must not be an American…I “wasted” my FV dollars on an American Flag and didn’t see it as a waste! Today was a great day to allow it to be sent to farmville friends free…our service men and women have fought for freedom all over the world…pretty sad to be so rude and disrespectful of the USA’s symbol of freedom…Stefan or Stefanie?

@Carla it was Remembrance Day here in Australia on Nov 11. Same concept as Veterans’ Day in USA…but FV didn’t release the Aussie flag as a giftable item (not that my neighbours would appreciate it much if I gifted it). Although I’m sure there will be countless Aussie FV Freaks wishing they could also gift the Australian flag.
Whilst @Stefan’s comments were out of line (“fire sale”? really?), maybe just take a step back…’cos some people seem to forget that FV is a US-based game, so naturally heaps of stuff will be US-culture related/specific. Don’t like the US flag? Not a US citizen or resident? Then don’t gift it and request neighbours NOT to gift it to you. Simple.
As for me, I’m still trying to work out why Maple Trees come in 3 colours.

I find it stupid that Farmville has the American Flag as giftable. I’m Canadian and it is Remembrance Day day today. Remembrance Day is a day to remember the end of WWII, and the soldiers who have fought and fallen for our country (past and present) – I am sure my friends would not appreciate receiving an American Flag as the majority of them are Canadian, considering everything the American’s have done for Canada (in the past)
I think it was a poor choice on Farmville’s part to allow the American Flag as giftable.

@wa2ool – Our SOLDIERS did no such thing. The politicians direct the military to fight different battles. Yes, a stray soldier might kill a woman or child every now & then but they are NOT directed to do that, it’s simply their sinful nature doing what they want.
The majority of soldiers fight in wars their told to fight in. Soldiers join the military because it used to be a valiant thing to do and that’s what most Americans still believe. So as Jewelz said, no one cares about your opinion, especially if you’re going to be an inconsiderate jerk to people that have fought to keep your freedom so you can sit on your butt and play Farmville all day.
The flag was available to gift today because of Veterans Day. I’m proud to say that I was in the Air Force, my Grandfather was, and so was my Great-Grandfather (WWII).

Bottom Line- Zynga is an AMERICAN based company, and thus it is only right that they do more to cater to citizens of their OWN country… I wouldn’t start playing a game on a Spanish website and expect them to cater to Americans.
If you have a problem with that, maybe some companies in your country should learn how to make their own video game?
To anyone who has anything negative to say about anyone who is risking their lives to defend the freedom of everyone in their country- clearly you are the ones who lack morals and ethics!

To those that are offended because their flag wasnt included for Remembrance Day, Veterans day in the US is distinctly different than your Remembrance day. Our Memorial day which occurs in May is more closely associated with Remembrance day. Veterans day is to honor all Armed forces, living or deceased that served in the Military, either peace time or wartime. Memorial day is to honor soldiers who died in battle, much like your Remembrance day. Zynga, a US based company was merely celebrating a US holiday.
To all those who just like to hate, grow up! If you dont like something Zynga does, stop playing their game, but dont spread your hate!! You will all get your “reward” at some point. Karma is a bitch!!!

I am Australian and I am disappointed that only the American flag was giftable. As others have said it was Remembrance Day here in Australia & Canada & New Zealand on the 11/11 as well. I saved up all of my FV$ to buy an Australian Flag and do not regret it for a moment but I know all of my friends would LOVE the Australian Flag for free because most do not have enough FV$ to purchase it.
I think maybe they should release more flags as giftable, I think most people would love to have a collection of flags on their farm. I got gifted an American Flag and have placed it on my farm but naturally, the Australian Flag will be more of a centrepiece than the American flag but that’s not to say that I don’t want it on my farm. Just that I am an Aussie so of course that will take precedence over the American Flag.
I think it was a bit of a “stupid” thing for the creators to do because naturally it was going to start up some big arguments/disagreements.
(and by the way Amy, China is more of a “superpower” these days and will probably continue to be in the future, simply because of the fact that they are so amazing at inventing technological advances.)

I think it a noble sentiment that the guys at farmville should bring out the US flag in honour of their veterans. However, it doesn’t stop me being rather annoyed that i had to fork out 16fvc for my union flag (british), when the American flag is completely free! I should imagine we’ll see alot more US flags than any other nations in farmville now.
Also, someone made a point about remembrance day, which is commemorated throughout the common wealth, as is the anniversary of armstice. How grim lol. I just hope they make other flags free in future!

People just need to grow up! I am proud to be an American and have had multiple family members serve in the armed forces. I almost did myself! Not every one hates americans, I have family in England, France, Italy, Germany, Canada, Ireland, Poland, and the list goes on!!!!!! you need to read history, american troops didn’t go to Iraq to free its people, they went their because their administration said that the iraqis have weapons of mass destruction, also they imagined a relation between Al-Qaeda and Iraq! In addition to farmville being an American based game….isn’t facebook an American based website? I had FB when it first came out when the only language was English. The guy who made the site was American. So for all you that say you hate Americans are saying you hate FB because an American made it and saying you hate farmville because it is an American based game. Just an FYI type of thing.

I personally feel that the American flag should be free. I think all flags should be free. Does Zynga put any of the money from farmville purchases back into the game support because I still think your servers are slow. I am running a pretty speedy computer but only on Farmville does it get bogged down. What’s Up wit dat??
