You can’t compare the gifts Zynga gave us to cash. It didn’t cost them anything to give everyone those items and in the long run it could make them more money. Was it generous? Yes. But I wouldn’t compare it to a $$ amount.

it’s not really as bad as it sounds. 60cents each doesn’t rlly make anyone rich

Thank you very much zynga.because you love all the players of farmville.i hope that there are more free cash in this coming days
thx zynga//

@Amanda – No, the Zynga Gods didn’t payed for FV$, but they lost that amount (7,200,000$).

I receive nothing!

is true

@Crys7y
You can’t lose $ what you don’t have yet. That’s like downloading a car: LOAD OF RUBBISH!!!!!
Posted on April 18th, 2010 at 2:52 am
oh get a life – they didn’t give us anything – cause you can do almost nothing with 3 farmcash – if so it’s only to encourage us to buy farm cash….

“It didn’t cost them anything to give everyone those items and in the long run it could make them more money. ”
Agree. What is the point of this “article” ? You wanna suck up to them
?

LOL, what you meant to say was that Zynga gave out $0 in Farm Cash, since it is a virtual commodity and costs them nothing to give away.
Every player has the opportunity to get 74 Farm Cash by getting to level 70. Yeah, thanks for that coconut tree, Zynga.
Posted on April 18th, 2010 at 4:02 am
Thank You Zynga!
Posted on April 18th, 2010 at 4:03 am
They didn’t lose that amount because it was mostly given to players who wouldn’t have bought farmcash had it cost them real money.
Posted on April 18th, 2010 at 4:08 am
Exactly. It was originally not supposed to be avilable to everybody. Just the sending around of those who got it “rightfully”, made it available to everybody.
Posted on April 18th, 2010 at 4:09 am
Haha you can tell this came from a FV forum moderator. What a load of tosh.
They technically gave away nothing because it is a piece of code, a virtual gift. You can only compare it to real cash if this stopped the people who received the gift from buying the 3FV$ which I would imagine in many many cases would be not the case.
‘Oh Zynga gave me 3FV$ so I need not bother using real money to get my FV$ yay!’ ain’t going to happen. It will more than likely mean more mugs, erm sorry players buy FV$.
Posted on April 18th, 2010 at 4:32 am
Why can’t people just say thanks and shut their mouths, why, because they like to b**ch about everything never good enough for them! How about the Free FV cash you get whenever you level up, I started a new account for the fun of it and have already in only a few weeks accumulated 22FV cash. thats also not including the BONUS 4 FV cash they give you when you first start out…
Thank you Zyanga

If they didn’t want everybody to have it they shouldt have put a link to be able to gift it to your friend and neighbos.
Posted on April 18th, 2010 at 6:44 am
I am glad to pick up farm cash any way I can, except with real cash.
So, TY Zynga.
Posted on April 18th, 2010 at 7:05 am
they should make a crop of SOUR GRAPES!!
Posted on April 18th, 2010 at 7:55 am
@Crys7y – LOL they didn’t lose any money. You do realize this is all virtual, right.
It’s like me selling this comment for $1. A few people buy it. Then suddenly I post it, now it is free to all. Did I lose money?
NO
Posted on April 18th, 2010 at 8:51 am
Yes, Zynga gave me 60 cents, how very generous. Too bad the prices they charge in their stores are outrageous. $4 for a PICTURE of a horse and $13 for a PICTURE of a dog.
I actually considered throwing a little money towards this game until I saw what kind of highway robbery it was.
Posted on April 18th, 2010 at 8:55 am
@Crys7y You are assuming that every single person who got the 3 FV would have bought it if they had not received it for free. Farmvile would have lost that cash amount in that case only.
But since that is not the case, it really did not cost them anything. Like someone said thanks for the coconut tree lol …. so it really is the equivalent of them adding another free gift in the free gifts section.
Posted on April 18th, 2010 at 10:33 am
Only problem with the Bonus packs is that only one is able to be collected. I have seven sitting in my gifts and every time I try to collect, I am told YOU HAVE ALREADY COLLECTED YOUR BONUS. If we are not allow to accept more than one, then why are they being sent out?
Posted on April 18th, 2010 at 11:12 am
definitely wrong use of the word *theoretically* you cannot loosely analyze something and attach the word theory to it. Theory is always based on profound arguments.
Posted on April 18th, 2010 at 11:32 am
let’s not forget the fact that FV is not their only game! on Cafe World you get to win cash very easily, with those lotto tickets and mystery gifts or with the bride and many other offers….why FV is the one with fewer wining options is beyond me. And they didn’t loose that money..it’s not like the Fcash were a real thing, like someone giving away clothes or food… and also, keep in mind that Zynga wins money even if no one would buy cash… because they get paid if someone plays the game and for the amount of time spent playing it…
Posted on April 18th, 2010 at 11:54 am
I think they had two reasons for giving that amount away. One to entice players who have been gone for a week and longer and two to sell dogs without the worry of it costing real money to get them out of the pound during the two week feeding period.
Even though it is not real money to Zynga when they are giving it away… it is real money when players buy it so in a way they are losing money when people use it to get their dogs out of the pound and without the gift, these same people might have bought the 3fv to get their dogs back.
Either way, it was a nice gesture and really no reason for the sarcasm.
To Linda: you just have to delete the extra ones in your gift box. It was just easier for them to write this program this way and would have been much more complicated for them to write it so each person could only receive one.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? It costs them absolutely nothing, probably made them some money. You see, not every one who gets the free cash would have normally spent real cash to buy fake one. So by giving them these items, its whats called FREE ADVERTISING, it costs Zynga nothing and those that use the farm cash, puts the money back into Zynga pockets. I admit that it was “GENEROUS” or a Creative Marketing Strategy, to keep the players from complaining how Greedy The God of Zynga is. Yeah! they give us free flowers and goats, but the animals that most of us really wanted like the labrador and horses etc, those you have to pay for. Yeah! they are so very kind.!!!!!
Posted on April 18th, 2010 at 7:16 pm
Well, this had me thinking about it for a while.
They are in fact giving us FV$, which in turn, could very easily end in them spending real dollars for it.
Just imagine if tomorrow there’s a new campaign for Sweet Seeds or something similar. If you buy the seeds using FV$ you gained from leveling or from zynga bonus, you are in fact contributing with money you didn’t pay for. And zynga will be paying the equivalent in dollars for it, so they end up paying real dollars.
I’m sure this won’t affect them so much, because they’ll get it back in other ways (advertising, for example).

we loved our gift pack thank you farmville. please bring back the french maison series ! i really need the bistro table, french bike & market cart
Posted on April 18th, 2010 at 8:25 pm
@Bruno, Zynga is really greedy, they will just increase the price of the seeds by 3fvc and donate a lower percentage. PS: ONLY IN THE HAITI EARTHQUAKE FUND WAS A 100% OF PROCEEDS DONATED. In the other Campaign I believe it was only 50%, which meant that by helping others they HELPED THEMSELVES EQUALLY.
PS: there are also stories on the internet that Zynga admitted last month, that they only donated 50% of the actual proceeds both times. Don’t know if its true or not.
Note: I can’t wait to see the stuff they bring out for our dogs once they are grown, wanna bet that most if not all will be fvc, yeah, probaly 25fvc for a collar and tag etc. We thought we were getting a dog for coins, wait for it. It may end up costing us a whole lot more than 65fvc for accessories etc. mmm, a bone for 10fvc anyone?????

“NICE GESTURE” ???
They put 3 fc as a bait to lure back those idle farmers and unfortuantely for them the link got public and everyone took it. putting a bait is not a nice gesture.. they did not intend it to go to everyone but it became so. and as someone said in here its just like putting a free gift in free gift section. Anyways my farm is not loading since I accepted free 3 fc and now my dog is going to run away bcoz i could not feed it and spend that 3 fc on it bcoz of their servers

I think it is unbelievable how people are worshipping Zynga for this move. They should have done this LONG ago! This is nothing more than a marketing tactic, much like their previous sales on “limited time price reduced” farmville cash. They gave a way a tiny bit of FAKE money and for some people, who may have been saving up for a certain item, this got them even closer, prompting them to purchase more farmcash.
If Zynga was smart, Zynga should have included farm cash in the christmas gifts, keep the farmcash in the mystery gifts etc. It is just like any real store having a normal sale…The idea to slightly bring down the price in order to get people to spend more.
This marketing/advertising ploy should not be worshipped nor should Zynga be thanked for giving us this “virtual cash”
Posted on April 19th, 2010 at 6:22 pm
well it’s a good job there’s an unwither included as I can load my farm at all….been like that most of day.
very annoying. clearing cache & cookies not worked either.
always the same when FV add anything new, FV stops working properly. I’ve had probs ever since the new nursery barn
Posted on April 19th, 2010 at 8:42 pm
Thank you Zynga !
Posted on April 19th, 2010 at 9:02 pm
@ Jimmy – The reason they start you out with 5 “bonus” FC and give you 1 for each level up, and give out 3 FC like this is to get you accustomed to buying FC items. If you never got any “free” FC, you’d never be able to buy FC items, so you wouldn’t even care. Once you get used to buying FC items and you run out of FC, you start thinking about buying some with actual money, and eventually cave in. It’s all marketing.
Posted on April 19th, 2010 at 9:20 pm
why are people always complaining? seriously, you are playing f.ville FOR FREE…no,you can’t buy much with 3 farm cash, but it’s the thought that counts.it’s 3 more than you HAD.is this how you raise your children when someone gives them a gift that you feel didn’t cost enough…you complain? wow…if you don’t like it,DELETE THE FREE GIFTS….i,for one, appreciate all the effort that they put into updates and keeping this game fresh and interesting…thanks, zynga!
Posted on April 20th, 2010 at 12:02 pm
Thanks Zynga!!
