FarmVille Destination Expansion- A Farm by the Sea in Lighthouse Cove?

Posted on August 17, 2011 9:53 am by FarmVille Freak FarmGoddess

FarmVille Lighthouse

Very late last night emails started seeping in about a possible FarmVille expansion similar to the English Countryside except this time being a “farm by the sea”.

Several FarmVille Freaks, such as FarmVille Freak Wende, were invited to take a survey about FarmVille while they were playing FarmVille. Some of the Zynga survey questions hinted to this new possible expansion and referred to the farm by the sea as “Lighthouse Cove”.

Some of the questions asked what types of items you’d be interested in harvesting (lobsters, clams, etc.) in this new farm near the sea and if you would be willing to pay Farm Cash for early access to this new destination farm via an “express ticket” to travel there by boat.

As you know the English Countryside is wrapping up and its storyline and quests are set to end on August 31st 2011. However, the farm is always yours to keep. This would be the perfect timing for a new destination farm and we are curious to see what Zynga has in the works for FarmVille.

Very interesting, indeed!

Please note, this information is user-submitted and survey related. Zynga has not confirmed this information so at this point we can only speculate. Stay tuned.

What says you FarmVille Freaks? Would you like a farm by the sea? What ideas do you have about this possible destination farm expansion?

  2. Debra Says:

    YAY!!!!

  3. kieran Says:

wow, that sounds good, cant wait to hear more about it

  4. Marguerite Snow Says:

I love this idea I already have a seaside section on my home farm since I live on the East Coast …will love it if we get this ..

  5. Vicky Says:

would be nice but no more quest..

  6. Sue Says:

I’d love that. I already have a sand colored farm with some beach stuff on it. But I can’t do anything that costs cash. Didn’t know the English farm was the 31st. Had been wondering. Thank you.

  7. Stephen Says:

Quick!! This is going to be good … but I would rather they released quests to complete and got people to spend their FV$ avoiding quests instead of an early release for FV$. That way they still get their early arrival at that farm, but the rest of us get to start working on it instead of feeling miserable and having to wait.

  8. angie Says:

    would LOVE it !!!!!!

  9. Erin Says:

would not use farmville cash, only coins

  10. Deb Says:

I have lost almost all interest in Farmville, and barely play any more. But I love the sea, so having a new farm to play with by the sea might get me back into the game!

  11. Josh Says:

I think that would be pretty dang awesome! c:
    Three farms. x3

  12. SUSAN SMITH Says:

i like this… new crops… but the price tag could be enormous!!!

  13. Dee Says:

Would be very interested. Maybe have our avatar go fishing to catch items from the sea., saving drowning victims, etc

  14. Jodie Rainier Says:

NOooooo please give us more land on our original farms for coins…

  15. Lydia Poirruer Says:

New farms are always welcomed… I think it would be a blast!
Although I feel we should be able to bring over any items we already have that would pertain to that theme. crab shack, cliff, hide-a-way cove etc

  16. JoAnn Says:

I might be interested; although two farms are fine–but I don’t know how many of my neighbors who want to help and visit or expand theirs–FV takes lots of time! Would be nice if they would use more coins for purchases. I understand that some go for FV $, but it would be much better if they had a fair amount in the selection that we could use coins for….just something to think about….AND would this new farm by the sea be like the home and EC farms where we can now store and use items on both farms? :)

  17. Kitcaty Says:

I think that FV should get with it and start offering the expansions and new farms for both FV cash AND COINS! Like FarmTown does. You need a lot of coins to purchase it, but if you have them, I think you have earned the right to spend them on the expansions rather than buy FC. Heaven knows that many of of spend way too much on the game anyway, so purchase special items. So… give us a break FV…. let us have the option right up front instead of waiting forever and ever. Most of us wait anyway… don’t we?? ;-)

  18. robin fasci Says:

add boats to deep sea fish and catch fish
    aquariums-
    monsters of the deep

  19. Angel Says:

I think it would be great since the english farm wont have anymore quests. I would ask that grow time be less than the 12 hrs or days it takes to grow most of the crops on all farms. Also make the items availble by coin it stinks that we cant buy them buy coin and have to have farmville bucks. Also on quest or items you need help on and have to post for make it more easily available to finish one without driving people crazy to click to send you one. alot of neighbors dont see the feed from the post OR they just dont wanna click it.

  20. Shannon Says:

Fix the bugs in the home farm first, and less crap to do (IE Craftshop, Silo, pens, etc) OR put the materials in the free gifts (IE screwdrivers, boards, nails, etc) Its getting OLD fast!

  21. Robin Evans Says:

Sure, I’d give it a shot. Always in the market for variety.

  22. FarmRuler Says:

    first. this is really cool.

  23. Jeffery Lawson Says:

i might its hard to keep up with 2 farms but NO WAY WILL I pay farm cash to get the new farm are they out of their minds not everyone can afford it and if they come out with it just come out with it with nothing to do to get it make it fair to all just give it to us then let us harvest different things but nothing like the countryside that we had todo to get the farm which took forever and made it a little boring when some players don’t have enough friends to get the things they needed to get the english countryside farm. Just come out with it and let people work on it without once again any goals or anything you have to do to earn the new farm.. I know of some players that are still having problems getting the 2nd one finished.

  24. Angel Says:

Lobsters , clams, Crab of all kinds. Maybe a seaweed soup, fish and all the different chowders. there is so much you can do with a farm by the sea…

  25. Deborah Says:

I’d love a farm by the sea, however if Zynga thinks I’ll pay cash to get there, they’ve another think coming. I’m still upset with them for their ‘re-vamp’. While the scenery is beautiful, I’ll not be spending cash, mostly because I’ve got NONE lol, but they need to give us back our XP counters, where we can SEE the XP rolling up as we do our coins. I’ll be danged if I’m scrolling over that bar and doing math first thing in the morning (my play time) to make sure I’ve gotten all the XP due me. And with all of Zynga’s glitches and loading issues, I’m not trusting their counts, so I guess that’s what I’ll be spending my mornings on anymore, sigh..and this game had used to be so fun.. :(

  26. Brenda Wilkes Says:

Yes I would love it. if it is done in the same way as EC. Where at the end you can transfer items between ALL locations. More land.. means more items can be displayed and less items stuck in storage because of no room.. LOVE

  27. Willy Says:

You know, I play this game every day, and have almost since it started. I enjoy being able to design, share, all those things that it was designed for. I have bought items with Farm Cash, and will continue to do so for the tings I really want.

A new farm is very tempting, however, it would be nice if Zynga would offer items for both cash and coins every once in a while. This is the biggest complaint of most players. Will I start another farm? A place by the sea would be nice, but it depends on the cost.

  28. Karen Says:

    Riiiiiiiiiiight.

So now all our hard work is rewarded with more work? Nope, not a slave to this game and wont be doing it :)

  29. LAVEDA Says:

This sounds like a great idea. The only problem I have is the cost. A lot of people like my husband and I are on a fixed income. When they offer some of these beautiful things of course we would love to have them. The problem with this is that almost every thing is way out of our reach. My husband will give me 20.00 a month, which we really can’t afford,so I can buy some of the level 1 trees. Other wise I would love to see another farm, especially one by the sea. Hopefully they will make it affordable for us little people too.

  30. Kris Says:

I am having a hard time keeping up with my two farms right now, but welcome new destination farms. It keeps the game interesting….I am hoping I can finish the EC quests before time runs out…Plus with all the cool stuff they put out, it would give us places to put the stuff…

  31. Sherry Tucker Says:

I think that would be fun! Harvest water things, raise lobsters, maybe have an oyster bed to harvest pearls?I wish for this and all of farmville that it wasent all FV cash for the really cool stuff! and i think there should be an option to trade coins for so much Fv cash,i cannot speak for others but when youve got 8 million coins and nothing to do with them, trading for fv cash seems to be a good idea. But FV by the sea! heck yea, roll it out Farmville!

  32. Trix Says:

NO! A person would have to live on their computer to take care of another farm. This is just another scheme for Zynga to make more money. They need to fix all the issues with the two destination farms they already have out before EVER thinking of adding something else.

They need to take things off FB; the spam it creates now is huge…. not more! There are things they can do to better the existing farms!

  33. Link Noneya Says:

I’d love a farm on the beach, especially if instead of crops you fish.
However, I can’t say I would want to pay FC for it.

Whatever happened to that Space Farm they showed us on April 1st? That’d be an out of this world farm!

  34. Greywolfz Says:

I like the idea of a seaside farm but I think they need to get some issues fixed with the first two first… It would be nice if they also made more things for sale with fv coin instead of fv cash.. I cannot afford to be buying fv cash…

  35. millie Says:

I WOULD LOVE IT…AS LONG AS IT DIDNT COST A FORTUNE AND WE ARE ABLE TO INTERTWINE ALL 3 FARMS TOGETHER SOMEHOW……MOVING THINGS FROM FARM TO FARM IS A MUST OR IT’S NO GOOD!! bUT THEY HAVE HORSES THAT ARE WILD THAT LIVE NEAR THE OCEAN AND THEY COULD USE THEM AND ALL KINDS OF COOL THEMES…ZEUS..NEPTUNE,MERMAIDS,ETC…AGAIN,IT JUST CAN’T BE A LOT OF CASH BECAUSE WE ARE IN HARD TIMES RIGHT NOW AND A 3RD FARM WOULD BE HARD FOR A LOT OF US BUT FUN TO DO IF DONE RIGHT!

  36. Deborah Says:

Only if we didn’t have our English farms. Maintaining 3 farms would be way to time consuming and I don’t work! But HELL YES I’d love another FarmVille Challange.

  37. Maria Says:

Love the idea!!!! Yeah, somthing to look forward to….something new. I love FV and I am thankful for the game, the quests and all the ideas you put into this game. Thank you!

  38. domen151 Says:

I like this idea (But i will like Mars farm more ;) :) And i dont want hundreds of new quest. I hope that we will be able to use home and english storage without doing quests :)

  39. Sue Says:

As a collector of anything lighthouse….I would LOVE this idea…..Thanks for keeping Farmville fun

  40. Deborah Says:

I agree with Sherry and the others. We deserve to have an option to trade our hard earned coins in for dollars. I personally have 20 million coins, I’ve bought FV dollars but certainly cannot afford to do it often. They also need to make some of the special things you have to purchase, unwither, turbo, etc as gifts you can either find in mystery eggs or while harvesting. I’d sure like to get something besides another chicken I end up selling.

  41. Susan Says:

All of this is great, but FB and Zynga need to keep in mind that most people who play farmville and other games for long periods of time everyday do so because a lot of them are home on a fixed income (retired, disabled, unemployed) so to provide anything more for FV$ is futile. Since I am stuck with a desert theme because I cannot afford to pay for FV$ on my home farm a beach farm would be great.

  42. Bea Says:

LOVE THIS IDEA…WOULD DEFINATELY LOVE TO HAVE A FARM LIKE THIS!!!!!!!

  43. hairball45 Says:

I have slowed way down on my farming, started fading away about a month ago. There are just too darn many side games – breeding multi-colored animals (huh?) beach games, second farm and so on that it just sucks up too much time that can be spent doing real world things.

  44. Pokerface Says:

Well, something new is always nice, but does the new farm have anything to do with farming? Maybe they should start a new game called BeachVille instead and return FarmVille into a farming game again…

  45. Cara Says:

Lighthouse Cove? Love it! Zynga could include real lighthouses from the East Coast, West Coast, and the Lakes region. I missed not seeing the New England theme this year, so I welcome this nautical idea! The beach theme was great. My seagulls will happily move to Lighthouse Cove if this is a go. They will need some french fries to coax them over. : O )

  46. Natalie Says:

I have expanded both my farms to max..i would love another property and being from the east coast i would LOVE this…awesome..i can hardly wait..it would make my day…..whoooopeeeee.

  47. bored Says:

If that would be the case..we all need more FUEL..at least have it on the gift page permantly.

  48. Lynn Says:

at the point now where I am having trouble keeping up with two farms….and have all but given up on the other farming game I sorta, kinda, play where you can have 12 – I have six there…I just play FV more because more of my friends play it.

I wish that Zynga would spend some time working on loading issues. The craftshop especially is incredibly slow…click, wait, click, wait, click, wait….all that said, yeah, I will probably go for another farm (glutton for punishment?) but not in a hurry to pay farmcash for it…

  49. Catherine Says:

Awesome! I like the idea of the coastal farm better than even the English one! I don’t mind doing more quests, really… I mean, look at how much time there was for England! I guess I should start saving up more money! :)

  50. Terri P Says:

Think this is a great idea, but let us pay for it with coins. Give everyone who wants a “farm by the sea” a chance to have one, not just players who can pay with farm cash. Items are getting way to expensive; 26 farm cash for horse is a terrible thing to do to players.

  51. a Says:

I would like the idea , but won’t pay fvcash to arrive early as others, but I feel ashamed to say that I will be happy, cause they have so many glitches to work on (building going oversize , hard time for some people to gift or receive then ticket for the ruffle, ect ect …. ) Than I will 100% prefer they work things out , than just create more bug.

But At the same time , I want that expansion too. ;0)))

  52. Richard Ulrich Says:

This might make me …regretfully..give up FV. I really enjoy playing but 2 farms are close to over taxing my time. A 3rd farm would truly be to much. Simply ignoring the 3rd farm is not an option..because all my neighbors would be using theirs..and I would start to feel like a sub par farmer..draining all the fun out of it

  53. Speedythecat Says:

YES i love my beach themed farm! i would love this!

  54. Stephanie Says:

I REALLY hope this is going to happen, Ive been wanting a farm with a water theme foreverrrr.

  55. pat starnes Says:

    hello all,

this all looks interesting..my first time here..

    c ya.

  56. Claire Barnet Vosburgh Says:

On one hand cool. I am already running out of space on my england farm and I can only expand 2 more times. BUT. What I DONT understand, Actually what just totally BAFFLES me…is that they have ALL these people working NON STOP on bringing out ALL THIS NEW STUFF Instead of having them fix all the major problems that started MONTHS ago. My ‘SEND’ box has not worked in MONTHS. I cant share baby cows, trees, foals…NOTHING. I CANT ask for stuff that I need. Every once in a while one will pop up, but its like one out of 15 or 20 times. It’s real frustrating not being able to share anything. They just keep saying, oh be patient, be patient. RIDICULOUS!!!!!! THIS should have been fixed a LONG LONG time ago. But hey, just keep making new stuff and bring NEW PROBLEMS and dont even BOTHER to fix the old ones…..That makes SO MUCH SENSE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  57. Craig Koichi Noda Horikawa Says:

I’m looking forward to this. :) More land to master crops, animals, and trees.

  58. Donna Says:

    im ready, sounds great :)

  59. James Says:

SLOW DOWN!!!!! Good Lord, I can’t keep up and I can’t LIVE in Farmville. I can’t get one project finished without them rolling out 3 more, and they’re all FULL OF BUGS! It’s starting to feel more like work than fun. And the greed is UNBELIEVABLE!! Whatever happened to paying $30-50 for a really cool game, (ONE THAT WORKS!) and playing it on Playstation or whatever, leveling up at your own pace, and getting the premium items for your hard work, not because you paid even MORE money! Someone’s going to come out with a farm game like that and sell a million. They can even make them so you can play online with your friends now. If Zynga doesn’t start looking at the big picture instead on short term gain, then people will eventually wise up and just walk away with their cash in hand! They could come out with other games occasionally like The Sims do to create additional revenue. That is the future Zynga. Actually it’s the past and people need to learn that new is not always better. I’m sick and tired of being bled dry. I’m mighty afraid the money I’ve invested in this farm will someday be all for nothing when enough people get tired of this and the company folds. Come on developers. If we pay this much money for a game that doesn’t work properly just think what we would pay for one that DOES and then doesn’t keep asking for more money.

  60. brittany Says:

I personally HATE the idea but i also dont like the english countryside either! How about giving us a expansion on our home farm, you know where it all started and what brought you in the big bucks originally! Im not talking about a bs baby expansion either like they normally are, im talking about a expansion that doubles the size of our farm!

  61. LINDA WRIGHT Says:

I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE A FARM BY THE SEA! BEACH HUTS WOULD BE GOOD! SEA SHELLS ! ANYWAY I ENJOY PLAYING FV. ITS HARD FOR ME TO GET FV DOLLARS THOUGH!

  62. Sylvia Albrecht Says:

this is a wunderful idea, i want this farm, but not for cash all items must bye for coins

  63. donna Says:

yea farmville by the sea and add sea creatures would be cool

  64. Jay Jules Says:

    New Hampshire everyone. New Hampshire.
    Check this out: http://www.lighthousefriends.com/light.asp?ID=665
haha, it sure is coming soon enough!

  65. Grace Says:

Wow now that sounds really different. Hope it does come.. I have played here since Jan and just love the1st farm and now the EC farm too.. I have been so addicted to Farmville that my familyl feels neglected. Cause any spare moment I have I am right here. I am on a fixed income so FVCash is hard for me to come by but I buy what I can and hope coins will be used more so..Thanks FV hope this is not just a rumor about Farm by the sea..

  66. Karl Says:

It looks nice, but I’d rather see all bugs ironed out before. And I won’t pay FV for it.

  67. Billy Says:

    Lets go fishing. Love it.

  68. Couchyf Says:

Are you kidding me? Zynga can’t even keep the two they have running properly without it having glitches… & now they want to release another one :|

  69. Darlene Martin Says:

This sounds totally cool…..!!!……be there in a heartbeat……!!……lets go fishing….!!!

  70. Kirstin Wallace Says:

I am getting REALLY tired of all the new stuff!!! I started playing when the game was new, and recently have been seriously considering quitting!! It shouldn’t take me 3 hrs each night just to play a game! There are days where all I have time for is a quick harvest and replant, but with all of the other stuff to do it ends up taking much longer than it should!!

  71. Tara Says:

I’d rather have more English Countryside quests or a different location, to be honest :)

  72. Debbie Hancock Says:

It would be great to have another farm i am really excited at the prospect, however, yet again it would appear that those who can afford to purchase farm cash would get priority whereas those of us that have better uses or family to use our hard earned cash on will as usual be left behind, they should be more fair about this and perhaps have a choice of farm cash or farm coins as most of us work darn hard on our farms and though Zynga is a business it should still be fair and consider all their players :)

  73. Outre Fulsome Says:

    Bah!

Not if they do all Farm Cash and especially not if they do not tell us ALL when the Missions will expire with this one.

Zynga is getting tiring the way they are slinging the players back and forth, and for what? Nothing.

If they shut it down tomorrow – what would you have? Nothing. No wait, I’ll amend that, you’d have a headache because of all the crap they’re doing.

I just love how they are refusing to let us use Farm Cash we already have to do the donations towards Causes. Can you get any lower Zynga?

You know they DO get paid for those promotions they have us do for the piffly little Farm Cash, else they wouldn’t even consider them.

They can go suck an egg with their greed and see how far it gets them. There are many, many other games that are far better in the world, even right here on Facebook. Zynga is missing the boat on this one.

  74. Helene Says:

I received a pop up tonight saying I will be receiving a boat to go to this paradise cove soon

  75. calla_lilly Says:

A few minutes ago while I was working on my farm , I received a pop up message regarding the Lighthouse Cove and a B&B inn, and it stated that ” my free boat” ticket will arrive soon.

Unfortunately when I tried to create a screen shot of this my PrtScn wouldn’t work and my screen frozen. :(

Am excited to find out the details, how ever I hope Zynga will not be greedy and it will only be available for a ton of FV cash.

  76. princess Kooter Says:

Oh HELL NO!!!!! I am not playing another farm. I tend 3 accounts now and that is already 6 farms. 2 for each account.

  77. Molly Miller Says:

I would be thrilled tohave a farm by the sea! Seafood, specialty restaurants, boardwalk items….I’, totally ready!!!!

  78. Terry S. Says:

I really wish they would let us go ahead and have Paradise Cove without buying a special ticket to be one of the first to experience this new expansion. Why does everything always have to cost FV dollars? People get tired of this FV cash thing!!!! Every and all items should be available for FV cash and coins. That way everyone has a choice as how to purchase things! Paradise Cove will probably be a good thing but they should quit having so much stuff for FV dollars!!!!

  79. Dinah Braun Says:

I accidentally placed to Duckula Castles on my Lighthouse Cove area. Is there any way that I can combine all of the items from both castles to one of the castles and then delete one of the castles?
