FarmVille Crop Mastery Changed Requirements Glitch: Now Fixed
***UPDATE: The glitch described below that caused Crop Mastery to change has now been fixed and reset by Zynga.****
In an update made tonight on 03.04.10, FarmVille changed the requirements for some Crop Mastery! Some crops are have lowered and others have increased. This change should have all the FarmVille Crop Profit Spreadsheet analysts busy for awhile.
Since some of the Crop Mastery levels have lowered, it has caused some farmers to now go over the requirements needed to complete Crop Mastery for that specific crop. For example, Blueberries and Strawberries Crop Masteries have both lowered and now Blueberries require only 3,000 points to master.
If this happened to you don’t freak out yet . . . it is still possible to gain your Crop Mastery Sign and XP. Try planting the crop in which you should now have Mastery for and it should re-align everything to be accurate. Remember, you may have to wait for the crop to harvest in order for this to happen. In the past, when Crop Mastery changed, replanting the crop you should now have Crop Mastery for and then harvesting it triggered the ability to get the Crop Mastery Sign and XP rewards.

Did the lower the amount needed for raspberries!? I just mastered them tonight (had planned to). I would be irked if they did. Oh the irony! lol
Posted on March 4th, 2010 at 11:57 pm
it WAS a glitch, and already fixed.
Posted on March 4th, 2010 at 11:57 pm
only like the ones that have een lowered, lol. I find it hard to get crop mastery anyways so not so big of a difference for me xD.
Posted on March 4th, 2010 at 11:57 pm
They lowered the amount for coffee
Posted on March 4th, 2010 at 11:57 pm
It was a bug, it is back to normal now.
Posted on March 4th, 2010 at 11:59 pm
Is it possible to get my mystery signs back or i cant?
Posted on March 5th, 2010 at 12:02 am
they changed them back to normal
Posted on March 5th, 2010 at 12:06 am
LOL! I got the blackberry mastery sign from this!!! I was at 13,000. I harvested at around 1:00, and boom got the mastery sign. Had no idea what was going on, but now I just realize I am lucky!
Posted on March 5th, 2010 at 12:13 am
i was doing the raspberries and it went to 4500 for the third star and then it went back to 15000. what a TEASE!!
Posted on March 5th, 2010 at 12:42 am
well thats unfair. i already mastered the hardes crops, the blackberries, blueberries and raspberries. if they reduce it its not really fair on those of us who worked hard for it
Posted on March 5th, 2010 at 12:47 am
none of mine went down, and I’m on the third star of blueberries. I’d like a reduction. Lol
Posted on March 5th, 2010 at 1:16 am
gee, thanks for doing this right after mastering green tea farmville.
;(
Posted on March 5th, 2010 at 1:58 am
GREAT just as i master strawberries. sheesh.
Posted on March 5th, 2010 at 2:24 am
@ Ks!!
I think just like you!! I’ve been planting blueberries for 6 months now and I’m on the 3rd star with more than 8,000 points and it is so unfair that other people would do it so easily with zero challenge!
I mean they take forever but, I have the feeling that getting everything so easily would also make you stop playing much sooner too.
Posted on March 5th, 2010 at 2:24 am
confused
Posted on March 5th, 2010 at 2:36 am
What?? How can they do that? I feel betrayed. I did a lot of effort on mastering certain crops and now people just get them so easy.
Why can’t they just invent some new permanent crops and give them a low mastery number of harvest?? It would be a lot more fair!
Posted on March 5th, 2010 at 2:39 am
i don’t understand english well..
can you please tell me that you are saying that this is a bug?
It goes back to normal?
Posted on March 5th, 2010 at 2:43 am
I agree with pam. I mastered raspberries and im at about 7000 with blueberries, and I’ve been working on them for a while now.
Side note, I don’t like is 16 hour crops. Very inconvenient amount of time. Lol. I wouldn’t mind if they lowered the mastery for all of those.
Posted on March 5th, 2010 at 2:44 am
7000 on my third star*
Posted on March 5th, 2010 at 2:46 am
Now I get really confused… I just checked my farm and crops and as far as I can see, none of them have a different number of harvests needed. I have about 4 where I am mastering level 3 now and none of them changed. I also got quite some where I almost reach level 2, and again, as far as I know, these numbers have not changed.
Does that mean Zynga has reset again to the “old” harvest numbers??

What you’re seeing with the Mastery Levels for your crops is not due to an intentional change. Our developers are looking into the probem and once we have more information for you, we’ll be sure to update you. For now, we appreciate your patience as we investigate this issue.

Mine is also showing 12k for blueberry mastery and 18,750 for blackberry mastery. I’ve gone ahead and planted both on my farm to see if it triggers any changes, but for now, it is still a ton of berries to reach mastery on either.

this is like the ribbons all over again, i worked so hard to get the one where you visit people’s farms and the high roller too, and they reduced it. what’s the point of making it easy? then it’s not challenging and we’ll get bored quickly. i remember too back when i started on the collecting from animals ribbons, there were no coops or dairies that you could just take all the animals out and put a ready one in, i just filled half of my farm with animals and harvested one by one everyday by hand, it was so annoying. if anything they should be increasing the ribbon requirement to make it more interesting. now it’s all just so easy, which is why i’m getting bored of it little by little. i am level 70 and have completed 24 masteries so far and now all the ones i have left are easy, as soon as i run out of stuff to do i am quitting. i dont understand why they add limited crops, why not make them permanent, or add mastery to them at least, bring a little more fun into it

anyone now why ppl arnt getting any ex pts at all im stuck at level 44 and my ex pts havent gone up since and im losing all my gifts
Posted on March 5th, 2010 at 9:45 am
I worked hard for my blueberry mastery. Screw people if they are too lazy to achieve. I hate this change.
Posted on March 5th, 2010 at 10:08 am
They changed it back to the number it was before…
Posted on March 5th, 2010 at 10:22 am
It’s so funny to read people complain about these things. You “worked hard” for your masteries? I didn’t know sitting on the computer was working hard. It’s more like slacking off if anything. Who cares if they lower the numbers or increase the numbers? It’s just a game.
Posted on March 5th, 2010 at 12:01 pm
What is going on with soybeans? Did they lower that too? It says I have 643/450 yet I still don’t have a sign. I planted more just in case so hopefully when I harvest them it will give me a sign.
Posted on March 5th, 2010 at 1:11 pm
Hey! I’ve mastered blueberries at 12000 and I’m not upset at all! I still got all the xp from planting and harvesting which helped me move up. Part of the game is leveling up. I’m level 70.
Posted on March 5th, 2010 at 1:16 pm
I think it would be good before you gain your mastery.. your crops shuold be ‘inperfect’. What i mean by that is when the crop is ready to harvest.. the crop is Good, but has little imperfections…
When you master the crop, Then your crops will be PERFECT.. Thats How i think the how the mastery should work.
It takes a long time to obtain the mastery signs. Ive gone off trying to get them, ( I have 10) but all you get is the sign (and the bonus whic is good)
however, a newbie crops who has not got the first star will look exactly and yield exactly like a guy who has mastered them..
So in the end pretty much everyone has mastered the crop already.
Posted on March 5th, 2010 at 3:30 pm
If I only cound know what’s the purpose of getting these masters…
No XP, no money, nothing: what for???
Posted on March 5th, 2010 at 5:03 pm
HAHAHAHHA WOW!!!! I just finished green tea march 3rd hahaha so much for planting 7000 of them…. oh well
Posted on March 5th, 2010 at 5:29 pm
Did they aalso change the look of the signs? I just got the tulips and it looks soo small and ugly. I love the pretty ones like, Rice, Grapes and corn. I wish they would post what the signs look like. Where can i find a picture of all the signs?
Posted on March 5th, 2010 at 8:42 pm
Is there a way someone can list the crops affected by these fixes and what they were changed to?
Posted on March 5th, 2010 at 9:06 pm
@Barbara
Yes you do get XP, Coins for mastery. The sign is just for bragging rights.
Posted on March 6th, 2010 at 1:23 am
thats happened on mine nothing changess!
Posted on March 6th, 2010 at 1:40 pm
They should make Mastery of crops a little more challenging…some are way to easy.
Posted on March 6th, 2010 at 10:09 pm
Molly, here is the link for pictures of all of the signs. Scroll down a bit when you get there and you will see them.

Posted on March 7th, 2010 at 10:38 am
my blueberry’s didn’t get fixed… wonder how long it’ll take for them to get to my farm and fix it.
Posted on March 7th, 2010 at 1:02 pm
Great Farmville plans on changing the matery of crops…what happens to those of us who actually did all the work if they lower the quantity to harvest…does that go unsaid?
What genius came up with this idea?
An uphappy Farmville Player

OK I have a very strange question…has anyone noticed on any of their friends farms mulitple plots? I have at least 2 neighbours so far that have what looks like overlapping plots…when I fertilize them each one is recognized? I have not seen anything in the glitches about this…anyone know????
Posted on March 21st, 2010 at 2:07 pm
My blueberries are still requiring me to have 12,000. Should this have been fixed??
Posted on March 28th, 2010 at 11:09 pm
I have difficulties with allowing only specific people to see whatever it is I publish on farmville. One essential part of the game is sharing extras you find on your farm with others. However I do not want to bother my other FB friends who do not play farmville. But 80% of the times I try to use the customize button and click show this post only to selected people, the bottom part of the pop up window disappears and I can not click ok or safe. I have to abort the whole process and not publish. Does anyone have the same problem? How to fix it? Thanks

Arrrrgh!
I needed four more artichokes for mastery! Four!
There I was with 316/320, another fifteen artichokes matured this morning, harvested them…. checked the market and the Mastery amounts have changed. I now need another 420!
My carefully laid plans are in ruins! Four more I needed! FOUR!
Arrrrrrrgh!
*wanders off muttering*
