It’s absurd to require more neighbors than you can take care of. When you can send gifts to all 60 – and fertilize them all, including the henhouses – maybe 60 neighbors can be required. Even then, let’s hope there’s a farm cash option for those of us who prefer that our neighbors actually be neighbors…

I agree with Katharine but i got 78 neighbours and only 5 of them are people from groups, it’s easy to have 60 neighbours if you have a lot of friends on Facebook… and 600k is a real deal i thought it would be a million or somethin..

60 neighbors is no where near the requirements right now. I HIGHLY doubt it will take than many. Something like 25 or 30 is probably more realistic considering you only need 20 to get a 22×22. 600,000 coins seems about right though.

600.000 coins is a serious deal. Hope they will reduce it when they will launch it.
And it’s easy to gain 60 friends, just check the farmville posts in fb and the replies. Tons of ppl are screaming to have some friends.

You can get 60 neighbors in minutes. Just join one of those bogus “GET 1,000,000 FV$ right now – no joke”. Obviously it’s a joke, but there are tons of people out there soliciting neighbors, just request about 5 of them and about 3 or 4 of each of their friends, it will snowball from there and you will have all of the neighbors you need in a matter of hours. I’m also guessing that once you unlock the farm, if you don’t want “stranger neighbors” you can at that point delete them, and I’m not sure Farmville logic would be sophisticated to pull back your farm to a smaller size.

I agree with mmmmmmmmmmm. Adding people as neighbors but then deleting them as a friend does not remove their neighbor status (my ribbon says I have 56 neighbors even though they are not all my friends). I know it makes gifting and such more difficult but it makes me feel a little safer.

For one, we can only fertilize 50 neighbors crops per day.
For two, we can only send out 24 (right?) gifts per day.
For three, we can only feed 20 chicken coops per day.

Agree with Katharine … 600 000 is ok, but I do not understand what you win on that have 60 neighbors. You can not take care of them and sending gifts to all.
This means that we will tire of Farmville, when it becomes too much work with it, and start with another game.

They have to be your friends first. Once they are your friends, they can become your neighbor. Once you get the 24×24 farm, just delete them as friends, they will automatically fall off of your neighbor list. I’m so eager for this upgrade – I have 20 mastery signs now, and I should have pattypan squash by the end of the week. 92 more crop squares means a 19% bigger farm, thus cutting down the time to master crops by quite a bit!!

It’s photoshopped. The person took part of the image from the estate, that costs 600,000 coins. Also, the “What is this?” does not line up on the same horizontal row of pixels as the one to the left… which means when they copied the “What is this?” image to paste it above the 600,000, they did not match it up exactly where it should go.

I do not agree with the whole 60 neighbors thing because for one i do not even have that many friends, I think 40 neighbors would be a perfect amount. Plus like the other person said we can only fertilize 50 neighbors crops per day. i really hope its not 60 neighbors because i have been waiting forever for this. and if it was 60,000 thats a reasonable price.

You might actually find the extra neighbors beneficial – more gifts, more eggs to hatch, more people fertilizing your crops etc. Made my barn raisings a heck of a lot easier. The only reason I originally added all of mine a couple of months ago was so I could get a couple of the blue ribbons quicker (visit friends farms, fertilize friends crops), but I ended up keeping almost all of them!

Assuming the rumor is true, then Zynga will have to fix the bug of my not being able to add any new neighbors. I sent in a question recently and was responded to very quickly with the info I pasted from the email below. They can hardly expect people to add 60 neighbors if there is a known glitch in doing so.

As Rob said, this is easily photoshopped.. heck, it can be done in mspaint. However, the 24×24 expansion is coming very soon as stated by Zynga, most likely even this week. More space is always welcome!
I don’t think it’ll be 60 neighbors at all, more around the 35 zone.
Going by the overall trend of expansions(50k, 100k, 250k..), i’m going to say this will be worth 500k. Also, Zynga also said in the podcast that this won’t be the last one, meaning 26×26 is on the way. The 26×26 should theoretically cost 1mil – a nice figure to round off expansions.

For people that are wary of adding new neighbors because they are strangers….You can create a Farmville list in your friends section. Just hit create list and name it whatever you want. Then go to your privacy settings and change each one, it should have an option to custom edit where you can choose “only friend” but exclude “farmville list. Then as you add each person you can choose to add them to the “farmville list” so that they automatically on that list when they approve your friend request. You can make it where they see nothing more on your profile than before they were your friend. You can even hide them from your news feed if you choose so not only they see nothing of yours, you don’t have a ton of strangers filling up yours either.

it is very easy to acquire neighbors quickly if need be. All you need to do is find a friend and Facebook. friend suggest to each other. Keep in mind though that you only have a combined 24 gifts and friend request per day so if you really want that farm first day maybe get started.

I don’t think 600,000 coins is that bad if you can plant peas or grapes or something like that. I just don’t get how a person has to have 60 neighbors. That would be an outrageous figure. I only have 25 as it is now. It seems way too high and even 60 FV cash is way too high. It seems a bit ridiculous to me since the 22 x 22 farm was only 250,000 and 20 neighbors.
Like one other person said here, I don’t think neighbors should be a requirement to expand your farm. I just hope these aren’t going to be the final numbers when it’s released. Hopefully, it’s going to be released soon because my farm is getting a little crowded.

The 24×24 plantation would really be a nice feature but i think 60 neighbours are totally too many … I am of the opinion that i only want to have people which i really know in my neighbourhood, because for me it’s a nice way to stay in contact with them … i can’t imagine to have 200 or even 300 players as my neighbours – where the hell is the clearness with so many neighbours.
If you really need 60 neighbours, I have to add some ppl to buy that stupid expansion and delete them after i have got it …

The number of neighbours that have been needed between each expansion has been 8, 10, 13, 16 then 20, so to jump to 60 would be massive. I can see it being 30 but thats about it.

Still locked on mine. And I never did see the point in paying more and more for each expansion cause technically we’re not getting more land than before – i.e. 20×20 was like 75,000 coins and 22×22 was 250,000 coins yet we still only got 2 inches more. 24×24 is going to be 600,000 but we’re still only getting 2 inches so at 20×20 we payed 75,000 for the 2 inches yet for the next 2 inches we had to pay 250,000. Kinda confusing I know but I don’t see the point. If you could expand to any you want it would be good, like go straight from 18×18 to 24×24 but you have to go up in order and are paying more and more for the same amount of land each time.

You are indeed getting more. You are not getting two inches, but instead you are getting two inches squared. Just do the math.
14 x 14 = 196 total crop squares
16 x 16 = 256 total crop squares (an increase of 60 squares)
18 x 18 = 324 total crop squares (an increase of 68 squares)
20 x 20 = 400 total crop squares (an increase of 76 squares)
22 x 22 = 484 total crop squares (an increase of 84 squares)
24 x 24 = 576 total crop squares (an increase of 92 squares)
So you can see you are indeed getting more land with each increase. It would certainly be fair to argue that an incremental eight addidional squares over each previous upgrade may not be worth the upcharge to some people, but at the end of the day, they are just coins, most people complain that coins are worthless anyway, but of course they will also complain when they have to spend them
I’ve found these boars are about 80% complainers and 20% people who appreciate the game for what it is – free, mindless fun.

You should never delete people as FB friends before you delete them as farmville neighbors first, because otherwise you would gain a ghost neighbor which take up your neighbor slot.

I have 300 neighbors and add new neighbors weekly. It really isn’t too much to ask to have 60 for the expansion and I would have expected way more then 600,000 coin for the 26×26, I thought it would have been closer to a million.
People need to stop complaining, since this a free game and you do not have to spend your real money. And yeah you may not want to have a ton of people as “friends” on FB that you don’t personally know, but I have two FB accounts, one for my personal use and one that I use just for apps and games. Stop complaining people, if you don’t like something then don’t play!
But hey if anyone that wants to play the game let me know and I will add you as a neighbor!

It’s true that with peas you get more coins for less money, but actually the best way to get more coins is with Asparagus.
They are very expensive, and you might think you aren’t going to get that much but:
IN 2 DAYS:
1. Peas = 382 coins each crop (sell-cost*2times plowing)
2. Asparagus = 411 coins each crop (sell-cost*3times plowing)
That’s +29 coins for every crop you have.
So if you have 250 crops in your farm you will have + 7,250 coins with Asparagus than with Peas in 2 days.
Another way would be with the white corn (Haiti Seeds), but you have to pay for them (which is 100% fund) and you have to harvest every 6 hours.
So basically plant either of these 3 depending on your schedule.

This is XML-hacked to make the game show the upgrade in the market. Still, you can’t upgrade this way, because you’ll get “Out of sync” error.
The 60 neighbors requirement was in the XML for ages, and the amount of coins is just made-up.

Thanks for your post, and you are right about the one day in Farmville is 23 hours, and since I didn’t count the plow either, my math was super off!! Oops!!

ohh and right now the white corn is actually the best to plant, even if it’s only twice a day (farmville day), you get at least 6,000 coins for planting 2 times in 23 hours and twice the xp!

600k doesn’t even make sense. You have to purchase all previous expansions in order to get the next one. The one prior to this was 750k. What would something that is harder to get and supposedly advanced, be less expensive? Doesn’t make sense to me.

It rather defeats the point to have 60 neighbors when you are limited to giving 16 gifts and can only fertilize 5 plots a day per neighbor.
There could be no loss in letting those that wish to visit their neighbors farms more often and make the money and xp for doing so. Also, neighbors would be thrilled.
It took me forever to have 13 neighbors and i now have the 18×18 farm expansion, so ‘ thinking thats the largest my farm will be with the neighbor requirements.
IMHO the game could update and expand the number of gifts that can be given and the amounts of fertilizing you can do, gaining xp and coins, especially with the sizes of farms you can upgrade to.
‘Have a ‘coinage’ option, instead of FV $, with fewer neighbors for higher levels.
Or have an option to have someone on your farmville, but Not on your facebook ,and the updates could show up on farmville.com, rather than on facebook.
That could be do-able…….

Oh and whats the point of having all these damn chickens when you can only have 20 in a coop and ONLY one coop…….seriously people…………..It makes NO sense.
And why can the buildings be rotated?
Or the viewing/working perspective altered?
Or the right click options for the animals to be Rotate Right, Rotate Left, Rotate forward and on Stay when they come onto the farm?

How do you people possibly tend to 300 neighbors and farm and do your other life stuff????
I manage my farm, my son’s with 21 neighbors, 8 that actually participate, my sister’s with 6 neighbors, 4 that participate, and on occasion, my daughter who has 21 neighbors and 18 participate and mine with 13 and only…….a HUGE investment of time.
If you do 2 minutes each to include gifting, helping, fertilizing, feeding chickens and waiting to see if you got a mystery egg, that’s for 60 neighbors that a SOLID 2 hours.
That doesnt include the time it takes to be collecting all the bonuses, eggs, animals, helping with barn raising, or posting the eggs, animals or bonuses you have to share; or working on your own farm……..
For 300 neighbors thats 10 hours of work on your neighbors farm, NOT YOUR OWN!

The gift limitation is probably related to facebook limitations, not necessarily on Zynga’s end. I don’t see how having 60 friends is limiting, It be nice to have 100 friends visit my farm everyday and fertilize so I can get much more experience. Only current limitation right now is that zynga moved the amount of neighbors you can visit and fertilize from 20 to 50.
Farmville is a facebook game, so it is a bit unreasonable of a request to ask for it to go beyond it’s boundaries.
Farmville is also working on expanding the chicken coops. This game is still beta, and they are working on a lot of things.

Thanks for sharing the info about it being a FB limitation.
Yes, it would be totally cool having so many neighbors to help out and be able to help them as well.
I presented my experience with the game and was wondering how one would gift all those neighbors that are helping them as well as giving gift incentives to the the others, when what i have encountered is a gift limitation..
For me, it would be awful to not be able to gift someone who is a neighbor, simply because i reached a gifting limit.
And, I have found that you can give up to 4 gifts per person per day on facebook, (you just have to wait a few hours in between),but within that total of 16 allowed, unless that number increased very recently.
So, are you saying its better to gift from farmville.com and therefore be able to give an unlimited amount of gifts?
I didn’t know Farmville was an exclusive Facebook game.
I still think it reasonable to hope that you can gift ALL your neighbors, no matter how many you have of them.
Perhaps a bit more consistency/continuity with what both Facebook and Farmville.com ‘allow’ would simplify the process; rather than keeping different allowances, as pertains to each site, as there is a significant amount of navigating back and forth to accomplish what you want to do.
And the chicken coops……lolol…tons of people got the duplicates, which is cool, but, Im sure those amazing zynga developers can think of some way to increase the chicken coop allotment and capacity and sooner rather than later……after all whats the big deal with having more coops anyway? lololol
I have a small number of friends on facebook, 32 in total to be exact. So, those large numbers for friends are daunting.
It would be awesome to actually befriend /neighbor new people, good people, the kind that enjoy the game and they regularly send their neighbors gifts and help them out, much the same as I do:))))

Guess it is time to find a new game cause can not do any thing more with out having more land. If you have 60 or more neighbors u miss half or all the gifts and bonuses. I have lots of neighbors over 100 i do believe, that is fine with me but 600,000 coins or 600 fc come on now that is unreasonable maybe 200,000 coins or 200 fv is more reasonable. Why is so hard to recieve fv anyways. This suppose to be a fun game not a stressfull one. I enjoy playing the game but would enjoy it more if i had more land. Expand the limit of sending gifts and bonuses than thanks farmville makers.

One have tons of farm-friends becouse of better chances getting stuff
from notifications quickly. You do crop whisperer and good samaritan also more easily, but hard they still are.. after that I see no reason to visit
‘nobodies’ farms. gifts are only irritating, i hardly ever send them. and luckily im getting fewer and fewer every day. 10 hours to visit 300 farms?
depends on computer and connection. i have litlle over 200 neibors, about 400 kbs connection and oldish mini-laptop. i spend hours if i wanted to visit most of them, but not close to 10 hours!

if you look at the prices (10l,254k,50k,100k,250k) then 600k is pretty reasonable…
though neighbours.. which are something like 5,8,12,15,18,20, then 60 is pretty far off…
same with the farmville cash thing

Thought I had heard rumor — mind you, Rumor— that the 24×24 might not be the last land expansion. That Zynga is (rumor!)…possibly working on/considering land expansion beyond 24×24 as well……….so, realistically…60 neighbor requirement does seem too steep. I’m with those that say that the limit on gifts, fertilizing and feeding chicken coops would make more than 25 or 30 neighbors sorta sad. can’t do all that for everyone. And one of the aspects I enjoy the most is playing the game with Friends…especially reconnecting with Old Friends that no longer live close by! I’m not a greedy player! Don’t need/want gifts for 60 neighbors everyday! LOLOL. I’m level 38, love this game….equate spending FVCash on it to buying a game for WII, playstation, etc…or going to the movies. The prices for FVCash are cheaper than eating at a fast food restaurant. No…I don’t work for Zynga either….smile. Can’t wait for the 24×24 expansion!

It helps a lot to make the game easyer to decorate and make more coins to save for further expansions. Also Hope they never let it stop.
More levels should come to. 70 may not be the end of the game.

At one time I had over 200 neighbors, most of them went to the long list and I never saw them. I cut back to 100 and now I have about 125. Most of them are very good friends and help you farm,gift etc, others do not so I give them 2 weeks and if they do not harvest or gift I delete them.
People are finding this site: apps.farmville.com and posting it on the live feed. You can click onit as many times as you want to get the collectible, but no one will say where they got it or found it…plus, FV never said how many you needed of each item, now I find out you need 10 of most of them, well that’s jacked up, and some items you can never get again and them some are offered very few times…not fair.
$600,000 sounds like a steep price for expansion…what about the damn chicken coops? It tales forever to get the stupid egg ribbon ehrn you have one coop. I am at level 51, and this game used to be fun

A friend of mine in england just bought a 24 x 24 (the only friend that posted she had) she said it required 600,000 and 60 friends. I checked her farm when I helped her and it is indeed bigger. It’s still locked on mine, maybe they are doing in limited release so they don’t get bombarded with page errors….hope it unlocks soon : D

If you want find out which crops are the most lucrative to grow, why don’t you just create an Excel spread sheet like I did, enter the correct formulas, and let it do the calculations for you. I created the spreadsheet to calculate the profit on an hourly basis. After figuring in the cost of the crop, the cost of plowing each plot, the number of hours it takes to harvest (taking into consideration that a Farmille “day” is only 23 hours) and then how much you can sell it for, the most lucrative crop to grow is peas, the second most lucrative crop to grow is grapes. The hourly profit for peas is 7.652173913 (rounded off it is 7.65), and grapes is 7.391304348 (rounded off it is 7.39). Hope this helps.

You do get one more XP point for the peas than you get for the grapes though. Both harvest in 23 hours but peas give you 3 XP and grapes give you 2 XP.

I able to see the expansion but only for 40 FV under all and when i click Expand tab there is no option for any farm its blank. anyone have idea how many coins cost me to get 24×24

I show under the upgrade tab the 24 x 24 expansion costing 35 FV. No coin option. It does give me the option to buy with the FV cash, but I’m waiting for the coin option. Under the expansion tab there is nothing. This tells me they have not completley released it yet. My guess is that it will be 35 FV Cash or 350,000 coins with 30-35 neighbors. I do not have 35 FV cash, but I have over 50 neighbors and over 500,000 coins, which I’ve been saving for the upgrade.

The farm coins I don’t mind. But 60 people is ridiculous! That’s a huge jump from the last expansion. Plus here in the USA money is getting harder to come by. Especially for a game that has so many problems. They use to have more things you could get with FV coins then cash that has flipped around. It was a nice relaxing thing to come home too after a hard days work. I can understand selling a few nice things you have to pay the employee’s but come on now! It was a fun game but it’s almost like too much work. I’m feeling a little rebellious and going to make a sand. If that’s what they are doing I will go back to Farmtown where life is simpler and spread the word for friends a relatives to join in. If that’s what they want to do that’s fine . I think if so we should all go on a Farmville planting strike for the week end of Feb 6th and 7th. One ticked off Redneck Farmer!!!! Oh and finding friends is not the problem if your really want them they will come!

I agree with Jewels this game has turned into a chore like a real farm. As soon as I get the last expansion I am losing most of my farmville neighbors. No offense they aren’t very nice and are super greedy.
For the record it is true, I kid you not I have seen it three times now and if I had the 60 FV $ I’d clicked it on. Didn’t see the 60000 coins only saw the 60 FV $
Another thing I have over 80 neighbors closer to 90 think the max you can have is 300. It’s easy to get neighbors, only problem with lots of neighbors is your older friends loss out on the good eggs and such. My new neighbors grab chickens, cash anything I post as soon as I post them. Greedy vultures is what I call them. I have asked them over and over again why do you need 300 chickens 30 to 40 coops, It takes away the fun from everyone else and then they have the gull to ask for certain gifts over and over again. I keep asking them why, why not let others have some of the loot……….they never listen. hope their farms wither away……….whoosh!!!!!!!!!!!
When this is over I am getting rid of a ton of farmers they are getting the boot……….going back to the fun Farmville I learned to love and got me addicted in the first place not this omg I have to have it or else neighbors.

The only reason that I am on facebook in the first place is for farmville. I have a ton of neighbors and would add more than 300 if they would let me. If everybody had a bunch of neighbors then you wouldn’t have to worry about fertilizing your 10 best facebook buddies farms everyday because about 100 or more of your neighbors would fertilize your farm and your 10 best buddies from facebook every single day! The more the merrier! I had no idea there were so many people out there who were worried about adding “strangers” as their friends and neigbors on farmville and facebook. Do you really think anybody cares about your status update that you just brushed your freaking teeth? I’m in it for farmville and farmville alone which makes me a true farmville freak along with a few others on this comment board! I wish they would separate farmville from facebook completely! 8~)

I have had the out of sync problem also since expansion. Can’t do nothing. plow .plant or move stuff. Can’t accept gift as I can place themCame here to see if I could find a fix. I think it is Zynga as I can do the kids farms fine on same computer or maybe it is a setting that got changed on mine. Don’t know? Does any one have a fix.

In speaking with one of my neighbors, I found that while my market says I need 59 neighbors to unlock the expansion, hers states she only needs 49 neighbors–what’s the deal? Why does one person need more than the other???????
