FarmVille Farmer’s Market Coming Soon!
Our friends over at Games.com including editor Libe Goad were able to meet with Zynga recently and get an inside scoop!
Libe was able to speak with Zynga representative Bill Mooney and got an inside sneak peek of an exciting new feature- The FarmVille Farmer’s Market!!!
According to Mooney, the FarmVille Farmer’s Market will allow farmers “to put stuff in your farmer’s market and that will have an immediate benefit, and you’ll have some interesting stuff to do with that.” Could this new feature include the trade function that we have all hoped for?
The FarmVille Farmer’s Market is rumored to debut in the coming weeks and perhaps in April. Thanks Libe, for sharing this exclusive story with FarmVille Freak!

“This week, we had the chance to sneak behind the scenes at Zynga and talk to FarmVille General Manager Bill Mooney about what it takes to keepFarmVille-ians happy. Aside from releasing brand new items about twice a week, it’s those bigger new features — like Horse Stables or the new St. Patrick’s Day Pot of Gold — that keep players coming back for more.
A FarmVille Farmer’s Market is one of those big additions that will be coming in a few weeks. The exact details are still hush-hush, but Mooney says that “you will be able to put stuff in your farmer’s market and that will have an immediate benefit, and you’ll have some interesting stuff to do with that.”
We asked if the Farmer’s Market will allow players to auction items, similar to the auction system found in the popular online PC game World of Warcraft, and he says it’ll be much less of a ‘win-lose’ scenario, adding that the ultimate goal of the Market is to encourage people to get more social while playing FarmVille, giving players more reasons to visit friends’ farms and work together to build a better game experience.
Before moving on, Mooney once again emphasized that the FarmVille crew has ‘very big plans’ for the Market and he expects ‘people will be very excited by it.’ Have to admit, it certainly sounds intriguing. We’re guessing farmers will be able to put up items for sale in their Market, which will be a great way to earn a few extra bucks — and clean out those super-packed storage barns. Keep your eyes peeled for the Market’s impending arrival, most likely, in April.

Love it. Whatever it is. The one good thing is they are always adding new features to keep us all interested. I’m not one who complains when things cost FV$, I understand that they have to make a profit, it’s actually fun for me to come in here and read the posts by all of the people whining and complaining about everything costing FV$, the fact that you have to play Mafia Wars to get the vehicles, etc. Keep up the good posts everyone, you give me hours of entertainment.

I’m wondering why the more items I have on my farm, the longer it takes to load. It makes me not want to play. Any ideas?

@Tracey: I think that’s just common sense. The more items you have, the more graphics there is to load.

It will be a great place to unload all the topiaries, banana and pomegranate trees from mystery gifts if it works that way.
Zynga better be coming out with much larger farms or storage as they have added so many new items this year. I have used up a chunk of my storage with the best Christmas items (not the soldiers and snowmen).

I want to know what happened to the farm expansions? There was this fantastic message about 30% off on expansions for the month of March…but I can’t expand…there is just no option in my expansion section. Then the message about the sale disappeared. What gives?? I was super excited about a SALE on the expansion, but was even excited about being able to expand my farm. It’s great we have all of these wonderful new items for our farms – and I mean wonderful! But it’s getting to the point I won’;t have any room fro crops soon. What if we have two farm screens like Farm Town…that way you can have all of your fun buildings and animals, etc and then another screen just for the crops. Might speed up download times for the farms and motivate farmers to buy even more stuff. No, I don’t buy anything unless I REALLY want it. I have no room left on my farm without it looking like just a bunch of ‘stuff’ stuffed on the page – I like a realistic looking farm and my crop area has dwindled to the point I don’t make enough coins anymore to buy what I wanted anyway. Main Point: WHERE ARE THE FARM EXPANSIONS!?!?!?!! Pretty Please!

Also – anyone know about the pet I unlocked on Petville and what might have happened to it? Seems like I unlocked it and boom, it took off….but to where? If it wasn’t something to keep, what was the point?

Will it be able to hold anything, such as animals and other item that cant be stored. i wonder, for instance i have pinto horses and clydesdales along with two permanent stallions! with that said its obvious that i have the oppurtunity to constantly make some pretty sweet foals that most cant. and with them only able to be shared, the only way i could get any is to find someone eles with those animals or….have my mom get them and be able to share/sell/trade with me! how cool woould that be. Sorry if this has been asked already i didnt feel like reading all the replys! thanx for reading mine by the way, add me if you have the option or chances of creating those foals. it kinda stinks i have horses that i cant get matching babies to! If this is a way to trade items or auction items why does it show crops that are being sold on the loading page, can we trade the crops for coins and mastery if we can that would be so cool and if any of the Zynga “Big Dogs” see this they can take that into consideration because i would pay for yellow melon Big time.

Just want to say that farms market is released, but probably in a limited way, I saw that one of my friends gave away Peas bushels, this is the message: “Christoff is selling Peas Bushels in their Market Stall and wants to share some …free samples! Christoff hopes their friends will stop by and get more bushels from their stall before it closes. Christoff’s stall will only be open for 24 hours!”. Haven’t got anything myself though.

Well, the farmer’s market was released today, and it looks like its nothing like what people where hoping for, there is no trading of decorations and objects, only bushels of crops. Its really frustrating though because i’m the only one in all of my friends that still plays farmville, so I will never be able to reep the benefits of this new addition, oh well

I find the farmers market very frustrating. I can’t use my own bushels and my friends don’t grow the bushels I need. It’s kind of the luck of the draw. Maybe I am not doing something correctly but when I go to my stall and click the bushel I need, lets say carrots. It only shows the time before the stall clears and a button to close before the time. Below is a button to look for the ingredients from my friend (never have anyone growing what I need). Anyone have any suggestions?
