I decided to stop playing farmville. It seems they only care about people buying farmville cash (I think they get money with ads). Most of new items are only acquisible via farmville cash.
I see that there’s no meaning in keeping playing and farming. For what? You’ll get only coins that are almost useless. If you’re buying new items you must think that your storage is limited, everytime they release new special items, you have to sell them for almost nothing with no way to recover them, so it’s like burning your money (I say it for the people who buy things with farmville cash)
Farmville cash should be used for a few exclusive items, not for almost all of them, or to get them earlier. It’s becoming a greedy and expensive game. Also you can’t send any of your repeated items to your friends.
I do prefer Pet Society at least not almost all of the new items are exclusive with Pet Society cash and there are other different ways to get that cash than buying it. And also, you can storage everything you want. So you can redecorate the house everytime you want and recover older items whenever you want.

@ reyvaj, totaly agree with you, only I do prefer farmville over pet society, i just don’t really like pet society
. But I absolutely agree about everything being fv$

I vote Cupid gnome! He looks like something I could actually keep on my farm after Valentine’s.
Posted on February 8th, 2010 at 12:59 pm
Swan fountain you can keep that on your farm….
Posted on February 8th, 2010 at 1:26 pm
EVERYTHING is with Cash …. i can’t belive it …. it’s not a fun game anymore since they dont give stuff for free also …. everything cash
i couldn’t agree with reyvai more – even i will buy them with real money i wont have anything place to keep them after the holiday is over cause the storage is limited so i will be deleting my own money !!
and also you can’t send your used items to friends either – in Mafia wars at least the things you get doubles you CAN send to your friends !!
i am really thinking i am seeing the door outside of this game

They Need to add a Museum – where you can store 100 items that have been purchased for FV$ – collectables.
And a Realtor – to store all the houses.
This should then free up the Barns and the Sheds for other crap.
I’m such a hoarder
and am beginning to reduce my crop space – for lack of space elsewhere – and I’m miles from completing most of the mastery’s which actually relates to farming.
So many items now have zero thats right zero relation to Farming.

First of all sorry if someone finds this entry too pessimistic.
The problem with mastery it’s that you don’t get anything important. You get that signal and 250xp, some coins and that some of the crops will give you 1 xp extra (a joke if we think that at certain point, to achieve a new level requires 10000xp). Well, there is a point in the game where your efforts don’t give you nothing remarkable.
Once you get level 37, there is no sense to keep on levelling because you don’t access to nothing new, you don’t get a higher quantity of Fv cash (it takes 10000x to achieve a new level and just gives you 1 FV cash so imagine you need 140000 xp to get a pink patch cow. In short, you just level up.
Because of that, I think that one player who achieves level 37 will not be motivated enough to master asparagus because the reward it’s not significant. Another problem is made by the animals and the trees, if you have many of them it takes too much time to collect them (you must click once and chose the option “collect”, there should be a tool that collects them only by clicking them. Also I think that the barns should be used to store animals and have something like a chest to store the items.
But the biggest problem it’s space, if you want to have many storage you must have many barns (that need too much space to place them). As I said before, I think that your storage should be unlimited and the barns should have another use.

i like the swan fountain

So again the people who cant afford the farmville cash get screwed. Your gonna tell me that the only thing we can get with coins is a love arch?!!!! Come on!! I just dont think it is right.

ekkk I bought the 5 Valentines I thought it was a decoration but it went to my Valentines Box I’m disappointed I lost my 5 FV CASH!!!!!!!!!
Posted on February 8th, 2010 at 7:27 pm
I totally agree with Ravvai we need unlimited storage..they should make a collect all button to collect everything so you dont have to click on each thing individually it takes up to much time..and im sick of all the new cool items costing FV cash… im not gonna waste my real money to buy fake items on a game…they should make most things farm coins
Posted on February 8th, 2010 at 10:36 pm
Use houses to store items, barns to store animals, let greenhouses store extra bouquets, and a new tool: “comb,” “glove” or “bucket” that lets us harvest an animal with a single click. And less stuff that costs FV, more that costs in-game coins! I know the game is free for us to play, but it’s rather discouraging to see so, so many things enter the game that we can only realistically get by spending cash.

Thank you everyone for your comments.
In addition to the limited quantity of items you can get with coin we must say that the big problem if it’s a a good choice to buy FV cash.
If we make a little calculation, only with valentine exclusive items and a green mystery box, you will expend approximately 128 FV cash = 15.65 €, and the price it’s higher if you want to collect the 6 items revealed in mystery boxes with tough luck and not getting any of them repeated, the total in this case would be 208 FV cash what it means translated to real money almost 25.5 €. This is only in this Valentine event, we must recall there have been Christmas, Halloween, Superbowl, UFO’s a lot of mystery boxes, etc…
Every ten days or two weeks they release a new event so if we want to get all items and making an estimate of 15 € (the cheapest option) it would be 45€ every month. Ok, it’s not much, who wants to spend it it’s free to do it, but I know how hard it’s to earn money (and in a year would be about 500 €) and, at this point of the game the storage of most of farmers it’s full and they will have to delete many things to add these new, and as I said before, I feel like burning money if every week I had to delete exclusive items worth in 15 € (there will be a point when all stored in barns will be only exclusive FV cash items and you will have no other choice to delete some of them if you want the new ones)
I just don’t like the direction the game it’s taking because little by little it’s becoming almost a pay per view game, and an expensive one. They know the problem with storage and they don’t want to give the perfect solution that it’s unlimited storage. They just want us to delete and buy. At first it was just a few exclusive items, but now the few are the ones with cash money (in Valentine just 1).
I understand there is people to be paid at Zynga, but I think they get enough funds with ads, they could get more if some of the items would be sponsored by a trademark (imagine some collectable weekly gifts by some trademark like Pepsi or any other company like that that would give funds to Zynga and give a little more life to the game)
I’m not trying to discorauge people playing the game but today I collected my last crops because I will have some exams soons and I don’t know if I will plant again because I’m a little dissappointed. I remember when I was playing at first how hard was for me to get some items and how motivating it was to achieve them, but now there is no meaning in keep on croping because what am I gonna buy in this event with those coins a hundred love archs?

hello, i am tired of hearing the whiny people fussing abt fv$ items..lol…it is quite sad. if you dont like it dont buy them. duh! my hubby doesnt buy them hardly ever and loves his lil farm jus fine, and i have friends who and don’t buy them…as per thier preference. i do buy fv$ and enjoy my lil farm community. lol…i don’t buy every item, and i don’t whine abt the new items either. if it is something i want i get it as like any game people play out there…if i don’t want something they put out i just don’t buy it… simple. me, my hubby , and my friends love our farms and enjoy what they let us create…it is up to you how simple or complicated your farm experience needs to be. =)

Jamie
Of course no one it’s obliged to buy those items.
What I’m telling it’s that the game it’s taking the wrong direction. I do prefer to be told at first that it’s a pay per play game rather than watch how step by step it betrays all the players that made this game so big. When I buy a video game, I just pay once for it and I know there will be no ads and that the company will not require to access to my data to play it. Some video games need updates, but most of them are free or if it’s paid you can burn it or get it in a physical format or burn to recover the updates you bought, In FV you can’t save all the things you buy, there is a very limitated storage so people who freely buy with FV$ have no other option than someday sell their FV$ items with no chance to recover them.
Now everything new it’s to be paid with real money (for instances the love week market items). Themshelves will be the ones who will bury the game because everyday more people it’s getting tired of this. I’m one of those people and because of that I decided to stop playing. I find the game no fun anymore, now I see it just like a greedy game. Spanish speaking people say:: “La avaricia rompe el saco” that means something like: “Greed breaks the bag”. They must remember that what made this game so popular it was that it didn’t have any cost to play it.It’s something like if Public TV channels (funded by ads) made people to pay for most of their shows, or just let them watch just the first minutes of them.
Jamie I’m sorry if you think that i whine. I just tell what I see and the reasons why I leave Farmville. I’m not telling you to stop buying FV$, it’s your money and you spend it as you like it just as everybody does.
Posted on February 9th, 2010 at 12:29 pm
If there is one more event where FV$ is the only way to buy anything worth having I’m out!!! In the good ol days (before we made this game the #1 app on facebook) this game was fun. Now they just want our money.

I agree with everything Revvai said. The points made were intelligent and very reasonable. I started playing the game soon after it first came out. It used to be that you were rewarded by how much effort you put in and how social you were (making friends, helping neighbors). Now it’s about dollars too much of the time. Anyone could see that the game has changed over time, which is insulting to those who made it popular.
If you ever go to any of the popluar computer game sites, you’ll see that they offer several free full-version games. And what is the difference between the free full version game and the paid full version game? Advertisements. When a company gets enough users/customers/viewers, the make their profit by hosting ads. So, they don’t actually have to charge us one dime!
I’ve been excited about the farm theme decorations that are supposed to be coming out soon, but now that I see how they handled the Valentine’s Day items, I’m not holding out much hope that they’ll listen to the players’ many requests that the coming items be available for coins instead of cash. People literally post messages begging for Zynga to not make new items available for cash only, saying that times are hard for them. So for Zynga to then come out with holiday items where only two items (one of which you get by default anyhow) are available for coins is such a slap in the face, and that’s why people are complaining.
People often say that no one is forcing us to play the game/buy the items/etc. But the game did not begin this way, and if you want to fault someone, fault the company for baiting and switching rather than faulting the players for wanting to feel included in the fun/cool stuff in the game. Zynga advertises and markets the new weekly items in a way that is meant to encourage sales and lure players into getting them before they’re gone, and they have become successful at that. It seems to be their new business tactic.
Jamie, you said that if people don’t like the items, don’t buy them. Really, not liking the items was not the point…but one could say the same to your comments. If you don’t have a problem with Farmville cash, then great, but don’t knock other players who do and regard them like children by calling them “whiners.”

For Crissy – I totally agree! I just bought the box for 5FV$ and thought there were gifts awarded. I obviously didnt read it properly OR it was not explained properly. Waste of cash, complete waste
Posted on February 10th, 2010 at 9:53 pm
FV has turned into a money racket, there are 2 items that you can buy with FV coins the rest take cash. I think ALL the items in the market should be able to be bought with coins and only mystery boxes should yield special gifts that require FVcash, on top of that you shouldn’t get repeat items in the mystery boxes (meaning if you get a waterfall, you shouldn’t get another until you had got all the rest of the items.) I’m about sick of having to pay to get the good stuff. Then even if you do you don’t have a place to put everything. I had a ton of X-mas decorations and now am out of room. If they want people to buy their items they better start fixing the storage problem soon.

did the valentines balloon disappear on anyone else?
Posted on February 20th, 2010 at 12:27 pm
FV needs to allow more barns and chicken coops, after all this is a farming site and it shouldn’t restrict these necessary items. I also think all items should be availabel for a limited time, without having to use FV cash and then cash only, to be fair to all players and allow them to purchase with their hard work and coins…Please adjust this FV or you will continue to lose players, who think your philosophy is only to get Fv cash….Thank You.
