FarmVille Garages and a Guide to How They Work

The new FarmVille Garage feature provides storage for your FarmVille Vehicles and also allows you to upgrade all your FarmVille Vehicles, which improves their productivity and thus your farming time!
Although not everyone has access at the moment, in the future everyone will have the opportunity to build their own Garage.
Here is a guide on how this new feature will work.
FarmVille Garages
Function:
- Garages provide storage for your FarmVille Vechicles including Tractors, Seeders, and Harvesters.
- You can also use Garages to upgrade your Vehicles, which makes farming faster.
- Vehicles that are stored in your Garage can still be used as normal.
- You may only have one Garage per farm.
- Biplanes cannot be stored in Garages.
Requirements for Garages
- Unlocked at Level 22. Level 22 farmers and above will be able to purchase a Garage frame.
- Cost is 50,000 coins from the FarmVille Market.
Building a Garage:
- Similar to other Buildings with purpose i.e. Japanese Barn.
- Building the Garage is very similar to building a Japanese Barn.
- Required Construction materials include:
-10 Boards -10 Bricks -10 Nails
3 Ways to Collect Garage Buildings Supplies:
1. Free Gifts from Neighbors
- Neighbors can send you materials via the FarmVille Gifting Page.
- Gift Page supplies are randomized.
- After accepting, Free Gift can be found in your Gift Box.
2. Ask For More Option
- When “Looking Inside” the interior of your Garage, each building supply will have the option to “Ask For More”.
- Using the “Asking for More” option will let you select friends to send Gift requests to.
3. Farm Cash.
- Click the “Buy” button for each supply that you wish to purchase with farm cash.
- You can chose to purchase supplies individually with farm cash at any point in the building process.
- There is also a “Complete All” button that will buy the entire completed Garage.
Garage Storage
- Garages can store up to 20 Vehicles.
- After completing your Garage, it will unlock the “Upgrade Vehicle” function.
Upgrading Vehicles:
- After completing your Garage, you can upgrade your Vechicles, by clicking the “Look Inside” button on your Garage.
- Upgrading your Vehicles will increase the amount of plots they can cover.
- The higher level your Vehicle is, the more plots it will be able to work at one time.
- Currently, the highest Vehicle Level is 4.
- Completing your Vehicle Level will allow you to post a FaceBook newsfeed and share a part with your first 10 friends that click.
Vehicle Parts for Upgrading Vehicles:
- Upgrading your Vehicles will require you to collect Vehicle parts. Vehicle parts can be obtained 2 ways:
1. Ask For More Option
- Garage Menu will have “Ask for More” option under each part that allows you to select friends to send your gift request to.
2. Farm Cash.
- Purchase Vehicle parts directly with farm cash.
- You can purchase parts individually at any part in the building process.
Upgrading Vehicle Level Requirements:
- Level 1: 2 Parts
- Level 2: 5 Parts
- Level 3: 10 Parts (Level 26 and above)
- Level 4: 15 Parts (Level 26 and above)

All my farming vehicles are Hot Rod…i do 9 at a time now, will the garage benifit me or not? i would have to make space for it, which will be a pain, but i will if it enables me to do even more… Thanks

i had a pop up when i entered the FV site, but didn’t have room on my farm yet, wanted to see how much room it would take, went to the market, and it’s not there..what’s up with that?

NO, I will not participate……what happened to Farmville finally listening to us and fixing all the glitches before releasing anything new.
The game is playing worst than ever. The heart of the game, collecting items is a mess. Feed posting problems and links that can not be collected are causing us to lose multiple items. It’s turned into a crap shoot whether you will be able to post an item or your neighbors will be able to collect.
Would like to thank FV for the pop-ups for our neighbors that we need to “bring back to farming”. Even though they slow our farm loading down…….FV is letting us know what neighbors we need to remove/block.

i completed the garage and upgraded both the harvester and seeder to 3×2.!
by the way making the vehicles upgradeable makes the up coming seeder pointless.unless you want it for the looks.level 3 seems to be 3×3, i’m guessing level 4 would be 6×6 perhaps???

@Pam: The HotRod vehicles start out at level 3 since they are 3×3 (9 plots) . . you can then upgrade them to level 4 = 3×4 and then level 5 = 4×4 (16 plots). Hope this helps:)

Right, I’m wondering the same as Pamela… I have hotrods… does that mean I can build a garage and upgrade my hotrod vehicles too… past 9 plots??
In my opinion they should as well seeing as how people who purchased them had to pay more either with Mafia time or Farmville cash. I bought mine with cash since the Mafia promo was over so… seriously they should allow us upgrades as well!

Not to sound arrogant but this feature doesn’t really count toward IPhone users. Because we can already highlight the entire land, let go, and the vehicles will plot. If you have the FV app. on your mobile device and you too are able to do this, then I implore you, don’t waste your time.

Yes I have a garage started. It is great -it will free up some well needed plots by moving the vehicle into 1 building. Do the Covered wagons count? I would like to get them out of my regular storage, so to free up space for buildings I’l like to store. Covered Wagons/Wagons are a form of a vehicle!

You can upgrade hotrods. My hotrod tractor now plows 4×3 after one upgrade. Next one will probably be 4×4, then 5×4 and 5×5.

I am glad to see this for sure, with the largest farm size plowing and seeding and all takes forever. I only have the hot rod tractor and wasn’t paying so much to get the other two in hot rod, so I welcome this. I still can’t share feeds when trading in collections or from within my bakery or winery though, wish they would fix all of this crap, I can’t share samples or anything.

Might just be a coincidence but me, my sister and my nephew, we didn’t have the garage available. I got mine unlocked by clicking on a link at farmvilles twitter account. I went to my sister and nephews account and they didn’t have the garage so I tried the link on fv’s twitter account and they got their garages unlocked.

For those who complain complain complain, get a life and let Farmville come second!! lol. Got my garage. Had extra supplies in gift box, was done in no time. And yes it makes sense to have. 1 building or 3+ vehicles… DUH!!

I’m not going to bother. I have enough buildings and don’t want to upgrade my vehicles.
Here’s a tip for those having problems w/collecting and posting feeds. Switch to Google Chrome. I switched two days ago and have not had a problem since. I only use FireFox for my regular stuff and Chrome for FarmVille only, It works like a charm!
Too, if you think about it, it seems like no sooner did Zynga announce a partnership w/Google that working on the farm in Explorer or FirefFox has become a nightmare. Preferential treatment? Better programming w/Chrome?
Trying to farm in FireFox, I would get numerous “saving your farm” , blank white pop up whens harvesting my coop, stable or dairy. I didn’t buy into the spa, winery or bakery so I don’t know about those. Yet, since switching I have not had any problems at all. FarmVille like it should be…except for all the stupid “bring your friend back” pop ups. ~lol~ Those are still there. =]

20 vehicles? And just what 20 vehicles are there? I’m counting a harvester, seeder, tractor, school bus-tractor and airplane (which doesn’t count. That’s 4 vehicles – 5 if you count the upcoming pickup truck. Are we supposed to buy redundant vehicles, just to upgrade them for the gearhead ribbon?

i have to laugh when i see all these peopel complain about how they dont have room. which means either u dont want to sacrafice a small part of your farm land (OMG) or you have a cluster of cramed together buildings which makes the farm look like crap anyway. SELL SOME STUFF! You dont have to collect it all, it comes out weekly you know.

#14 – I agree, if we spent a Truck load of Farm Cash to get the Hot Rod series of vehicles, only to find that now we can upgrade the original coin based versions – where is our refunds.
#22 – Yes it may be redundant but if you wanted to collect all the ‘vehicles’ my count stands out 12 (13 with biplane). The original 3, plus the pink tractor, the Mafia set, the Irish set, the School Bus and the yet to be released Pick Up Truck.
The fact that there are 20 ‘parks’ available in the garage hints that other vehicles are on there way.
#25 – What you have to understand Chris is that most peoples buildings are purchased with Farm Cash, in most instances these purchases equate to just under $10. It might not seem like much to you, but considering it’s for something on a computer game, my priorities say it is a lot of money to me.

Tha last few weeks of FarmVille have been awesome. The Crafting cottages essentially allowed us to make Fuel, become independent of fuel and now the Garage allows us to save space and extremly reduce the stpid click- work involved in harvesting, seeding and plowing hundreds of plots! Thanks Zynga!

The FarmVille app on the iPhone is now stuck. If you have your vehicles in a garage, you can’t use them unless you take them out of the garage…plus it constantly goes out of sync….I’m REALLY starting to get annoyed with these technical issues….

This article says the highest level is 4. I have the School Bus plow which started off at level 3. It can be upgraded to level 4 with 10 vehicle parts. And this article says I can upgrade it once more with 15 parts which would be level 5. So is the highest level 4 or 5?

#30 & #25: I have LOTS of buildings and have never paid real money for farm cash (have used a few promos, though). Love the fact that in my Tuscan barn, I have a villa, a few cottages, a maison, a swiss cottage, and a couple more! LOL
And I’m really happy that I’ll be able store the big clunky, ugly seeder and tractor in a little garage, without having to hide them in the trees!

I only wish the garage itself were more attractive. I think a couple of vehicles sitting under a tree looks less cluttered than another open-door, run-down building with a giant tire propped against it. I’ll probably build mine and then stick it in the barn. Intrigued by the number of “parking spaces” in it, though!

I received the option to build the garage, but it locked up my farm. The only way to unlock it was to exit gack to Facebook; when I did that I lost to garage invite and haven’t been able to find it or get it back. The same thing happened the the Japanese Barn. I have all these parts coming in but can’ use them. Any one know how I can get the garage option back????

I have purchased my garage, I’ve finished building it and am now trying to upgrade my vehicles. However, every time I use my vehicle parts for the upgrade, at one level it will reset to “0 out of 10″ and my parts just vanish! I’m sooo sick of this!
Love the garage tho, was more than happy to buy one today!

I put trees in front of my finished garage. No ugly tires for me.
Have upgraded my 3 vehicles to the max. Why would I want to buy more for the Ribbon? Unless they can do something other than plow, seed & harvest, they would be redundant.
Am glad to have freed up some space and to get rid of the trees I was hiding the seeder & harvester with. I got rid of the original plow when the school bus came along.

Iphone stuck since veichles in garage. You need to buy extra vechiles and have them on our farm. It wont go out of sink then. Just buy the cheap vechiles it works the same. xx

Question: the garage holds 20 vehicles. but you really only need three…why does it hold 20? what are the benefits of having more than one tractor? (or is it just 20 incase you have the hot rod, pink, red, etc)?

the 20 vehicle storage capacity helps you earn the ribbon easier, also it keeps the limited edition vehicles like the ones from st. patty day

but mostly so they can get more money spend on farmcash from it, if it was only 3 your wouldnt have to feel you have to upgrade your whole colletion, and spend less (for the ture addicts the do anyways)

Does anyone know if the “vehicle upgrades” remain with the vehicle one you remove them from the garage? I have already upgraded my Hotrod Plow, Seeder and Harvester (all three at 4×4 now) and I love having them a building that takes less space than the three vehicles (so those will never leave the garage). I have the School Bus plow and want to upgrade it too. However, I don’t know if my upgraded School Bus will lose the upgrades if I take it out of the garage and put it back in front of my school.
I know it would make sense for it NOT to lose the upgrade but we all know how FV can be…… well…… less than logical. lol.
Anyone got an answer? Aloha and thanks in advance!

Major flaws in the programming members are not able to place parts do to glitch listing all vehicles fully upgraded when their not new features cause cascading failures in the whole application using the gift boxes causes a out of sync state using upgraded equipment causes and out of sync state. Building coming up missing animals gifts the whole game is not working right or just plain not working. Neighbors are feed up and deleting plots and whole farms and walking away from the game I have lost 5 in last two days. Every day its I am sorry this is not working were fixing it next day same deal different problem.

I for one like the new garage. I have done alot of the co-op jobs and have tons of buses. I really don’t want to sell them right now so they’ll go in the garage. I also have the hot rod set of vehicles. ok I spent time in Mafia wars earning them. that was my choice. now I am spending some fun time enjoying exchanging parts with my neighbors. After fv added the crafting cottages my farm was super slow to load, oos errors & saving your farm notices every third click of the seeders & harvesters for almost 2 weeks. I still choose to play the game. that is my choice. nobody makes me play. when I choose to spend fc I make the decision, and the exact price is right there to see, so if I spend it and sometime later they update the game to benefit everyone, well so be it. that was my choice at the time. what people seem to forget is THE GAME IS FREE! It is also still in beta just a little over a year old. ok so there are lots of errors and whatever, but when they are changing the code they don’t shut the game down till it’s done, which would be much easier when they are making new changes. If everyone keeps complaining I see them doing just that. then they will complain because the game is down. People complain because of the errors, because they add new features, because the game gets boring when they don’t add new features, on & on the complaints go. People get a life, play the game and enjoy it. It’s not a major catastrophe if there are errors or problems. the fv crew always end up fixing stuff the way it should be so what is the big deal. Oh and by the way, if you aren’t enjoying time swapping with neighbors, well maybe you need new neighbors.

So I’m confused….The garage takes up more space than my 3 vehicles….that doesn’t seem quite worth it, especially since i have hotrods. Am I wrong on the space issue? i didn’t actually place it since i don’t have room.

If you have an iPod touch or iPhone you’ll have to keep your vehicles outside the garage after you’ve upgraded them.They won’t start up in the garages when you touch the screen to plow or harvest or seed.
I only upgraded my harvester though…the tractor and the seeder I can use w/ the iPod touch.I use my harvester on my Mac and use the bushels to gain mastery points…you can’t use bushels on the iPod touch as of yet that I’m aware of.

The garage is great! Its a good size and frees up more room than you realize your farm machines were taking up. I do wish the bio plane would go in there but maybe with time. This is one building that I really find useful and a decent size. NOW bring on the cellars!!!!!!!!!!!!

To Sarah #68. The garage only takes up 2×2 spaces (4 plots). Each of the vehicles takes up 2 plots a piece, so you should save a couple plots even if you only have 1 each of the tractor, harvester, & seeder. I don’t know how the parts would affect your hot rods and if you’d be able to upgrade those even farther. Hope that helps you in your decision!

I view the garage directly and my lucky tractor is fully upgraded, I go to add parts to other vehicles and suddenly I can still upgrade the lucky tractor – whats the deal!! None the less a good addition to the game

I finally reached Level 4 on vehicle up-grades & FV is telling me I have to buy parts for them!! It won’t let me use the free parts on the last 15 per vehicle. Is that correct?? All I get is Buy Parts or Cancel. : (

I have had all of my farm vehicles upgraded to the maximum 4×4 for about a week now…it is a total God-send! The whole process takes so much less time and it is completely worth it. Just keep sending vehicle parts as gifts to friends and if they are good, you’ll get lots back. I hope they eventually allow further upgrades…I think that 5×5 would be ideal…

Can someone plz help me before i blow my stack at this god forsaken game.
Now that i have put my tractors etc… in the garage and upgraded i cnt get them out. i need them out as im trying to harvest, plow and seed on my iphone and its no longer doing it.. im guessing this is why cz it was working fine earlier.

Oh, GREAT! Now I find out the garage won’t let me get past 15 vehicles without eating up very many antique tractors, seeders, harvesters, pink/red tractors and countless numbers of vehicle parts!!! Out of Sync error pops up during the 0 or 15 process and all is lost after refreshing. I can’t believe this has happened for so long before I caught on…no thx to a ‘no reply’ from Zynga!! Thats alot of lost coins!!

fv has taken 2 of my tractors, 1 antique & 1 pink. it is bad enough all the gifts we lose when we try to accept but, now we have to put up with FV taking equipment from us. Can’t you people get this crap straightened out it is getting old & the reason people are giving up & changing games.

Seems very stupid to me, they have increased the limit of storage buildings you can buy, NOT the amount of items the buildings can store… wouldn’t that make more sense since we store items to save space? (-_-)
I hope there will be a storage shed for vehicles one day too.

I’m happy with my garage and storage cellar and since I built my winery I have more fuel than I can use ^_^
