well 1 level is pretty much 10,000 xp for higher players so if your level 70 you will just get 10,000 xp

These aren’t that hard to fake, all you have to do is screen shot the alert box, shrink the image of the new years ball and find the font they used, or if you can’t find the font they used, just cut and paste letters from different alerts into this one. I could make one of these in about an hour if I wanted it to be amazing. The chances of it being fake are MUCH higher than it being someone with enough time on their hands to hack farmville. If they could hack it to change the time to see the result of the ball they’d most likely have found a way to hack it to actually be to their advantage not just to see what gift the ball would give out.

@Wynter– these “spoilers” tend to be pretty accurate. Your suggestion is far to time consuming. If one likes to hack, they will hack no matter the time it takes, for the challange of it all.

I think that this is pretty rubbish, what if you are only like 500xp of leveling up, most people make more than that in one day, will you return to that amount of xp needed to level up on the next level?

this is like really stupid! i dont want a level up….i can just do it myself im not trying to be rude to the Zynga Gods but i think that they should give some kind of NEW YEARS 2010 gift u know? like maybe a NY 2010 teddy bear…….or maybe like idk a animal thats only avaliable one day or something like that……the level up may please some but personally im not happy with that decision:( sorry gods

Sorry guys I don’t want to where else to put this. The other day I leveled up to level 6 and it said one of the giftable gifts was now a penguin. But it wasn’t an option when I tried so maybe this will be available soon!

@Lee I’m not saying they wont hack it, I’m just saying if I was going to spend my time hacking I wouldn’t 1 waste it on finding out what gift I’ll get. I’d make it give me awesome gifts from the boxes, or eggs, or something or give myself more fc. Or you know hack better things then farmville.
and @Lucio I said nothing about fuel week, I’m not doubting fuel week they straight up said we’d be getting fuel week. I’m doubting the validity of the alert.

p.s. it would take just as much time to hack the game and make it think it’s a different day as it would to make that alert in photoshop. In fact it would either take about an hour or more most likely.

2 Free Gold Presents.
Make a fake email and a new face book page. Add your regular profile. Go to your regular profile, accept your friend request and make 10 special presents by filling your holiday tree up, opening a present, putting one back in and posting the special present ten times. Go to your new face book page and click an FV post from your news feed to start a new farm. You will start with 5 FV cash and it is relatively easy to level up to a total of 10 FV cash if you get the ‘gifted not spoiled’ ribbon and use this method to level up. Plow a field and plant a soy bean. This will earn you 3 EX point for 30 coins. Now put the 10 presents in your tree and use the 10 FV cash to post a present. Remember only one person can ‘adopt’ the gold present. Now go to your regular farm and collect the prizes. A lot of times it’s just a stupid chicken but you can also find silver and purple mystery boxes, lambs, grey tabbys, 20 fuel…

I visited a friends farm today and they have a “Rock stream” and “Grey goose” Does anyone know where these items came from? I took pictures but I don’t know how to upload them into a comment. I assume they came from a mystery box but I am curious… Possibly I missed something? I can’t find anything on FVFreak about these items.

I planned stuff out so that by the time that im a certain level, ill redecorate my farm in such and such way.
I was thinking about selling my new years ball so i wouldnt gain a free level, but then would i lose the free fuel week?

@Alex.. Wow dude. You need as many levels as you can get #1. Second.. you can still get money if you are level 70. So what’s the point in selling it? Exactly.. Say thanks to zynga for a free 10,000 xp if you are high leveled.

LoL this is NOT a “hack”
all you have to do is change you PC clock to Jan 1 2010 and your ball will drop and you will get the popup noted above…
i also got my free level up doing that

To all those worried that you’ve deleted your ball – a quick look at the farmville XML file shows that this will probably be available to buy back. Message looks like it will say
“NEW YEAR’S DAY is coming! Did you get your BALL DROP? If not, one is for sale in the market. Play FarmVille between Jan 1st-3rd PDT to watch the show and receive a reward!”

Fantastic effort Zynga… the entire Christmas (‘holiday’) theme was brilliant.
My daughter & I opened our presents while chatting on the phone (she lives a few 1000km from me)
We were very excited with all the presents…the ones we didn’t want to keep we sold for coins.

without me doing it somehow my laptop clock showed it was 1st jan 10 so my new years ball broke giving me free level up, then all of a sudden, your game is out of sync message, and after the refreshing, its all gone.level down again. nw i reset my clock time on pc one da backward, so will i still get my level up on 1st jan?

Mine did not work correctly this morning, and got the out of sync message earlier today.
How i fixed mine, was to put into storage. Left (closed) the farm & FB, came back hour later, opened farm left for 5 minutes to let all updates load, got ball out of storage and after another few minutes it kicked off the the alert message, and
the ball dropped correctly and gave the level up, worth a try?
It went up a level but also more than that(extra 2000xp over), so i still have 2500 xp to get to next level.

SOLUTION for frozen page when the New Years Ball drops!!!!!
Hi all!
I had the same problem like most of you have, that the page is frozen up when the ball is dropping.
It seems you get this problem if you have LOCKED YOUR FARMER between fences or haybales!!
Remove that so your farmer is free and your page won’t be frozen up anymore.
It works for me and for other people too!

I also did not get my level up. The ball did drop and right after it, I got the “Saving your farm” message which of course never really works. My level went up and after reloading the farm, I was back to the previous level. So, not too happy about it.

Mine was also a loser. I tried resetting the clock on my computer…still nothing. I came here and was glad to read I wasn’t alson, and followed one of the links to email Zynga. the response was a bit odd, but then when I went to my farm, I had the same original pop-up that the ball was about to drop; I accepted, it did, and my level went up! Hopefully they are fixing it, and everyone will have a working reward – good luck!

uhhhhh! What is the deal!!!!! I went in farmville on jan 1 and nothing happened!!! MY ball didnt even drop once! I clicked on it and all it said was to move, store or sell. What is the deal! so i came back january 2 and still nothing happened. I have 2 accounts and neither of them worked! i was so exited to get a level up and fuel cause im only on level 21 and i barley have any fuel for my harvester! Am having an orange gift in farmville. If i try to open that, it shows an alert “Hey! you don’t have a holiday tree on your farm yet! Better add one partner!”. Is there any one to help me out
