The No Name FarmVille Sheep
Last week the Mouflon Sheep was added to FarmVille as a new lost and wandering animal. Many people thought this sheep was a goat, but its original name was was in fact “Mouflon Sheep”. Not only is their species confusing, but the sheep/goat is now nameless.

Posted on June 1st, 2010 at 6:03 pm
I think it should be called Mouflon mountain goat because mountain goats have horns like that!
Posted on June 1st, 2010 at 6:04 pm
It’s name should be, “Dude, these freaking horns are heavy Sheep” and just call him “Dude” for short.

Posted on June 1st, 2010 at 6:04 pm
Isn’t it a ram?

Has anyone noticed that the pink dots above ready animals don’t work when you try clicking on them? The cursor just recognizes whatever is behind the dot… at least on my farm it does…

The mouflon (Ovis aries orientalis group) is a subspecies group of the wild sheep Ovis aries. Populations of Ovis aries can be partitioned into the mouflons (orientalis group) and urials or arkars (vignei group). The mouflon is thought to be one of the two ancestors for all modern domestic sheep breeds.

it is called a mouflon sheep, thats what it always says when it comes up to help on my farm
Posted on June 1st, 2010 at 6:05 pm
It is nice to know that Zynga would much rather mess with the name of a sheep than get to the real issues at hand.
Posted on June 1st, 2010 at 6:05 pm
Reminds me of the classic rock song by the group America… “I’ve been through the desert on a… *sheep/goat* …with no name, it felt good to be out of the rain…”
There. How many of you now have that song stuck in your head, LOL?
Posted on June 1st, 2010 at 6:06 pm
I think it should be named sheoat or goaeep
Posted on June 1st, 2010 at 6:06 pm
Just call it Harry!
Posted on June 1st, 2010 at 6:06 pm
Well, I think they should name him Baa-binski. :0) Just kidding.
Go with whatever breed of sheep it represents. You’ve done it with everything else on Farmville. Why change now?
Posted on June 1st, 2010 at 6:06 pm
Looks more like a goat than a sheep……….name it the Big horn sheep evil twin!
Posted on June 1st, 2010 at 6:06 pm
I think it should be named “Man-Bear-Goat” in reference to Al Gore!
Posted on June 1st, 2010 at 6:07 pm
It’s a Mouflon and Mouflons are sheep. In fact they are the (still living) ancestors of our nowadays comon house-sheep.
)
(for reference look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mouflon)

I think you should just call it a mouflon sheep
Posted on June 1st, 2010 at 6:11 pm
It should be named Benny. Sure looks like one…NOT! It’s plain and simple a Mouflon Sheep and yes, they should put the name in the “Adoption link” and also on the animal when it is on the farm.
Posted on June 1st, 2010 at 6:11 pm
It is an Mouflon sheep why should he got an other name, a horse is a horse.
This animal is beautiful, make al those animals like that, please.
Posted on June 1st, 2010 at 6:11 pm
I like the Mouflon sheep in looks and name. That is what it looks like and the breed is significant as it is an ancestor to modern sheep breeds. See: http://www.ansi.okstate.edu/breeds/sheep/mouflon

Farmer Dave said: “Has anyone noticed that the pink dots above ready animals don’t work when you try clicking on them? The cursor just recognizes whatever is behind the dot… at least on my farm it does…”
Hey, Farmer Dave! Try refreshing your farm – not going out and opening it again but actually refreshing the page when it does that. I’ve had it happen quite a bit lately. This seems to fix the issue.
As for naming? I’d call it a sheepgoat.
Posted on June 1st, 2010 at 8:31 pm
..better yet, Baa Ram Ewe.
Posted on June 1st, 2010 at 8:32 pm
I have always loved Farmville’s goats because they are so realistic compared to the other animals. I don’t like all the weird colored cows, sheep, pigs, etc.
When they came out with the Mouflon sheep, I admit on first glance I thought it was a goat, but in real life it is often difficult to tell the difference between many breeds of goats and sheep. They are not cartoon characters.
It makes me happy that they have some interesting sheep as opposed to the white fluffy ambiguous ones and their rainbow colored counterparts with the really wacky antennae on their heads. Yay for Zynga!

This is REALLY old news… I’ve noticed this since i first checked on its harvest percentage…
Posted on June 1st, 2010 at 10:06 pm
That is a ram trust me i know how they look. thats my nickname
Posted on June 1st, 2010 at 10:18 pm
A ram *is* a male sheep.
A male goat is a buck. The Mouflon sheep on Farmville does appear to be a male/ram though.
Posted on June 1st, 2010 at 10:40 pm
I think the No name sheep should be called the “Mouflan Ram.” I feel like this is the most appropriate name.
Posted on June 2nd, 2010 at 12:13 am
I never understood why it wasnt called a RAM… uh hello!?
Seen here on Google as a RAM! http://www.google.com/images?hl=en&gbv=2&tbs=isch%3A1&sa=1&q=Mountain+Ram&aq=f&aqi=g1&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=

the name shows up in the gift box if you have more then one of them in the gift box ( on my account anyway) but when you remove one the name disappears.
Posted on June 2nd, 2010 at 4:17 am

Posted on June 2nd, 2010 at 5:34 am
