I just saw where my ball was dropped and the light up thing at the top say Happy New Year. I did not get anything, but when I refreshed it was back to normal. I had thought I missed a few days there. Any one see this happen on their farm?

My ball dropped early. I refreshed my FV and I heard a crowd counting down. Then my ball dropped and I saw the blue magic cloud and then nothing. There was nothing in my box either. But the sign says Happy New Year and the ball was at the bottom of the pole. I reloaded my page and now the ball is back at the top of the pole. I did do a screen capture of it. So at least I know what the count down will be like LOL. Just don’t know what you get when it drops.

Ouija same thing happened to me and i got a screen shot too (L: as well there was a message that said; be sure to celebrate the new year with some fireworks and then it said server out of sinc!!!!

I accidentally deleted mine too while in the frenzy of selling silly black sheep christmas presents. Do you think that they may make it like the holiday tree where you can buy it again if accidentally deleted?

The ball dropping is part of the animation cycle. If you stop refreshing – you will see it going back up and dropping again. Sit longer and it does it again.
And the “Special Gift” will be another white chicken or a cat for the cat lady ribbon. (The “hint to what we have in store for 2010″)

In a FarmVille dreamworld, I’d make like ‘The Sims’ where you adopt a baby and it can grow all the way to adulthood (only w/out the steps of having to feed, change > learn to walk > toilet train > make it do homework, go to school) so you have an apprentice. Get MORE done; while you’re plowing, he can be harvesting tree crops.

Wow. It’s amazing how many people need to be repeatedly saved from their own stupidity. First, they delete/sell their christmas tree, now they’re doing the same damn thing to their New Years Balls. There are chickens and chimps out there that can press buttons more accurately. How do you people survive in the real world??

TO NINJERK … its not that they’re not pressing accurately, when you sell something, most of the time that screen moves so you ended up pressing something else (in the same box you did last time). Its an accident for pressing to fast thinking that its the same stuff you wanted to sell before.

Would be nice if they opened the 24×24 expansion and also allowed us to buy another chicken coop without getting one by trickery. A Rabbit Hutch, A Stable for Horses would be nice gifts too!

I believe that the new year prize that farmville is going to give us is that they are going to let us move one free level up, based on the comments i have read so far I wouldn’t doubt it! I can’t wait to find out, what do y’all think ?.?.?.?

i bought a mystery box and it gave me a golden chicken. i already have nearly 50 golden chickens. not to complain but i don’t think its worth 16 farm cash when i could just hatch a friends egg for free.

I deleted my new years ball by accident as well. Thought I was deleting something else and hit the wrong one. I emailed Zynga support and explained what I did and got a response within 24 hours. They gave me a new one in my gift box.

2 Free Gold Presents.
Make a fake email and a new face book page. Add your regular profile. Go to your regular profile, accept your friend request and make 10 special presents by filling your holiday tree up, opening a present, putting one back in and posting the special present ten times. Go to your new face book page and click an FV post from your news feed to start a new farm. You will start with 5 FV cash and it is relatively easy to level up to a total of 10 FV cash if you get the ‘gifted not spoiled’ ribbon and use this method to level up. Plow a field and plant a soy bean. This will earn you 3 EX point for 30 coins. Now put the 10 presents in your tree and use the 10 FV cash to post a present. Remember only one person can ‘adopt’ the gold present. Now go to your regular farm and collect the prizes. A lot of times it’s just a stupid chicken but you can also find silver and purple mystery boxes, lambs, grey tabbys, 20 fuel…

I’m glad I didn’t get rid of mine. Personally I’d like a stable, or a foal. Maybe a pony? Other than the Clydesdale released the other day, horses have no variations or buildings.

I just checked to see if they added it and yes the New Years Ball is available for 10000 coins in the Decorations tab. Just keep scrolling till you find it. I’m happy Zynga made it available as a level up, as rumored, is a nice gift.

if zynga do the dog it will probly be wee brown one like the one on the load page and then the adoptable one will be a bulldog and it will be called zynga and i hope they will do this they should do some more wild and extravigant animals like tiger and all penguin was a good start

I never received the “Level up” either. I had no room on my farm so I had it in storage but a message asked me to put it on the farm to receive a special present and I didnt get anything so wondering if this had something to do with it??

Hi Annette, keep putting your ball into storage and taking it out and eventually you will level up. You may need to do this a few times it took me half dozen tries.

everyone has leveled up on their farms… but me. i am on level 35 and was really looking forward to getting on 36, i got on my farm, it directed me towards the New Year Ball for a special present… then froze and didn’t do anything. =/ so i refreshed the page.. and nothing happened. it’s sad, and I just watched my sister level up 20 minutes ago and i didn’t get to… =/

I did not receive anything either. Not sure my ball even dropped. Just counts down to 8 then stops. My neighbors too received level ups. Not exactly fair.

@Mary, I couldn’t find it in the market until I deleted it or sold it, so i f you haven’t sold it that might be the problem. And mine didn’t work either, but I’m pretty sure we still get the free fuel week since it was announced to start on Jan. 4 even if you didn’t get the special present.

hey friends … i too sold ma new yr ball by mistake but i bought new one from market … here z wat u got to do … goto market -decorations-den click on specials -u ll see new year ball dere 4 10000 … u can buy only one .. as soon as u buy n place it on farm, countdown starts n u ll get a level up

if you are level 70 , than you just get 10,000 XP nothing else , no level 71
if you are a lower level than listen to Dee’s advice

Don’t give up! if it starts the countdown and stuck at 8, sell it, refresh and buy a new one. If it disappears from the market, refresh again. you might need to repeat this few times till you get leveled up

My New Year Ball didn’t do anything either, so I put it in storage, then took it out again. That triggered the falling ball and my level up present. YEAH

if you’re having problems with it freezing and not getting the level up, i had that happen to and ended up moving it to a different section with plenty of room around it and then it finally worked. i think if there is too much cluttered around it then it gets stuck/frozen. try moving it and see if that works.

I have tried that damn ball for weeks now. It let’s me launch it and after the countdown nothing happens! It just has confetti and fireworks then restarts. I never got a damn thing from it. AND to top it off, I just lost all my FV Cash yesterday afternoon out of nowhere. I had used it in the morning and it was there, then a few hours later, gone! Poof! Just like that. I never bought anything and didn’t notice any glitches. Farmville is starting to piss me off.
