New Limited Release Lightning Collectibles: Gemstone Collection
FarmVille has another new exciting feature: Lighting Collections. These new Collections, such as the Gemstone Collection, can only be found when planting crops on your farm. Players will also have the option of purchasing the items in the collection for $FV.

Note: Lightning Collections are not yet in full release. If you do receive a Gemstone, use it at your own risk it may be lost.
FarmVille Lightning Collection - Gemstone Collection
The Lightning Gemstone Collection has 6 components.
Free Gifables ( 3 Items ) or available for 1 $FV:
- Topaz – Common
- Amethyst – Common
- Turquoise – Common
The remaining 3 Gemstones can be found while planting crops or purchased for $FV:
- Ruby 2$FV – Uncommon
- Emerald 2$FV – Uncommon
- Diamond 3$FV -Rare
So you can be patient; accept gifts and try to find the Collectibles OR purchase them for a total of 10$FV (the complete set).
When you complete the Gemstone collection you can share a few extras with neighbors:

But, currently you will not be able to complete this collection again, as the congratulations pop explains:
“You won’t be able to collect more Gemstone items, but you can still share extra Gemstone Collection items with your friends.”

Cool but what the heck is up with the Checkered Button? I’ve maxed out on everything else on the button collection but haven’t ever been able to gift or receive the checkered one…

I don’t have this available to me yet. I had one neighbor gift one, but when I went to accept, it went straight to my farm. Guess you can’t accept until you, yourself can gift??? I’m leaving the other one alone till this gets straightened out.

i had 6 or 8 or the gems,they were in a separate collection area, then they vanished. the whole thing is gone from my collections tab.

200XP for the completed collection you have to have all of them….In order to get the lighting to show up put an item in like you do any collection and then click on the white box that pops up to tell you you added it…this will open your collection box and the lighting link will be there and you can see what you need! Links are here too!

What does this mean???

Does that mean that once we “use” a gemstone from our gift box it may or may not go into the “collections” section? It could just disappear into outer space or something? I don’t understand, what is the point of all this…what makes this a so called “lightning” collection?

NIC… i agree with U… the game is more and more expensive!
We wait for a high quality game here for the prices we have to pay, not for stuff like ” use it at your own risk”….
With other words this means that if this stuff goes lost, it will be our fault because we have used it ????
If we play this game (and we play it because we have fun with it…. not because we “must”!!! ), it’s because it’s still successful and has enough quality to share….
SUCCESSFUL + QUALITY = MANY FANS (not for a few days but for many many years !!!!!!!! ).

you can gift the 3 common ones at the moment, turquoise, topaz and amethyst, rest you have to find or buy, you actually need 45gems all up to complete set and to buy outright costs 67fv not 10 as stated in post. you need 10 each of common 7 each of 2 uncommon and 3 rare diamonds. 10×1+10×1+10×1+7×2+7×2+3×3=67

I can’t even find it to purchase (even if I wanted to, and at that price, I don’t). When are they gonna bring out a new theme that I actually like? The Tuscan and the Japanese were nice but gone too quick and all the others in between and after have been lame~!

I do not find my Lighning collection either.
The Theme :
Their are not so many things I like.
Maybe the Swiss Lake and mountains.
I am waiting for a theme from Canada.
The beauty of nature there: Rocky Mountains, lakes, snow mountains…..
And even the ground squirrels and the tree squirrels… Bears are not nessesary….
I’m not living there but had a vacation there in 2008.

I have the TROPHY, the only way to see what your count is when you “use” a gem from your gift box, click on the little pop up that says you collected it… it will take you to the screen (another pop up), click on “lightning” that is where you can find your totals. The GEMS ARE NOT LOST!!

There is a way of seeing the lightning collectibles in your collectibles tab.
You have to click the little pop-up that comes up at the bottom of the in game screen when you find a collectible. After that you get the collectibles tab and at the top there is a button to see the lightning collections tab.
You CANNOT access this tab (at least for now) by going to the collections button at the bottom of the game screen.
I already got some gems from friends and added them to the collectibles and they are there, haven’t lost any of the three giftable gems I got.

i try to buy some gems.I SPENT 6 FV CASH, BUT DID NOT GET THE GEMS. LOST MONEY ON THSI. I ALSO LOST MY DOG. I HAVE SPENT LOTS OF FV COINS ON THAT DOG,FED HIM AND GAVE BONES TO HIM. NOW HE IS GOINE. IF FV TAKES THINGS FROM MY FARM, I WILL QUIT PLAYING FV. I HAVE ENJOYED WHEN THINGS WERE STAYING ON MY FARM. I LIKE TO HAVE MY DOG BACK AND THE 3 GEMS I PURCHASED. ALSO.

Got an emerald and 2 amethysts and I can’t access the collection anymore. Guess they disappeared, I should have listened to FV Freak and kept them in my gift box for the time being :[ Also when your friends give away free collectibles it must only give one diamond because I tried to get one from friends who posted 4min ago and 8min ago and they were both already claimed. >__< This collection is going to be a pain but I will do it for the fuel and EXP. I plant a lot of crops anyway so I might as well do it.

The Gem Collection is WORKING !! I found a ruby on my farm and was able to post it to my feed. I used the links to send topaz and it my friends can now accept them and see their collection box !

Lame. pure and simple. With all the issues my friends are having finding a Queen Bee…and, they throw this into the mix? And, I’m sure…the “Rare” collectibles will be rarer than finding the right words to get thru to Zynga that they are causing way too much frustration in some very avid players. This is suppose to be “Fun”. It really does seem like they are making RARE items to push folks frustration level to the brink of either Pay-to-Play or Quit. Is that their ultimate objective? I’m what you would call a “Paying” customer, and, the Queen Bee thing just sort of pushed me over the edge. And, now Lightning Collectibles…where the goal is to “Win” a Trophy. Please…..imho…..the Queen Bees must have been struck down by Lightning.

Well, my collection was there earlier tonight and now it’s gone, However, I suspect it will still be there. Someone gave me an amethyst long before I knew exactly what was going on, and I “used” it from the gift box—of course it just disappeared at that point as I did not have the “lightning collections tab.” However, during the brief time that I had the tab available earlier this evening, I noticed that that amethyst WAS in the collection, so hopefully whatever’s not visible now will be once the stuff reappears.

I’ve already had 2 friends find diamonds, one of which I got. Another friend shared an emerald. I just need the ruby. My lightening collections tab has disappeared several times but whenever it reappears everything I’ve collected is there.

It appears if you get into the collections page in any way OTHER than the usual one (clicking on “collections” in the pop-up graphical menu off of the ribbons button), such as via clicking on the floatover that comes up when you add anything to any collection (even permanent ones), or via “would you like to trade in this collection” the resulting collections pane shows the lightning collections tab. Only the “default” “easy” way doesn’t work.

I purchased the some from the set, 1 for 1FV cash, 2 for 2FV cash, and 1 for 3FV cash….NOTHING! Just lost my FV cash….The ones I purchased I didn’t have…I had two or three others….this collection just showed in my collection box briefly after I turned in some other collections…I have no way of accessing the gem collection or getting my FV cash back….

It pops up when you hover on the ribbon in the bottom right beside the market link. When it pops up, click “collections,” then under the collections heading, you’ll see a button for “permanent” collections, and one for the “lightning.” If anyone doesn’t see this now, try a different browser. It works fine for me in IE, Safari, and Chrome, but may not on all machines depending on the OS. Just a simple suggestion to try if all else fails, on many things really…

To see the lightning collections tab I have to go in from a way other than my ribbons/collections button. Use any of the pop-ups you get when you add any collectible or complete a collection. That’s the only time that tab shows for me. I only need a few more to complete the whole thing, and yes you need 10 of the 3 commons, 7 of the 2 uncommon and 3 diamonds.

why would you people buy the set if the thing just started? lol i have half the rare and uncommon collection already by taking the ones my neighbors post, i don´t think it´s a big deal, it´s either you wait or don´t get it, no need to pay for it, i think what really matters is the animals loss, i havent got my 20 chickens back, would it be cause i never payed for pixels??

I just completed the collection and want to know what the heck to do with all the extra gems in my gift box? You can only turn in this collection once . .are the extra gems now “worthless” ? Can’t even gift them to others who haven’t yet completed this. Any ideas, pardners? Do you think they’ll be useful for future collections or are they just taking up space in my gift box? I have deleted all my extra gems that were sitting in my gift box! I guess if we do need them for more collections they will tell us in due course and it’s not as if they are hard to collect except maybe the diamonds otherwise they are 2 a penny lol

Ok, so here is what I have noticed… (just wondering if anyone else has noticed this as well)
Before my collection was complete, I had clicked on the “buy” button to see how many farmcash it would cost. It used to say 22 or 18 or whatever I needed.
Well NOW… I only need 1 turquoise and 1 diamond which is 4 farmcash total (1 for the turquoise and 3 for the diamond. So when I click on the “buy” button it says -6. This doesn’t make sense. WHY the negative sign?
Here is what I conclude… If you notice, some of the gems allow you to collect more than you need, such as the ruby, emerald, and I’m assuming the diamond. You only need 7, but you can have 10 of them. SO… for however many extra gems we collect, do we get to keep the amount of FV cash that they are worth?
I really hope this is the case!

More B.S. from this game. The silly trophy is pointless…everyone wanted the 200 xp…SURPRISE–you won’t get it! (unless they change/fix it).

I was just able to trade in for a second gemstone trophy. I am not sure if this is a bug or allowed but it worked for now.

What a shame they retired the gemstone collection.
I really worked hard to get it. And would have loved to get the beautiful trophy. Too bad.
Seems it’s all about forcing us to play. Not about having fun with it.
