Zynga + Frito Lay Promotion “Snack & Play” for FarmVille, CityVille, & CastleVille

Zynga and Frito Lay launched their “Snack & Play” promotion where players can receive free virtual items for purchasing specific Frito Lay snacks. The participating games include FarmVille, CityVille, and CastleVille.
Here’s how it works- when you purchase specially marked Frito Lay products (see list below) you will get a redemption code where you can then go online to redeem the code for an exclusive virtual item for the participating game of your choice. This offer is valid only in the United States.
Which Frito Lay snacks qualify?
- Funions
- Ruffles
- Doritos
- Lays Classic
- Cheetos
- Zynga Game Cards (Purchased at Wal Mart)
Here is the breakdown on what snacks you can purchase to get each specific FarmVille virtual item. For example, if you purchase a bag of specially marked Funnions, you will get the redemption code for the FarmVille Spring Llama.
Super Items
In addition to the regular redemption prizes there are also Super Items. You can receive a free Super Item, which is the Spring Pegacorn for FarmVille, whenever you redeem at least 4 codes and a Zynga Game Card purchased from Wal Mart for this promotion. Note, you will have to redeem the codes for the same game to qualify for that game’s Super Item.
How to Redeem Codes
- 1. Log in to the participating game of your choice (FarmVille, CityVille, or CastleVille).
- 2. Click on the “Game Cards” tab on the in-game top menu.
- 3. Locate the redemption code on the back of your bag of chips or scratch off of your Zynga Game Card.
- 4. Enter the code to get your free in-game virtual item.
- 5. When you enter at least 4 codes from participating chips and at least one Zynga Game Card redeemed for the same game, you will qualify for a Super Item in that game.

I live in Spain and cannot purchase that myself. Could anyone do that for me (I only need codes, you can eat the potatos, I dont like them anyway), for some agreed reward?

I got all the chips and gift card today at Walmart. Had to talk to the store manager and get him to bring the special FritoLay-Zynga display out of the back storage room. He let me get my 5 bags and then rolled the display back into storage. But I got everything – good prizes and you get 1 FV $ as well for each bag. Word of caution – the codes are visible on the bags for anyone to see, copy, use. Wonder how Zynga will deal with cheaters.

Dizzy– $.98 size bag… ask the store manager for the zynga bags. my store was stocked full of regular bags. promo bags weren’t out yet

If it’s like Debi and others say, Walmart may roll the displays out by the end of the promotion. Maybe Z and Frito need to be more clear to the people who manage the stores. I’m not going to beg them to sell me their crap. Fail.

Alotof countries over the world play these games..but when it comes to things like this, a lot of time it’s only for US residents, things that can only be purchased in US..

I went to Walmart today and talked to two managers. Neither of them had any idea what I was talking about. Is this promotion not available yet, or is it only available in participating Walmarts?

Ok, here’s the deal as far as I know:
The specially marked chips will be in a large cardboard Zynga display somewhere towards the front of the store, in front of the registers. They will also have game cards on the display. Frito Lay will be bringing/stocking all the chips, Walmarts should NOT have them in the back of the store (it’s not their product, it’s Frito Lays’). Most stores should have them out by the end of this week. Supplies will be limited. Each bag costs $0.98. I have been to 3 Walmarts, and this is the info I was given. The 3rd one I went to FINALLY had some in stock. I was able to get 1 of each item for myself, and a bunch of extras for my out-of-the-country FV neighbors. (They HAVE been able to redeem the codes! So far, Canada, India, and England for sure.)
(Btw, the dragon is wingless when you put him on your farm – this is a game glitch, and support is working on a fix to give him wings. His fire animation is super cute though, more realistic than other dragons’.)

What if u want all 6 prizes? Are u limited to choosing which 4 of the 5 prizes u want? I mostly want the animals and I just bought the wrong bags and have already redeemed 3 of them but still have the game card code to put in. I really want the lays tree but didnt get that bag at the store today. If I put in code for the game card, is that it? Am i cut off from getting the lays tree still?

I was going to ask where to get this same information…for CastleVille. But it’s on http://www.zynga.com. If there were a Gnome, I would turn the codes in for FarmVille but there’s not, so CastleVille it is…

This might have worked better if they partnered with subway, where there are always chips right there for you to buy. and I’m also not surprised that this is US-only…but I think I can complain about our egocentricity someplace else

I think it is only at the bigger super center stores. The one closest to me (4 miles away ) didnt have them but the bigger wal mart that was a bit further away had them. i recommend u call ur area wal marts and find out. they arent at every wal mart, just selected ones – most likely the big super center ones. also, it is not necessarily at front of store near registers as some have claimed.
each store has them at different spots. i found the bags in the back of my wal mart near the chips and sodas while others have said the display was near the registers in their store. it was on a big zynga cardboard display thing. also, ive read that u have to buy 4 out of 5 different bags plus game card to unlock the special prize but there are no limits to each prize after that so if u want more of a certain prize (once u’ve unlocked the special big prize) u are allowed. so if u want say, 4 dragons or 4 chip trees, u just have to buy 4 of that corresponding bag. there are no limits. so thats cool. i read that on a faq thing about it. just make sure u get a zynga game card and not a facebook or farmville card.

i went to all the local walmarts in my area and the only one that has them is the super walmart. I picked up several of each. going to get the game card later. I did notice though that they were almost gone so that is why I picked up what I did.

lol, I know it’s hard on our non US friends but if you think thats rough , get this! I live in Hawaii! We are the 50th of the United States of America. Everything here, for the most part costs more than the other 49 states. We used to have a Frito Lay plant in Hawaii. We are part of the US BUT we aren’t going to be getting any bags here as far as I know. No wonder so many people still think we’re our own country,, lol

I emailed and asked for help yesterday- since time was running out- and they just GAVE me the 3 items i couldnt get since my local Wal*Mart wasnt carrying the chips. Now, i did get the pegacorn just from buying cards. I dont know if the fact i spent so much weighed on the helpfullness, but it did prove the validity of my claim… and they were merciful!! <3 Zynga
