Zynga on FarmVille Glitch allowing Multiple Buildings (updated)
Zynga is aware that a glitch is occurring that reproduces various FarmVille buildings such as the Chicken Coop, Garden Shed and Tool Shed.
If this happened to you, you do NOT have to delete your excess buildings and will not be banned from FarmVille. Zynga is asking that anyone who experienced this glitch contact them with additional details as they work on a solution.
In a message posted 01-08-2010, 09:06 PM on the official Zynga forums, Zynga Forum moderator “Channel Zero” says:
“For Everyone That Has Had A Duplicate Building Appear on Their Farm – PLEASE READ__________________Our developers are currently looking into this issue and trying to figure out what’s causing it, and any information that anyone who’s currently experiencing this issue at this time would be invaluable to us. If you could, please PM me the following info:
- Your UID
- Precisely what you were doing prior to the duplicate building appearing (Ex. Were you attempting to store something?)
- Anything you purchased or placed prior to the building appearing
- What building duplicated on your farm (so far we’re hearing reports of Chicken Coops, Garden Sheds and Tool Sheds)
Once again, in order to find your UID, in Facebook right click on the Profile link and copy the link location. Paste it into a text document and the number that appears at the end after the equal sign is your UID. Copy that number and send it to me.
If you’ve personalized your Facebook account’s address, you can find this number by right-clicking and copying the link in your profile picture as well.
Thank you for working with us during these technical issues, your cooperation and patience is always appreciated and we hope to have everything sorted out as soon as possible.”

this just sounds like it makes it easier for them to find you if you exploited the glitch. no where does it say they won’t be deleting the buildings?

Well at least we’re safe from our accounts getting banned……..although I must say how could having 2 chicken coops be cheating if a) it was giftable for a short time when it was first released b) we didn’t put the chicken coop on our farms, they did and c) if gold eggs can hatch chicken coops?

Sure Zynga devs. I’ll happily send you my information so that you can fix an exploit you overlooked and do your job for you guys.
You know, I could see if the glitch was harmful to players (e.g. game out of sync, frozen, disappearing items, losing FC etc…) but this is one of those things that yes, while it isn’t how the developers intended, has provided players with a bit of a bonus if they’re willing to take the time to do a barn raising or two to nab some copies of supposedly one-off buildings.
IMO the issue that needs fixing is not the chicken coop glitch, it’s Zynga’s lazy development team that seems to think players are at fault for their oversights. You guys messed up…deal with it.

I should also add that I find it ironic that Zynga promises you will not be banned yet they ask for your UID and previously (now supposedly retracted according to them) suggested that other players do the developers’ jobs by narcing and snitching on those who have taken advantage of the latest result of lazy programming. Riiiiight.

Players who culdnt access their farms and lost out on a day or two or farmving bcoz the game was out of sync or player who did not receive their free fuel, players who lost FV cash where not compensated.. this time it is benefiting the players and they are making a big deal abt it. Its YOUR mistake Zynga

@ Jay – we can play n enjoy the game when it is glitch/bug free. at the moment there are techniq issues every other day.
When the technical issues affected the farmers we were not compensated in any way.
So when a technical issue benefits a farmer for a change, why is Zynga making a big deal about it.
Why didnt they show the same interest and take action and do something abt it when it was affecting us.

You’re missing the point. My point is that lazy QA will result in a buggy game and as a developer you have two choices. Up the quality of your testing procedures to avoid situations like the coop glitch altogether, or accept the fact that you’re going to be running around trying to stick band-aids on everything once the flaws have made their way to the players. To have to nerve to try and nickel and dime players into giving up their UID is shady. I’ve read previous posts where they’ve told users to be patient for fixes but never before have I seen them move so quickly in trying to obtain UIDs so they could “help the players with this oh so awful glitch that just ruins the game for everyone”. Oh please.
I’ve never complained about anything FV related and nor am I planning to start complaining. I simply find it ironic that the Zynga devs drag their feet when it comes to fixing problems that actually need tending to from a playability standpoint (sync issues, disappearing FC etc…) yet somehow a fire is lit under their collective ***es when it’s something people are excited about like multiple coops.

Who do we PM and talk about the glitch that happen? Cause all i did was the barn raising of 3 big barns and a tool shed and i ended up with multi of chicken coops. I notice them as i was trying to put a chicken in the coop and was having trouble doing that. So I tryed to move the coops and everytime i moved one another would pop up and so on.

This is Hilarious to me!! I know exactly how to doThe so called glitch. I hve tried it on many accounts and it has worked everytime. I also thought about telling Zynga exactly how to do it but I don’t wanna!! It’s not that I want anymore cause at this point my friends and I have all the coops and garden sheds we need(some have to many) it’s that I know as soon as I tell them u can say goodbye to my coops which I’m completely in love with and will never part with. If ZYNGA if I thought u would be more fair about what’s going to happen I would tell u how the stupid glitch is done everytime without fail but I know u won’t be fair so I’ll just keep it to myself. The sad part is it’s so easy and everyone is making it sound so hard to do!! Good luck ZYNGA you’ll get it eventually. Lol

Everyone already knows how to do the glitch. There’a a Youtube video with step-by-step instructions on how to obtain multiple coops and garden sheds using the “corner” method.

You’re allowed to buy as many tool sheds as you want. Tool sheds are not a restricted building with a limit. The player is allowed to purchase as many as they want whereas coops and garden sheds are limited to one per farm unless you glitch.

This glitch has fixed already. I got a total of nine chicken coops with that trick and am very happy with it.

I hope Zynga takes away everyone’s “extra” chicken coops – chickens and all. What may have started out as a “glitch” is no longer a “glitch” if there are videos out there showing you how to MAKE it happen. If you lose FC, etc. and you contact Zynga, they do their best to fix it (they have for everyone I know.) Funny how the tides change when the mishap works in the player’s favor. Why can’t people just play a game by the rules without taking advantage of creepy farm bots and glitches. If they don’t take them away then they aren’t making it fair for everyone. Some of you might have gotten them on accident but, from the posts, I can tell that even more of you were only taking advantage of an oversight in the system – it would be unfair to those who have strictly played by the rules for other players to profit in the game by “tricking” the system into so-called “glitches”. If I EXPECT Zynga to fix problems when they hinder my game (which I do) I’d be a total hypocrit to turn around and manipulate the system to get ahead. I think people who are justifying this are being unethical and immature. In fact, if Zynga doesn’t find a way to level the playing fields (one coop – it’s the rules) I’ll be pretty p!$$ed!

What I really don’t understand about the whole thing is why is it so bad that we get an extra coop or two. Heck, just one extra would make peoples lives so much easier and they wouldn’t have to worry about getting banned or losing an extra coop with all of their hard earned chickens in it. If they would have just allowed that one extra people wouldn’t be going so ‘nuts’ right now trying to get one. My question is does raising these barns yield XP? I read somewhere that you get 1200 xp for every barn raised. If that is a fact I am going to raise about 100 of them, lol!!! As far as the way Zynga has treated the whole matter I personally think it is kind of crappy to make such a big deal out of something that helps the players but at the same time as long as they let us keep them they will be pretty darn cool in my book. I don’t think that this is a result of “lazy programming”. I think they are trying really hard to keep the game fresh and new and make more things to do than just stare at our crops and watch them grow. In the process of all this development there are going to be glitches every now and then. Especially when you release as many new things as they have in the past month or two. Does anybody feel me on this matter?

Let me pass this one by you guys and see what you think. I think that maybe Zynga did this whole coop glitch thing on purpose. You say why do you think that Gary? Well, it causes lots more interest in the game and gives people something to try. It makes people talk and you know what they say, bad publicity is better than no publicity at all. The thing that made me think this could be true was the fact that when you remove your new chicken coop off the top of the other one you had originally it doesn’t keep the same color chicken in it. The new coop has a white one in it, where as I had a gold one in the coop it came from. I could be wrong but who doesn’t love a good conspiracy? I know I do!!!

The YouTube video didn’t even work 100% and ur crying about it! Your that kid in school that thought it was unfair that u studied ur ass off and got B’s when kids like me rarely studied and got A’s. HEY BRO sometimes life ain’t fair and if ur not gonna play the game anymore because of it then your just quiter. Zynga will never remove everyones extra chicken coops because it would take them nearly a year to go through every account an do it. RWK, just goes to show that you have no idea that one of the developers only needs to put a simple line of code in that detects if more than one coop is placed on a farm, and BANG, the additional coops disappear, along with any inhabitants, and the UID of the person sent back to them and blacklisted.
Cheating or exploiting glitches is not big, nor is it clever, just goes to show that some people cannot use the “grey matter” that is located in their skulls to be successful at anything. The only losers in it all are the ones that have to exploit glitches.
Moving up levels etc is easy to do very quickly if you use your brain. I started playing this game about 6 weeks ago & at level 40 with several Mastery awards & blue ribbons in all other than The Y of Mystery, Eggscellent & Veg Virtuoso (which will be complete in the morning), now without the need to cheat or exploit glitches. When I show people how easy it is to do, they kick themselves for not realising it sooner.

You guys are pathetic!! I am also lvl 40 and never needed to cheat or glitch anything. I thought it wad unfair that people got extra coops the last time this happened but never said a word. I went on FvF 4 days ago only to discover that this is happening again by accident just move ur coop and see if it happened to u so I moved my damn chicken coop and there was another underneath then I moved the next and there was another and so on till I had 5. Why should I be punished for something that happened on accident?? Yes I tried to duplicate the process on other accounts just to see if there was a trick to it or if it was just random. Zynga would be fools to go through and delete coops and garden sheds when they did this!! They didn’t delete coops the last time this happened and the last time it was actual manipulation of the game to get them. U all may respond however u please this will be my last post. Everybody needs to quit crying and get over it. I’d say 30% of my 100 neighbors have more than 1 coop and I guarntee zynga won’t be deleting 20-30% of farm accounts over this. CAUSE THATS BAD FOR BUSINESS!!!! The multiple coop mistake is fixed but we will forever have our coops an that makes me happy, and really that’s all that matters. Happy Farming Everyone (BRO!!)

I have spent over a hundred dollars (real money) on this game in the last few months. Yes, I know I shouldn’t b/c no it really is not right that they make us pay for all the really great items and then what usually happens is they then will release the items I paid full FVC for in Mystery boxes later on at huge discounts. Anyway, I accidentally ended up with more than one chicken coop, I got 3 of them. The only one that has gold/black chickens in it thus far is my original coop. I can tell you now if they come delete my coops and they get the one with my gold/black chickens then I am going to pitch a fit with them because it’s not my fault that I got extra coops, I did not do it intentionally and if that is the way they want to act then I can take my money elsewhere.

I noticed the other day that when I collected from my chicken coop the pink drop was still there. It wasn’t till reading this that I realised I now have 4 coops all sitting on top of each other. I have now made space and moved them around the farm and filled them with chickens. I didn’t do anything that I am aware of to make this happen, therefore I am keeping them and keeping my mouth shut. I just hope Zynga doesn’t delete the coops, chickens and all.

Chicken coop – fed chickens glitch
My chicken coop showed it had been fed 5 times by friends about 2 hours ago and I was pleased with that. But then it “froze” for a while and now shows only 1 fed by friend. I’m level 40 – without cheating and I only have 1 chicken coop. I refreshed FV several times. Is this only me?

Extra garden sheds are useless. They do not store the extra flowers you harvest. I sold my extra because of this. I am going to get all my chickens out of my coops right now.

Hate to burst all your bubbles I’d get those wonderful eggs out of your coops Zyngas working on a code to fix the extra coops. While I don’t find it fair nor would I do it just for the heck of it. What bugs me is how much all of you are whining and now you’ll loss those extra coops so who has the last laugh now. Zynga !!!!!! They aren’t as dumb as you all think they are

As of 1-22-10 All I can say is the glitch is still not fixed cuz it happened to me with the garden shed. I moved it and wound up with plenty. I log-out and came back and the sheds where still there. I dont know how to replicate it again but just to let ya’ll freaks know .

yea so i was buying a farm house for my farm and i stored it cause i had no room and i was going to sell stuff to make room. So i fixed all my stuff and forgot to put the farmhouse back in so i started planting and then the guy was still planting and i put the farm house in my farm from my storage and if was blurry like when u harvest a cow or something it gets a lighter color and that happen to my farm house. So when the guy stopped planting it put my house on and it cost me 250k and i was so pissed and i looked in my storage and saw there was a farm house. That my story and can i get my 250k back?

I read that the extra buildings that appeared without a reason would be allowed. So today imagine the surprise when my chicken coop just disappeared, although all the chickens ended up in my gift box. That was as much a surprise as when the second chicken coop just appeared.
