There is ONE “special” Present underneath everyone’s Holiday Tree. But, do not fall for it. Zynga gods should really be ashamed of themselves for this one.
The Gold Present can be yours if you are willing to trade in 5 of your Presents and pay 5 FV$ to get it, that’s each time you trade you are expected to give 5 Presents and 5 FV$. Be careful not to hit the “Trade” button.
FarmVille Golden Present
The notice for the Gold Present is also very misleading, having you believe that you will receive a special Present, not that you will share one with your neighbors. Additionally, Gold Presents are said by Zynga to contain only the “best prizes” found in other Presents. NOT TRUE! I found 3 lambs each time. I’m not sure how this is “special” because I had already received Lambs in the other Presents multiple times. Some others have reported winning Brown Chickens and other prizes that you will have already opened in your normal Presents.
This function is only nice if you want to “share” gifts with your neighbors, as it allows you to publish the Present in your newsfeed. Otherwise, do NOT waste your FV$ on the “special” Golde Present!!!

Right off the bat I traded in my 5 FV Cash and 5 presents and got a mystery box opened it up and got Santa’s workshop and a good amount of XP. Then I saw more and more comments coming up saying not do buy this so I only bought that one and just lucked out. If you have yet to open any presents it might be worth it, but it seems bleek. Sorry to all those that got ripped off.

Okay, picture this, my sister and I (both in our 40’s) can’t wait to open the presents under our farmville tree. The Farville Freaks post on our page “You can now open you presents”. We couldn’t load farmville fast enough. What could it be, FV points, a dog that walked around with you…the long awaited suspense was over. The first thing I saw was that there was a gift for trade. It required 5 FV points, and sadly enough I spent mine earlier in the month on a “christmas toy chest” (has since been sold). My sister and I are sitting at the same table with our laptops and as we open each gift you could see the “spirit of farmville christmas” leave our faces. One by one, a cat, a cow, fuel, lamb, fuel, chickens and oh yeah did I say feul. My sister and I took a break between opening presents (the excitment was more than we could handle). Outside during our smoke break I asked my sister if she would do one of the trade gifts “NO” I am saving them for something else. Oh come on sis, it says its the best of the best, you could get an Estate, 1000’s of FV points. It’s only 5 FV points and 5 of your gifts, come on do it. She said okay and we quickly ran back to our laptops and my sister hit the “trade button” ….OMG she screams, it’s a cat! I ran over to her computer knowing that some mistake had been made. I assured her that it had to be one of her regular presents. She clicked accept on the cat and the screen still displayed the “trade button”. Oh good, it wasn’t a cat..so she clicked the button again (thinking she didn’t do it the first time) and a brown chicken appeared…..I was laughing so hard that I was hurting…I couldn’t believe that right there before a witness my sister got scr***ed…and no kissing was involved.

** OH MY GOD!! Farmville is really ripping people OFF!! I spent $10.00 FV BUCKS and both times I got the Grey cat!!…Its hard to get the FV BUCKS…All of my friends agree that FV is really taking a toll on them, amd most of them are searching out new sites for us..FV needs to fix this problem before people leave the site and head on over to another Farm to plavy…The GIFT was sooo misleading and I can’t not believe they would do this!!…I don’t know how much longer I will continue to play FV..Not a happy person with them at all.Oh by the way….They DO NOT RESPOND to emails…If they do,its at there on time which tells me,they really do not care!!

Have to disagree with you there on two fronts: first, you are making the assumption that this gold present came from their heart or that it was an altruistic gesture, yet I think most would agree that, as a business, their ultimate goal is to keep players playing in the hopes of spending RL cash for FV dollars. If the gold present was free, like the regular presents, then you would have a stronger argument.
Secondly, the wording (description) of the gold present is misleading and patently disturbing, it reads:
“Trade 5 presents and pay 5 Farm Cash to open a Gold Present!
Gold Presents contain only the very best prizes found in other presents.”
Now if somebody came to me and told me to give him/her 5 of my presents and 1 US dollar (5 fv dollars), in exchange for a present that is wrapped in gold– I would already assume two things: 1. that this seems more like a business transaction (no xmas meaning here)
and 2. that the gold colour must mean its good. Now, add in that caption of how it says “only the very best prizes…” and it is surely misleading because, as is evident, the majority of the prizes are not the very best. What it should have said was “a chance of the very best prizes…” and then we would know, ok its gambling and tough luck if one rolls a brown chicken.
As it reads now, this gimmick labelled “gold present” surely does not contain any xmas meaning as you seem to believe. If anything, the meaning is to take advantage of the xmas season by making money off its player base in the guise of a bona-fide present.

Well poo. I only got one lamb from my regular presents, I really wanted SOME not ONE! and I got 2 white mystery boxes from my regular gifts, and those were 2 platimun gnomes! Of course I end up with the crappy mystery box prizes, not gingerbread houses or the frozen pond… My regular gifts were crappy and I’m really happy I didn’t trade for a golden present now because it would’ve been crappy too.
Thank Zynga for your disappointment in their ability to deliver quality, virtual holiday presents.

I was just lucky that I didn’t have 5 Farm Cash to use on it. I was disappointed but then I came to famvillefreak.com to see what was in them and was relieved. But I think Zynga needs to give to Farm bucks AND 5 presents back to everyone who splurged the gifts and money. Complete **** Zynga.

I read this too late so I bought the gold trade gift and received a brown chicken. :S
I have never put real money on Farmville but my boyfriend was very kind and put some on mine so I can buy this present.
The truth is that I was actually that dissapointed. In my other regular presents I got 4 gold chikens, 3 lambs, about 50 fuels (which is more than $35FV cash, a baby turkey, 2 Mystery Boxes wich included a soldier gate and a santa’s workshop besides a bunch of cows, lollipops, ornaments and other stuff that I sold.
The thing is that I wasn’t that mad because they actually gifted things that you have to buy with FV cash. The disappointed thing here is the misleading sign they wrote on the gold present.
Anyway you can still send and receive gifts for 2 weeks so at least you can get a chance on getting something else… like me… that I’m in love with the gold fountain hehe so I hope I can get it soon.
Other thing besides x-mas presents… I JUST DON’T LIKE THAT ZYNGA TOOK THE SEND OPTION ON THINGS… I really hope they put it back soon because people gifted to me really usefull things!!

I totally agree with the SEND option thing… I also used to get dtuff from friends, and sometimes spent real money on fv cash stuff to friends too… I also WASTED 10 FV cash that I BOUGHT due to misleading info, which I suppose is punishable by law, as the product does not correspond the description and actually deceits the customer into buying something “because it’s special” and it is most definitely not. I opened my presents very early and was in the dark about all this. I got a striped tabby and some fuel refills… I THINK ZINGA SHOULD FIND A WAY TO WORK AROUND THIS AND ACTUALLY GIVE SOMETHING USEFUL TO PEOPLE WHO WASTED FV CASH ON GOLD PRESENTS AND WERE MISLED. A GOOD SOLUTION WOULD BE FOR EXAMPLE TO AWARD US WITH 1 MYSTERY BOX FOR EACH GOLD PRESENT, OR SIMPLY RETURN THE FV CASH WE SPENT. Don’t put much faith on that happening though…

Came home from a very tiring vacation… misread the message for the golden present and i traded 5 times~ got 3 lamb at first, then a 10 fuel refill and then a golden chicken. Then i almost got a heart attack when i found FVcash25 deducted! i read the message again. Urgh~ i swear i saw “OR” when i read it the first time! LOL I probably won’t whine right now if i’d got at least one mystery box among the 5 traded gold presents though

lots of lambs, calves and stupid black sheep… golden soldiers and nut crackers.
The two things I like are the new years ball, golden fountain (with 500XP) and the fuel refills. can’t go wrong with a refill

i probably spend about 25 FV cash on this hoax…can’t belive i didn’t realize the trap
of the items i recall, were a grey tabby, 2 golden chickens, one brown chicken, 10 fuel refills and probably another grey tabby…all of which i found in the other presents
aside from a ****load of fuel refills, i’m mostly being spammed with baby animals and nutcrackers
wish i could give some of it away, rather than having sell it to free up space in the gift box

I got the gold present twice. First present was Santa’s workshop. Woohoo, so I did it again and got a stupid tabby cat
blah. I got cats everywhere. the Santa workshop was cool. I did do better with the mystery presents from the regular gifts. Every 5 or 6 gifts i opened was a mystery gift. I ended up with 2 gold sleighs, another santa work shop, frozen pond with a frog, a golden/red toy chest, and a zen garden. So all in all, dont bother with the gold gift. regular gifts lead to mystery boxes that give better stuff.

I got a golden present which was put into my gift box like a regular gift, then i placed it and opened it to find a golden fountain. Pretty nice, but my boyfriend did the same thing and it just popped up saying he got a grey tabby. We tried again thinking it was a mistake, but it did it again.
SUCH a ripoff, i want them to give the 10 fv cash back.
There has to be a glitch in it somewhere…

well…. spent 15 farm cash in family…..got a damed brown chicken for my five presents and 5FV cash. one son got a lamb in both his mystery box AND his gold present (he was not amused!)….other son got mystery box…daughter tried to snag when published and someone beat her to it….there was only ONE!!! how is that share with your FRIENDS!!! S usually means more than ONE! I was so happy….then felt so ripped off by the GOLDEN Present…..Fools GOLD! I did get 8 alien cows….loved that. Had to go buy a damned tractor to get 135 fuel refills out of my stupid gift box….Stupid fuel….sell for ZERO coins….or live with it in your gift box…..FOREVER!…. should be able to gift it to people who NEED it….hate fuel and will never ever use the tractor…except to get rid of fuel. I was down to opening 3 presents at a time…..that was a pain! I have received 3 mystery boxes each containing a Gold Sleigh, a Holiday Sleigh, and Huge Fountain and a grand total of 1500 XP points. I received Gold Chicks X 4, and 3 lambs 3 black chicks and 4 10 refuels. Yes, I opened them quite a few times..lol. I am done with the Gold Boxes. It was fun and while it may have been a rip it was also fun sharing them with my close Farmville friends. It was my Christmas gift to them by giving them the heads up when I was posting them. So I saw the joy in it through that way..through my friends who otherwise could not have got the things they did because they did not have the coins. Now isn’t that what the spirit of giving is all about, the joy?

I wish I had found this site before I spent the 5 FV$ – all I got was a grey tabby. Bletch. I’ve gotten 3 others in the regular presents, and sold all but one. “Best Presents” is totally false advertising.
On the positive side, I one of my presents was a mystery box was that turned into Santa’s workshop – which gave me 2000 XP (and would have cost 38 FV$ to buy). Much better! (Now THAT”S the level of quality I was hoping for from my gold present – not a stinkin’ cat.)
Now I know where to look for information the next time an offer like this rolls around.

I did one gold present trade and got a gingerbread house and 1000 xp – not bad. Didn’t do another one though after seeing farmvillefreak comments. I think I just got lucky. 2 other mystery boxes revealed a fountain and a toy chest. All the good presents seem to have gone away. Still opening presents slowly so I can give my friends “special gifts” with the 20 presents I try to keep in the tree and I haven’t gotten anything good at all lately. No fuel even and I want fuel more than anythiing. Just animals, nutcrackers, ornaments, etc. It was fun at least the first night opening the first 80 gifts or so… now it’s disappointing bc I just keep getting the same things over and over.

Make a fake email and a new face book page. Add your regular profile. Go to your regular profile, accept your friend request and make 10 special presents by filling your holiday tree up, opening a present, putting one back in and posting the special present ten times. Go to your new face book page and click an FV post from your news feed to start a new farm. You will start with 5 FV cash and it is relatively easy to level up to a total of 10 FV cash if you get the ‘gifted not spoiled’ ribbon and use this method to level up. Plow a field and plant a soy bean. This will earn you 3 EX point for 30 coins. Now put the 10 presents in your tree and use the 10 FV cash to post a present. Remember only one person can ‘adopt’ the gold present. Now go to your regular farm and collect the prizes. Zynga should be forced to refund the FV cash plus a penalty for ripping those who fell for the gold present trick. Everyone who got ripped off needs to file a class action suit against Zynga, and force them to make amends. Especially since you know they did this deliberately so they could laugh at all the “no-life gaming geeks” wasting their FV cash.

At first, I wasn’t about to do this, mainly because of the “trading five presents” part, not even the FV cash part!
But then the presents went from being “Wow, this is really cool!” “Oh, great! I needed some of these!” “Sweet, I don’t have to worry about fuel until Valentine’s!” to “This again?” “Ugh, not ANOTHER one of these!” “You’ve got to be kidding me!” And I had a crapton of gifts, because I’d been getting them from my friends’ feeds, as well as having 20 saved in my giftbox, and another, oh, 60 waiting to be accepted!
So, I said, “Screw it, I’m going for it … it’s supposed to be something good, so maybe I’ll finally get another Mystery Box” (since I’d only gotten one, although it had a fountain in it.)

So stupid! traded for the golden present thinking there was going to be something totally cool inside! But I was very disappointed, I got a stupid lamb and I already got like 10 of those from my other presents! I am so mad at FV right now! Yes I got 5 mystery boxes but the farmville cash was taken for these!! when i traded the next gold present the prompt was not enough cash – I have now been left with 2FV cash and lost 20 gifts – anyone else had the same problem

I feel the same about the MYSTERY BOX..I got crap. All the stuff that I got for free was in the gifts to..I got some good things..But i didn’t need more cats,cows,chickens,geez

I was asked if I would like to trade (5) gifts and FV Cash for the prize in the Gold Box. I said YES! The FV Cash was taken and I’m assuming the prizes were taken also, but nothing was given.
Now I’ve an avid fan of FarmVille and have spent money on credit cards to pay for ‘what I want to do’. I HAVE NO PROBLEM SPENDING MONEY and Zynga receiving, but show ME some love!
Go back and check and you’ll see that there was a transaction done right before Xmas regarding.
If you are not going to give me what I would have received in the Gold Box? IN SECOND THOUGHT, keep the Gold Box and just REFUND THE FV CASH that you took! I’ll take my chances!
And another thing, I’ve tried so many times to DONATE and find out how to use the DAY and NIGHT program by Warren Hsieh! You gotta know him. Would you please ask him to contact me with instructions on NOT JUST DONATING (which I have no problem) but instructions how to actually use HIS PROGRAM.

Do me a favor! I love the game; just return the FV Cash that was taken and you keep the presents!
Also, would you please ask the developer of Day and Night to contact me. I can’t seem to find instructions on how to use his program! Love the idea,though.

the trade for prize option is a wait. I got a damn chicken. If I wanted a chicken i would had just asked for on as a gift. Cost of chicken was 5 fv and 5 gift, wait of time and money

In the mystery boxes though was a couple santa’s worshops a gingerbread house, dancing snow lady and how about the stupidist present of all the holiday gate and santa sleighs. Some had a lot of XP’s while others lacked hard I think 1000 xp – 150xp. How about different levels of mystery boxes cheap to expensive… 7, 10 and 16. I do see what they are saying, it’s a gamble people, and that is why the game can be so addictive, yes they definately FARTED on the christmas tree special present, but made a quick recovery with the free fuel week and new years level up. That’s it from me I could type all day about Farmville, but I think I’d rather get back to playing it!

I opened nearly 200 presents and didn’t get one mystery box and yet a lot of people I know that had a lot less presents than me got 2 or more. That alone pisses me off so I’m really glad that I didn’t have the FV cash to do the trade because I would have certainly received a brown chicken and would no longer be playing this game…I got 7 golden chickens from the regular presents.
BTW everyone I know got the new years ball (including myself) got the new years ball and a free level so that was pretty cool.

when i try to open one of my presents, i got curious about this “gold present” i traded and i was shocked coz the present is cool! it’s the GOLDEN FOUNTAIN.. and that’s the first present that i’ve open besides those some…… my one neighbor thanked me bcoz of that!
he’d waited so long just to get that. haha

Gosh. I’ve love this game and got some of my friends REALLY into this game. I’ve worked hard at earning what I have. But what upsets me the most is I helped my friends who don’t have as many FV friends get gifts since I add people for the fun of FV. Well imagine my surprise when my sister got 4 mystery boxes she wanted to sale the stuff she got, dancing snow lady, Santa’s Workshop(I wanted that), toy box, golden gnome. Also one of my other friends who don’t have many FV friends got 2 mystery boxes and as for myself not one! I’ve opened maybe 500 or 600 gifts. I’ve been desperately trying to get a least one! But no.

Wow I got a lousy grey tabby, which i didn’t even bother to share. I totally got ripped off. I swear, they should refund me the waste of 5 fv dollars back cuz that was total and utter bull****! The worst mystery box I had recieved yet. I only had 2 out of 110 presents and one was santa’s workshop the other was a sleigh, but the gold one is supposed to be sooooooo “special”. It was a piece of crap! I NEED MY FV DOLLARS BACK!! That stuff is hard to get especially if ur only leveling up to get them. That was lame as hell!

TO BE HONEST WITH YOU. I OPENED A MISTERY BOX AND IT GAVE ME A PAGODA BUILDING SO I WAS REALLY EXCITED.
SO I DECIDED TO TRADE 5 PRESENTS & FV CASH FOR THE GOLD PRESENT AND I DID TWICE

I am very upset with FarmVille. Its painstaking to earn the FVs. Every Level, we were being awarded only 1FV and it takes 5 levels to get 5 FVs. I was thinking that the 5FVs + 5 gifts to trade for “something very special” is really worth it. But to my horror, I found a Golden Chick by giving up my hard earned 5FVs. I felt FarmVille shouldn’t give us this kind of gifts that we can easily hatched from the Golden Eggs every night. For your information, I got around 60 Golden Chickens in my Farm already.
If possible, I like to have my 5FVs back, please. I hope you will look into this matter seriously and immediately.
