FarmVille Camera Gone, Unknown Menu Box Appears!
UPDATE 2: On 05/10 the Camera icon returned, but is still not functional.
UPDATE: Lexilicious announced via FarmVille’s May 7th Podcast that the missing Camera function is only temporary and will return as bugs are worked out.
The FarmVille in-game camera has vanished with tonight’s updates!
The spot previously occupied by the camera has been replaced with a blank menu item. The camera was used to take pictures of your farm or throughout your farming experience in FarmVille. You could snap photos within the game and then post them to your newsfeed or save them in a Facebook album.

Its not a mystery box, i think they are updating the photo option! I think, i hope they bring the photo option back soon!

It’s not an unknown menu box, it’s the place where the picture box used to be. They took that feature away.

I bet they will move the Message Center to that spot.
Farmers Market will probably end up in the Market button and toggle like Gifts/Storage. Alternately it could end up with the Co-op button and do the same.
Other Zynga games have the camera over on the upper left along with sound & music.

farmville seems to be having a lot of crazy glitches and issues lately, I think they should stop trying to introduce so many new features at once.. the new message centre, co-op farming and farmers market updates are all doing my head in!

I had in my FB photo albums today 287 Farmville Albums with ZERO pictures in them (said they were created April 20), I never ‘snapped’ any shots either. I do have pictures from previous, perhaps this is why the camera option is gone – there was a problem?

FARMVILLE HAS MANY OF THE PICS MISSING. SEEMS TO BE SERVER PROBLEM. AS YOU CAN SEE ON YOUR HOME PAGE, MANY OF THE FV IMAGES ARE MISSING. I M ASSUMING THE CAMERA IMAGE IS ALSO DUE TO THIS PROBLEM.

@Edward, Not everyone wants the same stuff. Some people want expansion, others want more storage, yet others are waiting for the Farmer’s market and so on and so forth.
There are millions of people playing this game so do not expect Zynga to just bring updates for a specific group of people only. In other words expect variety and stop complaining about one feature being introduced over others just because you want it a certain way.
Not to mention the number of people complaining about so many things introduced at the same time. Not each and every change is targeted at YOU. There are other people playing the game, too. So just avoid the stuff you do not like and use the stuff you do. And wait patiently for the rest.
Btw there is a print screen button on your keyboard for anyone who wants to capture their farm.

I also had a problem where I had over 100 farmville photo albums on my facebook profile with no pictures in them from April. I had to delete each one, one by one. Extremley painfull!! It sounds like that was the glitch.

Ugh. One feature that actually works and what do they do… take it away. Nice.
Hopefully it’s just a mistake and the feature will be back ASAP. I liked the camera. It wasn’t perfect, but it was fast.
I’d show you a picture of how awesome my farm is, but, you know, no camera. haha…
(yes, I know how to take a screen capture, the the FV camera was much faster)

I hope they bring back the camera feature. I’ve been documenting my farm and it’s fun to see how it’s changed over the past year. I’ve also been documenting the crops I grow.

They need to fix the entire control back to how it was instead of the “scroll-over” option. It’s completely annoying!

Zyngas plan is to eventually allow Foals and Calves to grow up through the Nursery Building. This would allow the player to judge wether he wants them tp grow up (put thme into the Nursery) or not (leave em outside). I don’t know however when this building will start behaving like this.

@Edward, NO not EVERYONE WANTS the foals to go, there is millions of people like me, we spent hundreds of real dollars to get the horses to make the foals, and yet FV said that the nursery barn will only be used for storing foals, NOT TO GROW THEM!!! its not fair on us people who spent hundreds to get our pretty white stallions and our nice ponys just so everyone has 1 the week later, I still give mine out so everyone can have some lovley looking foals, and yet FV WAS going to let people just grow their best buyers money into horses, and FV realised that no-one would buy the Pintos, Percherons and Clydesdales anymore so what Lexilicious said was not true at all!

The tool bar needs more work..alot more. I’m ready to quit farming because I can’t get the tools I need to come up. I can’t get my gif’s because the co op farming box pops up. every thing with a mutili use does not work well on my computer, it’s very irratating

This is how you take a picture on a Mac: Hold Command, Shift and 4 now you can drag a box to make a screenshot of this area. Make sure to set FarmVille to the best quality (the eye symbol on the upper left must be white) before taking the pic. OSX writes out a PNG image file and saves it on your desktop for you to upload to FB.

While allowing foals and calfs to grow up, its kind of disappointing to those who paid a lot of FV money to get the speciatly horses and cows. Soon they will be ordinary then and not special.

@wendy – i agree but having 2 or more of every breed is good.. what i hate about it is that we can’t have the foals or calves for ourselves, and my neighbors don’t have even one of those breeds purchasable with farm cash ’cause they don’t want to spend their farm cash so there’s no way i can have one..

The camera feature seem buggy to me. At times it has the cancel feature instead of me just taking a picture and pressing X to cancel and at times it doesn’t.
It mostly the times I want to cancel when the cancel button isn’t there.
Well I hope they’ll improve this feature.

I haven’t looked to see if my Photo albums are intact, but this could be a part of the ongoing war between Facebook and application developers.
I stand by my feeling that this will be the new home of the Message Center once the divorce from Facebook is finalized.

Months ago we had a blue ribbon for photos. It just vanished one day, never to return.
I wish FarmVille would re-list this item, with all the ribbons collected (earned) by us farmers for this item, (yellow, white, red, & blue.)
Farmville should expand the dairy barns and horse stables as promised months ago. (This was promised when the chicken coop was expanded to 60,)
I have seen a lot of old neighbors drop out or go into hibernation. (FarmVille’s answer is un-wither, so it doesn’t have all those farms with dead crops.) Instead they should do two things, levels above 70 and farms bigger than 24 X 24.
Stop being so PC. They are Christmas Trees, not Holiday Trees. They are Easter Eggs not Spring Eggs.

My camera does not work – hasn’t for several months yet some of my neighbor’s cameras do work and they post pictures of their farms. So, something weird is going on. FV is working so hard getting out their next game that they don’t have time to maintain FV. Most likely other games are suffering too.
