and sell illegal crops in your markets to make enough coins for everything you want. Coins don’t come that fast for some!!!! Why keep adding new stuff when the old stuff doesn’t work? Why add new games daily when you have so many problems with the games you already have? The bee hive what does it do? NOTHING! Take up space! Tell me what do you need more bushels for anyway? You can hold 50 in your market you get that in 1 harvest and NOT many people come to your market anyhow. It is ALL a waste of space. The crafting cottage is just a dream, we have been waiting for! They keep starting these projects and never follow through but continue bringing out more stuff. The bees help the market, which will help the cottage which no one has ever seen. Yet in the podcast last week they talked about a whole new line of stuff, a garage, new harvester and seeder for new co-ops, give me a break, look at the nursery!!! It takes up so much room for 20 calf’s that would take up 2 plots? Does that make sense? Foals on the other hand take up room, yes but 20? Dairy farm take up less space and hold 40 fat cows? Horse stable…50 gifts to add 5 more horses? REALLY? Dairy Farm 10 clicks! HUMMM… Don’t get me wrong I love the game but fix what is already in play before you go and keep adding new stuff, and stop teasing us with things like crafting cottages and instead bringing out things like bee hives! Get it together or people will quit!!!!!!!

Honestly, I haven’t had any issues. No lost items, no extreme waits for loading, no bizarre bugs. Everything runs smoothly for me. *knock on wood*

While i do hate that new updates comes with some serious technical glitches my biggest gripe right now is all these frickin popups on screen when i try to do anything on my farm.
why the hell don’t they just put an icon on the left hand side like treasure isle and stop interrupting my work when i am on the farm.
in one session of harvesting plowing an planting i counted 12 popups, either some lost animal or some damn free fuel or collectible or saving your farm or bushel notification or full shed or full farmers market and popup asking that i buy more farmers market etc.
it is a pain in my ass!

Remind me again how Zynga realized that to be a successful game they had to bring out new stuff every single week, even OVERLAPPING themes in their massive rush to keep people interested? what’s the point in having permanent items in the market if you never get a chance to take any notice of them? personally, i feel that Zynga doesn’t bring out new stuff for the player’s benfit at all, but just to have another excuse to charge cash. of course, any glitches in the game aren’t fixed because they sympathize with the inconvenience to us, its only because they’re worried they might lose money. they are getting WAY TOO GREEDY, it is a serious turn-off.

All the greed aside. I personally would be happy if the FV dudes would just take a month to fix most of the bugs and hold off on releasing more limited edition items. Just less than a year ago FV was a pretty stable game, and I think it wouldn’t take long for them to find and fix some of the major bugs in the game.

The pop ups! Totally agree! There are way to many. My sister deleted her market stalls for that reason alone. It’s a pain in the ass. I have had it with the market stalls anyways what are they good for anyhow? There is no cottage and nobody takes anything out of them and they fill up in 1 harvest. Then when you empty it it clutters up your wall as well as everyone elses. The if you do 3 different crops you need 3 stalls. That takes up more space, plus more $$$$ , what a waste and headache!

IVE GOT ANOTHER MAIN ISSUE I WORKED REAL HARD AND BOUGHT THIS SWISS TOOL SHED FOR ADDITIONAL 15 STORAGE BUT IM NOT ABLE TO STORE ANYTHING 15 ITEMS I MEAN WITH MULTIPLE BARNS TOOLS SHEDS ETC I HAVE 84 STORAGE SPACE BUT WHATEVER I DO I CAN STORE ONLY 15 LESS ITEMS IN MY STORAGE IF I TRY TO STORE ANYTHIN EXTRA THE GAME GOES OUTTA SYNC!! WTF IS HAPPENING!!!! THIS IS OVER TEH LAST 4 DAYS !!! ITS NOT YET SOLVEDE!!!!

Problems currently/recently experienced:
1. A new gift sending mechanism affecting some players, similar to the Frontierville and Treasure Island versions – this was reversed yesterday. It became impossible for some players to send gifts because it didn’t work. [resolved]
2. Frequent sync errors [ongoing]
3. Unnamed app on Facebook [ongoing]
4. Collectibles that don’t appear, ever [ongoing]
5. Popups for sending gifts don’t work in Chrome, so the game must be reloaded each time [never did, ongoing]
6. Excess saving – sometimes I need to save after each and every 3×3 plowing [ongoing]

I cannot do following :
- expand any type of barn… Dairy Barn, Storage Barn : I click on “expand”, I can publish the pop up saying Barn needs to be expanded with 10 friend clicks, but 2 seconds after, i go on “storage”, and instead to see the red button “Give up”/green button “Buy”, I only see the blue button with “Expand” …
____yesterday night i tried to expand a red barn (had got 7 clicks from my friends…. all gone) and a dairy barn (2 clicks… all gone too)….
- use my “Share a wish” : when I click on the “Share a wish” button nothing happens, button seems to be freezed…

i collected about 30 collectibles frm a frnd ( she posted 55 today) but around 10 were missing !! i got all the common ones but farmville owes me 3 saltshakers , a cowbell , and cultivators. i had accepted all of these . also ive benn farming flowers dor 3 days but still no queen bee…..even fertilized 20 farms. its like an almost extinct bee……. also 2FC missing. …….. hope they do something about these glicthes

I have another problem:
friday evening I got level 47, but no farmcash from 39 to 40…I was 39FV$
yesterday I used 1 FV$ for crops growing…so still 38 FV$.
today, i got level 48, but no additionnal 1 FV$ as I got every time I got a new level… so blocked at 38 FV$.
Actually U told us no more FV$ from level 100 and higher but I am level 48 ……
so please give me back the 1FV$ lost.

There are currently problems receiving gifts from the feed- the screen goes blank when you try and accept gifts and the gift is lost.
Also the “Unnamed App on Facebook” error has returned since the beehive was released.
I also keep loosing things because multiple windows often pop up at the same time and cancel each other out.
Attempts at expansions either arent showing up on the feed or when i look progress it has gone back to 0.
I am sick of this Tuscan Wedding thing as well…. i thought it was ending on the 29th of June but it is still here.
The first time you access your gift box when you log into your account in game and the suggestion of sending gifts to your active friends is annoying too.
And my game always goes out of sync or repeatedly has to save during plowing for some reason.
Just some of the problems i have noticed recently.

Zynga does need to slow down a bit and deal with it’s technical problems. They bring out too many new things too fast. In th Zynga FV forums, there is a long list of known issues and bugs that they need to work on, and the list is just growing! The prices for items are becoming outrageous since they added new levels. 10,000 for a fence! Slow down Zynga, all this new stuff can be overwhelming and I can’t imagine how it is for some one just starting out.

they could slow down a little i maybe, but i also think that putting le items in is much easier than fixing bugs and large function update. they might have someone doing the normal items and someone a little geekier doing function updates. so less items might not mean that they can fix bugs faster. but maybe they should hire some more programmer experts..

Please make more barns and make them hold more animals! I love having all the animals it takes so long to load with tons of them. How about a zoo barn for all the random and limited edition animals… bull pen for all the single bulls… pig pin… sheep shack… goat garage… I don’t even care if there is not a special reward for having them inside or even babies. Those updates can always come later.
Also how about turning the time line off on neighbor assisted projects when there are glitches not just crops. I lost a barn expansion because of them and had to start over again. People stop helping out when it is not easy to do so…

This is a great poll, and I really hope there is something similar on the forums because zynga needs to take a step back and figure out why the game is so laggy before introducing yet more glitchy systems and horrible artwork that makes the game even slower.

Ummm… I’m not having any problems here. Farmville is working perfectly fine, so maybe it’s YOUR computer. Or you just have way too much $hit on your farm.
If it wasn’t for those updates, I probably would’ve quit Farmville a long time ago.. it’s the excitment of new stuff that keeps me going.
So, no I don’t want Farmville to slow down on the updates.
One thing that might help a lot of people is if Farmville have the option to turn off the animation, so everything is frozen while you harvest/plow/plant.

I started a coop farming project. Only one person joined cause of all the problems right now. What I’d like to know is what happens with a coop farm project when wither is turned off?? Does the time limit still apply — just that the crops won’t wither if not harvested in due time? Leave it to me to pick the wrong time to start a project.

Also along w noticed no longer being beta never got our winery, perfume that was announced while back. Also underground barn never happened. Takes forever to load.. Also nursery barn rip off . Had Pinto grow up to be black stallion horse keeping my rare horses out of there dont need to loose them like i did pinto’s….Like a Migrane keeps getting worse…….

I got really annoyed when all my Japanese Barn items disappeared and then I could never complete it. So, I took a break and now, I can’t even do anything.
How embarrassing.
Zynga should be embarrassed about its programming. If I owned a company and I was known for a product that doesn’t work and for being greedy, I would be ashamed.

Your problem is that you loaded cards with 10$. Tt should be $10…there in lies your problem. Use facebook credits. They are the only way that will not screw up your total. Besides, if you had read the fine print…the max amount you can add through cards is set to 400. You seem to be doing the same thing I did…which is to build a nursery without checking to see if the inputs were entered correctly. I had to rebuild my nursery with another 50 pieces. Let’s hope you saved your BB receipts. You can get your money back. Good luck.

@ Brad…The markets are useful to both you and your neighbors for a variety of reasons. If you grow a selection of crops and keep multiple stalls open, your neighbors have a selections of crops to choose from when they visit your farm and are more likely to pick up something from your market than if you are offering only one crop. This means you are increasing your chance of earning the bonuses. Right now it isn’t just about stockpiling bushels.
When the crafting cottages are released, I think we will be going through bushels much faster than we are now. I know that now I produce more bushels than I can possibly use myself. I have to dump quite a few in order to do any shopping in my neighbors stalls. However, it is not mandatory to ‘publish’ every time I dump something from my stall. I only publish the bushels that people are most likely to be looking to use. Initially rye was a hard one to find. Sometimes amyranth can be as well.

Actually, I was also going to post (to be helpful, not to be a troll) that I believe that many of the issues that people have with loading, OOS, and especially if you get OOS when plowing has to do with your flash player not being updated. Since I downloaded the latest Adobe flash that Zynga offers on farmville.com loading page, my farm is working perfectly … before that it was a nightmare and of course I thought it was Zynga bug issues but it wasn’t!! It was on my end because this game relies very heavily on flash… so take my advice and go to the zynga loading page and look for the link for the flash download.. only takes minutes and you’ll feel like you have a new computer and farming will be a breeze.

I stay because I like the game more importantly I am addicted to playing I am not proud to say that but it is true. They know that!!!!!!! The market stalls are a WASTE, they do NOTHING. You will never need rye,or amyranth even if they do come out with the cottages, they are not in any of the recipes! How many people really come to your markets, and how many do you go to? But they got you to build a bee hive for them didn’t they and what does that do? NOTHING!!! It is ALL a vicious cycle they lie to us daily and we believe em!

im having problem expanding chicken coop, dairy farm n storage barn. when i click on “expand” button, the game freeze. after refreshing, i tried “buy” button. it also freezed. clearing cache wont solve it
any idea?

are you serious? its a freakin game people!!! get a life, i go to work, and play for an hour a day maybe? its runs totally fine, and all the new updates and goodies keep me interested and playing, if they got rid of all the extras, youd be bored poopless… if you hate the game so much, dont play it!!! maybe get a job and some friends and live a little..

Minor glitches have not been too bad to deal with, but major glitches are a disappointment. Lost a whole crop (over 400) going into the stall, which, in turn, lost the mastery earned and no new bushels being put into stall so I could at least earn double xp to get the mastery that I had already earned. Received a Briton Foal, but it did not show up in my gifts, lost somewhere in space. I believe the final turning point for some of my neighbors quitting the game came with the horse stable glitch when all horses disappeared including ones that had to be purchased with cash. Please slow down so technical issues could be kept at a minimum. FarmVille is the only game I play and I thank you for the entertainment!

*sigh* my farm has not loaded fully for 5 days now. I have uninstalled & reinstalled flash player, I have deleted my neighbours (can get to that page ok), I have tried IE and firefox, I have tried a different computer. I do not have a complex farm…level 26 I think. It is not overloaded. but I cannot get to it.
This is obviously not affecting everyone, but I suspect I am not alone & that it is for people like me that they have turned off wither.
when it does try to load it still says ‘BETA’ under farmville.
I would like my farm back. any ideas please?
I don’t know how to submit a fault docket, (if there is such a thing) or how to contact Zynga for help. their support page leads me round in circles & just dumps me on a FAQ page.

I voted to slow down. The crafting cottages were announced so long ago, the farmer’s market is now boring. We’ve waited through 2 specialty promotions and still nothing further on the cottages. I fortunately haven’t had any issues accessing my farm, but my small glitches have to do with turning in collections. I receive experience points and coins, but never receive special gifts or have them count in my collection totals. Also, some FV cash decorations are too expensive – consider a coin option – specifically gnomes.

Melis – you are a father?? Hope you clean up your mouth when speaking to your son.. also your posts are so hard to read … ever hear of paragraphs… wow, so many uptight people. Remember, if you’re not having fun playing this game then something is wrong with your attitude. It’s supposed to be fun! I realize that the bugs can be frustrating but maybe it’s the powers that be telling you to take a break.

I” m done since a time with FV …I just do like the most of my friends and neighbors…maintenance….seeding and harvesting and run away from the game …there is no fun on it anymore…everything is f…up…!!!
There is not a single day without one or more issues…this aint a game anymore…

I don’t understand why I can’t do my crafting building… I can do everything else but Make — when I try the screen goes all the way over to the left and it won’t let me do anything… Is this happening to anyone else.. I have tried it on a couple different computers and they all do the same thing.
