FarmVille Unreleased Red Biplane
This weekend, lots of FarmVille Freaks such as FarmVille Freak JacobK, FarmVille Freak Ben and FarmVille Freak Gils, reported that the cost of using the FarmVille Biplane seems to have changed.
FarmVille Freak Gils suggests that this is the new formula for the cost of using the Biplane below:

It looks like Zynga made an adjustment to the cost formula for using the biplane over the weekend.
I was able to check on two farms, new formula seems to be:FV$ = roundup((p*d*3,5/1000)-1;0)
[p = number of plots, d = harvest duration]
Can this be accurate? Any other users experiencing this?

The basics of the formula that was reported on Farmville Freak is the same, however the hours have changed, now it is 1 Farmcash for the first 570 hours, then 1 additional farmcash for each 280-290 hours after that. It seems that FV has varies the number of additional hours slightly for each additional dollar so that people cannot exactly guess the farmcash amount.

I guess if the price is going up is cause people are actually using the feature with farmcash, otherwise it would be going down not up.
the thing with fuel is that i think people in high levels stopped playing cause they needed to plant one crop at the time if they didnt want to pay for fuel. it did happen to me with 300+ it got to a point that i was playing less and less. now instant growing will not make people stop planting so i dont think they are in a hurry to make it more available. and if you master your crops in no time, then what?

Still expect this to happen in noe way or another once they realize ppl barely buy them – just like with the “normal” fuel

I noticed this like 4 days ago i used to be so cheap but now its like on average 15 fv cash for a medium time crop (24 hrs. to 10 hrs.). Shame but im glad that i took advantage of it for the few weeks it was cheap. They should really let us use FUEL it makes more sense , in the real world a plane dose not run on cash!!!

I don’t think they changed the formula, I just think it’s random. I had 2 friends plant the exact same number of the exact same crop at the exact same time, and they both used the biplane at the exact same time, and they were given 2 completely different prices! One was like 2 FC and the other was 5 FC. I don’t know if it goes up if you use it more, or if it’s random and they’ll suck whatever they can out of you, or what.

I’m kinda dumb, so that formula didn’t make any sense to me. but it doesn’t really matter. I had the biplane to use it for the first free flight, but haven’t been willing to use my cash just to grow crops. I’ll take me a little (lot) longer, but at least it’s free. I think the biplane should work with the fuel and plowing and stuff should be free fuel.

I think using bi plane is defeating the purpose..if you make 20,000 coins on a harvest why would you wanna spend real money on harvesting any crops!! I used the free run then when I tried to use it again and found out it was gonna cost so much fv cash I sold then plane!! They need to get free uses from mystery eggs or consumables out of the horse stables..or better yet here is a great Idea..when you fertilize your neighbors crops you find one and it will magically make the whole crop 100% grown and when you go back to yours , yours will be grown also!! This will make more people fertilize their neighbors crops!

Very disappointed in the rise of Farmville Cash to use the Biplane. I enjoyed having the choice of spending money for an early crop and quicker Mastery Sign. Now it is soooo expensive, your choices are very limited to what crops you can choose for any early harvest with the Biplane. Not very fair to change the formula without telling your Farmville Neighbors, Zynga, shame on you!

I used it a lot when it first came out because I was so far behind on masteries. I made detailed notes related to the cost per “flight”. About 2 weeks after the release the price jumped up. Now it has jumped up again.
I had contacted Zynga about it the first time I noticed the price jump and they confirmed that the price had changed. I sent the info and the e-mail from Zynga to Farmvillefreak, but it was never published.
I will not se the plane anymore, not worth it anymore.

yes, it is costing more since the 26×26 was introduced…… use to cost 1 farm cash for a four hour crop now it is 3 farm cash for the same crop….. not exactly happy with the change myself!

I haven’t used it lately, but I did notice that the longer you wait to use the bi-plane the less it costs to use. I was using to harvest crops that would mature after I needed to go to bed – with no time in the morning to harvest. That way I could get some sleep and get in my crop. Now that it is so outrageously expensive, I’m just running several different crops with different maturity times. It’s taking longer to master them, but at least I’m not spending any FV.

Hey farmers!
Here’s an idea, but I don’t know if it works:
1. Sold your actual plane
2. Get into the co-op where the prize is a biplane
3. Go for the gold medal so you can have this biplane
4. You have one free flight, because the plane is new, right?
5. Sold this plane once you’ve spent your free flight.
6. Repeat from step 2.
I will try this tonight, just wondering if it could work…
It seems a lot of work for a free flight, right??? :/
Or… you can just use your biplanes as decoration, as I do, hahahaha!!

I don’t see why eveyone is complaining so much. I don’t see the point in using the plane to get instant crops, if I did, I’d master all my crops in no time and then what would keep me playing? Don’t be lazy, people, and don’t be jerks either, it’s a free game, you want it to also be easy AND free. You guys want everything. Lynn is correct. Your first flight is logged. There are no freebies thereafter.
If the cost was one FD per flight, people would abuse the privilege of having the plane. My use has been limited to when I am running late on a scheduled co-op start or need to do a second planting and harvesting in a co-op.

the cost for using the biplane did go up, i was wondering that my self. I tryed too plant 130 plots of red tulips which would cost 6 farm cash but if you wait when its 33% done, its half that which is only 3 farm cash. So if you wait until its almost harvesting, it will save you farm cash. Happy farming everyone.

yeah it did, the cost for using the biplane did go up which makes me mad, i use the biplane all the time when doing coops or too get extra coins. When i planted 130 plots of red tulips and when i tryed too use my biplane too apply instant grow, it would cost 6 farm cash but i waited for 7 hours, and when my flowers were 33% done, it cost only 3 farm cash. So if you wait until half way done or at least 30%, it would save you farm cash in the long run. Happy farming everyone.

Yes, I found this to be the same in my case. It appears to depend on how long your crops take to grow for sure. I guess how many crops you planted are factored in, too. It’s a little crazy, but I guess they want to keep people under the thumb a bit. LOL.

I just tried to use it and was requesting 17 F$ for an 8 hours crop… hummm I don’t think so, the plane is grounded from now on until there is another way of getting fuel for the thing. They tried to do that when the farm equipment came out.. guess they haven’t learn that people will not pay for fuel.

I wish they would fix the reward that the stallion leaves when you don’t get farmhands , arborists or XP.. right now they give you the coins award and it calculates but when you leave the farm it deducts that amt.. I’ve contacted them a couple of times about it but they don’t know what’s wrong.. it’s not just me it’s others too..

It is absoluetely ridiculous. The first time it cost me 1 FV cash and yesterday it said that I had to pay 9 FV cash if I wanted to use it, obviously I stopped using it. When you purchase it says first flight for free and I think I rememeber it said following flights 1 FV each. I didn’t even know there was a formula but I can tell you that I didn’t increase my plots and that this is a total rip off.

I actually noticed the change as well. When I first used it, I didnt understand what it was about since my husband told me it was a seeder plane. And I didnt look into that better. So I wasted my free use. Then i thought hey lets try this. So I planted a 4 day crop and ran my bi-plane over it. It cost me 45 FV dollars. But I wasnt discouraged. I have used it several times. More for trying to get the gold in Coops, or wanting to make sure my harvest was done before bed, if I couldnt get to it in morning. Etc. But then the other day I planted a 3 day crop and thought, hmmm that 4 day one was only 45 so what the hey. WELL it was going to cost me 176 FV dollars. Big change….!
As many have mentioned its a freebie, use the freebie to the best you can. And reccomend to others that they plant a 4 day and use the freebie on that. Otherwise, use it for decoration or sell it. But coming in here complaining aint going to change it. We can always quit farmville if it stresses us out that much. Otherwise just enjoy it, and remember if theres no challenge or competition then its no fun, RIGHT?

The only time I have used my plane is to get a gold on a co-op. It wasn’t worth the farmcash before otherwise.
With the bushels we are already halving the time on our masteries. How greedy are people that they want to instagrow crops for free?

I am not happy with the change…should stay the same as far as I’m concerned…seems to me that FV is beginning to make the turn from being fun and relatively inexpensive (to those who wish to purchase FVC) to Zynga becoming another greedy entity. This keeps up and my farm (and other Zynga games) will go by the wayside. Boo to this!!!!!!!!!!!!

Personally I think they should create a crop that can be mastered. Once we have mastered the crop, everytime we plant and harvest that crop, for a certain amount of harvests we make, we can turn them into fuel. It would encourage people to master the crop, which they could make like a level 80 something crop, meaning you have to be at that level in order to grow it. It’s an idea, since most of us are not going to pay that kind of money. And by making it a level 80 something you could even add a crop that would need to be mastered beforehand as well. This would make it so only the hardest working of us farmers (I’m not even to level 70 yet, so you can see I’m not at the top yet) the advantage of this. You could even make it so all the current crops must be mastered. The harder the challenge, the more likely it is to become! Here is what a mean…
New crop (call it Biplane Corn for the moment)
Biplane Corn = locked until level 89 & until all crops mastered
Once you unclock the Biplane Corn (or whatever the crop would be) you must master the crop, then you can plant and harvest it after having it mastered to transfer into Biplane fuel.
100 Harvests after mastered = one run of biplane fuel

i have noticed that my son uses his plane even wen ther isnt 7 f/v dollars! i went ot use after first noticing it, and come to fined out i couldnt get my plane to work even w/ 5 f/v dollars!! i think i like the idea that it is gift from the stable or an egg? something gots to be different i no that the f/v teeam likes a good challentge but PLEASE this is getiting ridiculous! WAKE UP IT DOESNT HAVE TO BE THAT CHALLENGING!!!

Don’t you people know the more you buy fv cash it will keep going up as long as you spend your hard earned money on their game. They don’t give you but one fv cash when you level up, Why ? They know that you will spend your money to buy the fv csh. Think about it you need fv cash to buy all the new editions they put out to us and you use fv csh for the biplane. So tell me whose making the money here on a game that’s supose to be free.. Just asking..

Oh they changed it 2x’s now. I have about 194 plots, when it first came out, I was able to pay 4fvc to grow peas (a full day crop), it cost 1Fvc to grow the 8hrs or less crop. Then about 3 weeks ago they changed it to about 14 Fvc to grow peas. Yesterday I checked how much it would be to grow sugar cane and its a whopping 8fvc. Compared to 6mths ago when I first started playing, it seems that Zynga is all about cash and we keep helping them make even more. Do you think that Google would have paid 100 million to Zynga if it was’t for every single one of us contributing to their game. The least they could do in return is give us the damn stuff for free or a whole lot less fvc. or allow us to purchase fvc using coins.

Zynga already changed the formula about amonth ago (at least for my farm. I tried to raise a complaint to them (100617-008082), but they tend ro provide extremely evasive answers when cornered… I could always seed 400 blueberries,and fly the biplane for1FV cash to get the job done, and suddenly the required 3 FV cash – 300% is what onecould call a steep increase, seems they’re realle wanting to milk this one
