How do I Fertilize my crops in Farmville?

Q: How do I fertilize my crops?
A: Fertilizer was introduced into Farmville as part of The Crop Whisperer Ribbon. You cannot buy Fertilizer in the Farmville Market or purchase it with coins or FV$.
While visiting your neighbors/tending to your neighbors’ farms by weeding or getting rid of pests you will randomly be given the opportunity to Fertilize their crops with Farmville “Super Grow”. The Super Grow fertilizer will appear at the bottom of your screen, near the Fuel.
You are only allowed to fertilize up to 5 plots per neighbor and are given 2 XP for fertilizing each plot (Potential to gain 10 XP per neighbor). You may not fertilze your own farm’s crops.
This is a random event in Farmville and there is no way to “cheat” it as of yet.
Fertilized crops are larger in size, sparkle, yield more coins and also yield XP when harvested.

Do your chances increase or decrease if i go to “My Neighbors” versus clicking on a neighbor at the bottom of the flash game app? I have gone from earning my white ribbon for good Samaritan to my red with out getting a single fertilizer.

thats awesome, i have still yet to fertilize crops im the highest level on my local friendslist too guess it doesnt make a big difference

While I was harvesting carrots this morning, 5 of them randomly started sparkling. When I clicked to harvest the 5 plots, I got an additional 2 XP with each plot harvested. No SuperGrow appeared anywhere though…

As far as we know it is completely random. Your chances of visiting neighbors and helping out on their farms do not gurantee that you will get fertilizer or that it even improves chances.

I got fertilizer for 2 days now! I thought everyone got it but I guess not. Been waiting to get paid back from my neighbors but I don’t seem to have any luck yet. I’m only Lv. 23 and all my friends who have higher levels don’t have it yet. But all I’ve been doing helping and fertilizing. Sucks when you help a friend and you have no crops to fertilize.

i dont know how it happened but every neighbor i visit for the past 3 days i get fertilizer. idk if i did something to make that happen

I have just harvested my 5 plots of sparkly pineapples & while I did gain XP that I normally wouldn’t have, everything else was the same – same amount of coins (242) & same mastery (+1).
Apart from the XP that both parties receive, I fail to see any real benefits to this ribbon.

It is not a random event. If your neighbor has crop(s) in the progress of growing you will receive the opportunity to fertilize their crops. this only occurs with GROWING crops, not un-planted land or fully grown crops.

Why did the plots on my farm that were super fertilized disappear? Not only were they no longer there when I went to harvest the rest of the crop, but I could not plow the land again. What’s going on???

I just read this article because I didn’t know how to fertilize crops and after I was done I decided to go to someones farm and the first or second one I got fertilizer! I’m wondering if I had been given this opportunity before and just did not notice.

You cannot fertilize your own crops your neighbors visit your farm and help you out. There is not fertilizer there everytime but most everday they will be able to fertilze your crops and you can also fertilize theirs. After you go to someones farm and shoo the critters away the fertilzer will pop up if there is any left. You can also get bonuses from your neighbors when they post there ribbons and their homepage. You cannot fertilize your friends crops more than 1 time a day. It cannot be fully grown crops either. They have to be growing. If you go to the help bar at the top of page it will give you some info.

if you get a suggestion to fertilized a persons farm and that person is not your neighbor, do they know it was you who fertilized their plants?

Is it true you get 2XP per fertilized plot?
All I’ve ever gotten is 1XP per plot….
But my farmville is really bug-gie. :/

I didn’t play farmville for 6 months of more, when I went there my fields were all gone and all my animals and trees where jammed into one corner. I fixed that, but when neighbors visit my farm is says ‘out of sync’ they have to refresh to get off my farm and cannot fertilize or feed my chickens. any suggestions?

I am having the same problem with the xp.. my friend gets 3xp when she fertilizes crops and i only get 1xp.. does anyone know why this happens or how to increase the number of xp you get ?

Same question here. I get 1XP, my husband gets 3XP. What’s up with that? And his fertilized crop gives 3XP too (mine give 1). Not very fair, is it?

Ya I get 3xp when fertilizing friends farms and harvesting crops that have been fertilized.. it just happened one about 6 months ago and has been the same ever since.. my mom only gets 1xp though…
